Two dozen roses (under $20) in Costco - absolutely stunning
    Trish P.

Costco makes fancy two-dozen bouquet roses accessible for those of us that are financially smart. I absolutely love receiving flowers, but getting them online is guaranteed to be $49.99 above... here at Costco, I'm able to get the same thing for $18.99. Just add a nice vase I have on hand and some DIY stem trimmings and DIY flower arrangements and it looks absolutely stunning. Aside from the flowers, the delicious $1.50 hotdogs (that comes with a medium sized soda) or the pizzas, the seasonal sale deals, and bulk shopping are just some of the things to love. Not to mention, they show their environmentally friendly practices by making available boxes so we won't have to use plastics to bag our merchandise. Another thing, this Costco has a liquor store. And newly expanded gas stations with more pumps and ability to pump on both sides. WOWzaaaa

$1.50 100% beef hot dog with a drink

Arriving on a Monday morning, presumably a slow time, I was finally able to get my first membership card. What's a better way to celebrate than to get a $1.50 hot dog and soda? Even though there were lines everywhere else, I was able to get my order in under 5 minutes. It was juicy and flavorful being 100% beef. Looking forward to making more trips here in the near future.

I always like to go to Costco. This is a particularly small one compared to the one I usually go to. Costco is cracking down on making sure you are the owner of the Costco card. I saw someone get kicked out of the self check out line because she had her mother's card and they said it has to be you. So like Netflix everyone beware! We were able to get so many great items here including some beauty items that had more money off, so that was a plus. They even have a liquor store attached and we were able to get the Kirkland vodka which is excellent. We are able to freeze a lot of the foods and we do feel the product is worth it! You may spend more up front but in the end it is more bang from the buck! We bought salmon, spinach, blueberries, strawberries, a great Nespresso maker (for a fraction of the cost), cucumbers, tomatoes and more! Costco is great. Also, we ended up meeting a fellow Cornelian (my husband was wearing the Cornell sweatshirt so someone asked him if he went to Cornell and he said no but my wife did) and with that I got into this whole conversation with the Cornelian! It turns out he is friends with a friend of mine so that was an added bonus!

I find that one has to comparison shop to find the best deals and at least I have BJ's membership also cause I find Costco are more expensive than The other boxed store for the same item, I intend to shop here but realistically I know my products and go back to the other to shop. Take for example this location has no FAT FREE MILK- automatically I head to BJ's! That's only one of several items that it is helpful to have both.. but I do find I get more for my money and more items I can utilize in my own home at BJ BUT Costco has its merits! I don't see the point showing my membership card when I first ENTER...very unproductive to have a person just stand there policing it's members! Many times I have walked in with card in hand and the person at the door is having conversations with whom ever and then I am 20 feet away will yell at me to see my card! I started to give Costco 5 stars initially, but the more I write the more I see myself taking stars away! Costco MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO NOT STOP CUSTOMERS BEFORE ENTERING JUST TO SHOW THEIR CARDS! There is no VSLID REASON! Stop that practice and those employees can be going more productive work to make its members happy to have a membership!

Recently when I go into Lowe's, the reason I pick Lowe's is cause they're cleaner they're more organized and just seems less white trash overall all their products are clearly marked and they're easy to find. I know my way through that store like I know my way through the house although that's regrettable situation. It's just my life. They've always offered great products and offered incredible sales most recently I purchased a bunch of tile some was 75% off others were 75% off plus another 50% off that 75% now that is real value for me as a customer. But the most important thing I can communicate to you at this time right now is that every time I've gone in over the last project at least two people have asked me if I need help. One guy saw me fighting with some insulation trying to rip some plastic and he came along with a knife and cut it free and as if I needed a cart or if I need anything else. This is much different than what I have been experiencing in the past even though it's a little cliché, I can tell you that Lowe's at least recently in my experience has been much more personable and putting their employees out there to provide a higher level of service thank you Lowe's. I wish I bought a new house but I didn't. I bought an old one, and therefore, you have been a big part of my life and I appreciate it even though I resent it a little bit. Thanks again Lowe's. Keep up the good work keep asking people if they need help. That is the key to success service.

It mirrors the overall integrity of this store. For starters, with yet another persons' disgruntled review, the prices are tricky and misleading and are most often not wholesale whatsoever. Furthermore, receiving any sort of discourse about that fact often leads to an exciting visit from yelp reviewers' most frequent complaint; Bill the store owner. He might emerge from the back office where he aggressively conducts his customer support, or appear behind you peering out from the shelves of misc art supplies. Weather he is hovering over a transaction or fuming about the place, the environment is super tense and unhelpful for any kind of shopper. Admittedly tho, a number of the other staff seem to be commonly driven by creative endeavor, or if not, atleast a curiosity for varied art supplies. A unique feature of this store is the opportunity to request the allocation of difficult to find resources. But again, good luck ever making use of any of what this store claims to offer with such crude unfriendliness as a standard here. In conclusion, a visit to Beverly Art Supplies Wholesale* might just be in your favor, but more often than not you're going to leave here empty handed and kind of pissed. Definitely worth stopping by tho for a grab bag and a gamble *discounted if you'll withstand their creative spin on customer service

I stick with the old adage, "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all". However, in the case of Kane's Flower World, unfortunately, I find it necessary to make an exception. I have been a customer for at 10 years, ever since moving to this area, and my issue has never been with their staff, who have always been courteous and helpful; it is with the owners. The husband and wife who own Kane's are flat out rude, lacking even the most basic of customer service skills or pleasantries. If you enter their store within 30 minutes of closing, you are immediately 'greeted' by one of them announcing from the sales counter (which is located near the entrance), "We're closing in 30 minutes!". Okay, how about, "Hello!" or "Welcome to Kane's!". But no, you get the terse 30 minute warning. I recently visited for an item and it must have been closing time. Mr. Kane was literally at the door, customers were checking out at the sales counter. What did he say to me? Not "Hello" or any other pleasantry. No of course not. He barked, "We're closing the store, what do you want?" I sheepishly told him, half-intimidated by his attitude, once again. "We're sold out, we're closing the store", and with that I was turned away at the door for the day. On the drive home, I telephoned Kane's, and Mr. Kane answered. I politely told him who I was, and that how I was treated at the door is not the way to treat any customer, no less a longtime customer. He immediately became irate, said that I should know the store hours, that he does pay his employees overtime, and denied the '30 minute warning' closing announcement from the sales counter as soon as you walk through the door. Well, he can deny it all he wants, but it has happened to me several times over the years. As for not paying his employees overtime, if he is so cheap as to herd his customers like cattle and treat them like dirt to avoid paying his employees a few extra dollars, that is even more of a reason for me to never shop a Kane's Flower World in the future. And I will not. Kane's Flower World has lost this longtime customer. Foreve.

If I'm being completely honest we expected the food to be ok but not the best as that's typically how places like this are. We were so wrong!! We started with the mozzarella sticks and they were out of this world. Next up was Caesar salads; not the best but still good- they needed more dressing and it needed to be a creamier dressing but the lettuce blend was fresh and they put a ton of cheese and croutons. Unfortunately we had to take our dinners to go as we were running short on time. We should have planned to have been there longer; this was the only issue we had. Unfortunately they only had two servers and they were slammed. The food was great but the service just too long. Used to frequent this store years ago. Then went with Hubway/Blue Bikes for a decade. Now have my…read moreown bike again. Needed a new chain, old one felt worn and loose, measurement confirmed it was. Now, I have a Shimano internally geared drivetrain. It looks they choose to install a (1/2 x) 1/8th KMC chain. This is something one can question - the situation seems to be this: multi (derailleur) gear drivetrains, like 6, 7 or 8 speed drivetrains use a 3/32th chain - single speed bikes often use a beefier 1/8th drivetrain with thicker sprockets/chainwheels. Now, Shimano uses 3/32th sprockets for their internally geared hubs. Now, one could pair a 1/8th chainwheel designed for single speed or one of those stylish BMX chainwheels to pair it, that are thicker 1/8th. If one does that, one wants to use a 1/8th chain. However, my bike, like most that was designed for internally geared Shimano hubs, uses a regular 3/32th wide chainwheel that would be compatible with derailleur geared setups as well - Shimano designed it that way, probably to make logistics simple, makes sense to me - go Shimano. Now, why it was decided to install a 1/8th chain - no idea. Reading up says one can install a 1/8th chain on a 3/32th sprocket/chainwheel setup. One can expect a little more wear over the long run on chainwheel and sprocket as it doesn't fit as well in width, maybe also slightly more "noise" (not a problem - if there is, nothing I'd notice) etc.. Ok, so maybe not optimal and I'd expect a store like this to put a "proper" chain on it - it's not that difficult, is it? I suspect money might be a reason, the KMC 1/8th chain is inexpensive, goes for 5.99 on the KMC website, whereas 3/32th chain seem a bit more expensive, maybe because they are longer as they usually come for derailleur setups. I paid the same price ($25 for chain plus approx $20 for installing it) though as a derailleur bike would have been. All of this - may that be as it is, wouldn't necessarily have been a big deal. BUT there was a problem - they didn't use the right "magic"/"missing" link to join/close the chain. I had constant trouble, the chain dropped frequently, originally maybe once a month/3-weeks. I went back to the store and reported - this didn't happen before. They blamed "maybe" the control wire or housing needed replacement causing this. I asked how would that possible have an such an effect? blahblah... 7 month later the chain broke - and it was not the chain itself, it was the missing link - and it broke as in the rivetted axle part broke out of the side piece - it was not that the link came apart at the removable/undone-able side, the link was destroyed. I went back to the store to buy another link as I figured the chain itself seems ok - if I just replace the link I should be good. So I went in and the associated said they don't carry missing links for KMC 1/8th chains. I stated but I had this done here. He responded yes, they sometimes use KMC 1/8th chain, but they don't carry the KMC (or any generic) 1/8th "missing link" joining thing. So I had to buzz off without accomplishing my goal - but I wondered - how is this possible/ They install a chain on my bike that they say they don't have the proper joining thingee for. So I walked to the next bike store (Bike Boom). I went in and asked for a KMC 1/8th missing link - and they had it. Looked completely different from the one that was on my chain. The pin length was different as well - when you take a half of the magic link I had and the double pin portion of the "missing link" and hold them together. I went back into the store and asked - are you sure this is right - this looks completely different from what I had. i had the chain in my bike basked outside the store. The associate came out with me, looked at what I had and said - you have a multi-speed (derailleur) 3/32th link on your chain - that is not the right one. The one I gave you is the right one! Turns out he was right. I installed the chain with the new link he had given me - and all the problems I had before seem to have disappeared. No chain drops anymore. No funny noises/"klonck"s. No (extreme) sensitivity of chain tension apparently related to chain drops anymore - now apparently trouble free operation. This also explains why the link failed and the way it failed and the answer of the attended of not having such a link. So they use the chain and then use a different link for different chain types that kind of initially kind of fits as in it seems to join the chain together, but then causes a lot of operational trouble and prematurely fails. The combined time I wasted with dealing with these failures like chain drops over this 7 month period is probably a day's worth - including the time I went back to the store and reported that something doesn't seem right; I now frequently have problems I didn't have before. To get a bullshit answer and would have incurred additional cost for "bogus" follow ups if I had gone for it.
