Really enjoyed coming here for dinner when I was staying at an Airbnb near the Cougar Hot Springs. The staff were very friendly with lots of charming Christmas decor! I also really enjoyed my food which was a BLT on focaccia bread. There was a variety of side options but opted for tator tots. Definitely recommend eating here and checking out the gift shop!

Prime Rib Daily Special

Very much a local gem loved by many! During my visit to Oregon, this spot was probably my most memorable dining experience. We sat outside because it was nice out, but the inside was very cozy. For food, I tried the prime rib daily special, marionberry cobbler, and a combination pizza to-go. Everything was pretty good! I will say the prime rib was more of a beef stroganoff which was a little disappointing, but it was a comforting meal and rather filling. Couldn't leave Oregon without trying marionberry, so I got the cobbler! I liked the vanilla ice cream and the warm, sweet, and tart cobbler. It was delicious but a little too sweet for my taste. The combination pizza was delicious and held up well for takeout! This is a family owned restaurant that's been open for quite a while now. I was lucky enough to meet one of the owners! She was so sweet and personable. Everyone who served or interacted with us were nothing but nice. Such a wonderful spot!

Post Covid menu is back in action, which means they have my beloved Mac and cheese again. This is my favorite thing in the menu and I get it once a trip. This time they had marionberry cobbler for dessert. Marionberries were fresh and delicious. The cobbler was more like a cake though (no crumble insight). Overall still good! For lunch I also enjoy the tuna melt, which is simple but hearty. Service is still very good. One complaint/request - pleeaaaase bring back breakfast!!!!!

My only complaint about Takoda's is that I didn't discover it sooner! I've driven by it a million times and never stopped. I'm not even sure where I saw it talked about recently, but I wanted something different than Ike's Pizza on my way up the McKenzie. My husband and I stopped in here last night on our way back from Sahalie Falls. Side note, it was still snowed in and we couldn't stop. So we turned around and headed to Takoda's to grab dinner. We were immediately greeted and given the choice to sit inside or outside. I'm sooooo glad we picked outside because it was absolutely gorgeous and the weather was perfect. It was such a relaxing dinner. Our server, I didn't get her name, was fabulous. Super friendly and attentive. Checked on us at all the right intervals, and made sure we had everything. We ordered mozzarella sticks to start with, I had the prime rib French dip, and my husband had the Sasquatch burger. I may never poop again from the sheer volume of cheese I ate, but I can live with that because it was so delicious. My sandwich had the most amazingly well toasted bread, so it soaked up all the delicious au jus when dipped. My husband's burger was over cooked for my taste, but he didn't request a specific temperature on it, and their menu says they go for medium-medium well unless otherwise specified. But the fried egg on it was legit. The yolk was perfectly runny. I'll be the first to admit that I judge every restaurant on their French dip sandwiches and how well they cook an egg on a burger. And I am always irritated if either is less than perfect. I was so happy that both were completely perfect here. Add in the perfect scenery, and it made for the most amazing and relaxing dinner I've had in a very long time. Would I return? Yes, yes, and most definitely yes! I'm already looking forward to going back. Plus, since Sahalie Falls was snowed in, I have a reason to go. I'm still just irritated that I hadn't taken the time to stop in here before. But I'll make up for that with return visits.

Lots of great beers on tap! The pizza was great. I ordered the garden but added green peppers, regular tomatoes and mushrooms. The crust was very tasty. Other items at our table were Shepard s Pie (yum) and a turkey sandwich (yum). The highlight was the marrionberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The patio is lovely....with a waterfall and pond. I also loved the little shop upstairs.

Macaroni and Cheese, with a chocolate porter.

One of my absolute favorites spots. I love the lodge feel and the food is fantastic. The service is spot on and being out on the McKenzie is epic. Especially with a boat of the best Macaroni and Cheese, ever...and a Chocolate Porter. I always come back.

First thing I have to say I am a salad bar gal and this salad bar has all my favorites. I was so hungry that I was excited to make my salad we had not been here for awhile , I did not take a picture of the salad bar but this is a place that we've been coming to for a while. I just never have taken a picture and i will next time. Last time we were here they served breakfast, but I don't believe they serve breakfast anymore. I got the one time salad bar and soup of the day which was a beef stew. The beef stew was good. It was a little Barothy, which was nice because I had been camping so that hit the spot, hubby got the BLT it was delicious lots of bacon and then you can get side salad for five dollars the sandwiches you could definitely share the service was spot on Thank you for taking such good care of us decor super cool. They have a bunch of different knickknacks and goodies and fun stuff that you can look to buy . We will be back and wait so long to go back . This restaurant gets pretty busy so I was a little leery on doing this review because of such a gem but always for supporting small businesses.

Lemon cheesecake blueberry cheesecake, so rich and creamy!

Everything went well from start to finish! Our server was Jovie, and she greeted us promptly. She had waters out within 1 minute of us sitting down. My husband and I had tator tots as an appetizer, and then we shared the ribs and Ja Ha jack burger (jalepeno pepper jack cheese burger). My son ordered a pepperoni pizza off the kids menu. The burger was well flavored and not overly seasoned, and the jalepenos were fresh which added a nice crunch to the bite. The ribs fell off the bone as we picked them up, and I don't know what was in the sauce/marinade, but it had a deep rich fruity flavor that is unforgettable! Asparagus and loaded mashers also took a win! As if we werent already stuffed after dinner, we decided to share a buffet of their desserts, we shared the lemon cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, brownie sundae, and marionberry cobbler. Needless to say we couldn't finish it all, but we're very pleased with both our service and our food. Shout out again to our server who made our night very special and gave us awesome attention and service. Very kind with a great smile. I'll end with this, I've never left a review before, but I specifically downloaded this app to leave this review just for her, because it was that great! Best meal I've had in months!

If you've read some of my recent posts, my wife and I have been taking short day trip hikes to…read morelocal waterfalls. This was a trip to the Sweet Home, Oregon area to hike McDowell Creek Falls. (Highly recommend the falls hike). On our way, we stopped at The Point, just outside of Sweet Home. Not much to look at from the outside and kind of a diner atmosphere inside. Somewhere, I read you had a "view" to the water. As you can see from the picture, it's a view (sort of) to Foster Reservoir. OK. However, the food and service were surprisingly good! I ordered the special of the day, a Chipotle Burger. Cooked perfectly with 1/3 lb local beef patty, bacon, chipotle sauce, lettuce, red onion and accompanied by some very good fries. My wife had the grilled cheese and it was awesome as well. Her only complaint was it had too much bacon. Yes, you heard that right, too much bacon. I also have been trying NA beers and the only brand I have found I like is Deschutes out of Bend. They had a Golden that I hadn't heard of and it was, in true Deschutes fashion, very good. Our server was Becky and she was amazing. She greets the regulars by name, was very helpful and informative, but not too chatty. If we were in this area again, we would definitely go back. Without hesitation. Great find!

Gorgeous view for sure Hibiscus mimosa: cute looking drink…read more Not very memorable in flavor. It's mimosa. Deep fried pickle: the crispy part is really good. Picke was shaved pretty thin. But most of them is floppy under the top layer Umami chicken wings: more of a sweet spicy flavor. Kinda like buffalo mix sweet-spicy sauce. Not my preferred flavor Bread is huge and warm Clam chowder is hot and heart warming Pork bucco: very big chunk of pork shank. Super tender and a bit smoky. Pesto Flavor is simple but effective. Maine Lobster and jumbo prawn fettuccine: surprisingly a whole tail of lobster and several big shrimp. Unfortunately the lobster is way over cooked. Feels like I'm eating rubber and stuck in my teeth. Flavor is good though. Very creamy. Marianberry cobbler: warm and sweetsour flavor. Pretty dense and good amount. Waitress is very nice and helpful.
