A Target with a full selection from groceries, clothing, tech, home improvement, etc. You'll find the help you need if you ask a Target employee nicely! Gets crowded during rush hours, but other then that it is a chill environment. Drive-Up and Pick-Up are a must on the go, haven't had a issue. Thank You Target, Mr. Rate read more

Any smart shopper would totally avoid this place on a weekend, however, if you must, go at 8AM like I did. Everything is clean and orderly, the sales associates are fresh and ready for the day, and you are in and out in no time. Bonus: I called the day before to make sure they had the shower gift I needed and a real live, friendly and knowledgeable person actually answered all my questions, verified they had 6 and said she would be there early in the morning to help me if I needed her. I wanted to hire her on the spot! Over the years, I have purchased many, many items for my daughter and it's a great place for casual attire. One stop shopping for household items too. The other reviews claim this is a cheezy Target, so I may try the other two locations for comparison at some other shopping outing. PS Starbucks within the store is a big plus. read more

You probably know what kind of store Target is, and what they sell, and blah blah so I will spare you that. This Target is not in an ideal location. With the XSport across the street, AMC around the corner and the fact that Elston here is one giant parking lot full of chain stores after another, both the Logan/Western and the Logan/Elston intersections are total clusterfucks. I wouldn't try to make too many left turns out of parking lots if I were you -- unless you enjoy road rage. Otherwise, this place is great. Close to my house, usually pretty clean, enough lanes open, friendly/not openly hostile people working there. It's usually a little crowded but it's Target in the city. What do you expect? The main reason I love this place is the prices. I've been unemployed for awhile now and recently realized how much money I save when I buy the Target or Up and Up (read: generic) stuff -- allergy medicine is SO MUCH cheaper than, say, Walgreens or CVS generic brands. Toilet paper, paper towels, etc. Plus now I have time to visit Target during the day, when it's slightly less crowded. One perk of joblessness. Of course, I have to stay away from the clothes and shoes lest I turn around and spend that money I've saved. However, if you're in the market for cheap-ish clothes and shoes, I've bought some of my best stuff here, and none of it has fallen apart. read more

Please teach your cashiers to recognize use of the coupon. Twice this month I shopped here and used coupons both times. Both times I told the cashier I had coupons at the beginning of the transaction and set them next to the credit card machine. The first time, the cashier forgot and said that I have to go to guest services. Stand in line again? Uh, thanks for the awesome customer service. So I went to stand in line for my $11. I talked with the manager too and she said that they could give the coupon refund at the register. So today the same thing happened...told the cashier about the coupons that she actually took and put next to the register yet she still forgot! No short term memory? She wanted to send me to guest services too. On a Saturday? No thanks. I said I was told that she could still refund the coupons there. She figured it out and gave me the cash. Now surely I'm not the only one who uses coupons. Heck, one of the coupons was a Target issued one. Why is this so hard? Tell me, why? Otherwise, this Target is the same as most. They definitely suffer from stocking issues more than most Targets. Addison is slightly better but I was at Riverpoint so this was the closer Target today. read more

Ahhh, Tar-gay. I wish I could quit you. Instead, I drop $200 a trip on stuff I didn't know I even "needed". But seriously. As far as the grocery dept goes, the food could be a bit fresher. I don't buy bread from Target as it's usually close to expiring. I will get produce that I am using within the next day or so. As far as prices, it can be tricky. I've found items on target.com for 39.99 and in the store for 49.99. Really?? That's a big difference. They will honor their online price but only if you go to customer service. I'd give Target 4 stars if my credit card wasn't fraudulently used in December after I shopped there. Pfft!! I'm still irritated by that. read more

Target, I cannot believe that I am only giving you two stars. I feel guilty and terrible - kind of like I'm somehow being unfaithful. We've grown quite connected after 5 years of unwavering loyalty and thousands of dollars in useless purchases. Unfortunately, though, I have to do this. The Elston location needs much improvement. As I type this, they're currently redoing the store and moving everything around to match the other "new" Targets that are popping up everywhere. The entire store is a huge mess right now with employees who don't know where anything is located and are clearly irritated with the number of customers who need help. If you try to go there during any normal time when a normal person would head there (after work, at night, on the weekends), you're going to find parking a challenge as there most likely won't be a spot. They never have enough checkout lanes open, so be prepared to wait awhile to make it through and be prepared to not find what you're looking for most of the time because the store is never on top of their inventory. Either that or because it's so busy that everything important is already gone. For example, why is it that I can go in there at any given point and find 20 different styles of knee-high, patterned socks that I'll never wear but the Charmin Ultra Soft toilet paper is always gone? Seriously. I needed that. So all in all, Target, I'll be visiting you either tonight or tomorrow and hopefully I won't be forced to park in the very last spot in the furthest corner from the door. I'll happily peruse your aisles and pitch a fit when I can't find the sunscreen that I need and I'll end up spending a good $200 on stuff I didn't even intend to buy. read more

Target is wonderful, and this is a Target. Expect everything you're used to having in any other Target, plus a Starbucks, groceries, heck, I think there's a Pizza Hut. Also, expect about half of the world's 7 billion people to be here at the same time as you are. Most of them will be screaming children. Your wait in line will remind you of that time your flight was delayed in western Nebraska for four hours. Yet I will keep going back, because I love Target, I am a glutton for punishment, and it's close to Pei Wei. read more

If you can steer clear from this Target, I would highly recommend choosing another Target. This Target store is actually closer to where I live, but I go out of my way and go to the Target on Division and Larrabee or the City Target on State Street instead where the layout is better, it's cleaner and the overall customer service is better. While this Target is quite large and stays open late (I think Midnight on Saturdays), it is just messy and disorderly in my opinion. I think the location is just bad also. The parking lot is big but it's crammed. It can be challenging to get in the parking lot from the street and I feel it is heavily accident prone if you are driving or walking. I've been there three or four times and at random days/times and every visit seems the same. read more

In my book, most Target stores start at a standard score or 4 stars. For this particular one, I'd take off a star for the insane yo-bitch-how'd-the-hell-did-you-get-a-license drivers zipping in and out of their parking lot. One more star gets taken off since this place is pretty much an animal house when you step through the doors. ... One redeeming event worthy of adding a star though - I found Tide Cold Water 100oz for $5 one time here. Cha-ching! read more

I trekked all the way out here to buy some goods for my mom's birthday gift. Wow, was I in for a surprise. To begin with, getting here was an absolute nightmare. I'm not sure what time would be better, but Elston is clogged worse than any LA freeway. The prices are much higher than other Targets (even those in LA), and the "go-to" items I can always rely on Target for, it turns out, I can't. Also, lots of items that were on sale were out of stock; in the bread aisle, there were almost more gaps than stocked items. I was so frustrated by having to drive all the way out here only to not get a single thing. Usually, you can get creative and find substitutes, however, when I can get the same items cheaper... Premium prices are not what I come to Target for! read more

It gets one star for having low prices for things you need -when they are actually in STOCK, that is! I think they're lying - this isn't the Big T I've come to love! It's Squall-Mart in disguise! Every Target I've ever been in has been clean and well-stocked and had helpful employees, whether it was in the area or in another state. Not this Target- 'tis a nightmare. Avoid this place unless you have the patience of Job. I swear you'll see every kind of miscreant imaginable here. Where do they come from? And WHY must mom, babydaddy, grandma, AND all 15 illegitimate kids go shopping together..and why HERE...one of the busiest stores (please note: you'll always find said families clogging up the chip or cereal aisles. Just where they need to be). There is also a trend of aging, chunky sorority girls shopping en masse for the best alcohol deals. Sometimes they all wear matching sweatpants and faux Ugg boots and talk to each other on their cells while they are in the same store together (yes, I've seen this here a few times). Bottom line is that it's just icky and makes you hate people even more. Yet I come back, because $3 for my Amy's Organic meals are a sweet deal. When they actually have some left. Oh, and seeing a "security" guy on a segway in the parking lot last time was pretty great. He's got a lot of responsibility, and what better way to declare authority than with a segway emblazoned with the Target bullseye? read more

**This is for the CVS pharmacy inside of this Target** NIKKI AND MARISOL SAVED MY FREAKING LIFE No, seriously. My inhaler ran out, and I was finna die...for really real. Not only were they not pissed that I ran, well...wheezed, my way in right before they closed....but then they helped me get around an insurance issue that randomly popped up. Wonderful, right? THE BEST IS YET TO COME MY FRIENDS THENNNN they found a magical coupon on the interwebs that made my $50 prescription FREE. YES FREE. FREE AS FUCK. They went above and beyond that day my friends (yelpers?). I think I love them. Is that creepy? Yeah you're right....it is. WHO CARES. Thanks ladies, I'm eternally grateful. read more

I've been to the Target on Addison - pain in the ass because of the escalator in the middle. If I'm shopping with a cart, I don't want to mess with getting the stupid thing up the escalator ramp. This location is just fine. Yes, it's usually crowded - but what Target in any place besides suburbia ISN'T usually crowded? It's usually well-stocked and I rarely have issues finding what I need here. For those of us limited to using city buses to get here, it's just a quick walk from the Diversey bus stop. The prices are consistently better than going to oh-so-convenient CVS or Jewel (hello, $2 for a SmartOnes meal that is $3.99 at the grocery store?! SOLD!) The food distributed under the Target-exclusive Archer Farms label is delicious! Finally, I rarely have to wait in a long line here - and that includes weekend trips. Their registers are usually well-staffed; the key is keeping your eyes open for the front aisles, which never seem to have long lines. I heart you, Bucktown Target, and I'll be back again real soon. I'm already feeling the need for more Archer Farms food... omnomnomnom. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHARMACY!!! The overall store is fine... not quite as nice as other targets. My main problem is with the pharmacy. The staff are terrible and do not understand insurance. I asked them to transfer my prescription from Medco mail-order they looked at me like I was crazy! I went back everyday for 3 days and they still cannot figure it out. They asked me for Medco's number two different times. On the last day I asked to make sure they had my insurance info and the lady rolled her eyes and disappeared behind the counter. read more

Going to target wears me out! Every time I come I know I'm going to get several things that just aren't on the list. For the most part that's ok. I love coming to this target because it literally has everything here. We can come in and grab a coffee and get whatever we need and don't need off of our list. Today they are having great sales on wine and beer which is fabulous for us! It feels a little picked over at this time because it's back to school season. Therefore, I suggest coming during the week or calling ahead for things you might want to get. For instance, we wanted to get new lunch bags but the selection is really small right now. read more

Target - I didn't even think I'd get a dish rack. #targetblackhole - Department Stores Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I love Target. I am a slave to Target. But, I was slightly disappointed with this one. It could've been my fault for going at 8:30 (they close at 10). When I got to the store I have bad luck with three different shopping carts I tried. So, I said screw it and I got to listen to a squeaky wheel for about 45 minutes. I was about ready to commit myself to the psych ward (which if you ever need to know is the 8th floor of UIC Hospital...long story). As usually I'm always able to find everything I need, and many things I don't need, that seemingly find their way into my cart. Damn you Target. I was in the accessory aisle and two employees were speaking about their personal lives....and I mean way too detailed. It just really put me off to shopping. Go get a coffee from the Starbucks off the clock and talk about it. Also, when I was walk down an aisle there were two employees completely goofing off and another one yelled at them about the aisle being a mess. Their response....nothing they continued to goof off and let the other employee clean up the mess. read more

I love Target. I mean, absolutely adore Target. But this one sucks. I totally understand that it's a crowded and busy place and so the clerks or people working the floor have a lot to do. I understand that they might be tired from dealing with rude customers and management and what not. But not every patron at Target is going to rob the store and I don't appreciate being treated like a felon when I walk in there. I've tried returning things without a receipt (which you're allowed to do as long as you have the card with which you purchased the item) and was given the stinkeye. Way, way more than once. The first time I ever tried to try something on here was a total nightmare-- had more than four items and asked the attendant to hold my other items, returned to get them and they were gone. You have to fight for a parking spot...and obtaining a shopping cart? Don't hold your breath! The shelves are usually empty. And the lines are INSANE! There are never enough lines open and the clerks are slow and rude. Don't even bother trying to buy alcohol here because it will take a year for you to get approved. Two stars only because it is a Target. It doesn't even really deserve that. read more

I love this target. It is better than most targets I've been to in Chicago. They have EVERYTHING. Customer service is great too. The cartwheel app in combo with having the red card will save you a ton! read more

It's Christmas time (for my hypothetical story.) You are going to a store to pick up presents for your loved ones. It is beyond crowded and you are creepily stalking a shopper that has just exited the building in the hopes of stealing their parking spot. Someone else takes it. You punch the steering wheel and yell words only Lil' Wayne is allowed to say. You wait longer and finally track someone down that is kind enough to direct you to a parking spot. After parking, you make your way in to the store with your shopping list. "In and out," you say. "Ten minutes max," you say. You glance around but there are no carts and no baskets. It is a free-for-all. Kids run uncontrollably rampant like it's free Mountain Dew day at a Chuck-E-Cheese. Panic ensues. You make your way to designated isles with much resistance from carts and highly trained soccer moms. After finally getting what you need and fumbling to keep it all in your feeble arms, you make it to the front only to see lines as far as the eye can see. After waiting for what seems like an eternity among crying children and [generally] lazy tellers, you make it back to the anarchy that is the parking lot only to be creepily stalked by someone hoping to catch a glimpse of your parking spot table scraps. I guess that's how Christmas shopping goes, right? Except it's not Christmas. I lied. It's all year 'round. It happens EVERY TIME you want to go to Target. Every time. It's not natural. The store is too crowded and sloppy. There is generally crap everywhere, and you can never find what you're looking for. I very rarely find someone that can help me and when I do, they act like I just asked if I could kill their first-born son. I very rarely make my way to this location, but if you're forced to go here, wear a helmet and don't forget your patience. read more

So i visit the Pharmacy and stood underneath the Drop-Off sign. So, I get yelled at by one young dumb lady behind the counter 10ft away by saying CAN I HELP YOU!! I hold up my prescription. She ignore it and again yells at me by saying CAN I HELP YOU!! now with an attitude. This time i get annoyed, I stare at the Drop-off sign above me, and i say Yeah, I Have a Drop -Off! Well, Hell! She walks over to me all disgusted cause i made her fat ass work. She just looks at my prescriptions and tell me, "Well, i dont think we have this." so she goes looks around picks her nose and scratches her ass and certainly without a second verification from like a Pharmacist, tells me "Yup we dont have it." So, to the inexperience girl who worked 3/31/09 at 11:18am at Pharmacy Dept. YOU SUCK!!! WalMart here i come. read more

This Target gets two stars for being the closest location to my house and having items in stock. Everything else about it sucks. The checkout lines are ridiculously long, there are unconscientious shoppers lingering in the aisles with their carts and 12 kids, and the parking lot is a deathtrap worse than I-90 at 8am on Monday mornings. Add an extra 30 minutes to your trip just to get in/out of the lot. Good luck. You'll need it to come out alive. read more

Another devoted Target fan here. This place has gotten a lot better crowds-wise since they built other Targets in Chicago. That said, coming here on the weekend is still a pain in the arse. Be prepared for lots of bitch-faces and people running into you with their carts and not saying "sorry". That's Chicago's fault though, not Target's. This Target seems to have a bigger selection than the other ones in every area except cosmetics and toiletries, which seems to be better at the Peterson Avenue location. Target's clothes have improve a lot in recent years. They not only have the guest designer collections every few months but their house brands are starting to carry some nice staple wardrobe pieces that are up-to-date but not too trendy and can suffice till you can afford Marc Jacobs or whatever. Unfortunately, it seems like whatever Target I go to, my size is sold out. read more

Typical inner city Target: packed to the gills with shoppers, sold out of common items, mess of a parking situation, and annoying people with kids everywhere. The screaming children noise never really subsides; I often find myself very capable of child abuse at this store. The city planners/alderman sure shit the bed on this one. The points of ingress/egress (in/out) are begging for an accident every time someone uses them. Horrible parking situation, not just because of the traffic but because of the set-up. This Target sucks more than the one on Addison partly because instead of GameStop and Hot Doug's, you get America's Best and Jo-Ann Fabrics (shudder). The only good thing about inner city Chicago Target Stores is making Lakeview/Lincoln Park people finally have to come over to Logan Square to shop. Sweet revenge! read more

Dang, people are rough on Target. I like this place. I can spend a half hour looking over washcloths in various colors and then another hour in the clothing section. There is a ton of fun to be had in toys. Music and DVDs - not so much. The accessories are a hoot. I mean, have you SEEN the sunglass collection? Ridiculous. And fabulous. I can swing on over to office supplies for a paper shredder and also get some inexpensive storage for my craft supplies. Wait! I also need cat litter. Good thing that is a few aisles over. I can grab some toilet paper and deoderant while I am on the north side of the store. They might have some great bookcases on sale too. Target is what is proposes to be - a discount retailer. I would not buy any serious clothes here (and would never buy any shoes here) and there are better places for furniture and a lot of other things. But, for someone like me without a car, I love taking advantage of the variety of things available when I can sucker one of my friends with a car into going with me. Actually, most of them like it as much as I do. They also have - for every single holiday - a decoration made out of dyed feathers and glue and some kind of styrofoam base. Real talk. For Halloween, it was a creepy black crow. For Christmas, a feathered styrofoam cone that is supposed to be some kind of Christmas tree (can you imagine being a bird that landed on a tree only to realize it was made out of feathers - creepy). I heart Target. read more

This Target is awesome, and it's always hoppin! At least I don't feel so bad about doing most of my shopping on a Friday night since other 20 something urbanites are shopping at the same time. This place is also great if you need to buy baby clothes. For whatever reason, they always have cool looking baby clothes on the clearance rack. Just last night I picked up a cool baby polo shirt and jeans for around $13 total. What a deal! read more

I love Target. Who among you doesn't go into one a few times a month? This location has been my go-to Target for the past few years. Whether it's for work or home I always find what I need and really the price is never more or less, (usually less) than going to 5 other different places. Would I trade Wal-Mart for Target? I don't think so. I've never lived near a Wal-Mart but really when given the choice Target is it. This one is clean, workers are everywhere. I've never really needed one but when I have they've been helpful. It's generally pretty busy but I was in there yesterday(Thursday) around 11am and it felt desserted. I felt like I had the whole store to myself without fighting other shopping carts. What a treat! read more

When I go to a mall, or a big box store, I tend to get over stimulated. My pupils will dilate, I'll get dizzy, my palms will sweat - so obviously, I'm a real treat to go shopping with. However, even I cannot stay away from Target. There's just a sense of calmness in knowing I can go somewhere and get q-tips, an $8 bottle of Menage A Trois, and a camping chair all at the same time. This particular Target is one of the top three highest grossing in America. To avoid the deal loving masses, I try to make my trips at 8am when they open, or on my lunch break during the week. Go any other time you will see this place is quite a zoo. I usually find the store in good order and the staff friendly but, again, I am there at off hours when things are pretty chill - I suggest you keep your head and do the same. read more

I'm bumping my rating up to a 3 now that the new grocery area is open. Its setup seems to have provided more room (might be an illusion). The new grocery area stocks a lot more things than they used to, including meat. It seems like they used the upgrade to the groceries to tidy the entire store up a bit. Come on, how can you not give Target 5 stars? AND, how can you not enjoy the pleasures it has to offer? Where else can you buy cheaper more comfortable underwear/socks/sale rack sleepin' pants? Where else can you save more money for your girl who insists on buying cute birthday cards 10 at a time "just in case they're needed soon? Where else can you get in a fight over whether or not there are 3 lines for the express checkout with a girl who has her man's name misspelled on her neck tattoo? Where else are you more likely to get snaked by an oblivious/uncaring motorist who clearly sees your turn signal and the patience you exhibit in waiting for the mother of 14 to get her pampers into her 1992 SUV only to zip around the corner and right in the space you've been waiting for?? Where else can you attempt to make a left turn out of the parking lot and watch unbelievingly as the guy behind you pulls AROUND you to turn left through traffic moving in 3 directions without any regard for personal safety or vehicular damage? I've been shopping at this Target for nearly 15 years. Through granny carts, overloaded plastic sack bike trips, and recyclable bag-toting jaunts through the pigeon graveyard that is the Western/Logan bridge, this Target has sadly become a big part of my life. read more

I really like Target in general: I don't feel bad about myself when leaving, unlike Wal-Mart, and the prices are OK (not as great as people think, but OK). This store is usually in decent shape, I've never had any problems with the staff, and they're usually well-stocked. They finally have a fair selection of (frozen and non-perishable) food. I know they've become well-known for their women's clothes, but I tried on some men's clothes and was NOT impressed. For the price, I'll stick to Marshall's, disorganized though they may be. My main problem: I've left this particular location several times without entering the store because of the parking lot. It's a nightmare. My advice: DO NOT go on weekends. Best time to go is during the week, maybe an hour before closing (I think this location closes at 9 or 10). Minus one star just for the parking drama. read more

I am normally a huge fan of Target, but this one sucks. It's dirty, unorganized, and usually missing the item you came there specifically for. Ick. I will only be back in an emergency, but really, the one on Addison isn't that far away. read more

This is my my favorite Target. However, the reason it got 4 stars is because I'm convinced that everyone shops at this Target and that's the reason that I can't find something when I'm actually looking for it. Of course, the item is always there when I'm contemplating buying it. I hate when they change the layout of this store, because I'm so programmed to browse departments in a certain order and changing the layout screws with my browsing! However, I'll forgive them, especially because they're open until 11! Not that I've had to go here that late, but, I remember when I saw that sign that their hours were changing and a little part of me jumped for joy. It's too bad my Target buddy (also my photobooth, ikea and drinking buddy) is in California. In all honesty, I like this Target the most because everything's on one floor and there's not lots of ridiculous walls that block you from going down an aisle like there are at suburban Targets. Plain and simple...it's not a maze. The bathrooms are clean (and have those awesome Exelerator (sp?) hand driers) and the lines actually move fast. FACT: The express lines are separate lines. Don't get mad when I walk ahead of you and the five people behind you who formed a single line despite them repeating "express lanes are separate lines". Just saying. Chances are if they're out of your size here in something, they'll have it at Addison, but know that this Target seems to have the best selection as far as "work out" attire goes. The South Loop location is a joke. TIP: If you're picking up a prescription...shop first because they'll ring up everything there. Then again, I've usually gone up there with a handful of things (that I picked up while waiting for my prescription....) but they've always asked if I wanted them to just ring me up there and obviously I agreed. I hate this place only because I can rarely spend less than $30 there! Oh, the girls who work at the return desk are actually quite nice. Well, most of them anyhow. I can't say I blame them though. If there's any worse job than cashiering it would probably have to be returns & exchanges. read more

Normally, I really enjoy going to Target... but not this one. On a Friday afternoon, they were out of quite a lot of product. Also, I don't know if it's the design of this particular store or the fact that it was way too busy, but it was impossible to maneuver my cart around. By the end of my shopping experience I decided I was never going to have children and I was never going shopping again. I'm sure that after I take an aleve and lay down, I'll change my mind... but that should give you adequate warning of what to expect at THIS Target location. read more

This is seriously the busiest store in Chicago... all... the... time... It really is insane. The parking lot is always full - weekends are just crazy! However once you're inside it doesn't feel too crowded... maybe because it is so large. It somehow always stays organized and clean even though I never see many staff members roaming around. It has food, clothes, home decor - really everything you need in one place which is why I like it. The area is always so crowded though. I hate the traffic. read more

This Target store made me stop shopping at Target altogether. The parking lot is always jammed, there are never any shopping carts available, the store is dirty and in disarray, many items are sold out, and the checkout lines are ridiculously long.
