Anyone who has been to a pharmacy knows that it's not a day at the amusement park. So you'd think it wouldn't surprise me that Target pharmacy sucks. Well guess again. Target pharmacy takes suckage to a whole new level. Everyone there looks like deers in headlights.
Went to Target pharmacy to fill a prescription for a generic drug. After waiting 30 minutes the agent tells me that they don't have enough in stock to fill my prescription and then just stares at me. This is the point where the agent is supposed to offer the solution. But no. She just stares at me blankly. So it's clearly my responsibility to come up with a solution so I ask her if she can just give me what's in stock and I can return in a few days to pick up the rest when it comes in stock. She says "oh" with a surprised look and follows with "let me check if that's okay." Wait what?? Isn't that common practice to do a partial prescription. You have to ask???? It should have been offered!!
So she checks with the pharmacist and the pharmacist says yes. So she fills what was in stock and rings me up. The price of my GENERIC medication comes out to be more than the brand. So I say "how could the generic cost more than the brand name medication? That doesn't seem accurate." By the way my medication has never come out to that price at any other pharmacy! So she says yeah, I dunno, that's weird" and just stares blankly. Do you think she took initiative to make sure the price was indeed accurate? Nooooo. Of course not. At this point I just wanted to get out of there so I paid what I was pretty sure was not accurate pricing. They tell me to return in two days after 2 pm and the rest of my prescription will be in stock.
Fast forward two days, I show up, wait 20 minutes only for them to tell me that they were unable to get it in stock. That the manufacturer was out of stock. So they couldn't have called me to let me know that instead of letting me waste time showing up???? So they tell me to return before I run out of medication (which is about two weeks). In between that time I contact the manufacturer who says that they have plenty of stock and have NO idea why the Target pharmacy is saying they can't get any from the manufacturer. Gee, why am I not surprised.
So I return in two weeks and wait 30 minutes for them to tell me that they've been "trying everyday for two weeks to order the medication and have been unable to get any from the manufacturer." Then they stare at me blankly, as is their pattern. They don't offer a solution as any normal pharmacy would. No, just stare at customers blankly. So, again, it's up to me to offer a solution so I ask if they can just give me a different generic (the brand of medication I take has 5 generic versions, one of which I'm sure was in stock). So again, they look surprised and say "let me ask." Wait what?????? Substituting for a different generic is COMMON practice as long as a script doesn't have the "no substitutions" box checked (and mine doesn't).
So after asking the pharmacist they say they can substitute. So after waiting another 20 minutes they fill the remainder of my script and ring me up. I see that they've substituted for the brand. Do you think they checked to see what the generic versions were and whether they had one of the other generic versions in stock? Nope. They didn't. Then here comes the kicker. They tell me I owe them X amount of dollars because the brand costs more than the generic. Ding, ding, ding. Okay dodo birds, two weeks ago you charged me a higher price for the generic than the brand and told me the generic costs more than the brand, which I said didn't sound accurate. Now two weeks later you're telling me the opposite. You see the problem here? So when I bring this up to the pharmacist...wait for it......she just stares at me blankly! omfg. No checking of the price, no solution, no checking to see if I was overcharged last time. Nothing. Just staring at me blankly.
Have you seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation when Chevy Chase receives a gift card for the jelly of the month club instead of his yearly bonus and has an epic meltdown?? Yeah I was five seconds from that so I just hurried up and paid and got the hell out of there. Otherwise I would have gone Rihanna on them in her "Bitch Better Have My Money" video and locked one of them in my trunk. Needless to say I'm transferring my prescription elsewhere. There's no way I would torture myself by ever going back to a Target Pharmacy.
Dear Target:
"I want to tell you what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, brainless, dickless, heartless, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit you are."
