Everything was A+! Dr. Votron was clear, concise, thorogh and pleasant. Very informative. Answered all my questions. The most comforting eye exam I've ever had in my 30+ years of living. A great doctor. I selected his optometry clinic because of the reviews so I felt it was only right that I give a review as well. The front desk associates were very helpful as a team and entertaining as well. Never ever had so much fun picking out glasses. Side note: wish I could've got tinted glasses as a kid because I would have worn them more often. It took me too many years to discover frames that actually compliments my head & face. Shout out to Ray Ban! The team was very supportive in picking out the perfect frames and lenses for my taste. Im happy and excited about the whole experience. Went in for an eye exam in search for some new lens/glasses too. Eye exam it self was good the Optometrist was very nice and informative how ever Phil the customer rep at the front there was very rude... i was looking at glasses and i happened to grab some Coach ones (which were similar to the coach ones I currently have) and he literally told me those were really expensive and gave me price examples as if I couldn't afford them and directed me towards the yellow sticker or target brand ones... i am obviously aware of the price and if I couldn't afford them I wouldn't be trying them on... you should NEVER assume that of any customer.. he also kept giving small remarks through out and made it clear to me more than once that I could only try 6 at a time which i had no problem with but he was visibly getting upset that i kept looking and trying on (all within the 6 at a time limit) oh and did I mention he told my husband he could try 12 at a time.... He made the whole experience very uncomfortable that i told me husband I wanted to leave and just go elsewhere to buy our lens & frames... wont be coming to this location anymore read more

Brought my broken frames in for repair on a Sunday afternoon, just hours before my return flight out of the area. In desperation, I asked whether there had been any hope of their helping to fix or at least to cobble together something to get me seeing through my flight and back to my backup pair at home. Steve hopped on the job and discovered that my hinges were wrecked. Unable to fix the screws, he worked hard to find a solution. Though the solution was something as simple as what I would have come up with on my own - tape, he didn't stop until the job was done and I was a satisfied customer. Can't recommend Dr. Votran highly enough! We switched insurance plans and I had to leave my former optometrist who I had been seeing for years. On my first visit to Dr. Votran, he caught an error in my contact prescription. I had been complaining that my distance vision wasn't clear and thus I needed a stronger prescription. To my surprise and utter shock Dr. Votran explained to me my prescription was actually too strong. It was causing my muscles to strain which interfered with focusing. While a lesser strength prescription seemed counterintuitive at first, within a day I could actually see better and could focus without effort. Not only does Dr Votran have a friendly personality, its his expertise that makes me highly recommend him. read more

This place is awesome. We've struggled to find a doctor who would see our daughter before she turned five. She will be four next month. Not only was the doctor willing to see her, he was awesome with her. (His vast knowledge of Disney and NickJr shows served him well today.) We drove 30 minutes each way to get there and it was worth it. My only regret was not making appointments for the rest of us on the same day. Great service! We purchased glasses for our 9 year old before the school year. Less than a month in, a classmate knocked it down and broke one of the arms. We took it in to Target expecting to purchase another one. To my surprise, they offered to replace the frame free of charge and swap in the lenses as well. I have been wanting to write this one star review ever since May of 2017 and I am finally doing it. I would give O star if there was one. At my initial exam the doctor was nice but he is fake. He was only being nice to sell a new product that he may gets commissions. When I turned down his offer his attitude changed. Their contacts are ridiculously priced high. I asked their staff at front and they would lie saying all contacts are priced same, which turned out to be false. But most of all I appreciated the friendly & professional services I got from their staff. I was surprised with their affordable designer selections. It was my first time coming to Target Optical for glasses, I would say it was a pleasing experience for ONLY the exam (7/07/20). I got new contacts and new glasses. I was told that I would receive my glasses in a week no longer than two weeks. As I patiently waited for 3 weeks, I decided to call and someone said "it is almost here, should be here anytime this week, we will text you when it's here". As I waited for the end of the week, I understood due to COVID, shipping and stuff has been a mess. So I waited for the 4th week and half I called again, my glasses has yet to arrived... I believe I talked to the manager she was very kind and offered me a discount for my compensated time and I just had to bring my receipt. I was excited for the discount and my glasses since I paid around $6xx and I'm a college student. As I waited my 5th week, I didn't mind because I was told I was going to get a discount. On the 6th week, I finally received a text message about my glasses are ready for pickup. I instantly came to Target Optical with my receipt, I told the lady the situation and she said "I will print this receipt and make note to my manager". A week went by, I called Target Optical and no one respond, so I decided I'll just go there. There was a different lady helping me, she did the same exact thing "I will print this receipt and make note to my manager". I've been wearing glasses for 18 years and contacts for 14 years and Dr Lam Votran is the best optometrist I've ever had. No O.D. has ever taken the time to explain my astigmatism and eye issues before. Dr. Votran used wonderful analogies and helped me truly understand my eyes and gave me a thorough eye exam making sure everything checks out. Luckily, due to his extra diligence, he was able to catch something abnormal with my retina and referred me to a specialist. I live in San Francisco and I am more than happy to drive all the way to Alameda just to have Dr Votran care for my eyes! YOU GUYS I SAVED SO MUCH MONEY. I did my exam/contact lens appointment here as well as ordered toric lens contacts right after. Dr. Tran was intensely informative, literally explaining every single thing he did in great detail (including closing the door and turning off lights) so I felt very informed and on top of everything that was happening. He is really patient and eager to answer questions. The appointment was quick and painless, and he let me know my prescription changed slightly AND gave me a brand new pair of contacts with my new prescription to leave the office with that day until my order came in. I worked with Stephanie out front who was beyond friendly, helpful, and patient as well. She even went through the ringer to call in and get my coverage info when I didn't have my card. The nicest part is there was literally no pressure to buy that day. I could have walked away happy with my prescription if I wanted and not felt guilted into anything. I did end up buying a year's supply of contacts for crazy cheap! Like, half the price of what I'm used to. They have really amazing sales on complete glasses as well but I didn't get any. An extra added bonus was using my Redcard for an additional 5%! The savings were hella real ya'll. If you're like me and feel bad for going big box vs. mom and pop in our cute lil town, I totally get it. I say give it a try because the put of pocket savings are really, really deep. We had a fantastic experience with an employee who helped us at Target Optical in Leesburg, Virginia. She very patiently helped us find the best frames for my son, mindful of the extra thick lens he needs on one side and what style would work best so it wasn't as noticeable. She called me when my order was ready, but she wasn't 100% satisfied with the lens work so she sent it back and had them redo it. She then sent my sons finished glasses to us in Puerto Rico very promptly. The glasses arrived today and we are VERY happy with them and our experience. read more

My employer changed its optical provider, so when I needed new glasses I thought I'd try Target Optical. I had a great exam from Dr. Wang and then Stephanie spent a *lot* of time helping me choose some glasses. I chose a pair that were rimless on the bottom, but when they came, they didn't look the way I thought they would. I tried them out for a week and then went back and they allowed me to replace them with a new pair of glasses. They were really nice about it, even though it was my fault. They let me keep the pair I'd chosen until the new pair came. Both times, the glasses came in less than a week (less than the time expected). In addition, I got a pair of sunglasses at 40% off because my insurance didn't cover a second pair. I'm really happy with the new glasses and will definitely go back again. read more

This review updates my previous update of September 8. I received notification yesterday that my classes were ready for pick up. With a little bit of skepticism, I didn't think the turn around time would be this quick. It is normal for an optometry place to say your new classes will be ready in 7 to 10 business days, but to receive my new glasses within less than 4 days? Wow!! The workmanship and quality of the lenses and frames are remarkable. I really am impressed by all of this and it takes a lot to impress me as I am one picky person when it comes to glasses. I had the strangest experience here a month ago. First off, I really loved the optometrist here. The problem arose when I was being rung up for my contacts and eyeglasses. For some reason, the person working the front desk kept telling me that my total for both my 6-month supply contacts AND glasses would be under $300. I thought that was great! But on the cash register, it rung out to be over $400. When I asked about it, they kept reassuring me it was only costing me about $250. When I got home, the receipt they emailed me definitely came out to be over 400 ($433.38 to be exact). I didn't mind paying that much, but I thought it was weird that they kept trying to reassure me that it was costing me less. I decided to call about it, only to be told the price I was charged was correct and that they probably meant to say $433, not $250. I thought, "Ok, fine, maybe they meant 250 was for the glasses and 150 for the contacts. That way it adds up." It didn't stop there though...A few weeks later, I ended up having to return the contacts because I needed contacts with astigmatism correction instead. First off, when I tried to return them, the person at the front desk asked me if I had even paid for the contacts in the first place, suggesting that I had OWED them money. This obviously wasn't the case and I had a $433.38 dollar receipt to prove it. When I returned the contacts, the person figured out that when I had been rung up the last time I was there, they had ACCIDENTALLY OVERCHARGED ME BY 100 DOLLARS. They charged me for a 12 month supply of contacts instead of a 6 month supply. So basically, I went from target accusing me of not paying for my contacts, to target realizing they had accidentally overcharged me by $100. I got refund for it thankfully. Normally for things like this, I would let it go, especially since I really liked the optometrist here and the glasses frames that they helped me pick out. But being overcharged by that much, and not being taken seriously when I had called to ask about it was a huge deal breaker. I'm sure most of the time, they get it right and people have a great experience here. But this was just so disappointing. read more

I've been a patient here since 2016, but my last appointment in December 2018 was very frustrating and disappointing. After my eye exam on December 5, I placed an order for a pair of contacts as I had every year. The staff had trouble finding my insurance information even though I returned the next day in person to provide it. On December 6 I was told everything was fine and that my contacts were ordered. When they didn't arrive, I began calling weekly and was told each time they hadn't been delivered yet. When I called again on January 17 I was told they actually hadn't ever been ordered? WTF? They also said they are not an in-network provider and that I needed to order the contact lenses elsewhere - but now it's 2019 and my 2018 benefit is no longer valid. I'm posting this as a warning to others so they won't be caught off guard like I was. read more

I've worn glasses since forever and decided I wanted to get some contacts for the first time in my life. I shopped around online for a good place to purchase my first pair since I shop there often and the reviews were good for Target Optical. I went to my appointment and all was well, the male optometrist was nice and funny and explained things well. My prescription is on the higher side so I was told it will take a week or two for them to receive my trial lenses and I would get different options to choose from and test out to find the lenses fit for me. I was expecting about two weeks of waiting but after about 2days I was contacted to go pick up my trial lenses. I asked the woman if she was sure they were there and told her i could go in 2 days later. I went to target Optical after school via Lyft there and when I got there they said they didn't have anything for me. The woman there had me try on some lenses that weren't my prescription simply to get the hang of putting contact lenses on and off. After wasting my time and money I waited over a month for them to finally receive my trial contact lenses which I was told I would receive multiple different brands and received only one. I paid over $150 for the exam the "trial contact lenses were included". I've given one star because this experience hasn't been pleasant and I still have to actually purchase the contacts I want. I WILL NOT be purchasing my contact lenses from this place and will NEVER come back here for glasses or contacts nor do I recommend this place. Way too much of a hassle, time and money.
