Tapsilog Express was one of my go to spots when living in East Bay. Whenever I got that craving for authentic tapsilog, this was the shit. With so many selections, not just your average lumpia or Ticino, it is truly a gem. I loved getting the adobo-silog, tosilog, and of course, tapsilog. It is also incredibly affordable which is such a breath of fresh air when you think about how some other tapsilog places in the bay can run you up to $13.. so definitely worth the price. Mom asked if can pick up halo halo cause when she stopped by earlier this morning it wasn't open yet. Ordered 2 halo halo, tapsilog and bangsilog and total came out to $28.43 before tip. Cant find a place that still has silogs after 1pm. This is the place to get it. Also their halo halo has two scoops of ice creams and all the fixings. Compared to other places they skimp out on the beans. The Bangus for my bangsilog was the perfect serving. Not too much and not to little. The tapa for the tapsilog was sweeter than I expected but I did ask for extra vinegar and they gave me more than enough and it complement the tapsilog perfectly. My first time at this location, although I haven't been to the foothill location in a couple years. We ordered bangsilog, tocilog and liempsilog. Liempo was the best of the three. Yummy bbq pork belly. Tocino was good. It was the dryer type of tocino. Bangus was ok. Freshly fried, but not marinated. You get a whole bangus fish with the bangsilog. Tocino snd liempo has generous portions. The rice was alright... lacked the garlic flavor and I needed to add salt and pepper. I'm not one to usually add salt. I wouldn't recommend getting the longsilog as it only comes with 2 pieces of longanisa. Tapsilog Express is the latest addition to the growing Filipino food scene in San Leandro. Although higher in price than the Hayward location, they also have more tables if you decide to eat in vs. take out. Either way, with all silogs that comes with a scoop of garlic rice and an egg running between $6.50-$7 (at this time), that is where the value is at. Sides and desserts tend to run on the higher side though but would still recommend getting the lumpia but skipping the Halo Halo. Adsilog with pork adobo was tender and flavorful and probably my favorite at this time. The bangsilog (fried milk fish), crisp on the outside but still soft on the inside comes in second while the bagnetsilog (fried pork belly) was too dry for someone who is use to meaty and moist lechon. Overall, glad that there is a fast food place close by to grab a plate but may not be the best option if you are looking for less fried options. read more

I ordered the Bagnet Silog Meal and the 12 Piece Lumpia dish. I paid by Credit Card and was given my Receipt and Order Number. Tapsilog occupies the Former Union Fish and Chips Location . They did a great job of Cleaning up and Brighting up the place . There are Plenty of Tables to sit at . While I was waiting for my food I noticed that a lot of the Business is To- Go. My order was ready to Pick Up at the Front Counter after 10 minutes . Everything was freshly cooked with Fresh Ingredient's . I rolled back to my Table and applied a few of the Sauces on the Table to my food and Dug in . Good Flavors and Good Portions . Décor is Sparse and Utilitarian . It would be nice if they added some LCD TVs for entertainment . The Prices in the San Leandro Store seem Higher then the Hayward Location . Ill be back . I've been to the Hayward location, and you can tell that one has been thru a lot. This one looks nice, fresh, and clean. Plenty of tables and seating for dine in customers. I wouldn't mind dining in at this location. It probably seats at least 30 people. Service is okay. There wasn't anyone in there when my boyfriend and I went. They seemed to be working on phone orders. Deciding what to eat is always the difficult part because I WANT IT ALL!! One thing that I must have is the sweet pork, so I usually get the tosilog. It comes with the sweet pork, scoop of garlic rice, and topped off with a fried egg. I sometimes add a milkfish, but there were a few times that it was kinda dry, so it depends on my mood. My boyfriend likes the grilled pork belly and grilled chicken, so he gets that combo. He sometimes gets an extra scoop of garlic rice because 1 is not enough for all that meat. Ohhh! Don't forget to get dessert! Although it's a tad in the small side, there is just something so delicious about the halo halo. SOO GOOD, I need one NOW! 5/17/2019 I decided to give them another try since I am in the area. I was so turned off by the terrible customer service I received. The hours of business states that they open at 10:00am, I attempted to open the door a little past opening, it was still locked, that is fine, I understand there are opening duties to be completed, no big deal. When my party of 3 finally got in, we weren't greeted. We tried to greet the young lady at the register so we can order. "Hello"... no response "Good Morning"... still no response She clearly heard every word but did not acknowledge us. She stared at us and looked back down . She seemed as though she was in a bit of a bad mood. This is poor customer service. You are the face of the restaurant. Your job is to greet guests with a positive upbeat attitude. You are in charge of all the sales that walk through that door. Your negative attitude turned customers away and have no interest in returning. This is bad for business. Luckily Seafood Market just opened up with better options and excellent customer service. Sorry Tapsilog Express, I suggest coaching your front staff about the importance of customer service.
