Second time was recently I purchased tables but table delivered drawers don't close properly?? And 3 weeks after purchase still not fixed. Warning: be very careful what you buy here! My 92 year old mother bought a kitchen set that was final sale. She realized when she got home that it wouldnt fit. She called 4 hours after she purchased it and they said she needed to speak to the general manager and he would not be in until the next day. We spoke to him and he was sooo rude that he hung on us. DO NOT BUY FROM Ashley Homestore! It's a nightmare. Their furniture is not even that cheap... I bought two items: a counter height table and a sideboard (~$500) just to have them arrive both with damage. It was also a hassle to send them back- they won't even schedule a pick up for you (they are assuming that UPS will pick it up when it does). But how am I supposed to know when to put it out/ when will they come if they don't schedule a time? I had to call them back to issue me another tracking number to have UPS pick it up because UPS had already attempted 3 times. Also as a warning-- they only give you a 15% discount if it has any damage (regardless of the type of damage it has). The damage on sideboard was so visible (top front) that I would've only kept it if they gave me 75% off, but they only offered 15% off, so it wasn't worth it. UPDATE: It was such a hassle to get a new tracking number from UPS, the guy told me- "You are all set- you can just discard the item"... ???? I WAS ON THE PHONE FOR 1 HR and he told me to JUST DISCARD THE ITEM... and that I will receive the refund 7-10 days from now, but no confirmation. DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY'S. I would give it ZERO stars if I could. I have never experienced such poor customer service when it comes to addressing a warranty issue. I've been trying to work w/Ashley's Customer Care in regards to my white leather sofa & recliner for far too long now. I purchased the set in 2022. The problem started within the 1st mo. or so. Here we are in 2023 & still unresolved. I have 2 sections that immediately were color stained within the mo. or so, by normal usage (people just sitting on the sofa or recliner). Pretty sure the sofa & recliner had not been pretreated before leaving the warehouse. Quality leather shouldn't stain from clothing like that. I've owned a light buttercream leather sofa for 5 years that I purchased from Jordan's furniture in the past & it never absorbed the colors of clothes. I've asked Ashley's several times to help resolve this matter because it's covered by warranty, all I continue to receive is the run around. Every time I call, they say someone has called & left a message. Not true. I've only received 1 email & 1 voicemail from Ashley's & that was in the very beginning of this ordeal. They requested pictures. In response to their request, I had sent 2 emails with pictures, & a follow up phone call. Nothing came about. I called over & over & kept getting the same response which was that someone will get back to me. On 1-24-23, I had to forward that same email w/pics to Ashley's again because they couldn't find the 1st email (both emails sent to emailus@ashleycustomercare.com & GuestServices2@ashleyhs.com). I did receive confirmation from an Ashley Customer Care rep that the email was received. Still no resolution. FYI- all I did was forward original email to same email address it was originally sent it to, all while I was on the phone w/the rep. Funny how they can see emails when you stay on the phone w/them to confirm that they receive it. This is embarrassing. I won't let anyone sit on the middle or left section of the sofa worried if someone sits on that side of the sofa with any colored clothing, the sofa will absorb the colors. No one should have to worry so much about what guests are wearing while they sit on your furniture. Ashley's - Salem, NH had the same white sofa on display for a while. I didn't see it color stained & I'm sure plenty of people have sat on it. I was one of them. 3-4 mo. ago Ashley's finally sent out a 3rd party co. to supposedly resolve the matter. Guy shows up at 8pm (when he was supposed to arrive no later than 6), saying he was told to come clean it. He didn't even clean it. He only came in with a cell phone. No cleaning products of any kind. He took pictures & said he will report back to Ashley's within 10 days. Since the pointless visit, I called Ashley's a couple of times & was told that they still haven't heard from the 3rd party co. All they did was continue to give me fake apologies & lies about how they're going to have someone call me back to resolve. Nothing was been done. Before anyone says "Maybe she's not a clean person", my entire living room is mainly white with black, gold, & grey details. I keep it sharp looking. Called again today (8/4/23), was told they called and left a vm back on July 11. Which is a lie. I did not receive a voicemail from Ashley's that day. I check my vm daily. Ashley's tends to be the only co./people that claim to leave me a voicemail & somehow I never receive one. I have no problem receiving voicemails, or any other msgs from anyone else. I kept asking what number they're calling. Reps don't answer me when I ask. They carry on w/ the "I'm sorry". BTW, they just informed me that there is nothing they can do. They're claiming it is heat damage based on that unprofessional useless visit from their 3rd party contractor. I have central AC/Heat. I keep the temp in my place between 68-72 degrees all year round. Make that make sense. It was never a heat damage issue. It is an Ashley QC issue. Anything not to hold themselves accountable. Never shop here. They are REFUSING to give me my money back for furniture that was never delivered. I have attached a copy of my cancellation invoice where it clearly says I paid CASH, and a check in the amount of $2,609.96 was issued on 02/22/22. I never received this refund check. Matt, the manager told me the new owner is refusing to write any refund checks. I have contacted Channel 7 News and Solve It 7. With the recent reviews on here, looks like there is a lot of bad business happening at this store. Avoid it. My husband and I purchased $500 worth of gift certificates for this location for my parents, who just purchased a home in New Hampshire, at the end of February 2022. Less than six months later, the store is refusing to honor the gift certificates for my parents because of an alleged change in ownership. The gift certificates are not expired and do not mention any carve out for changes in ownership. Do yourself a favor and avoid this dishonest store. As an update, my husband emailed the business owner as suggested here with proof of purchase and all that happened is the business confirmed it won't honor the gift certificates we paid for. The Salem NH store was great experience, super helpful. But trying to get warranty repairs done through the corporate end is like pulling teeth. I've been calling these people for over a month now trying to get my couch repaired and they have never gotten back to me or my wife. 48 hours ago I talked to some lady in corporate after arguing with customer service to talk to a manager. And she had told me I would be hearing from someone in 48 hours. I told if my wife and I don't hear from someone I'm taking to the Internet. So with that said, here we are. Buyer Beware! We bought a Sterns Foster mattress! After a few months there is a Giant pothole in the middle of mattress! Customer Service rub around for six months! Well the Ashely tech showed up on time and they communicated well. Again the issue is the quality. As it turned out, my nice leather sofa is not as good quality as I thought. She replaced the leather and she told us that this most likely will happen again if you do not cover the head rest with something. She tried to tell is that it is "our fault" as the oil from our hair, or shampoo made this happen. She encouraged us to cut out a square from the old leather and make a patch to cover and protect the new. So long Ashely's. At least we have Bernie & Phyl's. read more

Me and my fiancé just had the most horrible experience at Ashley furniture in Salem New Hampshire. We walked in wasn't greeted until we actually started looking at furniture. A sales associate walked past us and didn't even speak. The sales person that spoke to us when we were looking at furniture told us if we need anything to let her know, but she never even followed up with us or assess any type of discovery questions as far as what are we looking for today? When we were looking around the show room two sales reps were sitting on a sectional on their phones one sales rep was behind the finance counter looking at videos on the computer. I haven't been to Ashley furniture in over three years since I moved to Massachusetts and I will have to say this was the most disappointing customer service I have ever had. And I normally have gotten my furniture from Ashley furniture over the years. read more

Ashley's has disappointed multiple times. I placed an order over Labor Day weekend for platform beds for a new house I'm moving into but when delivery day came they brought me a damaged piece for 1 of the 4 beds and they didn't bring the slats for the other 3 beds. I guess they expected the kids to sleep on the floor with the mattress. Anyway then they told me they will send it but when the guy came a second time for the delivery he said he didn't have the correct pieces, so did nothing and left. Called and complained again they said they would reduce my bill by $150 but haven't seen that happen yet on the card activity online and they would send out this time the right stuff. Lo and behold on the 3rd time the delivery comes and again they don't have the right slats. Maybe it's too difficult to send the right stuff from the Warehouse I don't know. Must be a complicated process. To top it off the piece they brought to replace the damaged piece itself is damaged. Now I called and I'm waiting to hear back hopefully on the 4th attempt they can get it right but I wouldn't make that bet. They need to make this right. It's been over 2 months now. RUN FAR FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!! What a nightmare from start to finish. It's not a short story sadly. Stick with me! I Purchased a new home in September 2020. I purchased a dining set, mattress and king bedroom set from Ashley financed. Each piece of furniture had a different amount of months with financing which is extremely confusing and I also paid 10% down which is required for any financing, they don't tell you that until the end. The manager fixed this for me which gave me hope. But still was a mess from there. My bedroom set came quickly. Very early September. It came damaged; deep scratch on nightstand, broken chest drawer and broken brackets on the dresser so the door wouldn't close properly. It was always flinging open each time you took a deep breathe near it. During this delivery they smashed a light in my hallway bringing my mattress up my normal staircase. The light was left hanging and broken. They said someone would call me. I never heard from them and after two months of back and forth and very little follow up they begrudgingly took care of paying for the damage. Someone had to fix the dry wall, paint and have an electrician come to re wire the light. The damage was so bad that the light had to be moved to another location a few inches down. I made the decision to cancel the dining room table after two months and no updates on shipping status. They fought me every step of the way to cancel and tried to charge a 20% restocking fee. At the end of October 2020 a tech came to fix the damaged bedroom set. He fixed the chest drawer but said the nightsstand needed to be replaced as the scratch was under the sealant and happened in manufacturing. The dresser cabinet needed new brackets which he didn't have and needed to be ordered. Again I was told someone would call me.. I waited... and waited. I called after two weeks. They said my nightstand was ordered and would arrive two months, they would call to schedule delivery and the brackets were on the way. I received the brackets in December and still no nighttstand. I was patient since it was the holiday. I gave them two full months. In January 2020 I called to follow up... They had no idea what I was talking about and tried to begin the process all over again. They tried to ask for Photos, told me they needed to send a tech to assess the damage. They had no record of my previous tech appointment. After 40 minutes on the phone they apparently realized what I was talking about and said the nightstand was ordered but they didn't have a delivery date. They said they would folow up with the manufacturer and would have an answer within 7 days. I asked when it was ordered since it should have been in November. They refused to tell me. They Said a tech could come to do the brackets in 8 weeks... insane. I emailed multiple times after that call to see when it would be here. All the while paying each month for this furniture. I never got a response. I was going to contact the credit card company to contest the charges due to the issues and lack of communication. I received a call at the end of January from a customer service manager, the only competent person there. She informed me this issues had fallen through for months and no one followed up. She told me the nightstand was never ordered even though they said it was.. she told me the night stand needed to come from overseas and would take an additional Two months. At this point I wanted off the hell ride. I requested to return everything. Since the furniture arrived damaged they agreed. They tried to offer me a resolution which was to give me the nightstand for free and then a $100 gift card to make another purchase at Ashley furniture which quite frankly I found insulting. After this experience the last thing I want to do is give more money to that hellhole. The long and short of it- after countless hours of calls, No follow up, ignored emails, damaged lights that I later saw had ripped a hole in my mattress (was never addressed), high stress, vacation hours used to accommodate their scheduling, crazy delivery wait times, and crappy customer service As my mother said "I wouldn't purchaset a toothpick from them". Thankfully Bernie and Phyls and Jordan's got my business. I can say my experience with them was AMAZING. white glove and easy!!! No stress!!! Go there and get your furniture or build Your own furniture. You could graduate from woodworking school in The amount of time Ashley takes to resolve a problem. The delivery was less than favorableThen I needed to wait on my pillows and they didn't give them to me, I called and they sent me out new pillows with a rip on the front. Do not purchase from any Ashley Home stores. This is a fair warning. They are one of the most unprofessional stores I've ever shopped at. First when I purchased my furniture they said I would receive a call back for the delivery day. That call never happened. I had to call a week later to book a delivery date. That was the first Red Flag. I made a online account to track my package and stay up to date only for there website to not work and it literally doesn't allow you to ever log back in or rest your password. They say they are having so called website issues. Third today I had a delivery day marked for delivery. The time was set from early morning hours to noon. I waited all morning going into mid afternoon only to call Ashley Store and be told the delivery wasn't coming. They where supposed to call me and tell me this and guess what, no call again. My time money and day was wasted. They had no care in the world. They said someone would call back To reschedule an appointment for delivery which I know is a fucking lie. Had a horrible experience at this location this morning. Came into the store with my father look for a mattress this morning, making a loop of the store when we saw the signs for the clearance section. Decided to take a look and followed the signs (with arrows) through a door. We were looking at a mattress when an man started yelling at us for being in the warehouse, we apologized initially but he continued making comments like we had done something wrong. I let him know we were just following the signs and he said "yeah that door is supposed to be closed". Instead of yelling at customers for following the signs that are up, maybe correct the signs? Or close the door that is supposed to be closed? He asked what we were looking for, we explained a new mattress but just wanted to check out the clearance section first. He responded by saying "sorry, we don't sell used mattresses". Just because someone is looking in the clearance section does not mean we are looking for used mattresses. It was such a bizarre thing to say. He was incredibly rude and made us feel terrible, we immediately left the store and I will not be returning. Went down the street to Bobs instead, had a great experience and walked away with a new mattress set; I recommend others skip this horrible place and do the same. read more

It arrived on time as she said. We looked a long time, at most of all the big name furniture stores, to find just the right kitchen set that would match our new kitchen we had just bought at the Lowe's store in Haverhill Mass. An actual nightmare. Their customer service is horrendous. Ashley contracts out their delivery services, which makes for an inevitable communication gap. The delivery men were inept. I'm talking, gum-chomping, rude, high school kids, who wouldn't make any effort that meant they might have to break a sweat. No one gives you their name at the customer service center, which I believe is on purpose. They are master finger pointers and no one takes any blame. Wanting to replace my entire living room with new furniture, I decided to go to Ashley's thinking it had well-made furniture. When being helped by the salesman, I told him that I needed a sofa, love seat, and oversized chair that would last and not break down. I was looking for leather. I was pointed to a product that I purchased and was told that it would last forever because it had springs in the cushions, and they wouldn't break down. This was important to me, as I have a back issue and to him this. When they finally delivered my furniture, there was a large scrape on the back of my oversized chairs that they tried to cover up. I requested it either be exchanged or fixed. it took almost 9 months, and it wasn't until I called to find they sent the new fabric to the wrong address. When I finally received the leather to the chair and the tech came out to fix the chair, I asked him about my sofa and loveseat; the cushions were already breaking down less than 6 months after ordering (not received, ordered). the tech informed me that there are no springs in the cushions. I called and spoke to the customer service manager, and they were to send someone out. the tech came out to look at my coffee table that was bubbling and to look at the cushions. After waiting several months of not hearing anything, I went into the store and spoke with the manager. Evidently, the store had been part of a franchise and they broke apart. they had no information on anything. they said they didn't take any of the paperwork with the separation. The manager told me he would call me back at the end of the week... He promised!! I laughed at that because I knew that he was just blowing smoke. it has now been almost 3 weeks and I am still waiting for that promised call. I called corporate and they said they can't get into my information because the Salem store has it locked. They are referring me to the upper management and from there I don't know what will happen. Everyone keeps saying that it's been over 12 months, but what they don't see is that I didn't receive my furniture until months later and I have called several times to get the repairs. The store does not accept returns of online orders and i have called the corporate number many times, waited on hold, and left a message as prompted (with no returned call, even though the recording says it will be returned within 48 hours). I just had the worst experience with Ashley HomeStore. I am new to Boston and I needed to buy a new dresser or chest. I've been living out of boxes while I looked for the right piece for what I need. I bought a chest of drawers that was supposed to have been delivered 2 weeks ago. The day before my first delivery, I got a call from Ashley saying that my chest had been damaged and they would expedite me a new one. A few days later, I get my delivery confirmation email find that their idea of expeditious is the same two-week window I waited for the first chest only to find out it was damaged. I'm not sure why the exact same timeline I'd already waited should be considered expeditious. My new delivery date was supposed to be tomorrow. HOWEVER I get another call saying that my chest had been damaged AGAIN! I call only to find that there is no compensation or real apology coming my way, just a myriad of excuses and finger pointing. After talking to the delivery service (which needs to be fired. What kind of incompetent delivery service damages furniture so regularly that it could happen to me twice in a row?!), and the Ashley HomeStore customer service team, I decided to cancel my order. At this level of incompetence, the last thing I was going to do was pay Ashley to suffer this severe inconvenience. I will never be purchasing from Ashley ever again. read more

The Salem store is staffed with dishonest people, especially the manager Matt H. I had a "defective" sofa for which I paid nearly $4000. after a few months the trashy quality began to show as 2 of the recliner footrests broke, upon getting on the floor and looking at the materials used, it was a thin piece of particle board. absolute trash! then one of the metal mechanisms bent cause the recliner to be stuck in the open position. talk about trash! luckily i bought the insurance! problem solved, or so i thought. After 3 visits from a tech, all of whom told me it was not a warranty issue but i had to resolve it with the store, i finally got the insurance company to agree to a full replacement for one of the broken recliners....ok, deal! I went to the Salem store with the authorization to replace the section of the sofa. great, Matt H. entered the order and said I'd be hearing from the delivery team soon. Soon came and went so I called Matt and he said, oh it will be there in April, again April came and went so I called again, he said, oh it will be there June 10th! well today is June 10th and still no recliner. so i called him again today and he said he'd look into it, I asked him for the order # which he gave me and then I used that # to check the online order tracking system for Ashley and surprise!!!!! the tool indicated there was no such order #. I"ve been dealing with this headache for over 1 year now....i'm not being difficult, in fact I've demonstrated super human patience. I just want them to honor their promise. I will NEVER buy anything from Ashley Furniture again, the quality is absolute trash and the store manager Matt, lacks integrity. do yourselves a favor and go to a reputable store, pay more money for better quality. Beware!! We bought several thousand in furniture from here three years ago. At the time we also purchased the extended protection plan. We were told "everything was covered"! Apparently this is not the case. Our bonded leather sectional started peeling. We called to get it fixed and was told they can't fix it. This is unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend Ashley to anyone. Worst experience with them buying several items since the end of July 2021. During the process, we asked to return a sofa couch, kept calling every single day asking for a refund, they would tell us OK we will have someone call you the next day. The next day would come and of course, no one calls. We stayed like this for a long period, ending it with personally going to the store to get our refund for the couch that was never delivered after 6 months of waiting. The one remaining issue has to do with a sofa table set that we had bought. It arrived a couple of months after we ordered it (which was fine), only for us to see that it has weird-looking tiny holes. The 3 of them! We did some digging and found that they are probably the work of some kind of beetle. We called and sent pictures, and were told that even if they were the work of beetles, the waxing of the table would have killed any insects. I didn't like the way they looked, so we asked for a replacement. 3 months later (which was this past Wednesday), we get the 3 new tables, only to find similar holes in them as well!!!! This is truly unprofessional. The ones we saw in the store didn't have them so we shouldn't have to accept ones that come with them. The delivery person (who wasn't affiliated with the store) said maybe it was a design. But there was no pattern whatsoever, so no it isn't part of the design. I don't care if whatever insect did it is dead, I simply don't want it. We didn't accept the new ones and returned the ones we had. No one called (of course!) about our refund. I want to escalate. We missed several periods of time where we could've bought different tables elsewhere but with the seasonal discount. Let me start off by saying that I would have given this place zero stars had it not been for the fact that they refunded my money in full, so I give them credit for that. So here's my story: We got a new house in 11/14. This house has a "sitting room" in it, only we have no furniture in it for people to actually sit on... It was fine for a while, but we planned on having my daughter's 3rd birthday party at the house so we wanted to furnish it by then so people had a place to sit. Her birthday is at the end of July. We went to AF at the end of May. See where this is going...? So there we were in the store at the end of May, looking for the perfect living room set. At first we were impressed that they had a fairly decent selection (we expected less because it's not one of the "bigger" furniture chains). After looking around for a while, we found what we liked. A sofa, love seat, chair, 2 end tables, 1 coffee table and a hutch type of a thing to put blankets and knick knacks in. The price was around $4,300 combined once you added in delivery and protection plans. To be honest, I thought that was high. I guess I was expecting Bob's prices... But we liked the set and were willing to pay, so the deal was made. The salesman (who used the same joke on me twice forgetting that he saw me earlier) assured me that I would have everything in 3-4 weeks time. That seemed about right. Normally I feel like it's around 2-3 weeks but this wasn't too far off from that, and it would still arrive before my daughter's party. Two weeks go by... No call. I call them and they tell me some of my things are on back order and now it's looking like they would be in around 5 weeks. At first I'm angry. Can you not check whether it's on back order or not BEFORE I purchase it and you tell me 3-4 weeks? Annoying. But anyway, one week wasn't killing anyone so I said okay I'll see it on the fifth week... Not quite. They informed me that it would "be in" on week 5 and then they would have to call me to set up delivery, which could be another week or two. Really...? At this point I'm very unhappy, but we liked the set and still needed furniture for when people arrived for the party at the end of July. We would still be able to make it by then. I call on week 5. Guess what...? "Sorry, it looks like those items on back order won't be in until the end of July." You're effing kidding me. I'm done at this point. She tells me I can call Sandy in the morning. She's apparently the store owner (oddly enough, the only positive review I can see on Yelp is by someone named Sandy... I have to wonder...) Sandy tells me, "Yeah, it's actually looking now more like mid-August." What happened in the short time frame from talking to the first girl to now talking with Sandy? Is this furniture being crafted in the Twilight Zone? What the heck is going on here? She tells me I can contact a guy named Joe and get a refund so the next day I go into the store to find Joe. I find him right away and he refunds me with no questions asked. Like I said, I give them credit for the refund. Not that it makes up for everyone standing at my kid's 3rd birthday. In closing, I'd like to recap: I made a purchase in late MAY. I was told I would get it sometime in mid-AUGUST. That's a quarter of a year spent waiting. My guess is it would have kept getting pushed out though. I may not have seen that stuff until Christmas. Or maybe never... read more

We've purchased over 10,000 dollars worth of furniture from this company over 5 years. They wouldn't sell me 4 yards of fabric to make an ottoman to match our sectional. The one they sold with this sofa was WAY too big for the space. So we had to make our own. This company manufactures their own furniture and has fabric just sitting in a warehouse somewhere. They don't make exceptions for loyal customers. They don't care about your loyalty. They don't care about their customers. I will never shop here again. The last couch we bought broke in less than one year. They came to fix it and it still never sat right. They basically said it wasn't their problem anymore. They are a terrible company in general. Don't waste your time at this store. Walked around looking for someone to help me out for a good five minutes. Once I found someone she seemed bothered that I was asking a simple question. Delivery takes forever. They dont seem to be very helpful and not interested in making the customer happy. Terrible experience. Will not be returning and will not recommend others to shop here! read more
