Desayuno Arandas - chilaquiles with green sauce and chicken breast. The eggs are an add on.
    Suzan R.

I just had the most exceptional chilaquiles, with chicken, and two over easy eggs with refried beans. I may never have breakfast anywhere else again. This is Desayuno Arandas con pechuga de pollo y salsa verde - Arandas breakfast with chicken breast and green sauce. Also available with red sauce and/or fajita steak. The eggs are an add on and how I have always eaten chilaquiles. This makes for a ton of food and I eagerly look forward to eating the leftovers the next day because they are nearly as good as fresh made. Only want chilaquiles? That's a menu item, too, and comes with a side of refried beans. What are chilaquiles? Hand cut tortilla chips lightly fried and then sautéed in either red or green sauce topped with cheese and crema (sour cream). When made correctly, they are divine. At Taqueria Arandas they are divine.

    #6 Enchiladas Plate

Ate here while in town on the recommendation of Jeremy Pena. Well, really because he heavily advertises for them during Astros games. With locations around the Houston area, this is the lone outfit here in north Texas. From the outside it looks like just what it is - a Mexican restaurant with what appears to be a largely Hispanic clientele. The lavish menu in Spanish with English translations almost an afterthought. There is casual seating and Telemundo on various screens. It also appears to have a well stocked bar and outdoor seating. Prices were reasonable. Service was friendly, efficient, and non obtrusive. At one pm on a Thursday the place was not busy but also not empty. My friend and I decided to each try the #6 enchilada plate. She got the chicken with verde sauce. I got the beef with red sauce. Both came with generous portions of rice and retried beans. The beans were on the wet side and very tasty. The rice was also good though a bit subdued. A small green salad graced each plat as well as three enchiladas covered with cheese. Her chicken was well seasoned. My beef was also good - small chunks of diced beef. The meal also came with the usual chips and salsas. The red salsa was tasty and garlicky. A green sauce came in a yellow squeeze bottle with a kick that lingered. Yum. The iced tea came in a glass big enough to share. But I don't. Taqueria Arandas is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. My only regret is that it's just too far from home to patronize regularly. But if they ever open an East Dallas location I'll be there regularly. Well done Taqueria Arandas, well done. And thanks, Jeremy. Go Str

Just so we get this out up front: I LOVE TAQUERIA ARANDAS!! I have been to I don't know how many outposts of this Houston chain, but the fam knows we will eat there once on each trip to Houstopolis. I had thought that my closest TaqA was in Waco - WRONG!!! I tripped over this one in Irving today - I had no idea this was here!! So - whats's for lunch? Yeah, duh. We started with the house-made fresh chips and uncooked salsa - those chips are like crack. One you start, you can't stop. Salsa is always delicious and made fresh daily. I got the new Alambres Norteno, a mix of ham, carne asada, puerco al pastor, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and melted white cheese, served with flour or corn (get corn) tortillas, pico de gallo and fresh guacamole- MUY DELICIOSO!! Yanquis may want to watch out for the pico - they use Serrano chiles, not jalapeños, so the pico may be A LOT hotter than you expect. My husband got the Torta de Pollo Guisado, which was a soft bollillo stuffed with a lot of tender stewed chicken, topped with sliced avocado and sour cream. He loved it! This place is gonna be happening for the World Cup, and is also Cowboys Football obsessed. Unlike any other TaqA I have been in, this one has a separate full bar and outdoor all seating as well. Bring your friends on game day! :) The building is hard-used, but the bathrooms are clean and updated, plus the food is as delicious as I remember. Service is fast and friendly, food impeccably fresh. 5 I'll see you at Taqueria Arandas IN! NORTH! TEXAS!!!! Stars

The food was good but smaller than advertised. The queso was cold upon arrival to our table. The margaritas were good as well. Would I dine here again? No, but that's my personal preference.

I'm from Southern CA and have lived in TX for about 5 years now. I have traveled to AZ, NM, the southest borders you can think of in the US. This is by far, THE BEST tacos I have ever had in my life. No overexaggeration, the meat is so tender and flavorful...nothing I have ever had or can compare to. All 3 dishes were 5/5 with compliments to the staff for their attentive and hospitable service; hats off y'all. That being said, I have found my new taqueria where I am going to take all my out of town friends and rave about this to everyone that craves Mexican food. Thank you, you just gained a loyal customer.

One of my friend recommended this place for our group meet up. Service is friendly and fast, but the place is not the cleanest place. 5 TAQUITOS- corn tortillas with your choice of meat (beef and pork) served with grilled onion, grilled jalapeño, and charro beans The tacos tasted great and flavorful. The flavors are on point. It tasted simple, but authentic. I really liked the grilled onions because it added some sweetness and the jalapeños added a little heat. I'm usually not the biggest fan of beans, but the charro beans were savory. ENCHILADAS- three green enchiladas, cheese, and chicken served with rice and refried beans These were some flavorful enchiladas and they carried a nice creamy heat to them. The rice was cooked perfectly and added some texture to the savory beans. The chicken was a bit chewy, but the sauce added some great creamy flavor. The food was great and I promised to come back, but I gave 3 stars because after that meal, all my friends had stomachaches and the end result was not pretty. This was the only meal that we shared together so we ruled this as the reason why we felt ill. Perhaps it was an unclean day, but I don't hold a grudge because the food was still great and other reviews don't seem to have the same issue. I'll come back, but if I get sick again I won't be returning.

Veggies and beans. water no lemon

Horrible service to start with, I only go with my family because it's just been tradition to come here after mass every Sunday. I used to enjoy it as a kid because of the limited taste I had but as an adult now I see it's pretty bland. They always seem to mess up my order, if I ask to leave items out like beans or the veggies they don't take them off the platter. I ask for a water with lemon like I see other people do around me and I don't get my lemon. Small details like that just get on my nerves a bit. The servers always seem so rushed which I understand if they are understaffed, but I work in service and it doesn't take much to make the guests feel a little welcome and cared for. Lots of room for improvement all around.

If you like authentic tacos and quesadillas this is the place for you. I typically get a fajita steak quesadilla or fajita steak tacos with corn tortillas and cilantro and onion, squeeze a lime on it and add the green sauce you're in taco heaven. This is an authentic place so they speak little English but it's never been a major issue for me. I have tried the diabla shrimp and I wasn't a fan but on the menu it's one of their best sellers. I've also had camarones de plancha and it's basically shrimp fajitas because they bring you tortillas to eat with it. No matter what you get, if you like spicy food, put the green sauce on it. It makes everything taste better. They have speedy service and the food comes out quick. I took away one star because it's not as good as the ones in Houston.

Always get the crispy beef tacos. Love it's simplicity and don't forget the green sauce people. :-)

My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Yolk - Las Colinas is located in a new area in Irving-Las Colinas with plenty of parking. Inside it's open with plenty of seating (some outdoors too), has Yolk's bright blue and yellow colors, but my favorite features are the big windows which let in the the sun's natural light. 1 Star. Service - Our server was great. She was very attentive and made sure we always had our mugs filled with coffee. I appreciated the friendly service that was all smiles. 1 Star. Food - Yolk's menu has classic breakfast and brunch options but be sure you check to table for coffee specials. I ordered an Iced Apple Pie Latte that was served in a glass mason jar. This small detail allowed the Apple flavor to start my breakfast on a high note. Speaking of which, my Breakfast Mac & Cheese caught my attention when it was served in a skillet. I intended to only eat half, but the smokey ham paired with the creamy mac & cheese under a light panko layer was too delicious for me to stop. The prices are a bit on the high side, but otherwise a geat meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. DFW is getting many great breakfast/brunch spots like Yolk. If you're a big fan of breakfast (and travelling on expense), it's a great way to start your day. 1 Star.

Young, high-energy staff and everybody was friendly. I had an adorable little waitress who was possibly high as a kite. But flower high, not the bad stuff. Honestly, it worked in everybody's favor. She was upbeat, extremely polite, and got my order right. I'm happy. The menu is one of those long double-sided laminated things with probably 50+ breakfast choices. Everybody should be able to find something. Prices looked to range around $10-17 per entrée, and the portions were solid. They also had a bunch of turkey and chicken sausage options for non-pork eaters like myself. I ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns, scrambled cheese eggs with onions mixed into the eggs and hash browns, plus two pancakes. Around $15. Pardon the food pics. I forgot to take them until I had already loaded everything up with every sauce known to man: ketchup, hot sauce, gravy, syrup... probably a few others. I definitely recommend this place. A gem.

We shared the Whiskey Cake with praline ice cream, and let's just say, it lives up to the name. Decadent, rich, and absolutely worth it. Service was really good. Attentive without hovering, and thoughtful in those small ways that stand out. At one point, our server split the Old Fashioned for us without us even asking. That kind of anticipation earns points.
