If it's taco night, we are likely stoping by Hashtag Tacos (#Tacos). My husband and I typically get takeout--you can order through their website, delivery apps or walk-in to order. The owners are so friendly and very helpful if you have menu questions. They prepare the food very quick too. The restaurant is small, but they have a handful of tables and booths if you want to eat in. Most of the items are sold separately ($3-6 each) so you can try a few things. They have tacos (obviously), burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, speciality dishes and they started serving breakfast. Our favorite is the Shrimp Taco. On our last visit we got four! Perfectly fried, crispy shrimp topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, avocado slice and served with lime. We also tried the Chicken Taco, Chicken Tostada, and Carne Asada Tostada. We don't live too far from Hashtag Tacos so our food was still warm. Everything was good and super fresh. They are generous with their taco toppings and filling. The tortillas are homemade and fluffy. The avocados were perfectly ripe. I like their verde salsa the best, but they have a unique, bright orange salsa that has a little kick. We hope to dine in at Hashtag Tacos very soon--if we think takeout is great, the food served hot and fresh at the restaurant has to be even better. read more

Ordered through Grubhub. They called and said they didn't have an item we ordered and offered alternatives. The order was done quickly and they sent free dessert. Now on to the food. Omg I'm totally making this place a regular thing. The burrito had to weigh close to a pound and was delicious. The torta, not kidding, was close to the size of my head. The beef cutlet was perfectly cooked. And the third dish molotes de queso were phenomenal. I can't wait to try more things off the menu. Excellent value too. read more

Great food and great wait staff. We came here on cinco de mayo and they were not too busy so the food came out in wonderful timing. The server was very friendly and we even took come delicious churros home. I'm not that big into churros, but these were so good I am stilling thinking about them. Went to this place recently, and man, was it worth it. It is in Wallingford, not necessarily in the main street where all the restaurants are, which was good. The place has several tables inside enough to sit maybe 20 to 25 people. Very authentic Mexican food. We had tortas (Mexican sandwich) which were HUGE. They were about $10 which was an amazing deal. I had the burrito, which was just a perfect combination of ingredients and the right amount of them in the burrito. Sometimes restaurants put too much stuff where you can't even eat that thing. We also had a kids quesadilla that came with rice and refried beans. For a kids meal it had a lot food. Staff was super friendly and I can't wait to stop by next time I'm in town. read more

Hashtag Tacos is a solid taco spot in Wallingford! Here's the scoop: This restaurant is located in a small strip mall with a couple other businesses. The parking lot is not very large, and is shared with the other businesses. I've gone on a Friday/Saturday night before when the lot was full. Luckily people are always in and out so I just waited in my car for a few minutes until a space opened up. The restaurant itself is fairly small. It's mostly a takeout restaurant, but there are a few tables inside where you can sit, as well as a couple table outside on the sidewalk. It's really nothing too fancy. I've been several times, and this most recent time I ordered the chips and guacamole (mild) for an appetizer, and then two fish tacos for dinner. The guacamole was EXCELLENT. Super fresh and tasted so good! The fish tacos were also excellent. The fried fish was very crispy. The tacos come with pico de gallo, lettuce, and an avocado slice (I usually skip the avocado slice) and are ordered individually. My only criticism would be the service the last time I went... while the staff seemed very nice, after the waitress served my food she didn't come back to check on my table (even though I was the only table in the place) and didn't come back at all after dropping my food. I actually had to go up to the counter and ask to pay. It could have been that she was just busy doing other things (but again, I was the only table in the place). This place was absolutely amazing. The tacos were fresh, perfectly sized for street tacos. The salsas for them (red and green) were perfectly spiced. The red was not overly hot and had just enough kick to it. Carne asada, shrimp and Carnita tacos were cooked and seasoned perfectly. And the flan and churros were unbelievably delicious. I am not a huge flan fan but this was truly cooked to perfection. And the churros were not oily but also fried just right with a very tasty caramel sauce. The carne asada tacos were my favorite of the three but I will be back to try the different varieties they have as well as the dishes. The people I spoke to were nice, though not terribly knowledgeable about the vegan friendliness of the food, to their credit, they did double check with the kitchen before confirming everything after I pushed them a bit. The sauces were fine but the dishes themselves had no salt whatsoever. Fries = no salt, chips = no salt, guac = well, you get the idea. The rice was also overcooked and not very well seasoned. My friends also did not enjoy their tacos or any of their other dishes, and they threw it away. I was sad because I had suggested it as a hail mary vegan friendly compromise, but it was not worth it, at all. I do not recommend. read more

We have not eaten there, but have had take out just-about weekly since a few months into quarantine. My family all love everything on the menu we have tried, and that's a lot of love! The fresh tortillas are wonderful. Fajitas come with the take-out container nearly overflowing. When I get fajitas, one order is easily two-to-three meals. (I ask for extra tortillas) One of my favourite things to eat ever is fish tacos, and they are fabulous. I could eat them every day. Their guacamole is chunky and dreamy. Only one suggestion: refried beans are not vegetarian friendly. I eat fish, obviously, but I don't eat refried beans that are made with lard. Black beans are vegetarian, and a good option, but please make some vegetarian refried beans Ohhhh, can we talk about the flan? Trust me. You want to order the flan. Visited today for the first time. I got the taco salad (a recommmendation from my mom who was here for the second day in a row) and she got the chicken tacos. Everything was great - well seasoned and flavorful. The taco shell for the salad was not greasy! The hot sauces added the right amount of spice. Delicious tacos and quesadillas. We got the lengua, al pastor, and carne asada tacos and a steak quesadilla. All of the meat was tender, juicy, and tasty. I rate the al pastor 8/10, carne asada 7/10, and the lengua 10/10! Not quite California taco truck level, but the some of the best I've had in the area. The quesadilla was to die for, so savory with lots of cheese and meat. Prices are acceptable $2.50-3 per taco. $8 per quesadilla. We walked in to order take-out and happily waited about 15 minutes for our food so everything was very fresh. They were out of beans and rice, but that didn't impact our order at all and was probably because we went pretty close to closing time. Ok. So I figured I would give them another chance since my husband was craving tacos. Not a good idea... they didn't have the guacamole that we ordered because they "don't have avocados," so everything that we ordered that was supposed to have fresh avocado, did not. Secondly, I asked for no cilantro on the items that my husband ordered... needless to say... covered in cilantro, and I have to say, everything is bland and tasteless, anything with corn tacos were awful. The tortillas were tough, very dry and tasted old with an overpowering bitter flavor (which in essence was the only flavor) . This said, I'm inclined to downgrade to one star. This little place is a true Yale's I'll hidden gem. I ate in, there once, before pandemic and now Take-out. Omg both times so good. There tacos are fresh tasting and unique. Today I got the chili's rellenos delivered. So delicious. Chili rellenos is my favorite dish in Mexican cuisine, I've ordered it in many different restaurants both in state and out of state.
