We went here for lunch and found that this place had a very casual ambiance. There were some circular side tables we sat at but the longer tables were smaller wooden or even foldable tables covered in the classic picnic style covers. A lady came to take our order and it all came out pretty fast. The lumpia came out first, and it was fresh off the stove. The bangsilog was basically like the ones i've had back home, but the portion seems to be smaller since bangus is usually rounder and wider in body - the one they served was a narrower fish. Stopped by on a whim today and it was nice and cool inside. There wasnt many people and the music was at a nice volume. We were greeted when we came in and asked to sit where ever. We were brought waters promptly and played the game provided at the table while we waited for our meals which I thought was super fun. The first plate was a 2 meat combo lechón, bistek and garlic rice. The lechón was crispy but lacked the saltiness I love in a lechón, it was still delicious. The bistek was by far the best part it was juicy and tender and I loved the caramelized onions. The second plate we got was another combo plate lechón and pork adobo. First time trying this place, located in a spacious lot with a ton of other stores. This place was busy on a Saturday lunch, but luckily we were seated right away. There was 3 large parties that took up a majority of the restaurant, they had smaller seats close to the window and outdoor seating ~3 tables. They don't do the large outdoor dining on the parking lot like some previous pictures. I think that might have been a Covid thing only. They have a large menu, we decided to get the silog and sisig fries. We tried some drinks too, I got the lychee sangria. A TOUCH OF FLAIR How do you make home-cook food interesting at a restaurant? There needs to be a pizzaz that makes you spend money. I've eaten at Tapsilog Bistro five times in a span of four months. Each time I've eaten here I had unexpected, pleasant experiences. The first time I came here was in February on a Friday. I read articles about the crispy pata at Tapsilog Bistro. I ordered a crispy pata silog for lunch. The skin of the crispy pata is always going to be the initial reaction that determines if the dish going to be good or bad. I've eaten at other Filipino eateries where not only was the skin rubbery, but also the meat of the crispy pata was dry. At Tapsilog Bistro the skin of the crispy pata was crispy with the meat slightly moist. I ordered the ube float, which was lighter than a traditional milkshake. The second time I came here was the following day. This I ordered the pork chop silog. From other pictures I thought I was getting a breaded, deep-fried pork chop similar to tonkatsu, but the dish was still delicious and most of all moist. During this visit I got a pakag ng manok, which is tapsilog-style chicken wings. The chicken wings were ok nothing spectacular. The third time I came here was in March. This time I went out of my way to order two non-Filipino items: gourmet burrito (longanisa and steam rice) and sisig tater tots. For the gourmet burrito the steamed rice didn't add any flavor to the burrito. I should've ordered the garlic rice instead. I'm a sucker for tater tots. The portion of the sisig tater was similar to nachos and itself could be a meal. The fourth time I came here was in May. This time I ordered Filipino items with a little flair. I ordered pig ears sisig and lechon kawili kare-kare. The pig ears sisig provided a different texture than other sisigs I ate as there was a crunch. Even though the pig ears weren't chewy I wish they were crispier. The lechon kawali kare-kare was a twist I enjoyed eating as I've only eating kare-kare with oxtail and tripe. I was worried that the skin of the lechon kawali in the kare-kare would be soggy, but it wasn't. The lechon kawali kare-kare was a hearty dish that was filling. The fifth time I came here was brunch on Father's Day. I initially planned to order 2-item silog plate of tapsilog and lechon kawali. Even though I had the lechon kawaIi kare-kare from my previous visit I ordered the lechon kawali to taste the levels of the skin, fat, and meat. I decided to get 1-item silog plate of tapsilog and a la carte order of lechon kawali. Ordering this way cost more, but from my experience when you order a 2-item meat plate you don't get as much meat. The tapislog I've ordered in the past the meat was too jerky, but the tapsilog I ordered from Tapsilog Bistro was moist. The glistening of the tapsilog was similar to tocino. The skin on the lechon kawali wasn't crispy yet wasn't rubbery. I finished eating the tapsilog, but not the a la carte order of lechon kawali. I ended up taking the lechon kawali home. (Here's a tip if you put lechon kawali in an air fryer the skin becomes crispy.) I can say I enjoyed the meals I ate at Tapsilog Bistro because I came here five times. The traditional dishes I ordered weren't fancy but modern. There were some dishes that were filling, but not heavy. One of the criticisms of Filipino food and rightfully so is that the food can be too heavy it makes you bloated. Since the food at Tapsilog Bistro aren't heavy you can come here multiple times to eat to enjoy without feeling queasy. read more

Plus, it was $70 for four items! *The Pancit was very tasteless. *The Chicken Skewers were not cooked all the way through. I don't know much about filipino cuisine, but I know a solid comfort food spot when I taste it and as far as I can tell this place has it in spades. Plenty of outdoor seating for when things get toasty and some nicely seasoned food (and some nice mimosas). I'd definitely be happy coming back here when the occasion arises. Parking was pretty straightforward as the lot is quite spacious for the stores there (it's right next to a salon but that's really it). They've converted the spaces in front of the store into an outdoor section. I will note they didn't have condiments outdoors even though service was pretty much the same otherwise. Water was self-serve (at least it was when we got there), but I did notice they started bringing out carafes of water later so it seems like they shifted mid-service. Food came out pretty quick after we ordered, and they nicely accommodated them running out of orange juice by swapping in Calamansi juice for the POG mimosa. The tapsilog was pretty glorious and the spread of well-seasoned beef, over-easy egg, garlic rice, and cucumbers very nicely melded together. The beef did get much tougher after it cooled down though, so I'd eat it fast (this'd probably be less of an issue once things hit the spring/summer). The burrito was a nice alternative presentation of similar base ingredients, but the addition of the lumpia (spring rolls) was a flavorful touch; that said, I would have personally preferred the salsa/guac/sour cream to be inside the burrito than on the side. I will definitely be back for more mounds of garlic rice. :D read more
