I didn't see a separate Yelp listing for the pharmacy, so I will leave my Yelp here.
Yesterday, the evening of November 29, 2016, I went to the CVS pharmacy, located in the Target, on Whipple, and received what I considered unacceptable customer service. Do not take your business here if you want to be profiled, judged & discriminated against.
I went into this Target location to pickup 2 prescriptions that my doctor had electronically sent over, she had also given me a hard copy, just in case. I was in severe pain, due to a spasming pinched nerve in my back, it literally hurt to breath, so I wasn't looking my best. I picked up the prescription with what I thought was no an issue. At that point I didn't look in the bag.
I was in so much pain, I decided to open it and take one of my meds at the store, as I continued shopping. When I opened the bag there was only 1 of the 2 prescriptions. I went back to the pharmacy and kindly told them they forgot one of my prescriptions. She asked what the medication was and I told her. She went, conversed in secrecy with the pharmacist, the pharmacist looked at my husband & I, standing at the counter. The gal (female, short boy cut, brown hair) came back and told us they did not receive the electronic prescription request for the other medication I was trying to fill. So she was basically telling me she received one, but not the other, of 2 prescriptions sent together electronically, via my Drs office.
I told her I have a hard copy in my car, I could show her. They said, okay, and asked to see the paper. I went out to my car and retrieved the prescription. I handed it to the lady, she proceeded to look suspiciously at it and held it up to the light etc, as if it was bogus. She would not accept the written prescription from my Drs office. They ended up denying my prescription because by this time the office was closed and they were unable to contact any office personnel. They said, they would contact them in the morning.
The next morning, I contacted my Drs office and told them what had happened. My Drs office had not heard anything from Target pharmacy at this point. The gal helping me, at my Drs office, looked up my file and checked the status of the electronic prescription transfer. On her end BOTH prescriptions had been received by pharmacy the previous night, TOGETHER and accepted. Both items were confirmed delivered via electronically to the pharmacy. I told her that they claimed they only received 1 of the 2. She said, again, both items were confirmed received. Then I told her I presented the written prescription and I was still denied. The gal at my Drs office said, the paper was certified and they should have filled it, there was no reason not to. She assured me she would make a phone call to the pharmacy right away to straighten out the situation, since it seems the pharmacy was suspicious about the prescribed meds.
I then waited 30mins before calling the pharmacy to make sure there would be no hangups picking up my prescription this time. The gentleman that answered the phone told me, "your Drs office has not called, faxed, nor confirmed this prescription today and I'm only one that has been here with the pharmacist all day..." So, I called my Drs office once again, she assured me she had called 20 mins ago and everything was squared away. I called, the pharmacy, back again and the pharmacy personnel again tried to tell me they had not spoke with my Drs office. I was then put on hold with no notification that I was being placed on hold and then another person picked up the phone, "Christopher" he told me my prescription would be ready at 2:30pm, they were busy and there were people ahead of me, which is fine.
At the end of the day with this review I want to say, I feel that my husband and I were profiled due to our appearance & the meds being prescribed. I feel that we were discriminated against without reason other than our appearance, by the night time pharmacy personnel. I am an serious athlete, sometimes I get injured. I don't like to take pills, but sometimes it's unfortunately necessary. The pharmacy team, working on November 29th, made me feel so awful. I felt as they were treating me like I was doing something wrong. The made me feel like I was some junkie trying to pull one over on them. The more I thought about the way they made me feel the more I am bothered by it. Not to mention once again, that my Drs office confirmed that the pharmacy received the electronic prescriptions request from there office, the previous night, but denied me my meds. So what other reason would they have to question my prescribed meds other than they thought we fit a certain questionable profile. I am VERY upset about this and may take it to a higher authority. I feel that I was 100% profiled (based on my appearance), discriminated against, or someone there was trying to do something crooked. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Pharmacy read more
