Fast, friendly and good tea. Next to the high school brings the lunch crowd. Nice to have a taco next door and round out with a drink.

My nephew enjoyed his double scoop cookies and cream. He said it was really good. I ordered a half & half scoop: Gulab Jamun mixed with Biscoff. This was super creamy and rich but also, the ice cream started to melt pretty quick. I normally like my ice cream held up together and not melting so quick. Another awesome flavor is their mango; It's like literally biting through an actual mango. So good! I'd like to give Bibek, the employee, a huge shout out for taking his time with giving me samples. He's a nice and enthusiastic person who loves showcasing the flavors of Pints of Joy. I'd definitely come back again for a scoop!

Nostalgic flavors from my childhood in a gelato format? :)…read more I came to Marco Polo on a Friday evening and ordered two small cups for my partner and I. This is my third time at Marco Polo and it really hit the spot. The location is in Vietnam Town, on the far right side, next to Pho 90. When I went this time around, there was no lines but there were still people sitting in the store eating their desserts. Parking here can get tough because of the plaza itself so just a heads up to folks who do not frequent the area. What makes Marco Polo so special is their Asian gelato flavors that you cannot really get anywhere else (that to say a lot of places are now expanding their selections). This was the first spot where I could finally get my hands on durian gelato and it was absolutely delicious. The store itself has around 3 tables for you to sit in and is pretty bare boned. It is good for a grab and go but with the limited seating inside and outside you could spend some time here. Service is quick and you are able to try out some samples. This time around I ordered black sesame and Pandan, while my partner got mango and lychee. It was near close so they ran out of mangosteen unfortunately when I went. While the flavors were great, stood out, and were bold, I will say texturally it was a bit icey for my liking but that might have been because they started crystallizing from being out for a while. Overall, this is a small business I will continue to support!

Somisomi is a dessert shop that focuses on the combination of freshly made taiyaki and soft serve,…read morecreating a dessert experience that feels both nostalgic and modern. We walked into a casual, easygoing space where the concept is simple but works well: warm fish-shaped waffle cones filled with different flavors paired with creamy soft serve and toppings. The setup is straightforward and the atmosphere stays relaxed, making it a fun stop for a quick dessert rather than a place you would spend a long time sitting. The taiyaki is the main highlight and gives the desserts their signature appeal. The outside has a light crispness while the inside stays soft, creating a nice contrast with the cold soft serve. The fillings offer a good mix of classic and creative options, with red bean, custard, black sesame, and Nutella being some of the popular choices. We tried the red bean, which keeps things traditional with a mild sweetness, and the black sesame, which adds a nuttier flavor that pairs especially well with the waffle texture. Nutella works well if you prefer something richer and more dessert-like, with the warm pastry melting slightly against the chocolate spread. The soft serve is what brings everything together, with flavors like matcha and ube standing out. The matcha has a noticeable tea flavor without becoming too intense, and the ube adds a sweeter, more dessert-focused option that complements the warm pastry nicely. Adding toppings like cookies or cereal gives the dessert extra texture and makes each order feel more customizable. The combination of warm taiyaki, cold soft serve, and different fillings is what makes Somisomi different from a typical ice cream stop, with the temperature contrast and variety of textures keeping each bite interesting. Service is usually quick, which fits the style of the shop since most people come in for a treat on the go. The staff handles the steady flow efficiently, and the turnover moves at a pace that keeps the line from backing up. The menu is straightforward, but there are enough combinations to make repeat visits interesting, with the rotating soft serve flavors and filling options giving you room to try something new each time. Somisomi is a fun dessert spot that does a great job with a simple concept, especially if you enjoy Asian-inspired desserts and want something that balances warm, crispy, creamy, and sweet in one order. The quality of the taiyaki and the balance of flavors make it a worthwhile stop when you are in the mood for something a little different from the usual ice cream or pastry run.

If you're looking for real gelato -- not the "we say it's gelato but it's basically ice cream" kind…read more-- this is the spot. The gelato here is house-made, fresh every single day, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The texture? Silky, smooth, and rich without being heavy. The flavor? Bold, clean, and perfectly balanced -- not overly sweet, not artificial, just pure authenticity in every bite. A lot of places throw around the word gelato. This place earns it. This isn't mass-produced, freezer-burned, been-sitting-there-all-week gelato. This is crafted. Intentional. Authentic. One scoop in and you know -- this belongs in the real deal category. If you appreciate quality, freshness, and flavor that actually delivers, do yourself a favor and stop by. This is the kind of spot you bring friends to just to say, "See? I told you."

I asked the employee if they offer samples as it was my first time there but store policy doesn't allow it so I just asked for flavor recommendations instead. They have plenty of flavors but I am lactose intolerant and asked if they had any non-dairy ones and they had a good selection! I ended up getting the mango flavor which the employee said was made with fresh mango and a coconut base and it was delicious. The mango flavor was refreshing and not artificial. The coconut base was not really distinguishable which I was relieved about because I was afraid the coconut would overpower the mango but that was not the case. I have to give a huge THANK YOU to Jyoti for saving our event!!!…read more We called to order a cake for a birthday at Pump it Up Santa Clara (they are a vendor partner and offer free delivery) and the person on the phone confirmed the order and said they would likely delivery Friday the day before, but on the day of, we checked in for the party and the cake was never delivered!! It took a couple calls but I was finally able to get ahold of Jyoti who said the cake was ready at Sunnyvale but the order had been marked as a "pickup"! She very kindly rushed over and delivered the cake right away and it made it just in time (about 10 minutes before the party was supposed to end)!!! I called Coldstone Creamery on Saturday 5/30 ~9:30PM (right before closing) and talked to a female employee. I'm not sure where the mix-up happened, and didn't receive a confirmation receipt/email so I couldn't catch the mistake beforehand :( I really appreciate Jyoti for going the extra mile to save our event but hope they can avoid the mix-up in the future!! Thank you and happy to follow-up if you have any additional questions to hopefully avoid the same issue in the future!!

I watched her put the yellow cake slices in mine, but unfortunately she overblended both shakes so our add-ins were basically nonexistent. Poor girl looks overworked and underpaid. :( It's sad to see this location going downhill as there isn't another decent icecream place nearby.
