You know a restaurant serves good Mexican food when the place is full of Hispanics during lunch! I had the pork green Chile chimichanga with green sauce-no sour cream and no guacamole. I got it enchilada style. It was very good. It came with rice and beans and a little salad. Next time I go, I think I will try the hard tacos though. The chimichanga was huge and it was hard to cut therefore making it hard to eat. The flavor was good though. I also had an orange Fanta, which is one of my favorite sodas. All in all it's a good spot. However, I was a little grossed out when one of the customers went to the salsa bar, and his hands were filthy. You could tell he was a construction worker that clearly worked with his hands, because his hands and pants were covered in dirt and oil! Watching him get the salsa from the salsa bar made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. It wasn't the restaurants fault but damn that was kind of nasty! Lastly, my meal was $32. That was a bit steep for Mexican food especially at lunchtime. The Fanta was $5.25. And they charged an extra three dollars for the chimichanga to be enchilada style. I love Mexican food but $32 is asking a bit much. Hence the four stars.

I've driven past this place so often it was time to pull in. I ordered myself 3 rolled tacos which were delish and I thoroughly enjoyed. I also wanted to try their birria it was good I'll definitely order it again and my son did love his burrito saying that the flavors were spot on the meat juicy not dry and dont judge he even dipped it in the biŕria sauce.

The food is amazing. The birria taco and beef taco are amazing and then there is the Grande breakfast burrito which is aptly named. Just ridiculous and full of flavor with the carne asada, potatoes, red peppers and onions. Make sure you get a side of refried beans too. You'll thank me later.

My first time visit I ordered churros, grande al pastor & grande asada burritos. Both burritos & churros were really good and the staff were amazing. Well worth the 1 hour + round trip drive.

We were in Mesa for my son's judo tournament and decided to get some Mexican food. If you're familiar with Mesa you can throw a rock in any direction and hit several places for Mexican food. The restaurant has around 10 tables and a drive thru so you can get your food in or to go. We chose to eat there and went up to the counter to order. The menu is extensive. I originally wanted the Al Pastor but did not see a trompo so I decided to order just one taco to try it. Instead I ordered the beef fajitas. They were flat top grilled crispy, not wood grilled. That said they were still very good. And you could update probably feed three on just one order. They came with rice and beans as well. My wife got the cheese enchilada and two crispy taco combo. The enchiladas were very good and she saved the tacos for later. The inside was clean and casual while being bright and modern. Our only pet peeve which brought down the rating and also had happened at another restaurant the night before was they started mopping the floors around you with the Fabuloso cleaner which has that smell the overwhelms you and ruins the taste of anything your eating at the time.

May 2026 Drive-Thru menu

Still great after my original post 12 years ago. A lot of upgrades and improvements (and inflation) in the meantime. Posting an updated drive-thru menu as of May 2026.

I've been coming here for several years, since before the interior was redone. And about the interior - - It is super cute now with pretty cool murals on the wall. On one little section of wall is a painting of Cantiflas, another wall a giant day of the dead girl, and on the opposite wall dancing skeletons and colorful flowers. They also use corrugated tin on the walls which really goes so well. There is a little salsa bar and several booths. These are not really comfortable booths, but they do the trick. The girl at the counter was very nice. When we asked if the green chili pork was hot she said she did not know, but then she went and got a sample for us to taste with chips. It was not hot, but it was delicious! We ordered one of the specials of the day - - a carne asada burrito with three rolled tacos. It was a huge meal, but a delicious meal. We also ordered the green chili pork burrito, and a combo plate with three carne asada tacos. Everything was good especially with the delicious salsas from the salsa bar. The menu is quite large with tacos, burritos, sopas, and tortas. We also sell a lot of people with large cups of horchata. This place is really hopping. When we arrived, the drive-thru had a line all the way out to the street. Inside it was a constant stream of people picking up or ordering to eat in.

A few fellow Yelper friends have reviewed, so this location has been on my radar when I was in the area. The wait to try was definitely worth it! Great menu selection, fresh food, friendly service, and a cozy dining area. A cheese quesadilla may sound simplistic, but some are far superior to others - this being one! Loved the salsa bar and that the quesadillas come with the trio of toppings to elevate the flavor. Definitely return and may try the drive thru to see the convenience of ordering to go.

You order at the window, food is then brought out to you. Food was excellent, service is great. Seemed steady busy at the time we were there.

I'm so happy I decided to go here, was craving some good authentic mexican food and boy did Taquitos Jalisco go way over my expectations!! The portions are bountiful, the flavors are outstanding, the customer service was awesome, we had a vegetarian in our party and they happily accommodated! Would love to see more vegetarian options like nopales tacos or beyond steak! That would be amazing on top of an already amazing place. Thank you Taquitos Jalisco!

Currently one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Mesa, this friendly, family-owned establishment consistently delivers excellent food. The dishes are flavorful and authentic, the prices are reasonable, and the variety of salsas is a standout feature. The staff is welcoming, and the dining area is clean and comfortable. I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area.

Grilled Steak Taco, Pork Taco, Mix Asada and Pastor Taco

It was Tuesday, and after waking up and discovering a new show on Netflix about tacos, I started craving them. You know, the kind with fresh, homemade thick maíz tortillas, flavorful meats, and all the right condiments that tie everything together and make you grateful you have taste buds. Yes, those tacos. I quickly googled the best tacos near me and, since I'm greedy and love a good deal, searched for "Taco Tuesday" specials too. Taquitos Jalisco popped up first, and it was only about a mile away, so I decided to give it a try. When I arrived, I noticed the building was small but had a drive-through, which was perfect because it was freezing outside. I pulled up to the drive-through menu, and the first thing that caught my eye was a sign that said, "Like us on Facebook and get two churros." I thought to myself, wow, any place that offers free dessert must be doing pretty well. It gave me a good feeling that they had a healthy customer base, which made me even more confident about stopping by. Looking over the menu, I found it colorful and well organized, which I really appreciate, especially from a family-owned spot. The girl on the intercom was friendly and polite, even when I asked for a moment to review the options. When I asked if they had a Taco Tuesday deal, she said they did not, but that was fine because the taco prices were already pretty decent. I ordered three tacos: carnitas, steak, and a mix of asada and al pastor. My total came to about $6.68, which was not bad at all for three fresh tacos. When I pulled around to the front, I noticed a sign that said "All cards + $0.50." I wish I had brought cash, but even with the small fee, I was extremely pleased with the food I brought home. Overall, the tacos were delicious and satisfying. I have already recommended this place to my boyfriend, and we will definitely be back.

I like small authentic Mexican restaurants similar to those in Mexico. It may not be "American" enough for some but I dig it.

How are the chilaquiles?

I had them twice. They were great but I recommend extra meat as the restaurant keeps portions small.

Since 2016, this non-profit diner has been directly supporting homebound cancer patients through sponsored meals. The menu is deep, and the food is incredible! And honestly, I feel confident with all of their options. The place was packed and everyone looked satisfied. I ordered the chilaquiles which were a delightful offering of crispy tortilla chips covered in earthy red chili, topped with a velvety poached egg, on a bed of hearty pinto beans that had a hint of cumin, all which was drizzled with a rich crema and crumbled queso fresco. My dad had the Rueben and he said it was in his top-three he's ever had! Even during the Saturday brunch rush we were seated promptly, the kitchen was swift and our waitress was kindly attentive to our needs. We will definitely be adding this fine establishment to our short list, and can see why this is a community staple.

We arrived on a Sunday at their new location, which is super nice, VW bus and all. :) While relatively small, it is many times larger than their old location around the corner. You can sit inside at a table, at the bar, or at one of the few patio tables on a nice day. We sat inside for this first visit, and a friendly server took our order. We chose to order from the breakfast menu, and I ordered The Camper: Crispy double-dipped fried chicken thigh smothered in savory gravy and topped with cheese, three slices of Nueske's peppered bacon, and an over-easy egg, served on a housemade butter biscuit. My wife ordered the CSA Scramble: Farm-fresh veggies from Crooked Sky Farms CSA basket scrambled with three eggs, served with fruit, sliced tomato, and 9-grain toast. Needless to say, we were both impressed. The Camper was absolutely perfect. I would not change a thing. The gravy was just special, and there was so much food, I took some home. My wife's dish was fresh and perfect for what she was looking for. Do consider donating to this worthy cause. We chose to, and you can even donate right on your bill so that it goes right on your credit card if you so choose. We eat at hole in the walls and expensive places. But often we look at each other and choose between Dennys or VI, and are happy! Today, May 16th at VI on Signal Butte - rough start by a waitress who told both of us "I need to know your pie order. NOW." Resturant was not busy. Not at all. It was 4:15 maybe. Slow on a SUNDAY post-winter visitor rush on a late Spring day. Rushed. I pointed to my 3-6pm dinner choice of TURKEY. I showed her. "Just as it comes. She repeated it back to me as she typed in into her handheld computer. Chicken fried steak arrived. And a sausage looking oval patty shape of stuffing. Two long finger prints in it. I wondered if she picked up my loose stuffing as it's normally served here in America, or rather the chef did this to all who request it. I told my husband to look for spit in his food. My hubby? Nicest guy ever. But when he knows I didn't want and could not manage fried beef..but I had fasted 21 hours. I needed sliced fresh high protein meat. Wait another 15 min or eat the mess on my plate? I told her I'd eat it. Truly don't like complaining let alone confrontation with a Russian native with a sharp attitude because of a rough life. My nephew is from there so I GET the trauma. and I though I know I can usually switch my palate. But not for this plate of food. I felt sick looking at it. "Just eat the 'steak' I picked the stuffing apart - could not eat more than a thimble. Gummy gluten salty yuck was inedible. The FINGERPRINTS! 2 Fingertips past knuckles imprinted. I left it and hope someone there stopped to think "Why?" Our Waitress tried to make up by suddendly being nice when she walked behind me with a second piece of pie ...to go home. Thanked me for being agreeable or something. I nodded. I remember this saying if you l oh someone's attention the first three seconds and first three steps you'll spend the next 30 min trying to make them believe you're hiring. It's true. I was too tired this week to be extremely understanding but I'm never rude. I told my hubby let's both let this one go. And I said "But we won't return here." He nodded in agreement. Because I see people come in and sit down I see how tired they are and make quick calls to be able to turn their day around if only for a short time before they return home....to being a caregiver or to grieve a loss. Sad dinner and maybe she had a tough week too. But. But times 3 over.
