    Birria tacos
    Kim U.

Been wanting to try this place myself. My kids have eaten their food many times and love it! Tonight I tried the Birria tacos and the Carne Asada tacos. Both were very good. Nicely flavored and the accompanying green sauce was very good too! Def will order from there again. We did an order pickup but the staff was very nice n the phone and in person. Recommend you check them out!

I frequently cover tacos in my Food Blog, and one day, one of the friends of the Blog said, you shouldn't be going to X, you should be going to Don Taco. Since I am one of the more trusting people when it comes to Food Recs, I vowed to visit. And I did visit earlier this year. I'm glad I did. Don Taco is up there with Hartford County's best. I arrived early on a Sunday. In fact, a bit before they were even open because I didn't notice that they open later on Sundays. In any event, they were nice enough to serve me and I got a chance to visit with one of the owners, whose name I forget, but he was very nice and he shared a lot about their business and his background. The taqueria serves a number of different things. I was there for tacos. They had a cool hidden condiment bar, which I loved. The restaurant is small, but there is some seating. I ordered a shrimp taco, pastor taco and carne asada taco. Each was great. The shrimp was tender to the bite. The meats had great texture and flavor. I liked that the tacos didn't all have the same filling. The pastor had huge pineapple chunks in addition to cilantro and onions. The shrimp had some type of alt crunchy slaw. Jicama maybe? The carne asada was more traditional with chopped onions and cilantro. The salsas were very tasty. All first rate. They also made fresh chips for me. Love Don Taco. I'm due for a return visit. If you haven't been, you should go. 5 Stars

Tried a new place for National Taco day on taco Tuesday. The birria tacos were outstanding. The empanada was different from what I'm use to but also very good. Churros are crunchy sweet and yummy dipped in caramel sauce. Great customer service. Very nice people. I will be back.

Amazing food and prices. Such a hike in the wall and the staff is so friendly. Great service. And the take out is just as good as eating in.

They redecorated the place so beautifully and the menu is spectacular! The service is also phenomenal! Manny was our server and he was kind and attentive. Pedro the owner came around multiple times to chat sand ask us how things were. We immediately felt at home and very welcome! The drinks were great and I do recommend ordering a large when getting a margarita. We ordered the queso and it was delicious! The chips and salsa are endless and full of flavor. My daughter ordered the taco salad and said it was the best she ever had. I ordered the tropical salad with grilled chicken and it was amazing. My husband ordered the tacos and he loved them and it came with scrumptious rice and beans. We also had their tres leches cake which was the. best I ever had. Manny informed me that they also have Oreo tres leches cake (mind blown!!!) My family and I will definitely be regulars here!!

And if something was delayed a little he made sure to inform us so we wouldn't be upset with the waiting. There was a large party that a group of servers were taking care of so Ray went to all his tables to let them know. He made sure everyone was happy. Ray I give you 10 stars for being awesome. The food was ok, not as good and authentic as I remember. The tacos felt like boiled meat with sauce instead of grilled. Very little seasoning in the street corn. Things like that but overall we had a good experience.

(as the kids say) It was crowded despite being early evening. The only available seats were at the bar area near the windows, which was fine because we were determined to experience the "new" place. We ordered the tuna tartare and lobstah rolls. The accompanying chips are homemade (slightly salty, but my taste buds are really close together). The host was attentive and gave us the royal treatment. We put this gem back on rotation and we are definitely returning!!!

The textured walls are gorgeous and give the space a style it was definitely missing before. As usual, the happy hour menu never disappoints. The Pomjito is a personal favorite.. refreshing, light, and not too sweet. We also got the oysters and mussels, both solid. The mussel sauce was unique compared to a typical tomato base, which we really appreciated. For my entrée, though, I was disappointed to see that the tuna salad I always order had completely changed. It used to be an arugula salad with Asian flavors and the tuna served on top. Now it It's a Niçoise salad, and the tuna is awkwardly placed on the side. Nothing about the tuna tasted like it did before. I'm usually a sucker for ahi tuna, but this was honestly one of the most disappointing ahi dishes I've ever had. It felt totally incohesive with the salad next to it. I really wish they didn't change the menu so frequently. Once I finally find an entrée I genuinely look forward to, it disappears. That said, we'll still be back for the great happy hour food and solid drinks. Now it's just a matter of finding a menu item I like... and hoping they keep it.
