Great place! I was craving tacos and Tacos Mi Nacho had the best reviews in my area. We got there about 20 minutes before closing and they were still so nice and patient while we decided what to order. I told the it was our first time there and the lady taking my order answered some questions I had with a smile. I ordered 1 cow tongue taco, 1 al pastor taco, a kids beef burrito and a steak burrito. The kids burrito is a great deal. You get a choice of a burrito or quesadilla and it comes with fries for 9 bucks. The lady was so humble she didn't even realize they had great reviews online until I showed her. Everything was good with my favorite being the burrito and the cow tongue and my least favorite being the al pastor (not that it wasn't good, it was just ok). The food was ready quickly and they even gave us 2 of their limeades on the house! Delicious btw I highly recommend their homemade limeade. It's so refreshing and sweet and the perfect compliment to the fat is and burritos. The food smelled so good even in the container lol. I'm def going to be a regular here. read more

I ordered nachos de asada It was about 7:15pm I haven't ate anything I was near southington so I gave them a try. The chips were stale and tasted old The meat looked old as well Two pieces of tomato with a sad amount of beans .. very disappointed not sure if the Meriden location is better?? But I'm bummed I also ordered a burrito was made with the meat all on one end and the other end cheese Would they serve a dish like this in person? Very unassuming. Don't let it scare you away. Been here a few times and it is always great. The service is quick and friendly, whether eat in or take out. As in most Mexican restaurants, they provide tortilla chips gratis, along with a couple of freshly made salsas. Everything we've had here, tacos, salads, tortas, Horchata, burritos, etc, all delicious. We much prefer the small family-like atmosphere here versus some of the other more mainstream places. I had a craving for tacos and this place was near by, so I decided to try it for a quick dinner. Driving in there was a good amount of parking but pretty small. Looks like they have some outdoor seating also. Walking in the restaurant looks like there are two entrances. The restaurant is small but comfortable. The entrance I walked into, I had to walk down to the counter to get a table. The host was nice and I was seated right away. They have many things on the menu but I wanted to try the Birria tacos. I ordered it and the waitress serve me chips and fresh salsa. The tacos came out pretty quickly and it was delicious. I love the fresh onions and cilantro. I also love dipping the tacos in the consomé. I was full with the tacos and chips that were served. I ordered tres Leche cake to go. The cake was not too sweet and delicious. I came here with a few coworkers yesterday and had a great experience. For starters, the servers quickly take food orders and bring drinks and chips so quickly. They definitely have the lunch momentum for everyone that has short lunch breaks. The chips salsa and smooth guacamole sauce are free and is amazing. One of the best salsas I've encountered. I also tried the caldo de rez with rice. I ordered a small and it was enormous. Wow what a random gem - we stopped for a quick bite along our way to Boston from NJ, and chose to come back on our way home. It was that good we didn't want anything else! Highly recommend the Caldo De Res (stew), it's hearty, delicious, and amazing value. I also recommend the quesadillas, tacos, and burritos! We also loved the Horchata, which is a perfect drink if you are eating something spicy! Service is friendly, and the space is clean and comfortable. Food was ok. Service was cold. The hostess was not welcoming and did not respond when spoken to. I came with my girlfriend for lunch. I had the hibiscus drink its sugar aide! No flavor. The food was HUGE portioned but need more seasons!! I went back a second time for the TRES LECHE!!! Oh my goodness!! It tastes like your aunty from the Bronx made it!! Soooo good!!! But again the service was cold!!! All three of us walked into the restaurant and there were no salutations!! Red flag when we walked up to the register still no smile no greeting NOTHING!! Went here with a friend that recommended it. We arrived at the perfect time. We were seated and our drink order was taken right away. We were not rushed to order and our waiter seemed to know exactly when to come back over. Right after we ordered the place began to fill up. We both ordered tacos. They arrived and were very tasty. Very small but good. Two bites and it was gone. We ordered more food. I ordered the quesadilla and my friend ordered more tacos. He got the tongue taco. I tried a piece of the meat, it was good. All things considered I will return here. I'll take my wife and knowing that the tacos are small, I will make sure I order at least 3 to start with. Sorry no pictures with this trip. read more

My wife and I have been unabashed fans of their Meriden location for many years so it should come as little surprise to anyone that we eventually found our way to this recently opened spinoff.  What proved to be a surprise was the unoccupied table we found on a busy Friday night. Our server arrived bearing gifts of taco chips and 3 types of salsa along with menus. My wife went bold by ordering a burrito with chicken while I followed the road to gluttony by choosing a trio of al pastor tacos along with an unneeded side of Spanish rice. The chicken burrito ended up being too much for the lovely senora so 1/2 was boxed up and served as "our" lunch the following day, that being a Saturday for those without calendars. It was deemed to be pretty good by the pretty senora while my almost untouched Spanish rice was found to be only fair. On the other hand, the one left of center, street tacos were pretty good, certainly not the best ever encountered, but far, yes far, better than 94.5% of all Mexican restaurants currently residing in the Nutmeg state. read more

Mixed review. My husband and I ordered 5 different tacos. He loved the shrimp tacos. He thought the pork belly and chicken asada tacos were bland. I thought the grilled chicken taco was pretty good but the carnitas taco was bland. They do have an assortment of sauces to help out but good tacos shouldn't have to rely on using a ton of sauces. I don't like that they didn't have any take out menus and that it's pretty hard to find a menu on line. The young woman at the register could have been more welcoming too. read more

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area, hands down. You can tell everything is made with love and all the salsas are super fresh and full of flavor... this is the place to come for authentic Mexican. I ordered barbacoa, beef cheek, and pastor for meats, and all were very tasty. Also, it's rare to find a restaurant nowadays where two people can have lunch for under $20, never mind anything even close to this quality. Service was very bad. the food was extremely bland and the server did not bring what I asked for. my friends and I all asked for water no refills were brought for us. they did not ask if we wanted refills on chips. I was genuinely on the verge of walking out without paying because I felt payment wasn't even deserved because they did NOTHING for us. my friends had to track down a completely different server and ask her for service because our server literally disappeared after she brought our chips and never came back. It was a clean establishment. I'm going to call the three beef tacos I had with "everything" as authentic. No processed meat here folks. They were literally slicing the slabs of beef in eye shot. I am so glad that Tacos Mi Nacho has expanded. We had some delicious Mexican food from there this weekend. Some of the items we ordered included fresh guacamole, a ceviche tostada, chorizo taco, birria taco, pork burrito, and rice and beans. Everything was excellent!! Needless to say, we were full afterwards. If you have room, I recommend their tres leches cake for dessert. Tacos Mi Nacho offers authentic food, served quickly. The service is friendly at this location, just like it is in Meriden. I can't wait to go back again soon and try some shrimp tacos. Stopped by here because it was open on a Monday and I'm glad we did. Felt like a diner vibe, only a few booths, which were clean. Waitstaff were very friendly and attended our table quickly. Super fresh food. I really enjoyed it. Definitely value added as well. The tacos were just a little over $2 each. Considering it's only marginally more expensive than a Taco Bell run, it but a definitely worth it. I ordered the Barbacoa tacos. They were definitely very good. Great new taco spot in town. Good street style tacos at a good price. Only thing to note is if you want Mexican style with onions and cilantro you need to ask for it, otherwise it will come Tex-mex style with lettuce and cheese.
