    Came out cold inside

TERRIBLE. Came on a Saturday excited to try a new food spot in the area. It was before noon and they were already "out" of beef empanadas. How are you out Saturday before noon? It certainly wasn't busy enough to sell out. We ordered the chicken and a ricotta cheese pastry. The empanada was still cold inside. The pastry was so dry, one could choke. Avoid at all costs, this was such a disappointment.

I had a great experience trying this new coffee shop. The service was great. The setting was very cozy and warm. We didn't wait too long for our order. They were very patient with our questions and I really loved their recommendations because the pastries we ordered were delicious! I would definitely come back and try other pastries!

I had this place bookmarked for a while and finally stopped in. I was surprised to see what a low rating it had when I checked in because at the time that I bookmarked it it was four stars and rated highly. Through some digging I learned that the ownership had recently changed. I wanted to give it a chance anyways because the desserts looked interesting online. There is a sign for retail parking in the garage to the left of Tango but the parking spots are all reserved for Sunrise Senior Center and Sunrise Senior Center Cafe. We ended up parking at the lot next door but realized that Tango IS the Senior Center Cafe. The interior is nicely decorated so I had visions of coming again in the future and bringing my laptop to sit and work. That will not be the case though because the food was just eh and very expensive. They have their menu posted on multiple screens and it was a Goldilocks situation to find the right one: the one on the door rotates too fast, the one by the register is too small and hard to read, so we relied on the menu on the TVs behind the register and they also had laminated menus on the tables. I was excited to try all the different things but everything was very pricey. Empanadas are $5 each, and not generously sized for the price. The beef empanada was pretty good but a little hollow inside. My prosciutto medialuna was good but $10 is a steep price for a croissant sandwich, and not even a Costco sized one! So a regular croissant with some prosciutto and mayonnaise for $10 really felt like a price gauge! It was painful to have left a full $5 coffee behind but my partner said his Americano was undrinkable: "overextracted and tastes like motor oil". The Alfajor cookie was $4!! It was soooo dry and crumbly I coughed out chalk dust. The total for everything was $26 for essentially a croissant, an empanada, a coffee, and a cookie. We will not be returning unfortunately. Come for the vibes but avoid the coffee at all costs. Food is hit or miss. Oh and don't believe all the 5 star ratings on Google because they make you post the review when you purchase even BEFORE you taste anything in order to get 10% off your order!

A new Argentinian cafe has opened up in the neighborhood!!! We went on their grand opening day and came in around early afternoon and all of their pastries were already sold out. We were able to still get their empanadas though and they were delicious! Super flavorful, packed with your choice of protein (beef, chicken) or veggie (spinach). You can tell that these are handmade with love. I hope that there will be a variety of flavors and maybe a sauce for them in the future? Interior was really aesthetic. Service was super friendly! You can tell that they genuinely care about their customers. I wish we had the opportunity to try other pastry items. With time, hopefully they will be able to provide a wide variety of choices throughout the day. Will definitely have to return to give other food items a try. Come check them out!

We were disappointed in Tango Pastry.  The location is convenient although the parking garage can be a little tight.  They have nice outside seating and fun inside seating and the service behind the counter was friendly.  That's the good news.  The bad news is that, seeing the name had the word pastry in it, we went there looking for dessert.  There wasn't much.  The display cases were small and strangely empty for lunch time.  It seems like they are trying to do a little of everything - empanadas, a couple of pastries, coffee, happy hour.  The digital signs out front seemed to cycle through a wide range of options, too quickly to really read through, but, once inside, there wasn't that much from which to choose as the empanada case was also pretty empty.  We decided to try the quince pastry and the dulce de leche pastry.  There was only the media luna and it looked pretty plain.  Once we ordered, there were only two of those, no more dulce de leche pastries and maybe two quince tarts - again - very, very low inventory.  We ate the pastries at home and found them to be pretty dry.  All in all, disappointing.  I don't think we will return even though the staff was nice.

Fantastic Argentinean Pastry and Empanadas place. New in DC H Street location offers an authentic Argentinean inspired spot that is welcoming to all. Service is excellent, prompt and efficient

Beware beverages past their best due dates. My kids were treated to this rancid chocolate milk which was multiple weeks past it's due date. The staff seemed nonchalant about it and didn't bother checking the rest of their beverages. The food looked very promising as did the lattes we ordered. But alas! They were barely average. The best part was the ambiance which was super clean and cozy, hence 2 stars and not 1. Will are go back there? Nope!

Customer service was on the same level as the pastries...amazing!! We got the Factura Vigilante and Empanada Ham & cheese. The factura vigilante was sweet and flaky. The empanada was filled very well, full of flavor, crispy, soft, and came with a chimichurri dip. The ambiance was modern with an Argentinian spin. Would definitely recommend coming here again and again!

Really enjoyed a rainy day visit to Tango Pastry. The shop itself is a bit hard to find if you blinked and missed it on the corner of Liberty Lane and Maple Ave W. Your best bet is actually to make the turn onto Liberty and then into the parking garage for the Sunrise Care facility that has designated "Cafe Visitors" parking signs. The entrance is on Maple Ave (no need to enter the Sunrise facility - no tour required to get to the cafe). Tango is brightly lit and you are warmly greeted when you enter, there are several tables and counter seating that faces Maple Ave inside the shop. I enjoyed a mate cocido (which comes with milk - they do offer almond and oat in terms of non moo juice options). Hubby had a coffee and alfajor (the large one, duh) which he enjoyed. The alfajor pastry was a bit crumbly, but he enjoyed it overall. The mate was weak even though it came in a tea pitcher that contained the yerba leaves and they were soaking for a good while. The rest of the pastries did look very legitimate (from my days living in Argentina), and we will definitely be back to try the empanadas. I was impressed from an ADA perspective with the door width on the bathroom, but please do watch out when you go in, the light switch is on the opposite side side of the room and it's dark, so make sure you walk across the room, and press the button on the left before heading towards the toilet otherwise you will be 'in the dark'. Literally. Enjoy the Argentine treats. It was a great taste for me that I hadn't had in quite a while!

They look like "Facturas" but are not.

This is not a reflection of Argentinian cuisine. It's an embarrassment. Low quality, stale and expensive. Anyone not familiar with Argentine pastry will believe this a reflection on the country, which couldn't be further from the truth.

When I first came into this Cafe I could just smell the amazing pastries I had to try some. I got this Custard Pastelra and it was amazing, the custard was so smooth and delicious. I Also got a spinach and cheese Empanada, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING goes so well with coffee. The customer service was Amazing and Mr.Charan was so Sweet and Very Cheerful. Im so glad to have come by and will definitely be here again!!!

This cafe is located in Vienna, and there's plenty of free slanted parking in front as well as parking in the complex next to and across if you're willing to walk. I've been to this location when it first opened years ago and they've really upped their menu and decorations inside since. The ambiance inside is beautiful, ideal for anyone looking for a good Instagram picture. There's so many angles and details so that no matter where you're sitting, there's a good vibe. There's also gorgeous seating outside since it can get crowded. For food, you order from the front and they'll call you when the food is ready. We ordered the dubai gelato and pistachio lokmas. Both were presented tastefully to make sure our eyes and cameras wanted to eat before our stomachs. The dubai gelato was a quality dessert with a good ratio of milk: cream. The pistachio flavor was evident on top, but it was just a kinda tart vanilla ice cream with toppings. I did like it, however, and it paired well with the lokmas. The lokmas were fried to perfection, a nice amount of chewy, and covered with a good ratio of pistachio cream. They were a decent size and conducive to sharing. The prices of everything, overall, was pretty expensive, but the quality definitely made up for it. I'd recommend this cafe to someone looking for a unique sweet treat, catching up with a group of girl friends of 2-4 people, or for a first date!

Amazing service and the strawberries were perfection and saucy and yum. TONIGHT ugh. The stars are for the delightful service (every employee I've encountered there has been lovely). Tonight I went to order the Dubai strawberries-- very UNcheap-- and I glanced into the glass box with the berries. It was foggy and whatever. So I ordered. I waited. I was serviced PRE-PREPARED strawberries! Terrible! So, I didn't notice that the berries were already prepared (foggy glass). And I took them home without noticing, because covered in kataifi and crushed pistachio. And wow. Disappointment. Deeeeeeply unenjoyable. Had I noticed they were already made, no way. I've seen them like that at Bakery Museum and I absolutely will not purchase. I'm sorry I don't have proof of the excellent berries I was served last year. But I don't have a need to go back again. Whomp.

FOOD/DRINK: 4/5 SERVICE: 5/5…read moreEXPERIENCE: 4/5 I came here after a doctor's appointment to try to wait out the rain and get caffeinated after hearing so much about this place. The barista helped us out with any questions and was very kind. It was super cozy. The seating was extremely comfortable and I can see myself being here for a while. There was some cute merch too. The place was decorated with colorful posters of the outdoors, which followed the decor of what was in the rock climbing gym upstairs. Speaking of upstairs, you have to use the rock climbing gym's bathroom and the elevator was out of order. It wasn't a short jaunt either to go up the stairs (lol) so this was a bit inconvenient, which made us have to leave earlier than we wanted to. My husband is disabled and it would be difficult for him to use the bathroom upstairs without the elevator working - and there was no ETA on when it'd get fixed. This is an ADA violation to not have an accessible bathroom. FOOD/DRINK: They do have snacks and food to purchase but I did not get some this time around. I got the house special of an iced spiced demerara latte with oatmilk (rich, brown sugar, cinnamon syrup) - it was delightful and delicious. Just the right balance. Hubby got cherry lime espresso fizz (on the summer specials menu). He enjoyed it but I didn't particularly like it (too bitter imho). I couldn't see what brand coffee they used, which I like to know since there are certain brands that bother me. But this place didn't bother me. They do have non-dairy/alternative milk. I would come again if I were in the area but I wouldn't really seek it out. I've had better coffee but I've also had worse. Not sure if the hype lived up.

We decided to go to get a little snack and coffee to start the day before some errands. I got a vanilla latte, while he got a mocha latte. Both iced. I got almond milk and hubby got oat milk. I enjoyed the blend of coffee and flavor - not either one overpowering each other. I personally like a little more syrup but it wasn't undrinkable. The almond milk was a teeny bit woody. I'll get oat milk next time. The cashier helped us decided on what pastries to get (there wasn't any signage). I ended up getting a strawberry croissant that was so pretty - it even had some gold glitter on top! Perfect for cherry blossom season. It was flaky and not too sweet. Hubby got a cinnamon roll and they warmed it up for it so it was nice and gooey. It was a cute urban feeling cafe with great AC and comfy seating.
