It has been 3 years... THREE YEARS!! I'm sitting here, at another cafe, and as I often do I'm speaking to my partner about the amazing food we had at Vida Cafe. I have yet to walk into another cafe and have such a lasting impression. I've been to The French Laundry, which is upscale and boujee, fabulous nonetheless, and designed to do exactly what Vida cafe has done to me: leave you wanting more. I miss you Vida Cafe. It was a small place and obviously well loved! Unfortunately, there wasn't much on the menu for vegans. That made our choices pretty limited, and I found the menu confusing. There's something on the menu about how you can and can't split certain plates, and we didn't read the whole menu. We ended up getting coffee and cider and I thought both were watery :| the waitress we talked with was sweet though I liked her. Hope they add a vegan option! read more

I did not expect the food to be this good, all cafes I've been too were decent. But here is the best cafe I've ever eaten at! This is an extremely convenient place to grab a bite in the morning, on the way to the ski hill. The dining room is small, so plan to arrive early for seating. They also make orders to go. The staff is very friendly & communicative. I ordered the McKenzie Scrambler - a delicious layered combo of bisquits, scrambled eggs, a healthy layer of sausage gravy, and a couple sausage links on the side. Definitely gave me plenty of energy for a full day on the slopes! Plenty of parking out front, and conveniently located across the highway from the town gas pump. read more

Cute little restaurant in Vida, Eugene. The staff were super friendly and attentive! The food were delicious! Highly recommend the Chicken Steak and Eggs. Everything was great! We just moved to the area and live this place! The owner, Kelly came out to greet us as we drove up and let us know that there was no seating inside but it wouldn't be long. We sat and waited outside on the tables they have provided. Love the laidback stress free environment. Their coffee was great and the food was phenomenal. I had avocado toast with a perfectly cooked egg over easy. The fruit was fresh and presentation was spot on. We finished with a lemon marrionberry pie. The crust was so flaky and good. They has a cocktail list that looks great....I can't wait to come for lunch to try them out. We will definitely be back. read more

I stumbled upon this place after me and my roommates went to Cougar Hot springs. I'm a college kid missing home and the comfortable and homey vibes of this cafe were top tier. I got a half order or biscuits and gravy with a fried egg and bacon. The egg and bacon was cooked to perfection. the gravy was godly. The service was fantastic. If I could give it 10 stars I would. It's a shame it's an hour away from where I live! read more

Absolutely loved this small but very cozy cafe in the Town of Vida. Stopped here for a quick breakfast with my wife and our 1yr old and had a great time. Do you ever just crave that smell and taste of a home cooked burger but when you go out to a fast food chain, it doesn't taste just right? Well, look no further than coming to get that at Vida Café. This little restaurant is along a main street heading into Vida but can be easily missed. The day we went, it wasn't busy at all but from what my fiancé's sister says, it gets super busy after church on Sunday's, so I guess we lucked out! Upon walking into the café, it has a nice quaint feel to it. Looking at the walls, it has a little history of their café and pictures of events that happened there. The dessert menu is placed on the wall as well and the menus were brought out to us. The staff is extremely nice, the food is amazing and for a little small café, it packs an extreme punch! My fiancé got the burger, his sister got a grilled cheese and I got the BLT. As the waitress was bringing over his burger, you can smell the juiciness coming right out of it! It has the smell and taste of homecooked food, reminding me of summer BBQs in the backyard with friends and family. His burger simply tasted amazing and it was so simple. My BLT had an amazing bite to the sourdough bread, the bacon was nice and crispy, the tomatoes and lettuce were fresh and crisp. I haven't had a homemade BLT like that in a long time. His sister's grilled cheese was great too. When she bit into it, there's that crunch from the bread and the cheese melted ever so smoothly. To top it all off, we all shared a blackberry cobbler. OH. MY. GOODNESS. You can tell that cobbler was homemade and topped off with some ice cream. Something about having homemade cobbler after a burger or sandwich really just polishes off the meal. All in all, when we come back to town, we will be coming here again! read more

Vida Cafe was our favorite spot to have brunch at on our vacation. We stopped by three times and their service was incredible. Kellie was super attentive, friendly and remembered us by greeting us with a beautiful smile every time. You can tell she cares about her customers by remembering little details of their order, for example that I loved gravy with my Chicken tenders. The food was delicious everything tasted home cooked, very well presented but overall it will leave you wanting to come back again. Well we stopped by yesterday morning on our way home to Bend from a R&R trip to the Coast. We were blessed with great weather. As always we were greeted as if we were family. Thank you. Yumm yumm, what a gem on the way in/out of Springfield in the small community of Vida. This place burned down some years ago and they came back stronger than ever. The place is small, maybe 15 tables. They serve breakfast all day. But we shared an excellent club sandwich on sourdough, fries and topped it off with the recommended 3 berry pie. The Vida Cafe has been one of my favorite places to eat when I'm up in the McKenzie River area. When the Cafe suffered a major fire there were fears that they may not reopen their doors. Fortunately, after some time they rebuilt & reopened their doors. They kept the same layout so it isn't much different inside & fortunately many of the great pictures that adorn the walls weren't damaged in the fire. They still make the same great burgers, breakfasts, dinners, & pie. Everyone should stop and eat at this historic and favorite Cafe along the McKenzie Highway. read more
