Still really good! This time I needed something that would still be good after my 45 min drive so I got empanadas. I got beef. $16 for two but they were huge! Shredded beef and not ground beef. I'm marking one star off only because I'm not a big fan of the house salsa. It is good and smoky- it's just not 'my salsa' of choice so that could impact how often I eat here. The space is clean and beautiful. The staff is wonderful and there are so many options, you couldn't get bored if you went everyday for a week. I saw others order some specials and they come out with amazing presentation. On this day I ordered individual tacos- short rib, al pastor, and pork belly. The pork belly was the star of the show - although some pieces were a bit too fatty for my liking. I just picked those parts out. It was so tender and flavorful- loved loved loved. The short rib had a nice flavor but I wasn't a fan of the 'bristle' texture. The al pastor was good as well but lack luster next to the pork belly. The food - amazing! The service - amazing! The horchata - to die for! This was my very first time going to Salsa's 3 and I am hooked. The food was delicious and deceivingly filling. When I first saw the 3 tacos (ordered the grilled chicken tacos) I thought I should have ordered more, but no the 3 were perfect if not stuffing myself the last couple of bites. My only regret was not trying a variety with how good the food was! Very fresh, filling but not heavy/rich, hot sauces had the perfect heat! I can't wait to go back and try more! read more

I am a big fan of Salsa's Newington and Wethersfield location so I had to stop at this one while on a recent visit to Middletown. Although all locations have the same menu - I love that there menu items that are specific to that location. They have indoor and out door seating although parking can be a bit tough. We ended up taking ours to-go for that very reason. I love tacos but more importantly taco variety and Salsa's does that so well. I love that you can purchase singular tacos. You can't go wrong with any of their tacos - but I'm particularly fan of a pork belly, Shrimp and mushroom taco combo myself. read more

We stopped into Salsa's 3 on a weekday afternoon for some lunch. The service at the counter was friendly and knowledgeable about ingredients in the food. It can often be difficult to dine out with allergies, but Salsa's 3 was very helpful in assuring us about ingredients. They did, however, charge a $1 modification charge, even though it was just removing items- not adding. Oh well. We had 2 carne asada tacos, 2 shrimp tacos, and a plate of nachos. This was the third time I've had Mexican food at this place, and I must say it is consistently great. I had the Carne Asada Burrito, and it was fantastic. Very flavorful and well-seasoned. It was amply sized too, at $19 through Grubhub. I was a little bummed that Grubhub seems to mark it up and charge a service fee. Luckily I had an Amazon Prime deal on the no delivery charge though. Sometimes the best places for food are the locally owned holes in the wall, they put some much love and effort into their dishes. This was the case at Salsa's. Came here on a recommendation looking for a quick and easy bite to eat. My wife and I ordered chips and salsa along with 2 Al Pastor tacos, a horchata beverage and 3 birria tacos. You could make the case for all 3 dishes being a standout on their own. The birria tacos came with delicious consumme which is a must for dunking these tacos into. The meat was so juicy and tender along with the gooey jack and Oaxaca cheese, just outstanding. I can always appreciate a place that respect a good chips and salsa, they even gave us a refill once we saw we were low. They also had a habanero salsa I asked for, good heat and a nice change of pace. The Al Pastor tacos were incredible as well, fresh ingredients, limes and radishes to go along with an abundance of meat and toppings. My boyfriend and I have been home quarantining so to take a break from cooking everyday, we ordered from Salsa's. We often eat from the one on the Pike, so it was cool to find out one was close to home within delivery range. He ordered our usual tacos but I went with beef flautas for a change. The beef was still very juicy and seasoned perfectly! The shells were still crisp. The salad topping was really fresh and just the right amount to pair with the goodness underneath. Ordered 2 of every taco that they had on the menu to go for some of my friends who just moved to the area. A great choice for feeding a group of friends who helped with moving. The fried & grilled fish tacos were superb, favorite out of all the options. The homemade hot sauce was great, but the light green one tasted like it was "fermenting" with a touch of carbonation to it, and not in the best way. Our order consisted of chicken flautas, a carnitas empanada and a mole burrito. The flautas were the best I've had locally, loaded with beautiful fresh toppings. The rice and beans that came with them were a nice surprise extra to our meal. Yummy mole sauce, and the empanada was tasty as well. Plenty of cilantro, which I loved. Cilantro-haters (like my friend, with whom I shared all these amazing dishes) may not like the green sauce on the flautas. They offer free chips with a tasty, authentic chunky salsa.
