    Sodas they offer?

So this place is just a hole in the wall, but I really like little hole in the wall places! It looks like only two guys run this place, but this place is delicious! You order at the counter & they bring it to your table. I ordered the chips & salsa which they make right there! The salsa is in like a little lava bowl. It's really cute. My Birria taco special was fantastic!, seasoned with some spices & I can dunk it & sauces! My chips and salsa were perfect. My chips were not greasy, and the salsa was very spicy to me anyway, but it grew on me so it couldn't have been that hot. I also got a tamarin juice which I've never had before and I really liked it. I will be back!

Tasty food, beautiful presentation, friendly and excellent service. Pricing is reasonable. Only criticism I'll say is that the seating doesn't consider the needs of larger folks or people who might need chairs with arms. The chairs are TINY. Cool, but tiny.

Ordered takeout from Taqueria. We tried a few burritos, the steak, spicy shrimp and a chicken. Also a chicken quesadilla and guacamole. It arrived in about an hour and was still hot and fresh. Overall, everything was solid, very tasty. The burrito had a bit of a char as if it was grilled. I wished there was just a tad more flavor and I used a good amount of the green sauce provided to amp it up. They also provided a reddish sauce which had more of a kick. Overall, I'd visit again and would recommend trying.

Only place around that has suadero, and it's phenomenal. Best tacos around by far. Prices are fair.

Best tacos I've had in while and also the closest to authentic in CT. Workers are also really nice and the place is small and cozy.

Thought they'd be good tacos. Turned out to be excellent tacos. Had Al Pastor, Carnitas and Chorizo. Great stuff.

I do wish there were more signs, as both the parking lot and the entrance felt a bit vague and easy to miss. Once we finally found our way inside, we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere reminded me of another local tavern. Staffed by friendly people. The food was good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. My only disappointment was the lack of information about the history of the establishment. There is a lot of marketing that references its connection to a jailhouse on the menu, but very little information is actually shared within the tavern itself. I found myself wanting to learn more about the story behind the place. I also think it would be fun to add a photo-op area--perhaps even outdoors--with a set of mock jail bars where guests could take pictures. It would fit the theme and add a memorable touch. The tavern itself is fairly small, so I can imagine it gets quite crowded during busy times. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out.

The sweet potato fries were very crispy and delicious. I would get the same meal again as would my wife. What really stood out was the outstanding service. Crispy on the outside, packed with well-seasoned chicken inside. Good spice, not overpowering. Came with a salsa and a ketchup-mayo style sauce, both worked, but the salsa had a little more life to it. Before that, warm ciabatta hit the table with a house-made dipping sauce. Oil-based with garlic, blue cheese, and a few other layers going on. The blue cheese gave it a subtle kick without taking over. Nice way to start. Now to the burger, the Luger Burger. I'm assuming it's a nod to the classic steakhouse, but didn't get full confirmation. The sauce is made in-house: slightly sweet, a little acidic (I picked up balsamic), smooth texture. It's a good sauce, it just needed a bigger voice on this burger. The burger itself is large. And I mean large. Menu said thick-cut bacon... that wasn't the case. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. Now I'm going to get a little critical, because this is where it matters. The burger needed more salt. There's a lot of beef here, and it can absolutely handle it. Even something as simple as salting the tomato would've helped bring things together. If the bacon had actually been thick-cut, that alone might've bridged the gap. This was a very beef-forward burger, to the point where the supporting flavors barely showed up. The patty felt a bit too tightly packed, which gave it a denser bite and let the beef dominate the whole experience. A looser grind or lighter hand forming it would've made it more tender and allowed everything else to come through. It also needed more acid. The Luger sauce was applied lightly, so either lean into it more or bring in something else, a pickle, a sharper onion, something to cut through the richness and balance it out. The bun was soft, nicely toasted, and held up well, which isn't easy with a burger this size. Fries were hand-cut, properly salted, and exactly what you want. No complaints there. Overall, this is a great spot. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. Staff was excellent. Food was good, with flashes of being really good. With a few small tweaks, mainly balance and execution on the burger, this could easily jump to the next level.

Just functional. I was there on an NFL Sunday. There were lots of regulars. There was good interaction with the staff. I didn't catch her name, but the woman who was the only person working the bar and waiting on the tables was amazing. She was super friendly to everyone. She hustled to meet everyone's needs. It wouldn't surprise me if she is an owner too. It's hard to find people, who aren't owners, who are that committed. I asked for a wing flavor recommendation and she said "Montreal Honey" first. I ordered 6. The wings are part-baked and then finished in a fryer. Good inner and outer texture. The Montreal Seasoning was right on. The Honey didn't have much of a presence either visually or flavor-wise. More was needed to balance the salt from the Montreal Seasoning and to justify the Honey in the name. I tried both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch. I'd recommend the Blue Cheese. I'll definitely return to try more wing flavors. I also ordered a crock of chili, which was full of ground beef and topped with melted cheddar and chopped red onions. The chili was solid. I'd probably try something else before I ordered it again though. I'm a fan of Hideaway and I'll be back. 4.25 Stars
