Went here after playing volleyball Friday afternoon. They weren't busy so it was fast getting us in. The menu is a little bit pricey but the food was great! Chips and salsa were okay but the bacon jalapeño carne asada tacos were amazing. Only two tacos but they were chuck full of ingredients. I paid extra for rice and beans. The waitress suggested those tacos and I'm glad I gave it a try. They were not too spicy even though they had jalapeños. I did use a coupon they mailed out last month so that was nice. The look of this place is very clean and modern looking. The server was very kind, attentive, and knew the menu very well. We heard a rumor that Taqueria 27 was open a day early for a soft opening and we were so excited we headed straight there. It was busy but not crazy. Wait times were reasonable and the staff were jamming to get everyone seated and fed. Everyone was so nice! The tacos were amazing. I had the carnitas and my husband had the carne asada and pork belly. Totally delicious. I loved the pickled onion on mine and I tasted some of the pork belly and it was flavorful and crispy. I'm coming back to try the duck tacos! This was my first time ever coming to one of their locations and it won't be the last. They have a huge, gorgeous patio that I can't wait to come utilize next summer when it's warm at night again. There were some brave souls sitting out there but it's too chilly for me. The food is very yummy, but skip the queso. We got the Santa Fe style shrimp enchiladas and jalapeno popper tacos and WOW! They were swoon worthy. Honestly, this was as big "miss" for me. I judge every Mexican restaurant by three things: taste, quantity, and value. I got the chile verde enchiladas and I was very disappointed. The sauce was bland and watery. It lacked a whole lot of, well, anything. The pork was little bits of diced meat tossed in with the cheese. This was the second worst chile verde I in think I have ever tried. And the plate was $18! My wife's fajitas came out over cooked, but still miles ahead of my Chile "verde" which should be called "Chile Transparent" instead. The other disappointment was the portion size. I'm a big eater and of you are too, then skip T27. For what I paid, I could have gotten a nice to steak elsewhere. The prices we're steep. The home made tortillas were good and the service was too. This is for the Eagle Mountain location, just ate there for lunch and I'm not sure why we go back. We prefer the location on Lehi so much more than this one but this one is closer but for sure will be our last time. I went my 90 year old in-laws for lunch and there was only one table of people eating so my FIL walked my MIL to a booth without waiting to be seated as she has a difficult time walking. Had the restaurant had more than one table seated for sure he would have waited. The waitress proceeds to come over with an attitude telling them they can't just sit down and they needed to be seated in certain zones. Again we totally understand but there was no need for the attitude, THEY ARE 90! Like come on have some grace towards the elderly. Just come over and say it nicely and they would have totally understood. And zones...there was only one other table at the time we came in. Her whole attitude was stand offish the whole visit. Maybe you would have more people in your restaurant if you were nicer, just a suggestion. The food is just subpar anyway no loss on not coming back. I really loved the carnitas tacos! The tortillas were soft and not delicious. I loved being able to sit outside on the patio and the flowers they had everywhere. I am so excited to know that there's a Taqueria 27 this close to my house! This evening we had the nacho fries with carne asada, the Carne Asada enchiladas and a carnitas burrito. Everything tasted great. The highlight was definitely the nacho fries. Taco Bell can't ever get on this level of deliciousness. They were hot and they were real potatoes. YUM! The carnitas burrito with enchilada sauce was delicious. They also have really good dessert! We had the strawberry cheesecake which was very good! Not too sweet, and the right amount of chocolate flavor. We did suggest more strawberry flavor to really stand out but it was still an impressive piece of cheesecake. The waitress was very nice and she suggested a bomb appetizer. Overall we will be back. It's nice and quiet compared to the Lehi location. Also just a disclaimer if you want authentic Mexican food this isn't your place this is Nuevo Tex Mex which I think they nail every time! First I would start off by saying our server was lovely! We did come in New Year's Eve in which they were closing soon although the hours were different on their website. We were told we had 20 minutes to put our order in before it was too late (mind you we just moved and have never been to this restaurant before). We ordered margaritas which gave us high hopes as to how the food would be. We were let down shortly after when my carne asada tacos came out cold and uncooked. As you can tell the cheese was clearly old and had been sitting out and not pictured the rice and beans were small portions for what you're paying. We were very excited that this place was opening as they have so many gluten free options. For the most part it was a good experience for us. First the good. The PBLTA (pork belly) tacos were excellent. I wish the rice and beans that came on the side were a little bit bigger to add some filler but the flavor was very good. The Shrimp enchilada was excellent with great flavors. I would definitely order again. Very creative flavors for both entrees we ordered. Now for the bad. We ordered chips and salsa and I was only impressed with 1 of the 3 salsas we tried. The 2 medium salsas were so spicy that I really couldn't eat much of them. The chips were absolutely terrible. They had so much salt on them that they were inedible. I was taking time rub salt off the chips before each dip in the salsa. The chips were also extremely tough and thick. I honestly think they would do better going and purchasing chips at the local grocery store than making their own. I won't pay for the chips and salsa here again. Our server was very attentive and tried her best to address our concerns about the chips although I did have to ask for a water refill after dealing with the very spicy salsas. We will be back both for the Gluten free options and the excellent quality of the entrees. read more

We were super excited to have something close. Ordered delivery. Order was messed up, lacking items and sure wasn't worth what we paid. We felt like the portions were super small. Tacos had very little meat and they forgot to put anything else on one order- Just 4 measly thumbnail sized pieces of dry meat. No cheese, vegetables or anything listed on the menu. Admittedly, I am a New Mexico girl and biased but this was mild even by Utah standards. It might have been better with all the ingredients added but then again, they did send their version of Chile Verde sauce. It was flavorless and canned at best. No meat or chunks of green chile , just green flavorless sauce. They should call it green sauce because it's NOT chile verde. The street corn appetizer was nothing more than very very watery frozen corn and seemed to be lacking the stated queso and other toppings but with all the water , it was hard to tell. Disappointed as we LOVE street corn. Serving size on takeout was about a half a cup once all the water was drained..... for over 8 bucks. Overall, I cannot recommend. read more

I honestly didn't know what to expect, and since I am not fond of Mexican food, and I can't handle anything spicy, I had my doubts about whether I'd like anything there. I was pleasantly surprised! We ordered the nachos as an appetizer, and they were delicious! The waitress informed me they used a blend of melted white cheeses, instead of using horrible canned fake cheese. The nachos had refried beans, jalapeños and came with a side of dipping sauce that was extremely flavorful but not spicy. I also ordered the carne asada tacos, which were equally delicious. The meat looked and tasted like it was marinated and it was incredibly soft, and their tortillas (which looked and tasted homemade), were perfect! Normally, I add lime or mayo to my tacos, but these were so yummy that I didn't need any other toppings! Highly recommend Taqueria 27 in Eagle Mountain. read more
