I spend a lot of time in the Northgate area and frequent this target a lot. They have a lot of parking in their 4+ level parking garage. I've learned their layout, so I go straight to the areas I need and rarely walk around the store just browsing. I really love Target. This one takes the cake. Two stories with an escalator just for your shopping cart so you don't have to trek clear across to some random corner for the elevator, free garage parking, grocery store included and great customer service will bring me back again and again. You can't get a real grocery shopping trip done here due to the super small selection of produce, lack of deli/butcher/bakery and such but for snacks, pantry items and toiletries they have you covered. I asked a salesperson in the tech area where to find a thumb drive. He looked up briefly from his phone and waved vaguely to the north. I asked him where in particular they were and he said "you'll see them" and went back to scrolling on his phone. I located the thumb drives but none had a price sticker. I asked him what the prices were and he said "they are all marked," which they were not. I selected one and asked him to scan it which he did will little grace. He said it was $25.35. I took it to the cashier where it scanned for far less. I decided to take my business to Best Buy instead. Before I left Target, I reported him to a supervisor for being so rude. This review is for the photo lab. I came in and set up photos to be made, today. I came back after it's estimated time and was told a card I made wouldn't be ready because of computer issues- despite everything, the customer service had been nice and they did their best to help me. Essentially I was told I could come back. I decided to because they were so nice, I thought, why not. I waited until 11:45 (45 minutes after they told me to), because I get things happen etc. and didn't expect them to be finished right at 11. I came in and was very rudely informed they "didn't have time, if I wait 20 more minutes then I can have it." Which either way I couldn't have and because I drove 45 minutes to me "favorite target," wouldn't be able to come back for at least another 2 weeks. I loved this target. I used to frequent its location and I loved everything about it. HOWEVER when the "photo lab" manager/employee immediately launched into his "no time to resolve, if you wait, etc. it's unfortunate" deal, I immediately declined. I worked in customer service for a decade and managed for 7 years. I am a hard person to piss off in that relation EXCEPT when you are rude. The number one thing in customer service is customer and to be polite. I'm not even asking for you to be nice to me... I get you're stressed out, I get you're understaffed. But for you to pretty much say it's the technology's fault and my waiting 2x and leaving/coming back 1x, couldn't warrant a shitty apology? I said ALOUD "I didn't even get an apology, are you serious?" and walked away. I won't post their name although I know, because everyone had said 'he's the best'? HOWEVER he was straight up impolite, rude and careless towards me. I only expected minimal customer service. In such that you actually tried to help me. I know it's hard to be in this line of work sometimes because the customer sees only a millisecond of your work. And I don't doubt he is a wonderful hard worker. But the number one thing is customer service. All you had to say was... anything nice? Just a quick "sorry to make you wait... sorry you had to deal with this..." I am so appalled especially if I verbally addressed you about it. But apparently that's how this 'photo lab employee' is.... The employees who didn't even work in it were nicer. LOL. I just went shopping there, came home and looked and saw that every single thing I bought was significantly less expensive at Target online. It looks like they "price match" their own prices (what??), and to resolve I'll have to drive back to the store to deal with it... It's over $25 of savings for four Health & Beauty items. Uncool. I am a huge Target fan, and it always intrigues me how different Targets can be. I mean, the merchandise is basically the same from store to store, but the store lay-outs and staff and "vibe" differ vastly, as do the amenities offered. Today was the first time I've ventured in this particular Target. It is super cool! Even though I think this store has less square footage than many of the "super" Target stores I'm used to, it still is a fairly large store, and it seems even larger due to the fact that there are two stories: the lower level has household goods and electronics; the upper level has clothes and groceries and the pharmacy. I liked the good-sized Starbucks at the entrance, and I noticed they had a fairly large photograph area and optometrist's area. Very nice. I LOVED the escalators for people that parallels the escalators just for carts! I just love that! (I've only seen another cart-escalator once before, at a Safeway off Madison. And I was enthralled with that one, too!). This store was very well stocked and very well organized and clean as a whistle. Like all other Target stores, there's a great selection of most things one could ever need, and the prices are quite reasonable. The cashier I had was super super nice! Couldn't be more friendly. (On a side note, when did Target start charging for bags? I knew Issaquah did, but Northgate, too? Who knew?). What I disliked INTENSELY about this Target is the parking garage. It is horrid. Sure, it's free to park here and there are ample spots. But the lanes going up are immediately beside the lanes going down, and they are narrow, and the corners, sharp. What possibly could go wrong with this set-up?? LOL. Add in to the mix people jutting in and out suddenly from between cars, kids running amok, an irate driver or two in line... It's a nightmare. I hated it. If ever I'm back in this area, I might go to the mall across the street for a bit first and park there, then just walk to this Target, leaving my car in the mall lot. This mega complex combined with Petco and Best Buy makes for a very dense experience. The elevator and parking is on multiple levels and you can gain access to Target from two of those levels. Because this is a multi-level Target they have the car escalators as well but you need to really park on a level that you can bring your cart to. I was coming from the south so I didn't actually use that parkade and I just ended up parking across the street since I didn't really need to use a cart to bring to my car, only a cart to carry the shopping items. Crossing the street is a pain here when we parked at the bank. For what it's worth this is a full blown Target not like the City Target in the city that is much smaller. As soon as my Target Red Card is paid off, I'm never shopping here again. I came in with my boyfriend after signing the lease on our first apartment, and we had a gift card to spend here for $200. We budgeted and got just enough for everything to be covered by the card plus a couple dollars after tax, then at checkout the cashier offered the company's credit card with 15% off if we signed up. Sounded cool, we figured that we'd just sign up and pay with the gift card still. But no, then the cashier told us that in order to get the 15% off, we had to put it on our account. AFTER. THE. PURCHASE. So whatever, we get home and call to pay it off with the gift card number and set up the account. First off, we can't set up the account until our card has arrived in the mail, according to the representative. Second, we can totally pay with gift card, but only in-store. Whatever. We'll just go back. So we did, and then the service desk person tells us that actually no, gift cards can't be used to make payments on the credit card. A *company gift card*, can't be used towards a *company credit card*. At this point we're fuming. We were tricked into this card, because the cashier had left out some essential details to make us sign up. (She KNEW we were going to pay with gift card, I had it pulled out the entire time) So now we're just figuring that we'll learn from our mistake and pay off the $200 over time. Well. Guess. WHAT. The website is broken, the phone representatives are impossible to reach AND clueless about their job, and I have only successfully logged into my account once. When my card finally arrived (it went to my previous address?? Not the one I put in???) it wouldn't let me set up the account, and even the phone representative was stumped. A couple weeks later when I NEEDED to get on and make a payment (by the way, if you miss it your credit score takes a blow) it finally mysteriously worked. Now a month later it's not letting me log in, and it's asking security questions that I never selected, and I know this because they don't apply to my life even remotely. So I'm making payments via phone, and cheque. Because THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is Target logic. I'm already warning people to stay away from their garbage credit program. Drive up service is absolute trash and the middle aged dude at guest services needs to be replaced with someone with actual customer service skills. I ordered an eye compress for drive up and 2 hours later it says processing still, so I decide to drive there, go inside, and pick it up myself. I get to guest services and the man tells me that because my order still says processing that I cannot pick it up. I tell him it's been processing for two hours and he explains that they have lots of orders and that it can take up to four hours to process. Mind, four hours would put my pick up time AFTER THE STORE CLOSES. He tells me that I can go to the aisle and get it myself and then cancel my drive up order after it processes. So I go to the aisle it's located at, which he app states is in stock in aisle A11, and alas, there is not a single eye compress. I search for an associate to help me in case I'm just blind and she searches several aisles to find it to no avail. She apologizes and says that the eye compress is probably in the back in the process of being packed up for my drive up. At this point I'm like are you serious??? The guest services man told me I can't pick up my item even if I am there in person to get it! And when I go to the aisle per his instruction there isn't even anything there! Hey Target I always try to support Brick and Mortar shopping because I feel it's important that we have that option. Sadly the Northgate locations electronic department was not able to answer any questions I had I the Nintendo Switch I purchased. They didn't know anything about the product or the extended warranty they tried to sell me. Then as I was waiting online to give you all my money I lowered my mask to take a sip of water as I was very thirsty. I had brought the water bottle in with me and I only lowered my mask for a second to relieve my dry throat and mouth. It's not like I wanted to lower the mask for those tenths of seconds, I had no choice as I had been waiting to check out for over ten minutes. Only one checker was working. So understaffed I kinda understand, but to then have a mask enforcement officer with his pressed red target shirt, berate me for taking a sip of water in front of multiple people is about where I have to wonder where the common sense is. I was told it is Targets policy that a mask can not be lowered for even a second to take a drink of water. If I didn't like it I should leave the store immediately. So mind you every shopper online agreed this kid is a idiot. Yet the cashier agreed this is the stores policy? So I have made my purchase of almost $500 that includes multiple games and accessories, which I full intend to find at other stores even possibly online so I can return these items. OMG. A Target that's TWO FLOORS?! Heaven! This is one of the few Targets in WA that has two floors 'and' a escalator for your cart to travel up/down the floors. Most kids seem to love to come just to play with that cart machine. In the past year or so, they've been expanding the store to be more of a 'super target' with food and some produce. I don't understand the vitriol for this particular location. I've never had a problem coming here or finding parking in their garage. Exiting the parking garage is sometimes a pain because of the stupidity of other drivers, not the layout. I usually don't require assistance from their employees and the cashiers that I've encountered have ranged from pleasant to super-friendly. I was admonished for taking photographs of their Domo-kun displays during Halloween and told that I needed to cease immediately. She got a little intense with me and I didn't feel like arguing. I finished taking my few photographs (yeah, I'm a rebel) and then left. They usually will have what I need at a decent price whether it's cleaning supplies or household goods. And I like rummaging through the oddly priced clearance clothing for my niece. She enjoys the little parcels from her cool aunt in Seattle who sends her "neat" clothes. And she hasn't reached that age where she's going to be so self-conscious of labels that it matters. I hope she never does. PS. I want to state that the escalators are indeed cool. Employees weren't sure where stuff was. Up stairs down stairs, we were looking for a specific item, one employee sent us down stairs sure it was there and when we couldn't find it we asked another employee we were sent back upstairs. We went around for about 20 mins during a busy holiday weekend, not packed to the brink busy though. I guess since they got stuff everywhere and constant displays moving with seasonal staff who may not know the store lay out fully it's hard to keep track/know correctly where stuff is. Especially when there's holiday stuff everywhere. Finally we asked again and this time the lady looked it up on her scanner, gave us the aisle letter/number and guess what it was downstairs. So back down we go. Maybe it would have saved us sometime if they looked at the scanner the first time, oh well at least we found the item we wanted. The positive part of our experience was the cashier who was really patient at handling the delicate nature of some of the items we bought were, the care and time spent on that was nice. There is a large multi story parking lot but the way the street is and the where the entrance starts is kinda odd. Hard to explain. Worst experience, a lot of the associates have no experience, no customer service, no respect, no negotiation skills. Most of them don't even know how to assist a customer. I asked for a insulated bag, I ended up purchasing a cooler. Most insulated bags with the size I was looking for are just as the same price as the cooler. I had way better experience elsewhere.
