Kelsey is a ONE OF KIND EMPLOYEE!!! My son and I were walking through Target to get a break from the heat outside. We stopped by the optical department because one of the nose pads on my FAVORITE glasses (corrective lenses) had fallen off a few ago. I showed Kelsey my glasses and I explained to her that the nose pad fell off, also I know some optometrists places will not repair glasses if a customer did not get the glasses from their office. I just wanted to get Kelsey's opinion if the glasses can be saved. Kelsey was SOOO NICE! She took a look at my glasses and said she can fix the nose pad, I just need to agree on a verbal agreement that if anything happens to my glasses while being repair, Target is not responsible for the damages. Just went yesterday for a contact lens appointment. Dr Vu would not let me ask a question in the middle of his long explaining rant. I felt rushed and even got to my appointment early. I was pressured in getting single lens contacts and when asked about multi-focal, it was highly discouraged. I was charged $70 for even though I have $130 towards contacts, exam and fit exam. The charge for the single lens contacts are only $15.99. So there better not be double charges for my insurance and HSA or I will let my insurance know. I am going to call to see if they can give me the numbers to get some multi-focals to try out. If they can't do that I will have to pay out of pocket to have another exam. Super disappointing. I am a strong believer in that the front desk clerks can make or break the office. I wouldn't mind going back and getting another pair of glasses. All of the employees are very friendly and helpful. You're never left guessing about anything. Taylor was very open and upfront with costs and selections. She is very informative and knows her work. Dr. Vu is super friendly, yes he VERY explanatory, but honestly for good reason. This is because he can't see what we see, he can only go by what we answer. I have never had an optometrist be so patient and thorough with my exam, never in 30 years! He helped me yo understand that it is me who has to make the decision not just answer 1 or 2, 3 or 4. I am so glad that my 20 year old daughter got to experience her second eye exam with Dr. Vu because now she will understand at an early age how to properly go through a thorough eye exam. They never called when my contacts were ready, gave me the wrong prescription on my glasses, had to send them back to get redone, been over a month and they dont know where they are. My first time coming here. That Dr Vu has no bedside manners, very rude. The whole reason why I came is to have my eye check but i felt like he was in a rush. You cannot make mistake if he is testing you otherwise he will scold you and intimidate you. He does not listen to the patients. All business. He was very impatient and unprofessional especially his tone of voice and choice of words. I felt being attacked as he was testing me. I totally understand that he wants to get an accurate prescription, but if you change your answer as to which one was clearer ,he gets upset and annoyed. It came to a point where I have to stopped him on the way how he was talking to me or i would just get up and walked out. Even with contact lens fitting, i have been to other places before and it takes like 2-3 or more fittings before they can get the right prescription for me, but that Dr Vu finalizes it within 2 minutes. How would you know if it will work fine without trying it on longer than 2 minutes. I just cant say anything coz he wont accommodate you anyway. Only good thing about this place is the customer service, they probably knew they need to make up for their doctors behavior. Will never return to this place. read more

First time getting glasses for my son. He was excited. The ladies up front were so friendly and made the experience fun for him . The optician Sam who helped us was wearing the glasses my son liked. She brought him a pair to try on and he was sold. They also have a cool way of measuring the glasses to the face I thought was Interesting and my son felt special. As far as the sale and price went; we have no insurance so they gave us a big discount using their kids sale . The glasses arrived quicker than expected . Do not take your glasses back for a repair!!!The arm on my glasses was consistently loose so I decided to take them in to have it repaired. Upon arrival I was told that they are not responsible for any damage done to your glasses during a repair. Then the guy proceeded to complement me on how great of a job I have done taking care of my lenses. He was shocked that there was not a scratch on them. Within five minutes of attempting to do a repair to the ARM of my FRAMES, my lenses were covered in scratches!! Not only that, but because he was not able to fix the stripped screw, he pulled the display frames off the shelf popped my now scratched lenses in them and sent me on my way. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Many reviews with similar red flags. The staff is lacking in communication and the experience was awful and pressuring. They wanted to use up my benefits and upsell me on everything Once they realized I had multiple insurances through my teaching position and through my university and my husbands work. They insisted I order contacts and see the Optometrist again to see if he could get me prescription for sunglass to purchase get this (my husbands sunglasses) I advised them I had just seen my own optometrist 3 months prior but hey insisted that in seeing there optometrist it would grant me to use my credit of $140 for the sunglasses. I know that this has never been norm.(red flag) Insurance has NEVER covered sunglasses and plain lenses (non prescription) also I was buying a gift for my husband but thought maybe there's something I don't know in regards to this because of them being persistent. They stated my credit could be sued for my purchase of ray bans ( no prescription) if I took extra time to see the optometrist right away in there store. I agreed to being seen again because they seemed so sure of this process . I walk to the back to see the optometrist who was instantly rude to me. He talked over me when I was trying to explain what his staff was having me request.He was visibly angry and raised his voice "why are you here if you have a prescription!" I told him that his staff said I would get to use the $140 ( in my insurance for frames) on sunglasses if I saw him. The front desk quickly covered it up saying I never told them I had a prescription. ( I had clearly explained I had one) They spoke to him and then they made me proposal that includes the sunglasses (for my husband) but with my prescription on the lenses. I was so upset 2 hours of my day and they try a now state I was unclear about prescription and that of course its never allowed to use my insurance for somene else... Of course it isn't .She continued to repeat same thing over and over forgetting to acknowledge what they experience was since I walked in the push to be seen again. I looked up my insurance and they billed it! I never was seen here. I was place in back on a chair when the Optometrist initially checked me in however they hit my insurance anyway. I was furious I am on chemo and immuocompromissed person wasting my time sick trying to get a gift and let them know clearly that was my experience and what I wanted to get out quickly but that did not happen. I will never trust them again. I went in here a big brand store thinking it would be professional and quick I was wrong. Going through all of this just to be told I was doing something wrong when all I was doing was taking there lead. Red flags all around. As I started to decline everything the front desk staff said I would not find my husband's gift - ray band sunglasses I wanted elsewhere cheeper than what they had. Such a low blow sales pitch after all I went through the threatening comment about not getting them cheaper was unnecessary. The whole time I was polite and calm and tried to handle it by letting them know what they did so that they understood for future guests however they were not good listeners or people that can communicate clearly. I left and bought the ray bans direct from company same ones same day the polarized lenses for $35 less than this store. Never coming back or sadly recommending this place. I am very community driven and usually recommend places to my colleagues or community members or neighbors but I will be vocalizing not to go here to everyone I know. read more

While I really liked the female optometrist and the time she took with me and the friendliness of the staff, I was unimpressed with the frame selection. When I pickup my new glasses the inability or desire to properly adjust them for me was frustrating, considering there was no one else in the store, too. I've worn glasses for over 30 years and never had such lack of care with a fitting. Do they not train them on how glasses should fit anymore? I've been coming to this location since they opened and have always had the best service. The staff is very friendly and helpful and Dr. Vu is kind, funny, and attentive to my needs. I wanted to be able to give a better review, but Dr. Vu just has a harsh personality. The whole appointment felt rushed and I felt like I wasn't answering his questions properly. My daughter also had an appointment and she felt the same way. This is odd to me because I accompanied my husband to his appointment with Dr. Vu several months ago. The doctor acted completely differently with my husband. It felt comfortable and care-free. This is the reason why I left my previous optometrist office of 36 years to go to Dr. Vu myself. Unprofessional and a waste of my time. I showed up as a walk in and was told I could hang around just in case one of the next few appointments didn't show up. I said sure I would hang out for a few minutes. Then, I was told the appointment didn't show up so I was in luck and I could be seen. I fill out the paperwork and thirty minutes later after I see the Dr. chatting it up with his contact sales rep I was told the schedule got tight and I could no longer be seen. I will not be returning to see this eye doctor, Jimmy Vu. He is extremely condescending and very rude. On March 24, 2023, he rolled up his eyes and made me feel stupid for a question I had about glasses. He was very short and I tried to clarify what I needed, and he just shut me down. He demonstrated lack of patience and low tolerance. How very unprofessional and what lack of etiquette this man has. He used to be my eye doc at Sears in SBDO, and I felt uncomfortable with him there as well, same demeanor. He said he remembered me from Sears as his patient. He should really work on his people skills. He is (simply) an eye doctor, and shouldn't make people feel less than because of this. He knows about eyes, but that doesn't make him more than anyone, and especially act how he did. I practically left in tears from the appointment. Furthermore, I was never satisfied with my prescriptions from him either. I absolutely would not recommend him, mainly because of his terrible personality. Once again I came back to Target Optical.. This time I needed my glasses fixed. I just got my glasses a few months ago, however my mom got a hold of them somehow (she has dementia) and somehow they got bent out of shape and no longer fit me. I came here and 2 minutes later they fit like a glove! I can't say enough good things about this place! Knowing that I can come in anytime to have my glasses adjusted (at no cost) is a huge weight off my shoulder! I have lots going on so it's a great feeling not having to worry about not being able to drive at night, or having to wait days/weeks, or in some cases months for a new pair!
