Tapa Bar is located in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu next to the Tapa Tower. We stopped in on our first day while waiting for our room to be ready and ordered some drinks and appetizers - Hot Wings and Waffle Fries. The Hot Wings were mediocre at best and were $25 for 6 wings! Waffle Fries were nothing special either, but at least they were only $6. The other day we visited, we ordered a Rueben to share - the pastrami meat was cold even though it was a toasted sandwich. The drinks are much better - I enjoyed a few Pina Coladas during my stay. They offer table seating around the entire bar plus bar top seating - it has a great view of one of the pools and they have a ton of TVs. It was great watching the Niners defeat the Eagles here on Sunday with a bunch of fans! Overall, Tapa Bar is good for drinks, but I would not recommend for food. So for years now I have had good friends and business partners complain how bad this bar was. I never really followed up because over 10 years, I figured they had an off night. Tonight June 23rd 2026, from about 7pm to 10pm, there was the most embarrassing service ever. So all those years of not calling corporate is over. I'm embarrassed for the people of Hawaii to have their visitors come to the Tapa Bar and receive, way less then bad service. I didn't get names of service people but the older chinese lady server should not be serving. I'll call corporate to explain but the bottom line - she was the worse ever and she had no pride in her self or her job. We ordered water and when I went to get water for the table, the 2 bartenders pointed to cups and water jugs instead of stepping up and pouring it. They were not pouring drinks, they were just standing there. So for corporate, please mark the servers, waitresses, bartenders, working on June 23, 2026 between 7pm and 10pm, they need to be retrained, but I doubt that would happen. No pride or work ethic between all of them. Since I called into corporate, they gave me 2 managers names, and again, I will call corporate this week. But the 2 names I received were Tiffany Okamoto, tokamoto@hilton.com and Vincent Brunetti, vbrunetti@hilton.com. I am writing their names down because there is no way that they don't know what goes on at the Tapa Bar. Stopped by here for lunch while staying at Hilton Hawaiian Village and was frankly a bit disappointed at the food quality (at least for the pizza we ordered)--tasted very "generic" and did not pack a lot of flavor despite being the meat lover's pizza. The wings that were supposed to be salt and vinegar did not have much of a vinegar taste to it either. Service was excellent though as far as staff goes. Drinks are good, and ambiance is excellent when there is live music in the evenings, so do stop by for that at least! read more

The waitresses were spread pretty thin but she was still able to help us out quickly when we flagged her down. We order off the happy hour menu. The awful fries were delicious but definitely way too spicy once we got to the peppers. So we ordered the loaded fries to try to balance everything out. Just had burgers and some drinks. This bar is at the bottom of our building. First night here, tired and hungry and ordered the funguy burger and loaded fries. The burger was very good but the bun overpowered the burger. Brioche bun which is my favorite bun but way too big. The burger itself was good but not enough of their sauce. The Tapa Bar is such a great place to have a drink and/or grab a quick bite to eat any time of the day. This little bar is located o the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort just past the check in (almost centered in the resort). They offer both bar and table seating, depending what mood or company you have. It is very lively, since it's located next to one of the resorts small pool, but also has live entertainment every evening. This is kid friendly, so long as they sit at the available tables. It is a full bar offering a variety of local beers and traditional domestic and imports. While away from home, I have to try those beers that are local to the area and not available near home. The bartenders can mix up anything you ask for, or you may choose from their unique cocktails. David is one of the Tapa Bar bartenders that works here (but you can also find him filling in at other bars within the resort). He is very friendly and, when not too busy, will spike up a conversation with you. I can't end the review without talking about their food. They offer a small menu of food and appetizers. I tried their burger and fries. Although it was simple, it had great flavor. Be aware of the birds that perch around the area. They seem to always be watching. If you leave your food unattended, they will know and swoop in! When they say "Please Don't Feed The Birds" they mean it. read more

Showed up for Happy Hour (3-5pm) Labor Day weekend, but was informed that the Happy Hour specials were not being offered during the union strike. This is a good bar to start when at the Hilton Hawaii Village. It's right under the Tapa Tower and pool. It's a nice big outside bar area with a stage. it's seat yourself. You will be greeted promptly by one of the waitstaff. The service is friendly and pretty fast. We had a few drinks and shared a cheese pizza. Serving size was good for the pizza that both of us could easily share. The food is good for resort pool food. Plan accordingly for resort prices. My complaint comes from the extremely high prices and very poor quality of food. The former to be expected at a Hilton in Waikiki. They had multiple beer choices unavailable and the burger was very mediocre and over $20. Reminded me of a public school lunch burger if I'm being honest. On 7/11 we had a VIP event on the beach and some of us wanted to come and have a few cocktails and food before the evening event. A group of 8 of us went down to start the evening off. Our waitress was Theresa H and we didnt even have our whole party actually seated and she said to us "If you want to sit then you need to drink." I was shock just a little but answered her that we will be drinking. When she returned with our drinks then she said "it's a two drink minimum." I didnt remember seeing any signs. We were short two chairs and I asked if she could get us more and she basically ignored us. Before my request I seen her get chairs for other patrons so as she walked by I waved her down and asked for chairs again and she said "Its there and you can go get them!" We also stayed on property and to stimulate the Waikiki economy and was just in disbelief with the service that we had. Most of us in our party are business owners and a couple of us in the visitor industry. From seeing what happened yesterday I will be informing my clients and employees that they should seek somewhere else to stay as the Hilton Hawaiian is definitely not local friendly. Not very strong and just a little watery. - Gin & Tonic | Used Bombay Sapphire and was a nice, smooth cocktail. THE VIBE EVOCATION. Energetic, touristy scene with live music every night from 7-10PM. This is an outdoor (covered) restaurant with a full bar, so be ready to feel slightly warm and a little humid. It's Hawaii, it just be like that sometimes. THE PARKING AFFAIR. If you're not already staying at one of the hotels in the vicinity, it's not really worth coming out here. Parking is in a nearby structure and the going rate is $60/night. THE RESERVATION DETERMINATION. No reservations needed. Show up and grab a table or sit at the bar. THE RETURN QUANDARY. Great place to eat at Hilton Hawaiian village. The burgers are descent size and tasty. The pizza pretty good here for being at the resort. The prices are descent. But come during happy hour it's worth the prices. They got live bands playing on the weekends and I believe the weekdays too so it's nice way to relax and end the night. The service is pretty good. The bar has a good selections of drinks and often gets busy. The only downside is the birds there that other patrons are feeding to encourages birds to come by right next to you which is definitely annoying and unsanitary. I can't blame the restaurant for the birds as they do try to clean up and scare the birds away but it's the guest who keeps feeding the birds for them to keep coming. After checking into the Hilton Hawaiian Village, my sister, her family and I needed to get something to eat. Our flight left San Diego around 9:50am PT and arrived at the resort close to 2:30pm HST so we were starving. Tapa Bar was the first place we saw, and it was a very (expected) underwhelming first meal of our vacation. First and foremost, the waitress was nowhere to be found a lot of the time and the food/drinks took a very long time to get to our table. It was not until close to the end of our meal where she somewhat apologized for not being present, then when we paid that she was personable. It was typical bar food. Burgers, pizza, fries. This was my least favorite meal of the trip. The burger was lackluster and did not have much taste to it. My brother in law got the same burger and the cheese on his was so burnt. My sister got the tuna melt and she was not expecting it to be warmed. My favorite thing to eat were the waffle fries. Also, I got a frozen daiquiri (lilikoi) and it did not taste like alcohol. Overall, not the best place for customer service or food, but the bar is in the middle of the resort and near one of the pools, which is very convenient! I will say that in the evenings, it is very lively because there is a band that plays. That was the best part about this bar during my experience. Located at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Tapa bar is one of the outdoor bars on the property. This is a great place to socialize and have food & drink. The table service was OK. There is a strike going on right now at the property which has limited service. No one comes to the table to take food and drink orders. You now have to go to the bar and pay for everything before your order comes out. Because this is an open air restaurant, you cannot leave your table unattended as the birds will have a picnic and they are a bit aggressive. The food ordered was good. The mixed drinks were pretty good. Someone will come by the table and remove unwanted and trash items. What made this visit enjoyable was the live local band. They ssung songs from Bruno Mars to Sade. I would definitely visit there again but it would have to be after strike os over and normal operations have resumed. read more

Very cool bar and casual restaurant inside the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort. Atmosphere, decor, and setting are great. Drink and food prices are reasonable considering the location. However, the service was definitely not up to the Hilton standards during this visit. Waitress Janice never asked our party of four if we wanted a second round of drinks, immediately dropped the check, never refilled water glasses or checked on our party during our one hour visit even though the crowd was light.
