This target is so poorly run. I kept thinking it would get better, but I hasn't in months. I'm accepting that they don't need or want my business. My most recent example of the craziness.... I ordered a drive up order since I have a sick toddler. I forgot items and made a second order 30 minutes later. The second order was ready 5 hours later and had to be picked up by the end of the day. The first order was ready the next morning and I had til Friday to pick it up. Why the first one was ready second, I do not understand. I ordered 2 guaranteed pickup since I needed the help with the groceries, but when I arrived, the drive up "is unavailable." They could easily just turn off the feature as other stores have done. Save the headache and go to Methuen, or just skip all targets. read more

This Target is a total disaster, even considering it's in New Hampshire. I am not exaggerating when I saw there are stacks of boxes and/or carts in every aisle. To the point where it's likely a safety hazard. How management allows this is beyond me. The layout is weird and doesn't follow the same format most Target stores seem to follow. The selection of beer and wine sucks and is randomly scattered through the grocery section. The only thing this Target has going for it is self-checkout. Even the lack of sales tax doesn't make it worth the trip here. I'd go to any of the Massachusetts locations before this one. read more

I am rating this Target location in the town of Salem,New Hampshire. I am not able to leave zero stars so I am leaving one. I have visited this store several times, I have visited Targets in almost 20 different states, and this is the absolute worst Target that I have been in. My mother and I were purchasing three items, one did not scan so we looked for the assistance of a manager. There were two female managers in front of customers service with their arms crossed. One completely ignored us when asking for help and the second had an unacceptable attitude (and mind you it is not just now due to Christmas time). She clearly did not want to help us and was very invested in pointing out and arguing with my mother to prove her point that the register we were using was not a cash register and only card even though it did not specify, instead of helping us with the issue. Her attitude was very unprofessional and pointed out that one of the items that was bagged already, was not scanned when I had scanned, it was displayed on the screen. As a 52 year retail manager, recently retired, I'm sick and tired of target trying to force me to use self checkout. We were buying a few small items the other day, and had to wait over 15 minutes because the customer in front of us had a large food order (why I don't know, guess they never heard of market basket). Target only had 1, that's right, one, uno register open. By the time it was our turn, there were 6 other customers behind us and target still didn't open another register. This is why I like Amazon so much. Forget Walmart, the clientele there are not the best people you want to be near. We use to love target even though, at times especially during the holidays, the store is completely trashed, with no hope of ever catching up. I really needed an item - today. Searching area stores, the closest that had what I was looking for was this location. It had been some time since my last visit ( which wasn't pleasant). I told myself just go & keep an open mind. The parking lot was packed . I've been trying to avoid crowds but where I really needed the item today, I really didn't have a choice. As soon as I entered the store looked like a cyclone had hit. .. stock everywhere. Like people or staff just shopped & dropped? It's a large store & I'd been on the road for awhile... So I made a stop at the restroom... Let me add that this is the same restroom shared with associates. Well, I won't get into all the details...but same situation. Toilet paper all over just thrown or dropped, no soap, sanitizer, towels, air dryers -filthy sinks NOTHING! Deplorable & absolutely gross! I left and went over what is supposed to be a sanitizer station.. at one time it was one. No longer. I can't even put into words how disgusted I felt. Realizing that I had an old pack of wipes in my purse I fished through..they'd dried up some - but something is better than nothing. So now of course I'm upset & kicking myself for ordering and prepaying for the item... Because I really want leave. I made my way up front to where the sign points for Order Pick-up.... There was 1 associate and a loooooong line of people not social distancing returning things. No one at order pickup. I got into the line hoping someone would show up.... Nope. I asked associates who were standing around - semi masked and doing nothing explaining that I was only there to pick up a prepaid item & to please assist. Interesting how a customer speaking directly to an associate makes absolutely no difference - they keep walking! So finally I saw 2 who had jackets marked curbside pickup.... Does that work? I got the attention of one & she said she'd be right back.... Well, here we go again while I stood & stood waiting. Then I found out " she" was on break This was so long, creating what could be exposure to the virus that I decided to phone the store from the counter. Finally we were getting somewhere? And then someone showed up, found the order & that was it. No thank you for shopping at Target etc. Nothing.... I left thinking : What just transpired? All I was doing was trying to pick up a prepaid item! Had I had the option for curbside pickup I would have taken it.... Somehow the item I needed while checking out it wouldn't work. I was forced to enter the store. * I am upset & outraged at the condition of the store! We all are aware of COVID...are we not? There are spaces marked as to where to stand in the event a brain can't equate 6'.... If they are going to be open restrooms, they must be kept clean at all times.... Soap, towels - air dryer as a last resort. Management appears to be non-existent.... Or they just don't train their associates? It's ridiculous TARGET, you can respond with an apology all you'd like. Not that it makes any difference - or that I'll be missed, but I will never return. I am FINISHED shopping at this location. read more

This store beats the band. Still empty paper shelves, limit 1 per person. A few doors down at MB, everything is fully stocked, no longer limits. The best yet is here to come: Target employees are observing all Covid 19 protocols, and while they ask customers to wear masks, they are not ENFORCING IT. Whole families, which are always large with unruly children- ARE NOT WEARING MASKS. And as in pre covid days, they're running their .mouths, usual temper tantrums, and I mean by school aged children, running crazy in the aisles, etc, etc, etc. And as aggravating this behavior to shoppers and ignored by staff, being maskless is an unacceptable health risk to all. I notice a lot of young people throughout store, and I understand their reluctance toward these shoppers, HOW ABOUT SECURITY GUARDS AT THE DOOR. I understand that New Hampshire hasn't got the ridged guidelines that Massachusetts has, but the Target Corp is requiring masks. And before anyone says it is against their Constitutional rights, PEOPLE - WE ARE IN A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC - Governments and Businesses are allowed to enforce Covid 19 protocols - States of emergency, as in a worldwide pandemic, supersedes your "Constitutional Rights." read more

Love the new renovations, which include a Starbuck's Coffee inside which replaced the old snack concessions. The now have a huge food/ grocery sections. Not sure how this will go over as there are 2 Market Baskets, and a Shaw's within a stone's throw of this store. They moved everything around so still trying for find everything. Many registers open and I rarely have to wait, unlike Walmart. read more

Store is clean, recently remodeled. I probably go here 3 times a week for little things here and there. They now offer Shipt, which is a solid service to have someone pick up stuff at Target and drop it off at your house (highly recommend it). The Starbucks is convenient. I like their clothing section for men, it's reasonably priced and stuff generally fits well. The only reason this wasn't five stars is because there are always lines. I don't think I have ever been to this location and waited less than 5 minutes Update: it's almost impossible to move around this target. Boxes, pallets everywhere. Displays in the center of tiny aisles. Hopefully this changes after the holiday season, but boy is it bad. Frequently find items out of stock that used to be in stock. I usually hate going out the day after Christmas but we had gift cards and I was on a mission to get a coffee pot after breaking mine a month ago and hating spending $5 a day on coffee someone else made. So we headed out to Target and were more than happy with the results. And the place was really really clean! Here's a rundown of what we got: -Coffee Pot $9.57 -Starbucks Gourmet 12oz Coffee $4.39 -Floor Lamp w/ 2 lights $13 -2 Packs of Lightbulbs $4 each -Baby Nail Clipper $2.59 We had a $20 gift card and it certainly went a long way. And as busy as they seemed, busy but no mob, we got to a register and were checked out in no time after we were done browsing. read more

I'm not going to get into their selection or their prices. Those are pretty standard from big red box to big red box. Admittedly that is the beauty of box stores. You won't get the personalized services, say, shopping for clothes as you would at a tailor of Saville Row but know what they've got before you go in and if you don't like it you can go screw before you even walk through the door. Seriously people, why complain about places like target? You know what they have and how much it costs. if you don't like it save yourself some time and don't go it. At any rate. I'm giving this target four stars because of the staff. My sense of humor can be an, erm, acquired taste and yet they always crack a smile at my dry wit. Thanks manager/supervisor Lorie for having such a nasty attitude because you didn't want to put ANY EFFORT in inquiring about the item with the 30% off sticker I WANTED to purchase. It kept ringing up pricier than what the shelf read, yet you didn't look it up in the system nor sent any employee to verify. All you did was insist aggressively that the price was correct without double checking. I hope your unkindness & unprofessionalism didn't have anything to do with the fact that I was wearing a shirt with two black men on it; but that's a whole other story. Worst Target I ever came to. Very disorganized and employees as well as manager (Matt) do not know anything about customer service. This toy house had only 2 left under the sign that I attached here in this review. Matt the manager stated that the sign had still been there since black friday and we are on day 8 of December! Im here from out of town trying to buy my little nephew his Christmas present and unfortunately it was ruined because of a mistake on Target's negligence because Matt the manager refused to honor the price. Feeding my appetite to shop and subtly avoiding work, I enter the Target parking lot thanks to its big, red, mesmerizing logo. Do I need to be here? Kinda, sorta, no, yes, can't spend money, want to stimulate the economy! Of course they stick cute bags at the front door. Bags to women are like magnets to refrigerators. [hrmmm...you could combine that analogy: bags to women are like Shaina (a woman of course) to refrigerators]. First item I pick up - a fun washed leather clutch for $18. Score. This Target has LOADS of clothing. Every rack is stacked in the front section. You can barely pull out the item that you wish to pluck from the middle coz it's so tight. But, you prevail. You pluck. And you, thinking you won't grab more than three items, end up with an armful. Next stop: changing room. And where's the changing room? In the back corner of the store of course. And what do you have to walk past to get to said changing room? At least two dozen additional stacked racks of clothes ON SALE for 50 to 75% off. Holy cow! If I ever needed a grocery shopping cart in a department store, that time would be now. Grab grab grab. Change change try on change. Had to use the fitting rooms in a few phases since they only allow six items at a time... I'm always thankful when things don't fit. At all. Instead of leaving the store in 20 minutes as planned and with 15 different articles of clothing, I leave in 50 with 7. It was a give and take of time and money that I was willing to sacrifice for the good of our economy. You can thank me later, store. read more

I go to this location alot. I went there last night to buy a b-day present for my mom. I ended up buying 3 books (2 for her & 1 for me), candy, body scrub, gift bag, bow, tissue paper, card, & a funky sushi magnet for $48 total. Not bad at all. I love that everything in Target is fairly cheap, but yet it's a much cooler store than Wal-Mart. They have a good (& cheap) book & dvd section. The clothes are even totally wearable as opposed to other discount chains which I would never wear clothes from (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc.). The also have alot of cool home, kitchen, bed, & bath type items for cheap money. I love the dollar section near the front door best of all because I always seem to find something cool for a buck. read more

This is a good Target, with a large space and an inventory to match, as well as an equally large grocery section. I probably had more employees greet me and ask if I needed help here than any other Target I have as yet visited. I'll use the same term here for getting into and out of their parking lot as I use for a lot of stores on Route 28 - CRAZY - especially on weekends. Going north, there's a not-obvious "Batcave" entrance in front of the store complex immediately south of it. Getting out requires traffic-light patience. read more

We end up shopping at this target often because we live right on the border and NH is tax free. On top of that, Target offers 5% off with their card, so most things end up being cheaper here than they would elsewhere. The store is generally clean, and staff friendly. I have even been asked here if I needed help in the soda aisle. Some might be annoyed by this, but I saw it was an employee actually caring about a customer; a rare thing these days for sure! If I had a complaint, it would be that some items get picked clean pretty quick. This isn't exactly shocking, as I am sure others have the same idea we do what with the tax free mentality. read more

5 star to my previous experiences with targets in general: variety selections of designed goods, friendly greeting from staff. We loved the "trade-in" program they held on November 2013, to trade in an old iPad for $200 store credit. So we happily traded two of our iPads here in this store, and upgraded to the new iPad air 64G, for $699. It was a breeze. Zero star for the return experience on November 20, 2013. In short: iPad air screen has tint. Request return. Denied. Reason: opened iPad with nothing wrong staff can see. no exchange, no return. Went to Apple store. Back with manufacture faulty product confirmation, request return. Denied. Reason: opened iPad. No return, plus still can't see anything wrong. Exchange only. Went out for fresh air. Back to store. Request exchange. No stock. Cannot exchange. Now can do return. Edit: Money was back in account on Saturday. That's Target customer service. 7 staff in 4 hours which equals 28 working-hour to complete one, faulty product, return. Bottom line: never do business with customer service at this target. Never buy electronics from Target. Once opened, no return. You might not be lucky as we were that the product happened to be out of stock. ----------------- Details: The screen of iPad starts showing a tint on one side. It bothers us very much that we did extensive research online, asked friends to see, check under different light environment on different days and we believe it's indeed a product defect. iPads are not designed to be uneven screened. Since it's less than 14 days of our purchase date, we decided to return it. Plus I've seen a lot of nice reviews regarding Target's customer service. Unfortunately this is not one of them. Long story short. We visited the customer service at Target THREE time in one afternoon, visited Apple store across the highway once to get a confirmation of defected product letter, explaining to at least SEVEN different staffs, who together gave us such a hard time, unbelievably hostile, FOUR hours of all the SEVEN people's labor, that is 7 by 4=28 TWENTY-EIGHT working hours, to finish ONE single defected-product-return transaction. The policy is, as we were told, again and again, by all team members we encountered, "Opened electronics cannot be returned", even if it's confirmed by the manufacture that it is defected. Because the box is opened, and "your figure print is on there", "all your personal data is there", and none of the customer service and electronic department staff can tell it's defected, "Three of us checked the screen, we can't see the tint". (But what did the Apple Genius girl told us? "It took me, like three seconds." ) Every possible way to prevent a customer to return a defected $700 iPad. We've been told, by all the staff that we dealt with, according to the vague return and exchange policy hanging on the wall, that a return is not possible, at all, even for an defected product. No return. End of the story. So we have no choice but to accept an exchange of the same exact iPad Air 64G, with the risk of taking an defected product again. Ship prefect product only Apple! Save us time! Too bad they didn't have it in this store. Not in any near stores. It was until that time, return finally became an option. In less then 10 minutes, all done. ------------- Above all, thank you Dave who gave us two Starbucks beverage cards as we were finally leaving the store; thank you Antonio at electronic department who suggested us to have Apple issue a letter, and for your effort to try to have it returned; thanks other staff who greeted us along the way, the lady who came to offer help several times while we were standing and waiting for Christina to come back for the "exchange", though she never showed up; thanks to the security guard I know you were watching us back all the time as we saw the customer service staff told you to do so. I shop at Target frequently, and I have had minor issues at times. This store is very often very busy. Kudos to them, and especially their staff during this tough time dealing with the panic from Covid-19 . I have not seen items in demand overpriced , no price gouging here ! Yes, they are often out of -panic buys , and items that are needed. But you see everyone working so hard, restocking what they get in on deliveries. Most important though, their employees have remained calm and pleasant , and they stop what they are doing to help you, check to see if what you need is going to be available ( from what is in the storeroom ). I have witnessed customers very frustrated, almost angry , talk to staff, and walk away calm . I am impressed. read more

Great store. Clean and quiet, as others have said. Their grocery section is rather small. Yet, it isn't a Super or Greatland, so I didn't really expect a full grocery store. Just stay away from reserving a video game. Except for the managers, the workers didn't seem to know how that worked (with the pre-order/reservation cards). They are currently remodeling some of the store, including the café, which I am pretty sure will become a Starbucks. read more

Went to buy a paper shredder at the Salem, NH store, they only had three in the store. Considering the size of the store, I would expect more of a variety. I was also looking for a cover that goes over a dish when microwaving, they didn't have that either, found one in the Methuen, Ma store, they did have a very good variety of paper shredders. When are these stores going to realize, cookies are sold at the grocery store, paper shredders, a good selection, should be available at Target. read more

Target is Target. Their prices are generally very good. But here is what you won't find out unless it happens to you: I lost my wallet at the Salem NH store - it was just before Christmas, and I actually left it at the checkout while distracted. When I discovered it missing I actually had no idea where it could have been and I thought it had been stolen from my bag (there had been that opportunity.) I spent a lot of money replacing its contents and dealing with stress. Target Salem called me 7 weeks later to tell me they'd had it in their safe. I had every kind of ID in there imaginable; Target could not be bothered to pick up the phone and contact me. They didn't really apologize and the front end manager's excuse was that, as of the date they'd finally called me, she had only known about the wallet for TWO WEEKS. Despite emails to Target Corporate, I never got anything more than a form letter. These people caused me a lot of anxiety and cost me over $100 right before Christmas. And they don't care, not the Salem store and not Corporate. I will not do business with this type of store. A stranger on the street would have done better at helping me out. read more

Target recently changed the way debit/charge cards with chips are processed. Not one cashier over the last 4 weeks can explain why a PIN number is not prompted, and how the charge will be processed. Just excuses. Not one associate had the slightest notion of what customer service means - not one said, " let me call a manager over and get an answer". Not one. They shrugged, they explained they had no idea. period. end of conversation. Target - get your act together! read more

checking out on Saturday, August 17th with a gentleman named Paul working at register #10. the poor kid had to deal with 3 items with no tags. he tried to look for the # inside a pair of shoes. When he called (blonde) supervisor? over she looked inside shoe, found it , and rudely said to him. "you know how to do this". I felt awful for him. He was so nervous he was visibly shaking. He was super friendly and didnt deserve to be spoken to like this. If his manager reads this- he should be commended for a job well done. read more

Friendly staff, however, all the hard working nice team members seem to leave. The Manager at Starbucks is in adequate and seems to be lazy. The rest of the group are always friendly, talkative, and extremely engaged. I am thankful that there is a Starbucks here while I shop, however, I go without my coffee when the manager is there. I like shopping here, I just wish they would keep some of the better people and got rid of the not as good people. read more
