How's the Josh? If you're not from India, you might not be familiar with this very popular bollywood movie dialogue. The meaning of this sentence is "how is the enthusiasm?" and I am not lying when I say my josh was pretty high when I decided to visit Tamasha after hearing about the place for MONTHS! For those who don't know, this is a modern Indian restaurant located in the Yonge & Davisville area. You'll be welcomed with snazzy bollywood music just as you enter and I've to say our server (Dikshant) went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the experience. The cocktail that I ordered was called Gulaboo (very apt name) because it didn't just look pink but also had a very refreshing taste of Rooh Afza mixed with vodka. We tried their tandoori wings and this was extremely flavourful and balanced with the right amount of spicy and smokiness. For main course, we had their dal makhni, chicken tikka masala and butter naan and we were very much impressed with the food quality and taste. The food is not spicy so even if you're someone who loves trying Indian food minus the spice, definitely check out this place because they really know what they're servin'!

Chicken biryani rice was uncooked and chicken was also hard. A part from chicken biryani all were tasty. Pani puri serving was good. Ambiance ok. Service ok. Washrooms available.

    Tandoori chicken momos
    Miss Lady ..

The menu is quite basic. Super overpriced. Had the chicken tandoori momos. They were not fried or boiled, but over roasted and stiff. Its flavoured on the outside but the chicken doesn't have the tandoori seasoning. They provide plain mayonnaise with it. A thick mint-cilantro raita would have made more sense. 8 momos for $18.07 was not worth what was received. $8 would have been more reasonable.. Came in the middle of the week at lunch time. It was dead, so lots of seating. It is not Muslim owned but they claim it is all halal and the meat is from A1. No public parking nearby so come by transit or you have to use a public parking about 5 blocks away. Green P street parking is limited and next to impossible to get a space. Cool interior design but the food is limited and nothing unique.

Experience/ambience: not great, could be better with some changes Food : delicious, but poor variety of ingredients in dishes Recommendation: will not frequent this place. May order take outs if craving for paneer and fries My first experience here was not great because of the super loud music! It was soooo loud that I could barely hear the person sitting right next to me. Food was delicious- especially the Methi Malai Paneer, Hakka Poutine. The sizzler was a little disappointing since it was too sour One big flaw: almost 90% of their vegetarian menu is dishes made of paneer or fries. So very little options excluding that

Tamasha - means spectacle in Hindi. And I can totally understand what they are going for. Indian tapas bar featuring Bollywood/Hip Hop dance parties on weekends! I think it's about time that Indian street food got a spotlight on bar menus. There is so much beyond sub-par tikka masalas and butter chickens that don't get featured nearly as much. Tamasha features a refined menu with some delicious Indian street food classics like gol gappa and chaat... with some fusions like the hakka poutine and momos. I personally felt the spice level could be elevated, but understand they are trying to cater to the mainstream. I would love it if they had a couple of house sauces and chutneys to add a dash of heat/spice to your taste. Most items are shareable and the prices + portions are very reasonable. The draft list is small, but it's decent beer. They have a house beer - The Stonewall, which unfortunately they ran out of when I visited. But for $5, definitely give it a shot! I was there on a Tuesday evening, and it was very quiet. Understandably so - they just opened. I hope they get more attention from the after work crowd. It's classy, with a hit of retro Bollywood... and overall, an excellent spot for indian snacks and drinks!

The food wasn't bad it just would have been nice if they brought what I ordered. Even when I cross checked on staff told me this was chicken Tika Marsala. Then when another member asked me if everything was ok. I pointed out having had this many times over that this is not chicken Tikal Marsala. It came sizzling on a platter like tandoori chicken. The service was polite but painful. When asking for a simple glass for my beer had to ask twice and wait 5+ minutes. When I asked for a. Glass of water. Given the fact it's 28 degrees sitting on a patio there was not a single ice cube in my drink. I definitely won't be back. They did NOTHING to make anything right.

To be honest, I was never a fan of indian food, but my buddy ordered this for me and I was shocked. I had the lamb roganjosh with biryani - the flavour was ridiculous ... naan was perfect, too. I'm now a certified indian food convert - will definitely be ordering from Tamasha again

The menu didn't indicate that the shrimp tacos costed $2 extra (this is indicated on their regular menu) so it came as a surprise on the bill. The restaurant is located downstairs and the space was larger than I expected it to be. They have a corner with a stage and looks like they have live music sometimes. Since we came when they just opened for the night and were their first customers/only ones there, there was only 1 worker who was doing stuff around the restaurant and was hard to get his attention sometimes. Location is convenient - just a couple mins walk from the subway station.

The restaurant is a lot more spacious than its outside would hint at. Their happy hour menu knocks a couple dollars off some of their regular menu items. I decided to go with the shrimp tacos and they were surprisingly good - I was expecting an average taco but it was yummy and I'd actually order it again. My one qualm is that on the happy hour menu, it doesn't indicate it, but the shrimp tacos are actually $2 more. I'd love to revisit on a night when they have a live music performance, to try more items off the happy hour menu.

I also ordered some take out: a funghi pizza, bruschetta & papardelle al boscaiola. Everything was so delicious! Sip is one of our favourite restaurants because the food is always good & it's not overpriced. The Tagliatelle was perfectly cooked and the bolognese sauce so yummy. Hubby enjoyed the charcuterie board. And the nutella pizza is a little messy but still delicious. At home I shared the bruschetta with hubby. I don't know how they get the pizza crust so thin. However they make their pizza I still think it's the best pizza I've ever had in Toronto. Service: We had a lovely lady serviing us. She has always been there when we have come in the past. She is so efficient & graceful too. The dishes came out quickly and we were soon eating. We came on Valentine's Day for lunch & it wasn't busy. Ambiance: The restaurant was decorated for Valentine's Day with red balloons. It was pretty but if you're going to the bathroom (which is downstairs) I had to duck so the ribbons didn't get in my hair. The restaurant has a cozy & comfortable vibe. But at the same time it's classy. The lower level can be used as a private room. I've seen families holding celebrations down there. The washrooms are clean & well maintained. I would definitely come back here again for a meal. It's too bad it's on a side street. It would probably get more attention. I think the food at Sip is better than Grazie actually, which is also nearby.

We ordered Sunken Island (tasted like piña colada, Nijikai (good infusion of Japanese drinks together), and proper pimms cup (easy to drink, exactly as the menu describes it). Also ordered the LC nachos, large amount that was easy to share amongst our group of 6. What to know: they have food from la carnita (whom are attached upstairs). This review is based on free-flowing appetizers and drinks, which, as we all know, is the best way to experience anything. The decor is standard Firkin pub meaning cozy, British, and featuring the signature Union Jack couch that I unfortunately neglected to take a picture of as there was an event photographer. For a British-style pub, my only real complaint is the cider selection. As someone who isn't a Strongbow fan, I was hoping for a nice local option, but the choices were slim. I happily pivoted to a perfectly pleasant Malbec, so I was okay in the end. The service was surprisingly excellent. Our party had about 30 people, and although there was another large group there at the same time, the staff was on it. Our waitresses kept us well-stocked with appetizers and managed to get drink orders filled with impressive speed. For those taking transit, it's incredibly accessible and just a five-minute walk from Rosedale station on Line 1. I can't speak to the parking situation as I didn't drive, but I didn't notice any garages on my walk from the subway.
