I absolutely love the smoothies here. They are fresh and delicious, with clean ingredients. However, it is nearly impossible to get your hands on one. The service here is truly some of the worst I've ever experienced. I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to even come to the register, and then it took 20 more for my smoothie to get made. I even tried ordering online ahead of time, and they still took 20-30 minutes to get it to me. While i can excuse an understaffing issue, I've personally seen workers through the glass on their phone, or doing nothing while there is a line waiting to be serviced. Our friends wanted smoothies so we decided to go here since it was nearby. The smoothies were actually disgusting. There was only one person working total on a Thursday afternoon. We had to wait at least five minutes to order even though there was no one else in the store at the time because the person was working on other people's orders. Because it was empty. We decided to order anyway, and it took at least 20 minutes to get our order after even though ours were the only orders. We got the pina colada and tropical paradise. The pina colada tasted like unripened banana and a faint coconut flavor, and the tropical paradise tasted like what I imagine dirt tastes like with a hint of unripe banana. Neither tasted anything like the ingredients listed next to them on the menu and I don't think a smoothie flavor should vary if they use the supposed ingredients or at least any kind of flavors of them. The only downside was the cashier had no idea what he was doing. I told him to put my phone number for rewards and he specifically said they dont do rewards at this location. Then another person came out and put my number. The guy also almost gave us the wrong sandwich when he handed it to us already & asked for it back. Be really careful going here if you have dietary allergens. This morning I went to get a salad and clarified that I had a severe dairy allergy and asked if the dressing or salad had any hidden dairy in it. The guy assured me that there was no dairy in it and so I ordered. When my order came out it had feta cheese all over it... When I informed him that I couldn't eat it, he gave me attitude and acted as if it was my fault when I had already clarified that I could not have any form of dairy on my salad. When I came home, I had a little faith that the dressing didn't have dairy in it and looked it up only to find that there is no possible confirmation that there was no dairy in it. Vitality bowl states nowhere online that it doesn't contain dairy. I feel very much so that this man dismissed me and acted as if my allergens were preferences and that it wouldn't really impact me when a exposure can knock me down for over a week and a half and cause extreme medical outcomes. If you work in the food industry, you should know what allergens are, and where in your menu allergen's exist. People have died due to exposures like this. I'm giving two stars because the girl that worked there was the absolute sweetest and made the experience much better but the guy needs to work on not lying through his teeth when it comes to ingredients and not giving people attitude when he makes a mistake. I love the acai bowls in Hawaii because the fruit is so sweet on the islands and I'm in paradise. Vitality bowl is a close second if you aren't on the islands. The acai in Hawaii is usually frozen and scooped like ice cream on the island. Then, they add all the fattening extras and honey. There's a pretty good selection of options and add ins at Vitality Bowl. They did change the container since I was here last. I like the dessert one because it has chocolate chips. I ordered online. It said ready in 20 minutes and I arrived early and it was ready. They said it depends on how many orders they have and the website gives them 20 minutes. I left a great review at this vitality bowl 8 months ago because of the kind gentleman who was working here. Unfortunately, since I've been here recently my experience has been opposite. Two young girls work there today and have terrible customer service. To start off with, I called in to place an order as I was in a hurry but no answer. By the 3rd time I called, it seemed like I was sent to the voicemail. Now I have torn the benefit of doubt because I understand they could've been busy which is why no one answered the call. That's until my partner gets there and he tells me how it's two young girls working who were lazily working. They got our order wrong and forgot to make 2 paninis and only made 1 so my partner had to wait longer. Mind you we were in a hurry but he was already waiting by the time I told him to forget about it. They also messed up our drink orders when we ordered 2 tropical paradise and 1 groovy guava they did the opposite and made 2 groovy guavas and 1 tropical paradise. He goes on to tell me that when someone who looked like the supervisor or boss comes in he then noticed the two girls began to work more efficient. My partner also goes on to tell me that they seem hungover. I understand mistakes, however I do believe laziness should be held accountable. Definitely coming back again! Today was a kinda rough day for me, and I wanted to treat myself to something cold and sweet, so I decided on an acai bowl and went to the Vitality Bowls in Sunnyvale. I'm so glad I did! The acai bowl was delicious and so filling, but what really made my day was Giselle's kindness. I came in around 8:15-20 because parking was difficult, and I know it can be frustrating for staff when people come in close to closing time, especially on a weekend. Giselle was incredibly kind, and her smile just brightened my day. She welcomed every customer so warmly. I ate inside and left the store at 8:35, and she kindly let us know that the store would be closing in 5 minutes, still with that friendly smile. You don't realize how much a stranger's smile can mean when you're having a tough day. I wanted to thank her, but she was busy washing dishes, so I had to leave. Giselle and Mia, thank you both!
