The menu is overwhelming as it lists every possible combination of Mexican food you can imagine. As an Albuquerque native, it's great having a Mexican-comfort food kind of restaurant to go to. I've ordered dozens of tamales to bring to parties and functions and they are always a hit! You can tell the staff here is close-knit. They work very hard. The prices and hours at this place are unbeatable. The space is a bit of a dive and the location doesn't make you feel too good about hanging around at night. But I could say that about a lot of places.... So this place can count on my business! read more

If I could give a Zero I would. I was going to this location 3x a week to get bf Burritos. $15 plus tip each time. I always call in my order so I can just run in and pay and leave. This morning I tried for 20 min to call in my order. No answer. I had just hung up the phone as I parked so when I walked in the first thing I did was look to see if they were slammed. There was one person in the lobby waiting for her order and the drive thru had 3 cars. When I got into the lobby I said I think something is wrong with your phone. The employee stated that she didn't feel like answering the phone and taking any orders. I said "this is not how you run a business". She said well I was busy and I don't care. She then became very rude to me and acted like I was now putting her out somehow. I was appalled at how I was now being treated. I asked if there was a manager and she told me NO! I asked her for her name as I planned on calling in later to complain and she refused to give me her name. She then said do you want anything rudely. I said NO and walked out. I will never go back here again. I can not believe that a business would treat anyone like this and especially someone who was a regular customer. I will be going to Santiago's next door or anywhere else other than Tamale Kitchen for now on. Tamale Kitchen just lost $45 bucks a week from me. read more

I ordered the taco salad to go, it took a long time to make but the worst is when I got home I opened the boxes and there was NO TACO BOWL. Just the stuff that went in it. I was very dissatisfied and very upset. The girl at the counter seemed very bored and the other girl seemed more interested in the boy that came in to chit chat with her while ignoring customers. The beans here are perfect. I would definitely recommend getting the steak taco plate. The enchilada sauce is way too spicy for my taste, and they don't offer a less spicy option. The tamales are kind of hot too. The green chili, even the mild, is so freaking hot. If you want true Mexican flavor without a crap ton of spiciness, the taco plates are the way to go. For comparison, I think Taco Bell "Fire" hot sauce is bearable. read more

Been going since 1995. Longer waiting in line and food quality has gone down but prices keep going up. Waits are longer in newer building then they were when they were next door. Food seems more rushed with less flavor. Heat and good chili in sauce has gotten worse. Sauce has more of a tomato taste than green chili. Catering to gavachos...Use to go everyday...Due to taste and price have to turn to Chubbys or even across the street at Morenos. Sad . read more

This place is really starting to go downhill I'm not too sure what's going on but last week I went to order beans and chile and the beans were full of grease it was literally spilling out of the container and made such a mess and were so greasy we had to throw them Away Tonight I went to get an extra hot smothered bean, potato and chicken burrito deluxe with onion on top and they put a ton of onions inside the burrito....and on top...that has never happened before but being someone who loves onions I don't love onions inside my burrito. This was weird and I thought maybe it might have been done on purpose...it was so oniony that I couldn't even eat it. I went into the restaurant with my kiddo 2 weeks ago and the gals working the front were pretty rude, no smiling just kind of there to take our money but no real customer service...it was actually kind of disturbing. A month ago I ordered a handheld special burrito wth beans and potatoes no eggs and they forgot the potatoes and added eggs!! My whole family has loved tamale kitchen for years but as of late things have really changed and it makes us not want to go back because something bad always seems to happen. I tried calling 6-7 times to get a hold of a manager but no one even answers the phone it just rings, then goes to voicemail...so I had to write a review instead. Came here on Christmas Eve to get our traditional tamales. My go to place was sold out so I decided to give Tamale Kitchen a try. !!!RIP OFF LIARS!!! I WILL NEVER RETURN!! We ordered 2 burritos and chili cheese fries in the drive through. We added extra cheese to both burritos and sour cream and beans to one. When we got home there were "trace" amounts of beans and I mean they were undetectable with the tongue. And no extra cheese at all. We called they said sure bring the food back and we will take care of it. "I don't live close" so I stop eating my food bring it back the next day and they say "we watched the camera footage in the kitchen and we know the food is made properly" what happened to customer appreciation and good service!?!?! You mess up some food you fix it! I hope you read this whoever owns this store. You just lost thousands of dollars in repeat sales we love your food! Love this restaurant in my neighborhood! The soft chicken tacos are great protein after a workout.

I ordered carne asada fries, then waited around 20 minutes plus, while people with more simple orders got theirs first. Then, I got something that was closer to chili cheese fries, which was something on the menu at a Mexican restaurant of all things. Also, it wasn't even that big for the price. They used a styrofoam box used for a tostada or a hot dog. Naturally, I addressed my concern that I got the wrong order, but the DACA teenager staff brushed it off like nothing was wrong, and continued to look at their smartphones with a full busy drive thru. Tamale Kitchen in Northglenn is a big rip off. The pricing is deceptive. They have one price on the menu but when you get to the window is is more expensive than advertised. When asked about it all the worker said was that the menu is wrong and prices have gone up. The food was dry and not even good at all. I would not recommend! read more

I live 2 minutes away, so this place was always a favorite. Especially the $2 AM burritos. I'm vegetarian and always order them without meat, and I love that the green chili is veg friendly. The last 3 times I went there was a piece or two of bacon, almost felt like it was a "trick" that meat eaters like to do to us on occasion and it's been a lil annoying. While, I have nothing negative to say about the quality of the service or the timeliness of my order I just wasn't impressed with their food. Usually stop here on my way home from our bi-weekly poker game up north at a friend's house. So nice that they are open 24 hours on the weekends so one doesn't have to stop at the chain fast food places!!! Same family as the other two locations which delivers the same food. I usually grab a dozen tamales to take home as well as a burrito for the drive home and have never been disappointed. They have red, green, veggie and jalapeno/cheese tamales which are all tasty. The green is a tad hotter than the red while the veggie ones are mild but flavorful and the jalapeno/cheddar are too hot for your average person but I love their flavor! Enchiladas are decent as are other menu items. Definitely an acquired taste and some aren't going to like the flavors or the heat but it works great for me! And it's cheap!!! read more

I've only had the breakfast burritos here and they are delicious! You get your choice of meat. I go with bacon almost every time. If you come before 9am they only cost $2 after runs between $3-$4 still not too bad considering they are big. The green chili has good flavor and it isn't too spicy. It's perfect for breakfast or a late night snack. The drive thru is open til 10pm but on Friday and Saturday they are open 24 hours. Write that down. I haven't had the temales yet (shame on me) but people I know rave about them. Haven't been awhile since I've moved away from the area but I recommend it for anyone who lives near by. read more

Food is great! Customer service is HORRIBLE!! Waited 15 minutes for our food which is fine but then an additional 15 for coffee which was water down SHIT! The cashier was rude asking what was wrong with my order uh I didn't receive the drinks I ordered and PAID for I originally asked for my money back since the coffee wasn't even made yet but I get it they were busy and I decided to wait and give them the benefit of the doubt. Never again! This place use to be great but slowly going down hill each time I go is a bit worse. Better training is needed in the customer service department seriously!!! I've worked 5 years in Customer service I get it! I should have been given my money back as requested and not forced to take the watered down nasty ass coffee.
