We had a difficult situation with an Amazon return which we did at Kohls. I spoke with Amazon support who redirected me to Kohl's support and there was a night and day difference between the quality of support from Amazon vs. Kohls. The chat support was great and redirected me to the store. I was skeptical, but took the chance. Deb, the store manager was very understanding and went above and beyond helping me resolve my issue. Even the people at the counters were nice and friendly. So, they were approachable unlike other stores. Dough who mans the Amazon returns at the back is a nice guy. And he worked with Deb to get my issue resolved. IMHO they did not really need to take the trouble to help someone who did not even purchase at the store for this instance (although we are regulars), but they did. This is the sort of thing which should be appreciated in a world where everything is done by bots and online chats where they don't really care about the customer and like to keep tossing you between departments and/ or companies. Apparently no one's bothered to fix the signs over the two counters. This was my second time attempting to pick up the same order. I cannot for the life of me get a successful pickup order from Target. Is it a defective online account? Is it this store? Not sure. Multiple emails saying my purchase is ready for pickup, and the store can't locate it. I gave them my drivers license, to ensure they spelled my name right, still nothing. And, for some reason, they think I'm going to come back a third time and bring in my laptop for them to scan a barcode for the order. They've some underlying long unresolved bad assumption or glitch in their ordering system.

I came in for a simple trip--just a few items--and was met with a store that seemed to have completely given up on its customers. ​Every single register and self-checkout on the first floor was shut down. No staff, no machines, nothing. I was forced to trek to the second level just to find a way to pay for my items. When I finally got there, the only thing available was self-checkout, and because the rest of the store was essentially closed, the line stretched on forever. ​It is pathetic that a major retailer expects its customers to hunt through multiple floors just to find a functioning terminal. I don't work here. I am not on the payroll. Yet, Target expects me to do the labor of checking myself out after waiting in a line that management clearly doesn't care about fixing. ​The lack of staffing and the complete disregard for a customer's time is a glaring weakness in how this location is run. You are failing at the most basic requirement of a retail business: letting people buy things. This needs to be addressed ASAP because the current "service" is non-existent.

Technology could help with self checkouts perhaps, although that might irritate some consumers. The folks here who do work are excellent. It's not their fault, and always have found service here good. Sales aren't what they used to be. Admittedly we are in an era of inflation. I also wish they have more active men's clothing. Still they are great for colognes, suits, and quite often dress shoes. Macys is probably the best department store. If you're in the area this works.
