A refreshing take amidst all the copy and paste boba spots in the bay. At TANING, you'll find fruit and vegetable drinks that actually make you feel healthy. We tried the avocado pistachio coconut (9/10) and frangipani jasmine lemon tea (7/10), but everything on the menu looked amazing. Your Chinese mom would like this place--it's not too sweet.

Came on a Friday after lunch, around 1 pm. There were a few people waiting for their drinks. You order at the kiosk on the left when you walk inside. Very spacious, lots of seating. I like that there's a queue on the screen, like 11 drinks ahead of you. Surprisingly, I got my drinks faster than I expected from the queue. Staff are friendly and open to questions. They were sold out on a few drinks, so my mom was bummed out. She ordered their Avocado + Strawberry drink, and I ordered their signature Phoenix oolong boba milk tea. I was a bit confused when they said boba was sold out on the menu, so I added sago. But when I got my drink, there was boba inside... Anyway, I got mine at 70% sugar, which was recommended. My mom's drink was 50%, which she said was a bit sweet because of the strawberry being sweet already. So if you're the type that doesn't want too much sweetness, go for 0% for the Avocado Strawberry drink. Overall, the drinks were delicious, not too sweet for the oolong at 70%, and the theme of the shop is super cute. We'll definitely be back to try their other menu. They have a lot of variety and healthy choices.

Great concept, great customer service and good area with lots of parking. The drinks aren't the typical full on sugar boba teas, these are real fruits and you can actually see the fruits being put to use behind the glass wall. Small seating space so not meant for people who want to study but great for grab and go

I would highly recommend the Green Grape Kale Drink and the Avocado Coconut Smoothie! Both drinks were sweet and refreshing! You can tell they are made with fresh ingredients. Despite the surge of "healthy" drinks popping up in the Bay Area, this is one of the better ones! Do online ordering if you can! Cute aesthetic inside and they collab with the malatang spot next door often, so look out for discounts!

I tried the pistachio avocado coconut drink with coconut jelly. It also came with oats. I got 70% sweet less ice. It was about $10. The drink was just okay, especially considering the steep price. I wanted more flavor but it was quite flat. I couldn't taste much matcha at all. The coconut jelly was harder than I prefer. They have the option bc to order ahead on their website. It seems like wait times can get quite long so this speeds up your order.

Loved this boba spot! The drinks are super unique, healthier-leaning, and really tasty. My favorite was the grape drink. It was so refreshing and flavorful. There are so many options to choose from, but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's a very casual spot, and the staff were friendly and nice. One of the newest additions of health drink shops in the South Bay. I've read that it's recommended to order in advance and pick up to avoid the wait so that's what I did. Drink was ready by the time I arrived ~20 mins. Only 1 person working at the moment so it took awhile to get the staff's attention to retrieve my drink even though I was standing right in front of him at the pick up counter.. There was no one else waiting around in the store on a weekday afternoon but while enjoying my drink, someone came in to order at the kiosk and their drink was ready ~5 mins Ordered both pistachio avocado specialty drinks that came in the shaker bottle, less ice and 0% sweetness. Loved that even with 0% sweetness, the drink was still good !! Consistency was creamy from the avocado yet still light from the coconut milk and filling from the oats. Couldn't quite taste the pistachio but did taste the coconut. Of the 2, I liked the avocado pecan smoothie a little more just because it was thicker and had the crunchiness of the pecan! Store isn't too big but have some indoor and outdoor seating. Drinks are about $9, on the expensive side but comparable to shu shia. Appreciate their student discount and reusable cup discount though!

I recently tried Taning and was really impressed! I ordered the Pistachio & Avocado Coconut Drink, Avocado Coconut Smoothie, and the Avocado & Kale Salad Drink, and everything tasted fresh, healthy, and not overly sweet -- which I really appreciated. The avocado drinks were creamy and smooth, and you can tell they use real ingredients. The Avocado & Kale drink was surprisingly good and felt more like a healthy meal than just a drink. Also liked that you can customize sugar and ice levels. The packaging was really nice and the drinks looked beautiful too. Great place if you want something refreshing but also healthy and filling. Definitely coming back to try more flavors! I also really liked the service and ordering system. They give you a queue number when you order, and there are two screens that show which orders are being prepared, which are in progress, and which are ready. It makes everything very organized and easy, and you always know the status of your order without having to ask.

Tried their smashed wampi lemon tea drink and pistachio & avocado coconut drink. The lemon tea was a pretty standard Asian lemon tea but the avocado drink was such a surprise! It was creamy with some nuttiness and you definitely taste the coconut. I'd come back just for this drink! Bring the shaker cup back for $1off next drink!

I already have four of the shaker/cocktail cups from this place, so if that's any indicator of how much I like it, then you already know. To be fair, I've only had their Avocado Pecan smoothie, but the crunchiness of the pecans goes soooo well with the butteriness of the smoothie. I usually opt for about half sugar, though my friend said it didn't taste like anything (ugh, rude), so just something to keep in mind before you order. For some reason, not many people know this, but the store (at least when I went a week ago) offers a student discount--20% off! Just show your ID, but you'll have to flag down a barista rather than ordering from the kiosks. I also heard you can get a discount for trading in your shaker cups, but they're so cute that I just keep mine. P.S. For some reason (and maybe I'm doing it wrong), it says to shake the smoothie... DO NOT do this. I shook the cup and some of the smoothie spilled out. There's really no need to shake the avocado smoothie, just use your straw to mix it. Or don't. Live your best life!

Listen here folks, this longan tea got so much rizz it practically winked at me from the cup holder. Took one sip and the flavor had more smooth rizz than a Barry White record playing at low volume. Yep, that's rizz: Back in my day tea was just leaf water, but this stuff got modern-day rizz that makes your taste buds slow dance. The sweetness slides in gentle-like with a polite little rizz handshake instead of that sugary wallop. Even the aroma's got senior-citizen-approved rizz, floating up like it pays property taxes on time. I don't know what a longan is exactly, but it's bringing confident tropical rizz like it just got back from vacation. If drinks could flirt respectfully, this one's got that clean-cut Sunday-best rizz your mother would approve of. Overall, Taning Tea brewed this with such dignified rizz I nearly stood up to salute it. read more

I got the Signature Phoenix Oolong Boba Milk Tea. It was pretty tea forward! The milk flavor is very light. They recommended 70% sugar which is what I got and I found it to be perfect (but it reminds me more of 25% sugar at other boba places so if you like it sweet get 100% sugar). Service was extremely slow. The shop was clearly overwhelmed and taking more orders than they could handle. I waited over an hour for my drink, and several orders placed after mine came out first. When I asked a worker about it, they explained that they have different stations and that some drinks are easier to make than others. While I understand that setup, it came across as skipping earlier orders simply because they were harder to make, which doesn't feel fair to customers who ordered first.
