Tao Tea Leaf Ltd. has this awesome website! The best tea website where one can get all you want to know about tea. And you can order anything you can imagine to make your perfect cup of tea from their website. Free shipping for order over $50. (Now I sounded like one of those Spam yelp reviews!) +3 stars But visiting the Tao Tea Leaf shop itself is kind of an anti-climax. Walk in on a Sunday afternoon and it is dead with no customers... that's fine but it is so uncomfortable when the lady followed us all over the store.... I am scared to touch anything afraid I might break them! Note to lady: It will be nice if you would offer us some tea sample to try, which is a common practice at most tea shops... This is the only teashop place that I would rather shop online then in person..which is quite unusual for me since I love to touch and smell what I buy!

Sample of ginseng oolong tea. This is my favourite so far

SALE ALERT: They have two huge 50% off sales throughout the year: Canada Day and Boxing Day! I have been looking for an independant loose-leaf tea shop for a while. Tao Tea Leaf has an amazing selection of oolong and green tea, as well as herbal and black tea. They also do free shipping on online orders of $35+ (and they give you free samples in your package so you still get to try new tea!). They package the tea very well so it remains fresh for a long time. They also put stickers on each package with information on how to brew the specific tea that was purchased. On their website, they explain where exactly each tea comes from, with photos from the farms. The lady at the store that helped us pick our tea was very knowledgeable and patient. You can sense that they are passionate about what they do. I will be ordering tea from Tao Tea Leaf on a regular basis. Love this shop!

The owner recommended that I get the regular sugar level; his recommendation was correct. The customer service was courteous and fast (I was their only customer at the time). Sometimes they give out 2-for-1 drinks, and on weekends, they have a combo of Hi Yogurt drink and So Sweet dessert for $9.99. There are 3 tables and counter seating. The tables have electrical outlets beside them. There is wood paneling, giving it an Asian vibe. There is very quiet music playing in the background. The address implies the Chinatown Centre, but the entrance is off Spadina Ave, not inside the mall. There are 3 businesses inside the location. One of them is a Thai Spa. They have a massage chair inside the Hi Yogurt seating area so you can get a quick 5-min massage while waiting for your order! There is free WiFi. The store is not wheelchair accessible. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2024-137

It was tasty and very filling, and I would go back if I can. Location: The location is very casual, and it's a great place to maybe grab and go or take a quick seat. They do have really nice indoor decorations and even some chair swings, which I thought was a beautiful touch to the location. Perfect for a casual date or just to grab bubble tea with friends. We were walking within our hotel distance, so I'm not really sure how parking works within this location. Service: The service was quick and efficient. They don't have servers; you just grab from the counter and take a seat wherever you please. The workers were really nice and grabbed our order in a timely manner.

Definitely some good photo spots here - they have cute swing sets and neat LED displays. It's a great place to come study (because they have OUTLETS!!) or just hang out with friends

It's the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, order slowly, and really enjoy the evening. We started with a few appetizers, and the beef tartare was one of my favorite dishes of the night.. beautifully balanced, well seasoned, and rich without feeling too heavy. The foie gras was also very nicely done, smooth and delicate, especially with the toasted bread and the sweetness from the preserve on the side. The risotto was creamy and comforting, with a deep savory flavor that felt very French in the most satisfying way. For the main, the duck dish was especially memorable.. rich, hearty, and full of depth, with the beans and sauce bringing everything together in a way that felt rustic but still refined. What I appreciated most was that nothing felt overly trendy or overcomplicated. The food felt grounded in classic bistro cooking, and that confidence came through in the experience. Overall, this is the kind of restaurant I'd come back to when I want a slower, more intimate dinner in the city. Warm atmosphere, thoughtful food, and the kind of place that leaves a very lasting impression.
