This place has all their silogs served with pork so if you don't eat much pork, try a different place. Food wasn't all great. This is my second time here and I don't remember it being this bad. Their taho is watered down. I'm assuming whoever made this just didn't know how it's supposed to be served. Service was good.
I came into town looking for something local, fresh, and delicious. I was recommended to come to Tapsilog Cantina and loved it so much I came back again! The owner Ed came and served all the dishes. He is so friendly, welcoming, and cares deeply about his customers. You can tell he's so passionate about the food and the overall experience! The build-your-own silog is pretty amazing and the choices are robust! I went for bangus, sisig, and lechon kawali. Everything was cooked to perfection! Reminded me of home cooked meals in the Philippines. I ordered Taho for dessert and Ed even came out with the cup with the traditional "TAHO!!" greeting you would hear on the streets of the Philippines! 10/10 experience points! On my SECOND visit, I ordered the Spinach Laing and my friend ordered the Bicol Express. When I tell you this tastes of home, I'm not exaggerating! Ed and his team make EVERY dish fresh and to order--and you can tell! Everything comes out hot and tasting amazing! We loved sitting outside during the cooler San Jose weather right now, but the inside was just as welcoming. He even has a small shelf where you can purchase your favorite Filipino cooking staples. I cannot recommend Tapsilog Cantina enough! You will feel at home and leave with a very satisfied appetite eager for the next opportunity to return!
My friends and I have been to Tapsilog Cantina a few times and it is a pretty solid Filipino spot. They're a small mom-and-pop restaurant - although they did use AI for their menu (bleh), their previous menu was very... uh. You could tell they had used a word document. I've attached a pic of their old menu (Feb 2026) and the new menu is a bit of an improvement. The important thing is to sort of ignore all the AI-generated images and trust that they will feed you well. Friends have been going here or to their other location for years and it's been delicious! Good portion sizes, in my opinion. They were a lot busier than last time we were here, because of the World Cup finals - so service was a little slower. We did not get the included soup but we were vibing with the unlimited mimosas and didn't mind (otherwise we would have asked). The unlimited mimosas were a good deal - they ask you which juices you'd like and drop it off at your table, and the champagne is self-serve - we went through 2-3 bottles I think! Shanghai lumpias were delicious and piping hot and my friends enjoyed their loco mocos. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak and those two pieces were crispy and perfectly to my tastes!! We've also enjoyed their silog plates in the past and they were delicious, although the only criticism is that I can't tell that there's garlic in the garlic rice. I definitely recommend Tapsilog Cantina and it's one of our go-to brunches in the area!
This is a perfect place if you want some authentic Filipino food. Service was good! It's hard to say no when halo-halo is recommended to you. It's even harder to eat it when you also have some dinoguan in front of you too!
We came across this silog spot in San Jose and were excited to try it since there aren't many Filipino restaurants near where we live. Usually we have to drive out to Concord or Union City for Filipino food, so we had high hopes for this place. They have a pretty extensive menu beyond just silog plates. You can choose a 1-3 meat combo that comes with rice and an egg. We ordered the 2-meat combo with pork tocino and longanisa, plus a tocino burrito. There's limited indoor seating (I think only about two tables) and additional outdoor seating with umbrellas. If you're dining in, just grab a table and they'll come take your order. For takeout, you order at the register. The presentation when the food came out was nice, and the service was friendly, which we appreciated. The longanisa was actually pretty good, and the tocino was decent. Unfortunately, the biggest letdown was the rice -- which is kind of the heart of a silog meal. We ordered garlic fried rice, but it was extremely bland and lacked flavor completely. Honestly, plain homemade steamed rice has more flavor. Since the rice makes up such a big part of the dishes, it affected the entire meal, including the tocino burrito, which ended up being disappointing too. Really wanted to love this place, but overall it just didn't hit the mark flavor-wise for us.

They have indoor and outdoor seating which is well kept, sauces are in recycled alcohol bottles which was interesting, they have mancala to the play at your table, and the presentation of the food and menu looks very appealing. However, taste-wise the food is just so-so and nothing to really rave about. I've tried their burritos, breakfast silogs, crispy pata, lechon kawali, kare kare, pinakbet, dinuguan, mussels, oysters, and loco moco. Lechon kawali pieces are inconsistent with some being overcooked and tough to chew, the dinuguan was grainy, pinakbet and kare kare lacks flavor--If anything the crispy pata, mussels, silogs, and Shanghai lumpia are pretty solid food items. Service is friendly and I did like the fact that they let you know that their menu is AI-generated and may not look as pictured lol.
Tapsilog Cantina still wins points for atmosphere. The interior really does feel like a Filipino cantina -- colorful, casual, and cleverly done. It's a fun space to hang out in. But this visit just didn't hit the way I remember. The Shanghai lumpia was good, but not as crispy or flavorful as before. The marinated grilled beef with garlic rice and egg was eh. Food was unfortunately mediocre, though the meal started on a promising note with their unlimited nilagang beef broth, which was warm, comforting, and a nice way to begin the meal. I was really excited when I saw Laing and Bicol Express on the menu--two dishes I rarely see offered where I live. Unfortunately, both fell short of expectations. The Laing were made with spinach rather than the traditional taro leaves, and it lacked the rich, creamy coconut flavor the dish is known for. It tasted quite mild, and I ended up adding patis just to bring out more flavor. The Bicol Express was also underwhelming and missing the bold, savory-spicy depth that usually defines it. We also ordered the sampler with a variety of meats. It was a nice way to try different items, though nothing particularly stood out except the lechón kawali, which was nicely complemented by a flavorful lechón sauce. On the brighter side, the taho and the melon drink ended up being my favorites--both were refreshing and satisfying. Service was great throughout our visit; the staff was friendly and attentive. The space itself is also quite nice and comfortable, which made the overall experience pleasant even though the food didn't quite live up to the excitement I initially had when looking at the menu.
Visiter for lunch on a weekday. Ed (server) was really nice.. The restaurant was clean. We got the tocilog + chicken adobo combo and the tapa + lumpia + pancit combo both with garlic rice. All order were made to order. The tapa, lumpia, chicken adobo and pancit were really good. The tocino was just okay, I've had better tbh. Garlic rice could be improved had a smoky smell to it which we werent a fan of but it coyld just be our preference. Parking was easy.
Ambiance: Cozy, casual spot. Pick your own table when you walk in. Tables for both small and large groups. Large dining area outside, too. Love their large selection of condiments. Service: Got our order put in and got served water in a timely manner. Walk up to the front to pay. Was given little food trays and a foil wrap for our leftovers (so be careful to wrap it securely). Would have preferred a more secure Togo container, but it was nice to have little sauce containers to fill up to bring back. Food: - Complimentary soup: can't complain when something is free. :) Was nice and warm. Had a subtle corn flavor. Tasted great with a splash of the vinegar available on the table - Bistek: 5/5 I loved the garlic rice that came with it. I'm used to restaurants skimping on the garlic flavor, but here you can solidly taste it. The brisket was nice and juicy. Loved the sauce it came with and the onions were nicely cooked. The egg it came with was nice. Perfectly over easy. - Pork/lechon: boyfriend had no complaints Overall nice little spot with an extensive menu, but a bit on the pricier side for Filipino comfort food.

He explained the menu to us and gave suggestions. F O O D: I was really excited to try their Kare kare, because that's my favorite Filipino dish. Unfortunately, it was extremely burnt. They didn't re-make it for us or offer a refund. Other than that, the other dishes were pretty good and authentic. The portions were a great size as well. O V E R A L L: I enjoyed the outdoor seating, but I'm not sure I see myself coming back.
Filipino eats [Santa Clara CA] I found this place while searching for a Filipino restaurant, only 4 miles from where we were staying. We arrived and found street parking right in front. There was both indoor and patio seating available and some folks decided to enjoy the beautiful outdoor weather. We chose to dine inside. We were seated promptly. The menu is extensive! Holy moly, I didn't realize we have so much Filipino cuisine to offer. It was a challenge to decide but we came for silog breakfast so that's what we were eying. "SILOGS" are meats with a mound of garlic fried rice and an egg. I chose the Pork Inihaw na liempo (griddled European pork belly w/ skin) marinated Pinoy-style. It's not the usual silog I've seen offered anywhere so I was excited to try. I had the garlic rice with it. Hubby had the Boneless Pork Adobosilog (simmered in garlic, soy and coconut vinegar). The servings were generous and we both couldn't finish so we took the leftover portions home with us. Immediately I couldn't help notice the sungka in every table. Sungka is an ancient Filipino board game that involves moving shells (or stones) around a wooden board. I tried to familiarize myself with the game but I wasn't sure if I was playing it correctly LoL! I thought this was a cool idea and a nice addition to the theme of the restaurant. I got confused with the name Cantina but they also offer Filipino-inspired burritos on the menu - monster burritos and loaded sisig fries and served with fresh hot chips w/ adobo/aioli sauce. I didn't know this was another location to their Tapsilog Bistro in Campbell. This spot was poppin when I came in. Most tables were full but we were seated immediately. Our server was great and attentive even for a busier night. Food came out piping hot and the portions were large. Everything was freshly made and I loved the array of different sauces ready on the table. The knuckle is one of their most popular dishes so I had to try. It was quite big so I ended up taking the rest home but it was amazingly crispy and fatty and the vinegar sauce was a great pairing. Not pictured but we did try the ube beer. A little different but enjoyable nonetheless. This restaurant has a very laid back, almost family kind of vibe. Everyone coming in seemed to be regulars which was nice to see. read more

Great Atmosphere & Comfort Food, but Needs Menu & Dish Tweaks I drove 1.5 hours hoping to find the best pork sisig in Northern California. While my search continues, there was still a lot to appreciate about this spot. The Vibe & Service I love that everything is cooked fresh to order. You do have to wait a bit, but it pays off with a genuine homemade quality. The atmosphere was pleasant--busy, but not overcrowded--and comfortable in terms of temperature. The dining area was clean, didn't have any off-putting restaurant smells, and was completely fly-free (a major win in my book). The Food Arroz Caldo (4/5): Such a comforting, well-made dish! At $15, you definitely get generous portions, but sometimes more isn't necessarily better. My spouse doesn't eat large portions, and it was simply way too much. If they cut the portion size down and upgraded the quality of the rice, this would easily be a 5-star dish. Pork Sisig (3/5): The flavor profile was good, but it felt overly fatty. Ironically, if they used the same quality pork belly that came in the arroz caldo, this could have been the best sisig in NorCal. Garlic Rice (2.5/5): The base rice throughout the meal needs an upgrade. For the garlic rice specifically, the garlic flavor didn't really come through. Adding toasted or fried garlic chips on top would make a huge difference. Halo-Halo (5/5): Fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed this and it ended the meal on a high note. Constructive Feedback on the Menu The menu could really use a redesign. There are multiple dishes that sound nearly identical listed at different prices, which creates confusion. In the restaurant business, less is often more--focusing on a smaller set of core specialties rather than an overwhelming list usually elevates overall quality. Verdict: Solid fresh food and great potential, but a few small tweaks to the rice quality, meat cuts, and menu organization would take this place to the next level. read more

everything we ordered was cooked well and was tasty overall! i enjoyed their outdoor seating and overall environment. personally, i don't like their menu since the pictures of the food were made by AI - honestly, seeing pictures of the old menu, i would've preferred that. the pictures that people take of their actual food are way better. read more

This is my "go to" place when I miss home cooked meals or I don't feel like cooking. Each time I come to the restaurant Jonh is always here, always friendly and welcoming. As you wait for your food, you can play the traditional game of Sungka (Mancala). I haven't ordered anything I haven't enjoyed. read more

4.5 Some of the best pork sisig i have eaten. I like how they make it to order instead of having a bunch of premade dishes, cafeteria style. The head chef was really friendly and you can tell he was proud of his restaurant and food. This location has a way more extensive menu than the campbell location. I definitely recommend. read more

This place was pretty good. I like my garlic fried rice to have more garlic. I don't really have too many complaints except it's true that there's no Filipino food like my mom's home cooked meals! My server was really nice and attentive. It's more of a restaurant where you just get the servers attention when you need something. The ambiance inside also reminds me of my parents place with the shelving and big fridge. I recommend this place if you want some tapsilog, just like my mom's tapsilog more read more

Disappointing First Experience. Was really excited to try this Filipino spot for the first time. The customer service was horrible. We sat down waiting for a menu for 10 minutes and no one checked up on us. I grab a menu from another table and waited another 5 minutes to get our order taken still yet again no one checking up on us. I go to the front and ask the server at the cash register whos doing nothing on how to order he said he'll come to our table. We also did not get any water upon seating until I had to grab his attention. Fast forward we're trying to pay at the front and the two workers are chatting and laughing while we're standing at the register waiting to pay so we can leave. The food was good but the lack of service from the teenage workers was horrible. read more

I've been to Tapsilog Cantina regularly but my recent order has been very disappointing. I ordered the 2 Meat Silog(Pork Sisig and Lechon Kawali). The amount of portions was so underwhelming and that the meat was mostly fat. Even the pork sisig which I think they changed the recipe had too much fat. The food was also too oily. Very disappointing especially with the prices going up and now the quality is going down read more

Delicious Filipino food! Finally got a chance to check this place out and got the pork sisig plate and pork sisig California burrito. Both packed with flavor! I absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for tasty food! Four stars because I did revisit a second time and found the quality to be less than my first visit. The portions were also less. I am thinking it could depend on who is behind the kitchen that day. Overall, it was still good but I definitely noticed a difference between both visits. read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch. We started with a plate of lumpia. They are small but we were given a lot. We ordered and the food came out fairly quick. There was quite a crowd for a weekday lunch. I really liked the pork sisig. Tried the tapsilog and topsilog and I didn't enjoy those as much although it is nice that it comes as a meal combo with rice. Would come back for more sisigs! read more

Stopped by Tapsilog Cantina on a hot day and was relieved by how cool it felt inside. I ordered the longsilog and chicken pancit and the food came out super quick which I really appreciated. Overall everything tasted good. The standout for me was definitely the sausage and noodles. They were very flavorful and easily one of the best parts of the meal. Though the sausage takes the cake for me. Savory with a hint of sweetness it was really good and super easy to eat. It was a tad bit oily and the garlic rice's texture wasn't really my favorite but that didn't take away too much from the experience. Portions were solid too and it definitely filled me up. My visit at Tapsilog Cantina was wonderful. Everything about it felt, "like home." My party and I were kindly greeted and chose to sit outside but then requested if we were able to sit inside instead because it got windy out of no where and we were able to sit inside without any problem. While we were outside our orders were taken and I couldn't decide between a Bangsilog or Sisiglog so I opted for both! Hearing the food being cooked while waiting inside excited me very much. I received a meaty bangus filet with a generous portion of sisig & garlic rice. Squeezing the lime for its juice really added that needed flavor for the meal and overall complimented it very well. I'll mostly be revisiting this location if I'm ever in the Santa Clara again! read more

Friendly service and extensive menu. Good variety of silog. Food was tasty and prices were acceptable. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking lot on site as well as street parking. If you like Filipino food or are willing to try it, this place is worth visiting. There aren't as many Filipino restaurants in Silicon Valley compared to some other cuisines, but I am glad this business is known to most Filipinos in the South Bay. read more
I'm gonna be honest. The only reason why I came here is because my friend brought some lumpia from this place. So I wanted to try the other stuff that they had that being said, lumpia, amazing. What we got: Ube Beer : 3/5 Calamasi ale : 4/5 To be honest, I don't really like beer but I thought it'd be fun try. And of course it was fun to try. Combo 5: i wanted the meat to be longanisa, but I think they gave me topsilog? Idk still good lol Combo 1: i'm gonna be honest. I have no idea what he got. I just remember combo one and also, they forgot his soup. Till the end, but it was chill because they were super nice to us. I went here after climbing with a friend(im working on it being more lmao) i really enjoyed how the menu had a whole paragraph on why they decided to open this restaurant to me. It really felt like this place has a lot of passion and heart to it and you can see that and feel it when you sit in the restaurant and eat their food. I'm really glad that they had a mancala board. The food took a while to come, but it's been so long since I played mancala, so I had a lot of fun doing that. At the end they were super nice and they gave us two ice cream scoops, so we shared that, I love ube. Would I come back again? Hell, yeah. Especially for the Lumpia. Amazing atmosphere with a friendly staff. The food was class A with feeling just like home. They do a very good job of representing our culture and food. Food Review Order: Lechon Belly Merienda Silog with Garlic Rice The lechon belly had a beautiful golden-brown skin with a perfect fat-to-meat ratio. The skin was crisp while the meat remained tender and juicy, exactly how lechon belly should be. The homemade dipping sauce was packed with flavor. There's a specific component in it that reminds me of the Philippines, although I can't quite pinpoint what it is. It's a great sauce--especially for people who don't like vinegar--but personally, I still prefer a simple classic vinegar dipping sauce. Something like pinakurat or sukang tuba would create a whole new experience. (Personal preference.) The garlic rice was a bit dry, which was the only downside of the plate. Service Waiter John served the first bowl of the complimentary soup and was very attentive. Even simple eye contact was enough for him to check if you needed anything. The cook also provided great service, helping bring food out and personally asking customers if they wanted soup. Overall, top-notch customer service from both of them. Ambience The restaurant played good Hawaiian music like Kolohe Kai, Common Kings, and J Boog, which created a relaxed vibe. However, adding some Filipino artists like Parokya ni Edgar, Eraserheads, Kamikazee, or Yeng Constantino could elevate the place even more and make it feel more homey. It would capture that nostalgic feeling of sitting around with friends, someone pulling out a guitar, everyone singing along--and then about an hour later, your mom calling you inside because the food is ready. read more

Great menu, food and service. I came in for breakfast and was able to get my Filipino breakfast fix. The portion sizes are generous and the food tastes very authentic. You feel like you're in a Filipino kitchen inside of this place. The service was so kind and quick I would suggest this place to anyone and everyone. I hope to come back soon. read more
Love this place!! I've been here a handful of times, but I always forget to write a review. This place has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I've seen them accommodate a few large parties. Definitely great for any occasion! The service is always quick and friendly. My fiance and I usually order the plates with garlic rice, an egg, and the side of cucumbers. My favorite combo is the lechon and lonsilog. I've never been disappointed here. Everything always tastes amazing! The portions are pretty generous for the price too. I usually always have left overs. When they have the cantaloupe drink, I always get it. It's perfectly sweet and refreshing. I would 100% recommend this place. read more

Checked this spot out on a weekday during lunch time. They have pretty good combos that are good for the price. The kare kare combo came with nilaga, lumpia, garlic rice& ice cream. My mom thought it was a bit too salty The sisig burrito was good and definitely filling. The chips were stale. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. I came here for a group dinner last night and the service was good! The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable about the gigantic menu. The restaurant is very casual and there is a parking lot attached. The menu can be a little overwhelming, as it's several pages long, especially if you aren't familiar with the cuisine. A great homey Filipino restaurant in Santa Clara. Parking lot is a lil tight and small but should be enough for the plaza (if not find street parking) Overall a great experience, went on a Friday night and got their burrito which was huge. Their combo meals are good cuz it comes with soup and ice cream. My friends and I came in for brunch on a Sunday and were seated immediately, there's a couple tables inside, plenty outside and there is bar seating as well. They offer a variety of food items on their menu, more than Tapsilog Bistro in Campbell. Service is quick, food came out in a good amount of time. Restrooms are located outside in the other area, codes are posted and staff can gve it, staff is friendly and welcoming. read more
