I discovered Ross recently, and I'm 60 years old! After a fruitful shopping day at Ross, out of curiosity, I skimmed the Yelp reviews. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews. As someone who has always shopped at higher end stores like Williams and Sonoma, Macy's, and even Kohl's and Bed, Bath and Beyond, the selection and prices I found at Ross were astoundingly draw-dropping fantastic. I shudder to think of how much money I've wasted paying the inflated prices I have over all these years at these other stores. I understand it can be frustrating for some to have to sort through tons of clothing and other items in such a state of disarray to find just one item that works for them , but this is to be expected when you're getting something for literally a third (or less!) of what you'd pay next door at that orderly quiet overpriced boutique. (Also, much of the disarray comes from the customers) And, sometimes it's even fun to find that one diamond-in-the-rough jacket or dress amongst the heaps of crappy polyester! ( like I just did - a jacket I had looked just two weeks ago for $150 at another store was $40 at Ross - score!) I recently moved into a new house and I'm looking forward to buying my decorating items, linens and more at Ross. So, pshaw to all the negative reviews here, Ross is awesome! read more

I am a dedicated Ross shopper, and this location is as good as any other. I can always find super-cheap clothes that are better quality than the discount stores. It's my go-to store for undergarments and socks at great prices. Scored a pair of Calvin Klein jeans for under $20 here! Also, after I couldn't find an employee to ring me up for a gift bag at the nearby dollar store, I got three super-cute gift bags for $3. It's also a good place to shop for kids' clothing and toys. It's where I get cool toys to donate, because my dollar goes further and I can still get name-brand toys. This location is always well-organized and well-stocked. I've been to other Ross stores and I have to say this is cleaner than others I've seen, still completely disorganized and in constant disarray, but it seems impossible for them not to be. It would almost feel weird to walk into a normal organized store, I wouldn't feel like I was in Ross. I've found some good deals here, on clothes, shoes and decorative stuff and will usually browse through if I'm in the mall, but visits are usually cut short due largely in part to bad air circulation so there's a constant smell of stagnant air. read more

I hate to say it but every Ross is exactly the same, nothing different! Always messy and always a long line! It never fails me! At least not the last 25 years I have been shopping there, lol! So I was able to find some good deals, for example I saw a popcorn maker at Bed Bath and Beyond for $30-40 bucks but Ross had it for $16.95! Go figure it was the exact same one, lol, too bad my dad wasn't there to buy it for me! Oh and good thing I got in the short line when I did because she put up the "This line is Closed!" sign right after me! read more

Ross Dress for Less - Department Stores Near Me - Eureka, California

So this store is a hot mess. But I just moved to the area and needed a few items for our new home. There was a bunch of stuff in the way in the bathroom aisle (needed some bathroom storage items) and Rata moved a bunch of carts (for restocking shelves) out of my way so I could browse and then he saw my arms were full of the items I was purchasing and he came over and brought me a cart without me even asking him to. Also the gal who checked us out at the front of the store was fantastic (at the customer service counter) but unfortunately didn't get her name. The store refuses to turn on the a/c. I was unable to walk through the store for any amount of time. Much less check out or even try on any items. I have no idea how the employees manage but also realize they unfortunately have no choice or say and must work under these poor conditions. read more

Litterally the best Ross I have ever been to in my life. This store has way more high end brands than other Ross stores I have seen. Lots of selection in sizes and several products that I do not typically see in discount stores. Stopped in on Vacation up the coast, and since this is connected inside the mall I took a peak. 2 Stars for decent deals (better shoe prices at Big 5) but 0 stars for customer service. Cashier and clothing attendant were extremely rude for no reason. I'm sorry I need my daughter to try on 1 pair of pants. Did my smile bother you? Also, so sorry to inconvenience you by paying for them. If I could just leave with them I would, but that is frowned upon. Again, smiling at her didn't ease her bitterness to.....? Who knows. Love that all the workers were wearing gloves and masks properly. I usually shop there every year around Christmas time to find great deals and bargains! I love the great deals. This year the store looks totally organized and well stocked! All the cashiers were pleasant and I got through the line very quickly! Back in the day this place was a 5-star gold-mine. It was filled with all the Scottie Pippen and Harold Miner jerseys you could dream of. Nowadays, you can transform yourself into a full-on Eureka solider with one trip to the dressing room: White hat, check; Trendy MMA shirt, check; Cargo-pants to hide your drugs, check. I give it the "Ballin' On A Budget Guarantee" I only give it 2 stars because there are always kids screaming in your ear (as my buddy says "kids hate savings"), long-lines, and usually one or two domestic violence situations. I dont like the location, but they got some good stuff inside. I got a nice jordan sweatpants for only 30 bucks. Feels super warm and comfortable. Also picked up some nice Van Heusen brand socks for cheap. Other than that, everything else is what you can expect from a Ross. read more

Worst shopping experience ever. My daughter got ice cream all over her clothes while shopping the mall so I went to Ross to use the rest room and buy a new dress. I waited and waited and waited and waited for the bathroom and the person using it was taking forever so I decided to just grab a dress and check out and I waited and waited and waited and waited only to be told "I'm closed" when it was finally my turn, I was then expected to step behind a line of other people and wait some more. I left my cart right there and walked out and I'm NEVER going back. My poor daughter wore that dress home and it took forever to get the dried ice cream off her. This Ross requires patience and perseverance. Quality finds are few and far between. I find that this location in comparison to others, has many less brand name items and is lacking in the department of stationery, calendars, and other paper office goods. The aisles are fairly narrow, and the store itself is poorly ventilated. It gets stuffy very easily. The lines are usually very long and the checkout is pretty slow. I have often had to decide whether or not the item(s) that I found were worth the wait in line. Usually they're not. This store's best items are usually home decor pieces, and/or shoes. The brand name items are a little tough to track down, and are usually amidst a sea of cheaply sewn garbs that will unlikely survive their first spin in your washing machine. If you want to come away with something good from here, prepare to cherry pick through lots of items and then wait in line a long time. read more
