I came here without doing my homework but on an immediate decision based on the vision insurance's recommendations First visit wasn't satisfactory imo for the bill was not broken down and the add on protection was never discussed. Second visit was due to the frame too heavy and the lenses needed to be sent back so I ended up choosing another frame for the incoming lenses. Today my 3rd visit to return the 2nd pair but after few adjustments and replacing the nose pads; I believe I will be ok with this pair. I will be seeing Dr Thomas Wu as needed for I thoroughly enjoyed his caring ways and wonderful work ethics I'll go elsewhere for the frame and lenses next time Update: Couldn't even wear this pair for 10 minutes I'm done & accepted that I've wasted $300 at this place I do not recommend this optical dept read more

Came in today and inquired about any promotions involving purchase of Meta glasses. Attendant claimed there were none until I explicitly referred to one online. I had a great first time experience at Target Optical and it definitely won't be my last. Savannah at the front desk was extremely kind, attentive, and nice throughout my entire appointment. Kelly Pham helped me with my eye exam and she was very efficient, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I didn't expect to finish my exam so quickly (it tookmaybe 10 minutes or less?), but I ended up staying longer than expected because I didn't realize I would take so long picking out some new frames! They had a variety of different frames to choose from and the prices varied depending on the brand. I loved the Coach frames and I can't wait to pick up my new glasses. I had a really frustrating experience at Target Optical in Irvine Spectrum. I came in just wanting a basic pair of glasses, but they added a bunch of premium lens features I never asked for -- like polycarbonate, UV coating, premium AR, DST processing, and a protection plan. None of this was clearly explained, and I only found out after checking the receipt at home. It ended up costing me over $100 more than it should have. I returned everything, but it was such an unnecessary hassle. Be careful -- ask for a full breakdown before you pay. They should be way more transparent with customers. read more

It never crossed my mind to go to Target Optical to buy prescription glasses or have an eye exam. One day, I was shopping at Target and happened to walk by Target Optical and noticed they had Ray Bans. I was surprised, as I had no idea they carried that brand, among many other brands. I decided to stop in and get a price quote for a pair of Ray Ban eyeglasses that I knew I wanted to order. Xyrelle helped me and gave me different price quotes based on all the different options. To my surprise, the pricing at Target Optical is far better than anywhere else I looked at. Xyrelle was so great to work with, she explained everything and was so patient with me with the overwhelming process of ordering glasses. This experience was seriously hands down the best eye care experience I've ever had. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable. I felt cared for, I felt heard, I felt important. My eyes feel pampered and I feel confident that everything was done properly. I had the eye exam with a contact lens exam. I found the most perfect glasses thanks to everyone in the office. In addition, the doctor also provided trials of contact lenses, partially due to my dry eyes. I'm oddly looking forward to a follow-up because I know what a great mood I will be in after. The optical center is very organized, clean & have a huge selection of frames in all price ranges. The staff is exceptional!!! Don't let the fact that it's TARGET fool you - they have beautiful high end frames at reasonable prices Melissa took a lot of care and time explaining my insurance benefits (which were very confusing for me) and was very precise with ensuring my frames fit my face & the measurements for my progressive lenses were accurate. One of my contacts came out of my eye and I went to this Target Optical in Irvine after work for a contact cuz I can't see and i have to drive an hour away! This rude lady wouldn't give me a contact to use and this has happened to me in past and they just give me one. Terrible service and how far u let one of ur clients drive with having bad vision!!!! I always love going to the optometrist but this was an especially great experience. Dr. Wu is so cool! He addressed all my concerns, we talked about floaters and other eye stuff. He took his time and made sure all eye photos were clear and I never felt rushed. I felt I was in really good hands and was so happy that I just randomly decided to visit my Target Optical. Came here on Saturday morning to get a check up. We turned up early for our 9am appointment, but it didn't open until a few minutes after 9, and even then they weren't quite ready. For some reason there had been a problem with the scheduling of our (mine and husband's) appointments, but seeing as their first appointment was 20 mins late the Dr. offered to take my husband in. Then the lady who was late had her appointment, and luckily the 2nd customer had called to cancel, so I took that slot. If you are going to book online, make sure you book through the Target website otherwise your appointment might not go through the system correctly. read more

I'm really sad Denise doesn't work here anymore. She always provided really great customer service. I have a dog that loves to chew on my glasses and she got me the insurance for my glasses. When I had to get new ones, she remembered who I was and let me order new ones and pay for them over the phone so I didn't have to come in multiple times. Today I called in because my dog got to my glasses again, and the lady wasn't very helpful, would not let me order my frames over the phone but had to come in in person. I let her know that I've never had this problem in the past and would just turn in my broken ones when I went in for the new ones. I called another target closer to home and they let me order over the phone. I would drive out of the way to the irvine location because of how great their staff used to be but I will now be going to the one closer to home. read more

Dr Wu was fantastic. Unfortunately, the office staff is unwelcoming when you call on the phone. Staff member didn't start their name and I had to ask for it. Then immediately demanded why I was calling. Upon quickly explaining was told don't call is we will call you. Finally placed on hold for over fifteen (15) minutes only to be hung up on by the staff. I was initially told to call back after 3PM to see if the materials were delivered today in order for me to have them with me on my travels. Customers should be able to have an open dialogue. I went to another doc before my appt here and had a bad experience. Came here and Dr. Wu is good, he explains well and gave me a better prescription than the last place, and noticed more things about my eyes. Wouldn't buy glasses from here, too expensive and takes too long to get back but def go for the eye exam or contacts, they have newer machines/technology with good price for the exam. Just want to say that I'm glad I found this location. They had only been open a few weeks when I first went there to look. They have a good selection and have some designer brands and the prices are reasonable. I don't really like to pay too much for glasses but with insurance I was able to get a good brand and decent lenses with coatings. Staff were very helpful in going over options and promotions and did a great job adjusting my glasses to fit when I picked them up. I had an eye exam somewhere else but the doctor here seemed pretty nice and willing to answer questions or willing to find someone who could help if he wasn't able to. Great customer service, will go back when I need a new pair! Update 3/30/2018: Had an appt with Dr. Wu. He's very nice and knowledgeable. I had a couple questions about pupil dilation and the test where they take a photo of your eyes (which is not covered by insurance) but he answered my questions and said I could always come back in a week or two if I wasn't able to have either done at my appt time. Staff was helpful in helping me look for frames, but I wasn't able to look for long due to time constraints. Will update again if I buy from Target. Regardless, Target always has good promotions going on, I encourage anyone to sign up with them cuz you get a special coupon during your bday month. read more

I had accidentally discarded my old contacts in the sink. While checking the internets I found out that you need an actual prescription to get a new pair. I called around all he fancy places around in O.C. Not only were their appointments 2 weeks away, no one was available on a Sunday. I called the local target at 10.30am on a Sunday and was given an appointment at 12:00pm noon. I have to be honest, it's been about 10 years since I last saw an optometrist. Being a healthcare professional myself I must admit Im a bit careless when it comes to my own health. Dr Wu was very kind and professional. Not only was this a prescription issue, this was an actual Eye Exam. Dr Wu had me in for a good 45 minutes, and checked everything possible and reminded me of certain aspects that need to be kept an eye on. This being my first experience with a health care professional in the states, I was left throughly impressed. Dr. Wu is amazing! For nine months I had severe dry eye that would not respond to restasis, steroids, or any eye drops. He then decided to express my meiobian glands and BOOM-I had my quality of life restored, and I am forever grateful for him! He is very patient, thorough, friendly. Princess and Andrew are so sweet as well and it's always fun to go in there, even if it's just to say hi while shopping. Dr. Wu is great but unfortunately the other office staff here is the worst. I came in for my appointment on March 13th and Phoebe (one of two women who work at this location) told me that I didn't have an appointment. I showed her the email confirmation and she said that it must be for another location, I then pointed out that it was the irvine spectrum location in the email confirmation and she told me she would have to check with the doctor. Dr. Wu was still able to see me, that was fine. I provided my own frames for my rx and then left. She called me a week later to say that the frames I provided wouldn't work and I could pick another pair. It was frustrating because they have a really small frame selection so I asked if I could just be refunded and come back to get my frames. It was also frustrating because I misplaced my original paperwork but luckily the manager was able to look it up. The manager told me on March 22nd that I could come in and get my frames and that Phoebe would process my return in the store. When I showed up to the store Phoebe gave me my frames with a copy of the original receipt and told me my return was processed over the weekend, even though the manager said Phoebe would do it in store. Two weeks later I still don't have my money back, my bank said no return is pending. This optical center didn't fill my order and thus far is not refunding me. Total joke, I would definitely avoid this location. Irvine north is much more helpful. read more
