Before the larger store was built in western Simi Valley (Tierra Rejada and Madera), the Moorpark Target was where we used to do most Target runs. While I like many of the shops & restaurants in the Moorpark Marketplace, the Target had started falling behind in appeal. Especially after they closed the garden shop, I didn't find reason to go there very often. Last night, I was on the hunt for a particular item at the S.V. West store, but I couldn't find it there. Online, they showed as supposed to have it, but in limited quantities. The Target app indicated that there was one unit at the Moorpark store, so Dear Hubby and I headed over. First thing I noticed is a sign on the exterior saying that they've remodeled. Well, okay - let's see what that's like. It's definitely lighter and brighter than I remember. They'd spruced up the swim shop area. It was 42 degrees outside in mid-February, but by all means, let's be pushing swimwear right now! They've added a whole section with Ulta Beauty branding, which sits across the center aisle from their normal beauty area. The latter also gets a boost from new cool lighting overhead, which draws attention to the space. After wandering around the kitchen appliances area and almost giving up on the one thing I was there to buy, I found it several aisles over on an endcap featuring GreenPan merchandise. Happily scored the multi-mode cooker to replace a quite well-used Crockpot. It's time for an upgrade. Now, for the same storage space I have an appliance that can steam, stew, sauté, as well as slow cook. They've added a mini Starbucks, too. Our cashier was very friendly, especially after I returned her greeting and asked how she was doing. Works miracles! As I write this and remember how the experience went, I upped 3.5 stars to 4 stars. This is definitely an upgrade over the last time I visited this location.

Extremely poor ergonomics, ADA or not.

Toilet paper holder is mounted SO low it's almost impossible to reach the paper. And oh that paper.... At home we use double ply. At this Target I think they use HALF ply. It's so thin you have to use about FOUR FEET for each handful just to get anything useful. And trying to pull it out of the dispenser it keeps tearing. I put a piece over my phone, the paper is SO thin you can read through it! Sad - and difficult.

This is a nice tar-jay. Sbux is here. In-store online shopping pickup right at the entrance. I found a pencil sharpener, I needed one.

Does your store offer refill for dish soap and shampoo if I bring in my own bottles? Where do u find the answer? How long does a reply take?

I've never seen anything like that here. You'd have to just get new product and refill it yourself.

The only issue I have had has been with the delivery company. I have had a nightmare experience in getting my couch delivered. The first delivery team damaged the beautiful wood frame on my couch and Poly and Bark didn't even hesitate to order me a replacement. Since then the delivery company has two created issues with delivery and I still don't actually have my replacement couch. But that is no fault of Poly and Bark. Jessica has gone above and beyond, working with me directly to ensure I have a good customer experience. She and I spoke on the phone at Greta lengths to ensure we were on the same page and team. She made sure I was able to contact her whenever I needed her and she was always swift to respond. Nothing that has gone wrong is the fault of Poly and Bark, and yet they have been the only ones in this process who have done everything in their power to make it right. Jessica has given up part of her weekends and evenings in an effort to make sure I get the highest quality white glove delivery. There is a three hours time difference as I am in Seattle. So often Jessica has been in communication with me at 10 or 11pm her time. She made sure my replacement couch was inspected a second time and insisted on a lot of quality assurance from the delivery company. I highly recommend Poky and Bark because honestly it's the most comfortable sofa I've ever had. I got the Zyon with the extra wide chaise and it's been the best nap spot of my life. And my cats favorite new place to cuddle. In sum, the furniture is great quality, the customer service has been excellent and only the delivery experience has been rough, due to no fault of Poly and Bark. My experience is an outlier. If you order from them, trust that you'll have an experience you are happy with.

This adorable shop is still packed with Christmas / wintery cheer. There's so much to see. It's a visual feast for the eyes, and it's so inspiring to amp-ing up your seasonal style. The friendly owners can help direct you to a particular theme within the store. From actual vintage items, to vintage-inspired new merchandise, there's so much from which to choose. (Snowmen! Giant jingle bells! Candle holders! Snowflakes! Miniature Christmas trees!) There're a lot of red and white accents, but also white & natural / rustic options, as well. I didn't take a lot of photos this time. Shame on me! I was so engrossed in just taking it all in. I did pick up a few items to expand on a particular theme in our kitchen / dining room. They do feature furniture pieces. This time of year, more emphasis is on decorations of all types. They also carry stocking-stuffer choices like hand creams, soaps, candles, jewelry, and more. Both my husband and I fell in love with Japanese design and craftsmanship a few years ago on our first trip to Japan. Since then, we've been drawn to various Japanese shops and stores around LA. There are a couple great shops for housewares around southern California - but we never found a shop that carried Japanese made furniture. My husband happened upon Ookkuu's website while looking for lighting - and we were shocked to find that they carried a number of items by famous Japanese architects and industrial designers that we'd never imagined we'd find in the states. We're lucky to have this shop in South Pasadena - I don't think there's a shop like it elsewhere in the states. Their showroom is on the second floor of an office building, don't be fooled - they love walk-ins! The showroom is small - but they carry quite a few of the items from their website. It's amazing what they can fit in there. It's definitely worth a visit to see these pieces in person. They also have a few small items like glassware, incense, plates and paper lanterns. They get new pieces in pretty regularly - so it's nice to go back often. Can't say enough great things - we'll be back when we decide to make our next purchase!

Just a couple items of clothing and jewelry in the front display cases. This is a home furnishings consignment shop and a well curated one at that. The furniture was gently used, even the pieces that seemed dated looked good. So if you have a flare for 60s, 70s or 80s decor, you'd be able to fined some nice pieces here. Beyond the larger pieces, like display cases, dressers, bookcases, there were quite a few end and nesting tables, ottomans and sets of chairs and bar stools. Rather than stalls for each seller, the merchandise is arranged into "scenes." Living rooms, children's area, entertainment outdoor items and running throughout are various lamps, while cool chandeliers and other light fixtures hang down from above. Plenty of decor items, paintings, faux plants and kitchen items are also available. Today, I spotted some wigs on head forms, a bedazzled, rechargeable lighted vanity mirror, a lovely orbital decanter on a matching glass resting plate, and some cool wall clocks. They even have throw pillows, duvets, towels and rugs. Everything was priced fairly and some real finds can be had. I'll definitely be back to check stock regularly. Cheers! "CC"
