Our normal go to Target is in Pleasant Hill, however I came to this one to pick up an online order for an item that was not at the PH location. The ladies at the customer service desk were great. Helpful and friendly. They located the item I ordered quickly and efficiently. I had a return for an item that I could not find the receipt for. However, they are now using the receiptless return process like Home Depot employs. Insert the card you made the purchase with and they scan the item. They will then return the item and return the funds to your card. Awesome! As for the rest of the store, it seemed like a normal target. There have been other target locations s that are more like Beirut, but this one was not too bad. What did I learn today? The dollar bins that are at the front of the store drive me nuts. It is cheap garbage that can't cost them more than $.05 to buy. My recommendation, keep walking. read more

The crew that works the drive & pick up are always working their butts off and super friendly! I also spoke to the manager recently about a return I had and she was so helpful as well. Had a bad experience buying an iPad last week. On target.com the 2017 model was discounted by$50. So we went into the store and asked for the discounted model. He rang us up, but the discount wasn't applied. We caught it but not until after the credit card charge went through. When we asked why, he said we needed to ask for a price match. Apparently Target and Target.com are independent systems. The systems being different was not this guys fault. Seriously Target, that's a really crappy experience for customers. How many people spent to much because they were not careful about the recipt? However, not telling us that we needed the price match was his fault. After all, we were literally taking about the website price while he rang us up. It felt like he was actually trying to cheat us! Just to pile on, he wasn't able to fix the price, and sent us to customer service. The customer service experience was actually good, hence the 2 star review. First off, the only reason I came there was because I thought they had gamer chairs in store. But was shown in very tiny font on the website that "delivery only". So I decided to make the best of my trip to this crowded store. I needed blackout blinds for my room, so I grab the rod and the color I liked. Mind you, on the box it shows two full blinds hanging on the rod. Sorry for not reading the whole box. But I think it is misleading and there needs to be some type of signage put up, explaining you need to buy two packages. So after I drove home and looked everywhere for the 2nd piece. I finally realized I only purchased a box with one blind! I was beyond mad. I had to drive all the way back, park and hope they had the color I needed. The "supervisor" just gave me a blank look like it was the products problem and not theirs. Seems like a scam to me! Tricking people into thinking they got the whole thing just to come back and do more shopping. I hate this place. And especially this supervisor that did absolutely nothing. I don't like making complains but this guy should be fired, his lack of interest into my legitimate complaint. He literally didn't even say anything. I hate this place so bad I didn't even bother bringing back the first blinds i bought because I didn't want to be in that "Terrible Target" any longer than necessary. To sum it up. Read the print. Waiting for 20 min at the drive through pickup spot. I wouldn't have come except they emailed it was ready. Suuuper frustrating.

My daughter recently had back surgery and we needed to get her an electric scooter. They were located very far from the entrance and luckily one of the staff was willing to go get one and bring it to us. The store was generally well stocked, but the checkout was problematic. I had my re-usable bags and the cashier just set them aside without saying anything, like, "you have to bag your own stuff if you brought your own bags". I'm not from Walnut Creek, and where I live they reverted back to being able to use your own bags and having the cashier bag your purchases, but she said she couldn't bag them, or rather she would have if I had asked, but I guess putting them on the conveyor belt wasn't a clear enough request. The beanies available were disappointing. I was really hoping to get my lovely father-in- law a warm and cute beanie. This hope was crushed by Target. The only beanies available were child-size and hideous to say the least. This was extremely upsetting. The only fuzzy pants available were for young children and were lacking the fun festivities needed for holiday pjs. I love Target. I love how I can afford just about everything in here. And now that they have groceries, I feel like I wouldn't need to go anywhere else. This location in Walnut Creek is no exception. It definitely meets what I am familiar in the Target brand and it's store layout. The restroom was fairly clean; however, the rest of the store could use some tidying up. I have been at this location several times and I plan to come back in the future and when I'm in the neighborhood. The price is usually right but not today since they don't seem to have any of the G. H. Cretors Popcorn Chicago Style. They do have these Star Wars bags for a buck a piece that I might get get for my kids. Hmmmm. read more

Normally I'm a huge target fan but my most recent visit to this location was disappointing. Turn up the AC!!! The merchandise in the women's dept, shoe dept, bathing suit dept, and junior's dept was incredibly messy. Clothes were on the ground and in wrong places. Shoes were so out of sort I avoided the whole section. There were empty carts left all around the fitting rooms making it hard to get to. Suggestion: get more staff? I'm giving this place 2 stars. 1 for the amount of parking. 1 for the food court/Starbucks area. read more

I have always loved Target and they've always been 5-Star in my book, but sometimes change isn't a good thing. I'm sure they spent millions, but the recent overhaul of my beloved Walnut Creek store has left me scratching my head, wondering whose idea this was and why? It just doesn't feel like Target anymore and shopping there has become stressful and not so fun. Where I used to enjoy taking my time checking out the new merchandise in different departments, I now just rush through so I can get out of there as quickly as possible. Finding basic things has become a challenge as the redesigned floor plan makes no sense, but more troublesome than that is the increased aisle congestion due to the elimination of most of the cross aisles and the addition of dozens of annoying kiosks and displays that block the flow. I feel like I have to keep moving or risk being mowed down by some other frustrated shopper. I used to love being lured in to the clothing and accessory areas on the right side of the store as I entered, which were perfectly set up for impulse shopping (my favorite!). Now, dishes and appliances occupy the space (not nearly as enticing) and I usually end up not going down that aisle at all anymore. Seems like a waste of prime real estate to me, but what do I know. Anyway, for better or worse, I have not been tempted at all by the new clothing arrangement. I can't really say what the big difference is other than perhaps less depth and breathing-room, fewer visual displays and less distinction between departments and brands. It seems like there's more stuff all messily squished together (more of a Walmart vibe, as some other reviewers have also noted.) The old set up also used to get me to the back of the store, which I rarely go to now. The upside I guess, is that I'm spending less. As much as I would love to get my old Target back, I realize that's probably not going to happen. I will still shop there and will probably get used to it eventually, but sadly, some of the joy has been lost. read more

My husband and I just moved here, so two nights ago was our first time at this Target. Let me just say, for being a Target, I was super disappointed. It literally looked like people had finished preparing for the apocalypse here. There wash trash all over the floors, empty / un-stocked shelves, things were in a disarray at every turn (the women's accessory dept. looked trashed, the clothing dept.'s look so unkept like a team member hadn't organized them in weeks, and the trash cans outside of the store were just overflowing with trash. Not what I expected for Walnut Creek, but clearly they don't care about this location. I think I need to find another Target even if it is farther from home. read more

Only 3 stars because every time I visit the garbage cans are all over flowing, the eatery tables are disgusting and dirty, and the bathrooms are grotesque. I've never been more insulted in my life. I'm standing in line at the register. The woman before me is blocking the conveyor belt with her cart so I can't start putting my groceries down. The young man ringing finishes with her turns off his light and walks to a further away register to start chatting with his coworkers leaving me standing there like an idiot. I SLIGHTLY raise my voice so he can hear me and call to him "excuse me?? I was waiting." He waltzes back over grinning like an idiot and says with a snarky tone "you don't have to yell at me lady!" He then rings my few items and still smirking says "have a nice day" but AGAIN with ATTITUDE. As if I WAS out of line for calling him back over. It was humiliating. I actually had a question regarding a toy that was on sale but the lack of customer service and blatant rudeness threw me so badly I left without asking it OR purchasing the toy. I DO NOT recommend that location. Update: the store called me to follow up with the online survey I did but I was at work when they called. I asked if they could please call back. The frustrating part is if you live in WC or Lamorinda the nearest Wal-Mart is in Martinez. So what's it going to be: pay more and not travel as far, or pay less and take a drive. This is by far the worst target I've ever been to. Since I've moved, this is unfortunately the closest target and I've had a bad experience nearly every time I've been here, but today took the cake. Lorenzo, the supposed manager, was extremely rude to me at self checkout. There is apparently a new policy implemented today that self checkout is now 10 items or less. I was literally here yesterday and this wasn't the case, so I asked really? and he said yeah, really in a very rude tone. I asked since when, since I was here yesterday and this wasn't the case and he said since today. I said uh okay, and I walked away saying that this policy is stupid, not to him but to my boyfriend who was with me. We went over to regular checkout, which made me irritated because there were plenty of self checkout registers open and this new policy made us wait in a line for no reason. I took my things from my boyfriend and I's shared cart (less than 10 items) and went to self checkout. I scanned my first item which was a pair of shoes which I knew was supposed to be 20% off per a sign in the shoe area, but it wasn't coming up as 20% off. So I pressed request help and Lorenzo came over and I said this is supposed to be 20% off and I showed him a picture I took of the 20% off sign, and he explained that it was something you had to do through target circle, which I said okay to, since I do have target circle. He stayed there for another 20 seconds and I said ...that's all. because I was waiting for him to exit out of employee mode so I could back to scanning my items. As he was signing back out he said "maybe look at the sign next time." This was extremely rude and uncalled for. I was very upset for the rest of the time and I even asked for his name because this kind of talking to a customer is completely unacceptable. He told me his name and said "the manager's name is also Lorenzo" which I took as him saying he's the manager, and then he said "that's me," as if I was stupid and couldn't realize that's what he was saying. I said "yeah, I got it" and I finished checking out. This was an extremely upsetting interaction and as I write this he keeps looking over smiling as I am visibly upset by his behavior. My problem with going to Target for, say, socks for the boys is that we end up leaving with a pack of hot wheels, some toothpaste, a portable DVD player and some DVDs, some basic long sleeve t-shirts, presents for some babies in our lives, some ceramic bowls on clearance, and ... socks for the boys. Despite my ardent attention to Whole Foods when I find the need for specific items, I still find myself drawn back to Target again and again. Inexpensive, large, and a diverse range of products, right down to the pair of exercise socks when I'm lacking on my way to the gym. This Target is pretty large and situated above the parking lot, which means the denizen of this area appreciate the cool escape from hot summer days. I had a small housewarming to attend to and needed a bag for the gift, a nice bottle of wine. I ran in, found two types of tissue (lime green and a black/white floral print) and a nice card. All for under $10. Target, how do you manage to be so damn classy? Is it your Walnut Creek location? Your shiny facade? Your impeccably organized aisles of products I'll never need but somehow desire beyond reason? What the hell is it already??? Even the food court diet soda tastes better here than at any other Target (except for the one in Trussville, Al, they actually have you beat) I've been to. I work directly across from this behemoth beacon of consumerism one day a week and I think she's simply magnificent (*jumping on couch Tom Cruise style*). It's the real thing. It's love. This store is cleaner than any Target I've been to (except the Trussville, Al location which I like to engage in adultery with when in the area) and there are no children screaming and running around like the ones at Daly City and Tanforan. Ew! Those locations make me want to cut a bitch for real. I never leave here without spending a fortune but I always feel like I got one hell of a deal. Their sales are awesome and somehow they seem to always have my size in yoga/gym clothes (their yoga pants, btw, are my very favorite, even more than lululemon, please don't kill me) or pretty much whatever catches my frugal eye. No, I don't look to Target for my general wardrobe but for socks and the gym, these guys are on it. Anyone and everyone, please remind me not to go shopping within a week of Christmas. Tonight's experience was hell with people blocking the aisles and intersections while completely ignoring others. I felt violated...falsely imprisoned... Then, I break free and make a dash towards the cashiers. I take the express lane thinking that it would be...well express. Unfortunately, my desire to be checked out quickly came to a screeching halt because the cashier was 1) new, 2) did not know how to log on to the computer, 3) could not find the bar code, 4) consistently search for available co-workers to help her out, 5) double scanned my merchandise, 6) did not know how to void the one of the double scans, and 7) did not know how print a credit card receipt. I'm a low-maintenance gal. I don't wear a lot of makeup, and I don't really have any idea whats fashionable or not. The only articles of clothing that I really invest in are pants (hello long legs!) and bras. Nearly everything else I buy is from Target. I do not like to clothes shop. It's really rather depressing to go shopping, because even though its 2007, designers have still not figured out that not all tall women are XXL's. Some of us are mediums, or even smalls. Target makes clothes for all shapes and sizes, but has an unusually high amount of merchandise for the long and lean. But I don't like to try stuff on, it takes too much time. I am the queen of impulse buying, and Target is my kingdom. I generally head in for makeup or paper or cheap DVDs, and on my way to those respective departments, make a swing through the women's clothing area. Anything that's cute, I grab and throw it in my basket. I don't try it on until I get home. Risky? Sure. But more often than not, the clothes are good picks and I keep them. I get so many compliments about my wardrobe, and they are followed by dumbfounded looks when I tell the person it's from Target. Recent steals: Faux leather bomber jacket, perfect for going out on a cold night: $29.99 Blue argyle sweater, great for work and spur of the moment "casual" dates: $19.99 Lightweight green top, ideal for going out in: $14.99 Can't beat those prices. While I have no problem spending more money on quality goods, I'm not as keen on dropping hundreds of dollars so that I can feel like I'm wearing a tent. My wife works across the street from Target, so I'm not sure how it is that I get sent here from time to time to pick up kitty litter or her prescriptions since I would think she'd love going over on her lunch break. But I guess the less time she spends inside Target the better it is for both of us. Parking can sometimes be a hassle if you want the front-row spots up top, but there is plenty of covered parking beneath the store, and another, larger lot out front as well. We stopped in here this weekend and picked up a few essentials. Everything was easy to find (even a couple items she didn't know she wanted until she saw them: a new nail file, some oily butter lotion, etc.). I of course picked up the heavy box of cat litter and waited with her at the pharmacy. A Target team member was keeping people happy in the pharmacy line by passing out Target-brand gummy fruits and bottles of water. It was a short wait and we were able to scan our other items at this register too.) Once again, I was impressed with the fast service and organized store. I have been coming to this location throughout the years and this particular Target seems to have just about everything. There home accessories and bedroom selections truly are super chic fantastic! There clothes selection can be stylish as well though, just lacking in quality but my major complaint with most Targets is that they don't carry petite sized section.... Really??? This is our friendly, neighborhood Target. I've been to plenty of Targets around the area, and this seems to be cleaner, better stocked and better organized. I used to be a Wal-Mart girl, but I've started to transition to Target as my go-to to fulfill my basic needs. They always have a great selection of apparel (I almost always seem to buy something every time I pay them a visit). I also love checking out their $1 section. There's always something super cute that I can't seem to pass up. Parking can definitely be a b, but if you venture to the underground parking garage, you may more easily find a spot. read more

It's a Target; a convenient one-stop shopping experience for picking up basic staples like cosmetics, health and beauty products, clothing, housewares, toys, and a variety of other items at affordable prices. What's unique about this particular Target? It has an underground parking structure. That was a first for me. You park underground and then take an escalator up to the main store. There are two escalators for people (one going up and one going down), and one for carts (going down). This was also a first for me. There is an outside parking lot for those afraid of heights or who'd prefer not to go for rides on the escalator. There is a Chase ATM by Guest Services and a full service Starbucks Coffee inside. Yes, you can use your Starbucks card (or phone app) to purchase drinks and you will continue to rack up stars towards your next free drink. I'm not sure if you can use stars to redeem a free drink here. After perusing the Dollar Spot section where there are many items for $1 or $3, I headed to the Starbucks to get a Venti Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade for my drive home and headed back down the escalator. All in all a positive experience with a good selection of products and friendly employees to serve me. read more

Much of the fresh meat sold at Target comes in packages of "modified atmosphere" that includes carbon monoxide gas to give it an artificial appearance of red fresh meat. Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that can cause death by carbon monoxide poisoning in high amounts. The carbon monoxide gas is absorbed by the meat and turns it a bright red color. The meat is labeled with the disclaimer "Color is not an accurate indicator of freshness. Refer to use or freeze by date." This means that if the meat spoils, it will still appear as bright red as the day that it was packaged. This could lead to accidental food poisoning since spoiled meat will look like red fresh meat. Meat treated with carbon monoxide in this manner has been banned in Canada, Japan, Singapore, and the European Union. Supermarkets such as Safeway and Lucky do not sell carbon monoxide treated meat. I can't believe I haven't written a review for this location yet. This is the closest to where I live and I go here pretty much every week. Parking: There is ample dedicated parking here both at the entrance level and the ground level. There are escalators and belts for the trolley from inside the store to the ground level parking. So parking at either level is convenient. Store arrangement: I always use their target app on my mobile to look up where I can find stuff. When you add an item to the app list, it shows the aisle number where it can be found and I've observed that it is correct most of the times. Even if, for some reason the item has been moved to a different aisle, the staff here are pretty up to date on where one can find the stuff. There are price scanners every few aisles, but sometimes it's hard to find them. I wish they installed a few more of them. Some of the store staff have price scanners on them, so when I can't find one, I just grab hold of one of the staff to scan the items for me. Cost and quality: Most groceries like milk, cereal, baking items, pasta ingredients, flour, cake mixes and snacks are reasonably priced. Fruits and vegetables are definitely overpriced. The inventory for fresh fruits and vegetables is not refreshed adequately. I have been unable to buy any onions or tomatoes during some of my visits mostly because the remaining ones on the counter were almost rotten. The eggs are always broken except the Simply organic ones that are boxed differently. On the other hand, the quality of clothes I've bought here are amazingly good even after several washes in the machine and absolutely NIL care. So, I would say, while some of the items are really worth buying here, some are not. Definitely don't count on doing your weekly grocery shopping here, well at least the fresh grocery items. Variety: Variety is what I love about this store. There's always more than one choice and this is the main factor that makes me want to come back here again and again. I also like how there is a Target brand item of every thing I want to buy with the same quality and lower pricing compared to the other brands. Billing: Again, my experience at the billing section has been mixed. When it is 10 items or less I just go to the express counter and I'm done almost immediately. In the regular billing section however, some of the counters are always closed and some other have a long queue. Most of the time the wait is around 5 minutes. However, in rare occasions the staff have been so talkative and it has taken forever to get past the billing. My experience hasn't been consistent. Overall experience: With the target app to help find items, the variety of items and ease of shopping around here my experience has been pretty positive. But I'm not going to be able to give more than 3 stars until they revamp their fresh grocery section. read more

When Steven G. said this was his favorite Target, I knew I had to check this place out. Admittedly, I was apprehensive to come here as I LOVE the Target in San Ramon, but when in the WC and when one must get random things like (school supplies, lunch box goodies, toilet paper, a new can opener, etc.), this is the store that can't be beat. This is a HUGE Target that has its own underground parking garage full of Porsche's, Lexus's, etc. Even the snooty car folks love the Tar-Jay! So, Steven G., I have seen, I have shopped, I have ooo'd and aaaahhh'd, and I hate to say it, but I will stick with San Ramon, but will come to this one as my next best! read more
