This is my favorite place to tan! They have the best deals! The people that work here are so sweet, and make you feel special. They remember your name, and are very helpful. I've been a member of Tan Etc for several years now and this is hands down my favorite location. The manager (Stacy) always remembers my name and my tanning preferences. She's AWESOME! So much better than the typical salon girls that greet you without looking up from their cell phones. I like this place. It's always very clean. The ladies at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The monthly UV tanning is the best I could find in the area. It's really reasonable. I also like that I can put my account on hold if I know I'm going to be out of town or not tanning for some reason. I've had several different tanning memberships around the Austin area. Tan Ect. has been by far the best tanning salon I've had a membership at. Most salons sign you In and out, and typically see you as just another name signing in. The manager Stacy at Tan ect has always been amazing and hired great employees. No matter the day or time she always greets you with a smile and cares for you as a person, not just another person with a tanning membership. She's Very knowledgable in the beds and recommendations to get you the best tan according to your desires. Huge plus that The beds are always clean and ready upon arrival. I love this location. The manager, Candyce, is very accommodating. She greets each customer with a smile and is always willing to right any wrongs! I love the Versa Pro. The color is very natural and lasts for a good while. The facility is clean and the machines are in good working order. I think this is a reasonably priced tanning salon for what you get. The absolute worst tanning salon I've ever been to. The bulbs are crap!!!!!! For the last 4 years, I've tanned once every 7 to 10 days to keep up the shade I like to be. I am German and American Indian decent so when I'm white, I'm white but when I tan, I tan fast and super dark. I moved farther away from my usual tanning salon so I joined Tan Etc since they were couple blocks from my new house. The membership was about $30 a month for Level-1 and $44 to include all the other levels and a sign up fee of $30 with a 3-month commitment. At the other tanning salon I paid $18 a month for the Level-1 and I could cancel with a 30-day notice at anytime (no 3 month commitment there). So Tan Etc's was more expensive but the location was much more convenient. I first signed up for all the levels so I could try them all out. The first bed I tried out was their highest-level bed for max time of 12 min. There was so much dust under the acrylic that not only was it gross but that dust blocks the rays! So I complained and they suggested I use their Level-1 20 min bed since it had new bulbs. For 2 months I went just as often as I did at the other salon and guess what happen? I become as white as a ghost over the 2 months I was there!!!! I should've had the same results, right? When I complained to the girl working there she said I didn't come enough. But wait, that's all I ever did at the other salon for 4 years and my color was perfect. I always put the stickers on to watch the color difference and it completely faded away. I complained to the front desk and they were unpleasant and didn't care. (Oh don't forget you signed a 3-month commitment to them, why should they care? Probably cause they know they suck and they want to suck you from your hard earned money!) Not only have I wasted money but my super valuable time too! I have placed 3 calls last week to the salon manger and they are never in and they never called me back. So I went to the old salon that I use to tan at last week and bought one session and did their Level 1 for 20 min just as I did at Tan Etc for the last 2 months and I burnt so bad that I'm now peeling. Goes to show how weak the bulbs at Tan Etc really are! P.S. To Tan Etc. -I use to own a tanning salon from 1997-2005. I had 12 beds in my salon and the first high pressure bed in the state of Texas. I used a UV meter to always check my bulbs. Even when you buy new bulbs, sometimes they come in bad from sitting at the warehouse to long. The computer may say the bulbs are new with no hours on them because, duh, you've just reset the timer when you installed the new bulbs but the UV meter doesn't lie. Either your bulbs have been sitting to long or the bulbs you are buying are the cheap crap. I asked Tan Etc if they use a UV meter and they said no. I know that the yellow or the green hue bulbs are the lower rated, cheaper bulbs and the pink or the blue hue bulbs are the higher rated, more expensive bulbs. Tan etc uses the green hue bulbs. I suggest using the UV meter on your beds to insure the output is good and strong. My other salon that I use to visit uses the blue hue bulbs. Go figure what salon I'll be going back too now! P.S.S The sign up fee is so stupid. I never had that at my salon. I looked at it from the perspective of the client. They will never move over to your salon because the have to pay so much more to switch over so it's harder to attract new business. Especially when your prices are higher than you competition. By the way, I did edit the original writing since I did state the name of the other salon. I thought that was wrong so I changed it to " other salon", "usual tanning salon". read more

I have had a great experience with every visit to this tanning salon! The costs are affordable. The facility is kept clean and the staff is attentive and welcoming! These things are important to me, because I use to run a tanning salon. The girls are knowledgeable, and informative with lotion quality, explaining the spray tan and advising on how long to tan with new bulb intensity.
