After a few days of appliance hunting - Lowe's, Home Depot, and Dracut Appliance - Baron's prices were *by far* the best of the lot. Furthermore, they offered a 1-year interest-free payment plan. Even more furthermore, their extended warranty price was significantly lower than all of the others. And, we were able to make decisions on their website as we compared features & prices. We did our research online and it showed that Barrons had the refrigerator that we wanted in stock. Called the store and the Sales man Herb Hartwell told us that is was correct. We went to the store that day and placed the order, was told it would be delivered in 5 days and we would get a call the day before with a delivery time. Did not receive a call the day before, so we called the store at 6pm and was told we were not on the delivery list for the next day. Spoke with our salesman the next day and he informed us that our refrigerator was never in stock! He forgot to follow up with our order to let us know that we would not be getting a delivery. Barrons could then not even get us a new delivery date!!! Finally, after two and a half weeks we got our refrigerator delivered. Never heard from the salesman Herb Hartwell again. It took 3 1/2 months to repair my refrigerator under warranty. It was not working at all for the entire summer. I gave them one star because they let me use a loaner refrigerator, but it would only fit in my dining room so very inconvenient. Then even worse, I noticed on the sales receipt that they printed out when I first went to the store about the broken refrigerator that I had a negative balance of over $400. I stopped in again and found out that they kept the credit on their books without notifying me of the overpayment. That was 4 years ago. Wanted a Miele dishwasher, so I looked for the closest retail outlet. Happened to be Barons. Assumed that a luxury brand like Miele would not choose a third rate dealer, so I never checked reviews. What a mistake. Needed to address missing parts, and Miele told me to call the dealer. The salesman is never in, never returns phone calls and I'm stuck with an uninstalled dishwasher in the middle of my kitchen. Worse, Miele shipped their customer service to some third world hole, where they barely speak English, and have no power to solve problems. read more

DO NOT buy from Barons! awful experience. we got a brand new dishwasher and hired someone to install it. the person we hired said it was broken and to call barons back so we did and barons sent out a tech and told us it is perfectly fine and to hire a new person to install it. we hired another person to install it and the person said the same thing that it was broken. we called barons and fought with them saying it is in fact broken. they sent a different tech out and told us yes it is broken and needs 3 new parts. we ordered those parts for our "brand new" dishwasher and scheduled the service for barons to fix the "new" machine. they never showed the day of the scheduled service. it has been over 6 weeks without a working dishwasher. still no dishwasher and still waiting. awful experience. I recently purchased a new GE front loader washer/dryer from the Salem store of Baron's. I purposely went to Baron's versus Home Depot or Lowes because I wanted to have a more local connection. The sales experience was fine and I have no complaints (which is why 2 stars instead of the 1 they deserve). The home is new construction and when they delivered, they sent out the two nastiest, rudest, arrogant, cocky, and uncooperative delivery drivers I have ever dealt with in my 53 years. Not only did they track mud and dirt throughout the house (it was rainy muddy but every other delivery I had put down pads and wore shoe covers) but they spoke to me and the home's construction supervisor like we were idiots and doing them a favor by allowing them to deliver the washer and dryer that I paid close to $4000 for. When the dryer did not work after they hooked it up, they said "dryer doesn't work - you have a bad outlet." Thankfully, the construction supervisor was there and tried to explain to them that they connected the dryer incorrectly. They argued with him. Finally, they called their supervisor who instructed them to follow construction supervisors instructions and dryer then worked. The delivery guys were even nastier and more rude after being proven wrong. It has been a week now and I have yet to do a load of laundry because every time the washing machine goes into high speed spin cycle, it trips the breaker. I have had an electrician out to check the outlet and breaker (cause I know what's coming) and they are fine, so it is the washer. Repair from Barons was suppose to be out 9-12 today - cancelled because someone called out sick (I really don't blame them for that - don't send sick person to my house) and have been rescheduled for Friday (appreciative they got it rescheduled so fast). I bought a GE microwave here a few years ago. Recently a light came on indicating we might need a new filter. I went to Barons the other day to see if they have filters, or, where could I get one. I walk in, there are maybe 8-10 people, each in a cubicle. Some were on the phone so I went to maybe to #5, first one not on a phone, and asked him if I could ask him a question- he said NO. He asked had I called ahead, do I remember who I talked to - I did not remember. Bad attitude- he said "I'm working on something". He wouldn't speak to me, so I put my filter back in my bag and proceeded to leave. He then said, "what's your question" - I was pissed, said "I'm good", and left. I have bought several things in Baron's over many years, but will never go in the place again. I might note, none if the other people made any effort to assist. I wanted to share my review only because i sent a longer version of this to the District, General, Store and owner and received no response back. My experience with Baron's was HORRIBLE!! Let me say the Sale guys was great everything after that was not. We ordered a new refrigerator on November 6th. The First (yes first out of four delivery) delivery they said they couldn't get the old one out and the new one would not fit. I got the old out ourselves and the SECOND delivery folk got the new on up fine. However it was defective. The THIRD Delivery came and the refrigerator was damage out of the box. The FOUR delivery came Wednesday November 27th. The text said between 11:30 and 2:30 pm. They arrived at 7:30 PM and it took them till 9:58 to complete the delivery of one refrigerator. We had to cancel our plan for that evening before Thanksgiving. The store manager offered us $200.00 off , which we accepted. However, in no way did this compensate us for the multiple delivery that we had to rearrange our schedules for. Let alone our contractor and the addition stress and tipping for each delivery. He talked me off the ledge when the first two appliances came broken and helped me tirelessly to find replacements. He answered my many many calls texts and questions he did his research to make sure we had it right'. His name is Stephen Richard. And I can't thank him enough for all he did. Baron's is our go to store for appliances. We have purchased a number of appliances including induction stove and convection oven, microwave, gas grill, and most recently a new Bosch dishwasher. In each case the sales process was great. On the recent dishwasher purchase our sales rep Vincent, whom we worked with previously, was knowledgeable and easy to work with. Communication from purchase to install is equally great. And today, the dishwasher install went as smooth as silk. Our installer Keith was great. He was quick while still being thorough and quite sociable, making sure to give it a quick test runs before leaving. Baron's has again proved to us that they are a 5 star appliance center. We recently went through a brand new kitchen renovation and purchased five appliances through Baron's. We have been purchasing our appliances since 2006 from Baron's and usually had great service. One of the appliances we purchased for our new kitchen was a GE Profile Refrigerator that cost $2800. It was delivered 1/19/24. First of all it came with no water filter. Not an issue with Baron's and didn't think much of it. Called GE Appliances and purchased water filters. We received the filters 2/14/24. In order to use the water feature, the filters had to be installed. Within a matter of a week the water pitcher overflowed three times. The last time nobody was home damaging our brand new hardwood floor and basement ceiling. We want to replace the refrigerator for a different model and Barons said 'no'. We were told 'they only sell them, they don't make them.' and that we should call our homeowners insurance!! GE is not helping either. Because their tech could not duplicate the issue, he did a software update and deemed that there was nothing wrong. We thought that might have fixed the issue but just this weekend, the refrigerator started 'dinging' for no reason and when I opened the door, there was an 'ERR' message for the water pitcher. No water, just the error but we feel it's only a matter of time. I only wished that I had looked at the reviews on the GE website because this is a known issue. Shame on Baron's for selling products that they won't stand behind and shame on GE for not backing their products!! Barons tells us to go to GE and GE is telling us to go back to Barons. I guess the only place we can go is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Update: the third time was a charm. The dryer arrived with no dents or issues. The salesman in the store was wonderful very helpful. We found our washer dryer. On the day they were to be delivered. The washer was perfect but the dryer had a huge dent in it. We returned it because it if we accepted it, it would void the warranty. The following week the second attempt of a new dryer was delivered. That also had a dent therefore that one was returned. We're trying one more time next week. If the dryer is perfect, I will update my review. The woman in the warehouse rescheduled. All she said was that they cannot check it because they do thousands of delivery of appliances and cannot check every single one of them. I suggested they check this one because it was the third strike and that should not happen. She did not care. We will see what happens next week update to follow...... read more

I bought a refrigerator and dishwasher from Baron's in Salem NH this spring. Their prices were competitive and they have a wide range of models to choose from, including really high end stuff on display. They will also provide a plumber at an extra charge, so I opted for that. The delivery people and the plumber and his assistants were great & even tightened up my new faucet at no charge. The sales people were also knowledgeable and helped me select a GE Cafe dishwasher with a 3rd rack which is a feature I hadn't considered but I love it. read more

I bought an expensive Cafe fridge at almost 5k from this store but the delivery guys did not install all the parts including the shelves. The fridge came with a cover for the humidity control drawer which I had been having difficulty with trying to install. I am a busy working professional so I did not have time to call the store right away because I thought I could fix it but I got frustrated because I couldn't do it and did not want to damage my expensive fridge. When I finally did call, their service department gave me the run around but the store manager by the name Richie reached out to me and fixed the problem right away, He had no problem driving out to my house on a weekend and installing the humidity control cover for me which took a few minutes, and now my fridge looks nice and classy just I had wanted when I bought it. I am giving the store 5 stars due to Richie's exceptional service because he demonstrated that he does take customer concerns very seriously and goes out of his way to rectify them. Next time I go back to Baron's to buy an appliance I will ask for Richie because of his stellar professionalism! read more

I bought a stove from barons 10 days ago. I was encouraged to go there because I had heard they had great service when they're appliances had issues. The company who delivered the stove to my home had trouble closing the oven door after they put the stove in place. I didn't think much of it as they fixed it within a few minutes. 2 days later there were more problems with the door not closing. I called the salesman I had bought the stove from at Baron's and told him about the problem. He said he would get back to me about a solution. I never heard back from him so two days later I called again and he wasn't at the store that day so I talked to someone else about the problem. I discussed I needed the oven so I could cook with it as soon as possible. This resulted in no action. I called again the next day and asked to speak to the manager. I was told he was out to lunch and did I want to leave a voicemail message for him. I did. I explained the problem and never heard back from him. I called again later in the afternoon and spoke to yet another salesman and he said he would refer my issue to their service department and I would hear from them either that afternoon or the following day. Again I never heard anything from the service department in the following two days . The stove was expensive, and I am extremely disappointed and distraught . I purchased a Bosch stove/oven in May of 2023 from Adam at Baron's in Concord NH. Wonderful experience with selling. Service and warranty, totally different story. Communication horrible! My less then one year stove/oven has rust inside the oven. I tried cleaning it first and had no luck. I didn't think much of what I could do and remembered I purchased a 5 year warranty from Baron. April I happen to be in Manchester and saw the Baron store there and popped in to talk with someone about my problem. We agreed I would contact him when I got back in a few days to follow up. I called a week later and he couldn't find the pictures I gave him and didn't do anything. So I remind him and he said oh yeah. Nothing more came from Derek. In May 18th I receive a phone call from Adam, my original sales person and he say what's going on? I said what do you mean? He was told to call me but didn't know why he was calling. I explained my frustration and told him I just need communication! He apologized and promised he would get back to me after memorial day weekend. Which was fine. I never heard from anyone again till I think the 31 of May. I called Adam, and his Manager Mike. Still no return calls. I happen to be in Concord on June 3 and stopped in to see Adam. Still he had no real answer for me. I was pretty upset. I called Bosch on my ride home and within half hour, I got an answer from them that it was pending. Finally some kind of answer! And that I have a Dealer Preferred Service plan, threw Baron! Now both Adam and Mike have returned one phone call to tell me the rep wont cover my oven! Within less then one hour they come back with a answer. So, June 5th I call bosch again and they to have been giving me the run around and I haven't heard from Baron or Bosch and I still have NO answers! Don't buy from Baron! read more

I ended up working with Mike Loiselle at Barons Major Brands in Salem NH after spending weeks online shopping for a BBQ, Griddle, and other appliances for an outdoor kitchen that I am building. Over those weeks of shopping, I went to every website on the old interwebs that is known to sell outdoor kitchen appliances. After tons of research, I made a decision to purchase Hestan products. I had picked a site to buy them from and my cart ready to check out when I decided that I wanted to give a local business the opportunity to earn my business. I run a business myself and every day I see the problems that can come with making major purchases online instead of dealing directly with a living, breathing human being. I have always preferred to have a single point of contact instead of a call center to deal with throughout the purchase process and, most importantly, for the long-term ownership of any expensive product that I buy. Just before I clicked the "buy now" button at this online store, I googled local Hestan dealers and that brought me to Mike. From the moment he answered the phone he was knowledgeable, energetic, and eager to help. I went through the list of items that I wanted, and he did the most important thing anyone in customer service can do, and something that I preach to all of my employees. He set proper expectations!! He was very clear about when he would be able to deliver, explained exactly how the process would go moving forward and then he delivered on all of it. The most important thing that I am looking for when I am making a major purchase is clear communication and a detailed explanation of what I can expect. Every time Mike told me he would call or email with information he did. Even if he didn't have the answer at the time, he still made sure to reach out as promised so that I was always informed. Now that my appliances have been delivered, and in the exact timeframe that Mike promised, I couldn't be happier. Based on how the purchase went I know that if anything happens in the future all I have to do is call Mike and he will get it taken care of for me. He even got his manager to offer an extended warranty on my BBQ that is normally only for indoor appliances. These products are amazing, and I look forward to sending everyone I know that needs a new kitchen, BBQ or any other home appliance, Mikes way. It takes a lot for me to refer my friends and family to businesses because I have been let down so many times in the past. With that said, I know that will never happen with Mike at Barons. I know that anyone I send over there will be treated with the respect, professionalism, and the attention to detail that I was met with. Not sure if it was Jared, the sales associate or the delivery company. Our fridge was delivered ruined. By ruined, imagine it not being tied to anything and flying around the back of the truck. So we call Jared. We tell him our story, he said they can order parts, it will take 9 weeks. We say we want our money back. We do the card details again and he says , " your card has been refunded, you're all set" and hung up the phone. He really did not seem to want us as customers. We will be obliging. The worst part is we are going to remodel next year and redo the entire kitchen over. My wife and I have purchased many appliances over the years at Barron's in Salem, and have relied on Barron's for more than a decade for appliance repair services. We've always had great experience, and highly recommend Barron's for purchase of new appliances. Recently, we called for service on an expensive Capital range which was already installed at our home when we purchased the house over a decade ago. Barron's is one of the only authorized service providers for this brand in the area. Regrettably, Barron's told me they now only service appliances that were purchased at their store. Since we have no idea where the previous owner/builder purchased the range, they won't book a service tech to repair it. I attempted to explain that we've purchased at least 6-8 other appliances over the years at Barron's. They didn't care. No luck. I've called the other authorized service providers in the area, and they too have this same policy. I guess I can understand Barron's and the other resellers attempting to prioritize servicing "existing customers" but the people who answer the phone don't seem to care about the thousands of dollars worth of other appliances I've purchased from Barron's over the years. Now it appears our only option may be to purchase an entirely new gas range. I hope David Souter from Barron's reads this and replies with an explanation why leaving his customers high and dry is good business. read more

Bought almost $4000 in appliances last year from Baron's and the dryer was damaged internally and they hung me out to dry. $1000 dryer and it is useless. I was told I only had 7 days to tell them about damage. Renovation ran 2 months over estimate and washer and dryer sat in the hall untouched. Baron's wouldn't send a tech and wouldn't replace it. Samsung came to repair it and said it is beyond field repair and should be returned. Talked with several people at Baron's and they will not replace the damaged dryer and now they do not answer my emails. Had to buy a new dryer from another dealer. Not happy read more

Did our research on the washing machines, even texted with Baron's via their contact text and gave them all the information. Went to the store, the salesman was giving us the wrong information about the models (felt like a used car salesman who didn't know his cars) and then at the end upsold stuff and made the whole experience miserable. Sadly, when I checked back in on the text thread, they were no better and simply went to radio silence when I asked why they were allowing their salesman to change the pricing and details. Left the store without purchasing...went to another appliance place...will never go back to Baron's. Customer service is awful. They do not know their machines/appliances. Baron's is great. Love their products and their sales teams. The problem is - they have a lousy repair service. I am not even sure where to start. They sell you extended warranty which they pass off as theirs (its not). Then if you call them for service, you are transferred to Reliable Appliance repair - which for all intents appears as a secondary company (it's not - Baron's owns them). The wait times for a call to be answered are horrific. The wait time for an appliance diagnostic are horrible. I had an appointment for diagnosis scheduled a month out. They didn't show. I call they said it was rescheduled. Finally they arrive 6 weeks later. Then say - we need to order parts. Based on past service - it will be another 4 weeks. Baron's should be staffing their appliance repair center more. The service people are mostly rude and deflect any criticism of the delays. They tell you you can call the warranty service directly (see earlier comment - Baron's sells this as them!). Just disappointing. Baron's at one point in time had a very good reputation and quality of products. We ordered a Whirlpool refrigerator, we have now had a total of 4 refrigerators delivered, each one arriving with dents in the door and scratches. Baron's now subs out the delivery and service, the service has been terrible, we have had furniture scratched on bringing in the refrigerators, door jams scratched, hardwood floors scratched. We are over 2 months into this process, and still cannot get this resolved, as we are now waiting for another door to the refrigerator from the factory. In addition, upon delivery, the service company has left trash and screws in the driveway that has punctured our tires on our car. I have spent 1000's with them and because the manufacterer (via their service) replaced an appliance due to failure, their extended warranty is now 'invalid' and did not and can not be transferred. Two weeks later stove was delivered and the stove had the wrong stove top rack and the bottom warming drawer wasn't installed. Plumber was great with the install. My wife called service and explained. She got a text saying we received the service request. A MONTH later and a service person still hasn't even called to set up an appointment. I've called store, gone into the store, emailed people, used Facebook messenger. And they all say the same thing. The service dept is separate but We are on it someone will get back to you. Horrible experience ordering from these guys. Specifically went to them over best buy for customer service. I ordered over $30K worth of Thermador appliances 6 months in advance of my kitchen reno. Sales process was great but after that it all went down hill. I needed a specific accessory (heating blanket) that I originally ordered. After looking at the spec sheet I asked Zach (the sales rep) to confirm for me that the accessory was not included with the fridge/freezer combo I bought. He confirmed it was included and removed the accessory from my order. Upon delivery, the accessory was not included and my installers did not want to install the columns without the accessory. Zach said I don't need the accessory for my install and that I needed to order the part which was on backorder for a month! I agreed to order the part but asked him to install it as my installers were only there for a day. He refused, I pushed, he said he would get back to me after talking to his manager and never did. I called every Thermador dealer in the area who all said, if it was them, they would be calling their Thermador rep, getting a part expedited to me and installing it at no cost. Barrons would not entertain it. They claimed their Thermador rep said I didn't need the accessory for my install. Whether I needed the accessory or not is irrelevant, I wanted it, ordered it originally and removed it form my order because of Zach's error. Also, they have never looked or asked about my install conditions (which require the accessory per Thermadors Installation Department). I ended up calling Thermador myself and getting a part expedited to me (at $200 more than the original accessory price) and paying my installers to come back to install. Delivery was also terrible. These guys don't know how to deliver high end appliances. The delivery guys removed anti-tip brackets from the fridge/freezer columns that said right no them "do not remove prior to install". The delivery manager who claimed the delivery driver did not remove the brackets. I told her I actually had him on video removing them (thank you ring cam). She said they would be right over to bring back the brackets for the installer. They never came back!!! The also didn't deliver the required install parts for the dishwasher included in my package. Zach had no answers on the anti tip brackets and made me come to pick up the dishwasher parts they didn't delivery! Overall HORRIBLE experience. Do yourself a favor- order from Best Buy. Also the Bausch refrigerator we bought got delivered with screw missing to attach the handle. My husband was promised they would overnight screws 6 days later still no screws.
