All I wanted to find was shoe glue and Shoe Goo was located on aisle E 23. I spoke to two different people noting it is in stock and located on isle E23 and we could not find it. I went to Customer Service asked them to help me, they said they don't do personal shopping. I said I wasn't looking for personal shopping. I was looking for a product that they said they had, but was not on the shelf. Got up to the register told the guy behind the register of the situation. Employees are fine. Corporate management is trash, as is the quality of the merch. Particularly frustrating are the lack of in-store items, and the need to have shipped even basic commodities such as jeans. I am a standard-sized person, for reference, and thus do not require clothing that is exactly hard to come by, except if you live in a backwater like Scumboldt County. Do better. This place is great, and I like coming here normally, as people have been helpful. But....I'm sorry, they allow nonservice dogs in the shop, as well as potentially dangerous dogs running around off lead, loose in the shop. Which, I'm sorry to say, but it is illegal, as well as a danger. I say this as a disabled person. People should note that people's pets have been attacking disabled people's real service dogs, resulting in said service dog being confiscated. This is a serious deal. It is illegal to impersonate a service dog. This includes 'Emotional Support Animals' that are NOT service dogs. The law does not allow them inside businesses full stop. The laws only cover some housing. Faking a service dog can get you federally charged with a CRIME. These scams need to stop, because they are causing harm. Pets are NOT allowed in businesses by LAW, and by law, they must always be kept on a lead outside, not allowed in shopping carts or the rest of it. If your dog is in a shopping cart, it is NOT a service dog, and you are committing fraud. If it is not on a lead, it is not a service dog. If it is acting out in any way other than totally silent, still, and by your side, it is NOT a service dog. Many people are also severely allergic, and such people are protected by disability laws also. Other disabled people, like autistics, or those with ptsd often cannot be around dogs. You are violating their civil rights. Having pets in carts is also unsanitary. Target is opening itself up for liability by allowing nonservice dogs, and dogs off lead in its shop, and in shopping carts. Better than most, clean, new, bright and well laid out, easy access from the 101, and plenty of parking on most days (except holiday season) and it's steps above the Wal-mart and K-mart(s) in the area, for product selection and value on most household items. You can also shop them online and have items shipped to the store at no charge for you to pick up - so the limited selection that sometimes happens in rural locations, is not that big of a deal if you know how to use their system. I waited a total of 35 minutes to find an employee who could help me find one item that I was searching for. The first 10 minutes, looking for it myself. Oh, Target. The prices are competitive and they have some really great stuff - when it's in stock. Entire aisles will often be empty. Think zero storage totes to be found in the store, an refrigerator case totally emptied of lunch meat, etc. It's been that way for years, so it's not supply issue due to COVID. The inventory on the app and website aren't accurate, so don't rely on that. The prices are nearly almost wrong - today four out of five of the items I purchased rung up at higher prices. I've started taking screenshots of the price in the app and pictures of the shelf price tag to show to the cashier for a price adjustment - it's that bad. Employees seem to have a quick turnover, and are often untrained and unable to assist when you have questions or need help. Target management, please try harder! read more

This is a review of Targets' so called recycling policy. i went in with my allotment of 50 plastic soda bottles. I was legitimately in line awaiting my turn. The customer service rep sent me to the side and then, completely ignored me and took 5 other customers who had been behind me and served them. No explanation. I asked to be served that I had been in line 1st, and was told to wait. 5 MORE people got in line. For me, no service. I suggested the rep get some help on the counter. He tried. NO ONE came to help. I went to ask for a "store manager" and instead got a "floor manager" who told me "we're really busy today and we're not doing recycling. In other words I'm not worth the 5 minutes this transaction would take. I argued my point and then some nazi named "Brian" who identified himself as security butted in, told me i was being rude, told me to come back tomorrow (cause obviously they wouldn't be busy then) and finally tried TO KICK ME OUT OF THE STORE. I never got to talk to a store manager, i wasn't served and left in frustration. Target most likely receives government compensation for a service they don't offer. Pregnant hormonal and have a toddler. Lost my keys and was stuck at target for nearly three hours. ALL the employees helped me search, offered me and my toddler a ride home, lent me a phone charger to keep my phone charged, and even went over camera footage trying to track the dang things. Target is hands down one of my favorite stores! The particular part of Eureka that this one is located in can be a little rough around the edges, as there are often some transients and shady activities going on in the parking lot. There is nothing you can't accomplish in this store! The perfect visit consists of a trip to the in-store Starbucks so that you can enjoy your coffee while you shop. There is no category of need that is not addressed in this store! I notice that the variety of healthy grocery items continues to increase and I often get staple items from Target for cheaper than I could get them at my local grocery store. My favorite departments are home decor (can't leave the store without perusing through everything) and the "impulse aisles" at the very front that house the best bargain items, often seasonal. I also love having a Target debit card. It saves me 5% on all my purchases! read more

I don't know how anyone finds anything in here and I'm glad this isn't my local store. There's a reason most stores are organized by style, size, etc., and I left as quickly as I came in. Today was the third time I've visited this store, and it will be my last. I saw a normally expensive food item advertised for an absurdly low price and threw several in my cart thinking "what a great deal!". Something told me to double check to see if the price was accurate. I used a nearby price scanner and found that the actual price was SEVERAL DOLLARS HIGHER. I made sure that I had been looking at the correct product tag. Yes, the item matched the tag. This prompted me to check the price of every item in my cart. FOUR MORE THINGS I HAD IN MY CART WERE ACTUALLY $0.75-$2.00 HIGHER THAN THE TAG ADVERTISED. My friend was purchasing a quilt and found that it was $10.00 MORE THAN ADVERTISED. This is a decent, basic Target. I come here for a few certain things like cosmetics and I've found some AMAZING deals. The clearance sections they have, be sure to especially check out the ones that are at the end of the aisles, are usually stocked with good stuff. This one just expanded to carry food and dairy, kinda interesting. I'm not sure why they did it, they can't be making very much money from it since every food item there is ridiculously over priced. I've been shopping here for years. Most of the time the stock is good as is the service. There will always be exceptions such as when it is Black Friday or Christmas time when the store gets hammered and it is difficult to keep clean or stock. I have run into a few customer service folks with less than helpful attitudes but I try not to let that skew my opinion of the tons of other great folks that work there and give it their all every day. I wish the garden department was open more but given where we live I understand why it is closed most of the year. With all the homeless in the area, they need to invest more in parking lot security. read more

Had to gig it one star only due to restricted access to store. If you're not coming from 101 South you will need to do a death defying u-turn a few miles north on the 101. That said, the store is very clean, organized, and well stocked. Prices (especially on food items) is very competitive. I've been to a few targets and most looked sad or soon to be out of business. This one somebody clearing put a lot of thought and money into. The local Wal-Mart is not even in the same league as this store. That store is like a methadone clinic combined with a DMV. There's not much in the way of convenient outposts in the Eureka-Arcata area, but having a Target up here makes my business trips nice. Just to know that I can almost anything I need without having to go to a WalMart makes my life that much better. How can you go wrong with a Target near Humboldt State? Thank goodness because we seemed to be forgetting a couple things every time we went to stock up my daughter's dorm. It was approximately 10 minutes away from campus which I was relieved as a parent. The store was nice and clean and of course out of stock for back to school items. The reason I gave only three stars was for the customer service department. Although I understand how difficult customers can be, I believe I am usually calm for the most part. On our last trip to Target, we had to return a power strip and although I paid with a credit card, the associate asked if I wanted cash or gift card. I stated that I wanted it returned on my credit card. It wasn't an ATM/Debit card so why would you give me cash? Well, as I explained to her I did not pay with a gift card/ATM/debit card I wanted it returned and credited back to my credit card. After several unsuccessful attempts on the return transaction, the associate asked for assistance. Then, her manager asks if the return was not possible what other option would I accept the return. NOW, if I paid with the credit card and knowing that I would be paying interest on a power strip that I would no longer have and would be like I was getting a cash advance... No thanks. The associate continually asked me if she couldn't return the item and credit my credit card what other options would I accept. So I explained to her several times without raising my voice but more of educating her if the return did not go through because the machine would not accept it, Then maybe she should be contacting IT or someone who could override the system. With thinking that I was getting angry after 30 minutes of waiting and "discussing" That I do not want a gift card.. The associate finally credited the return back to my credit card. That was the most irritating and really confusing incident I've ever had with a Target store. It won't stop us from going there because apparently it's the only one in the area. But if someone pays by credit card, do them a favor and just credit the customer the way they issued payment. Makes life so much happier. read more
