    Augusta Roll

I stumbled upon Tako Sushi while walking around Main street and decided to try it out. It was an awkward time of day between lunch and dinner, so they weren't very busy. They had a few outdoor tables with umbrellas for shade, which is where I sat. For drinks, my server mentioned they had mocktails, but the menu didn't feature any. I told her anything refreshing would be fine, and the bartender ended up making me an improvised drink with mango and lime. It was a little too sweet for me, but still very tasty, and the presentation was cute. For food, I ordered the Southwest Salmon Tartare and Augusta Roll. The Southwest Salmon Tartare was a generous portion size for an appetizer and came served with a basket of tortilla chips. The salmon tasted fresh, but the amount of sriracha mayo was a bit excessive. The Augusta Roll was simple and tasty - not bad, but not super memorable either. Service was fast and friendly, and pricing was reasonable!

Spicy salmon, Kevin's crazy roll and volcano roll. Fresh; tasty; quick to bring to our table.

I didn't realize this place was open after 7pm on the weekends. I was craving sushi and this place hit the spot for our date night. We enjoyed 3 rolls, seaweed salad (add soy sauce for more flavor) and a veggie rolls. It was fresh and sooo good! Service was fast, including cleaning off an area for us to sit. We drank pineapple spicy margarita and he had a pineapple martini - only empty glass pics lol!

Do you want Tacos? Sushi? Why not both? TakoSushi does exactly that. They feature a solid sushi menu next to a solid list of tacos. They've got all the apps from both sides that you'd expect like potstickers & queso. And they also feature an interesting array of cocktails. Food-wise they do things a bit more upscale, so you can expect a higher price tag but the quality is there. I've tried their sushi and tacos and have to say that both are about equally as good. This location is right next to Lowes Foods and has both indoor and outdoor seating so the location is pretty solid with tons of parking. This is the spot to go if you're game to try some interesting fusion. Price per person: $$ Food: 4 Service: 4 WOW Factor: 4

I came to Takosushi for a Valentine's Day dinner. The food was so good, especially the miso soup. I also got their Augusta roll, which tasted amazing and is perfect if you love tuna. The staff was very friendly, and our server,, even though she was new, was really sweet. The reason this isn't 5 stars is just the wait time. I waited a decent amount of time for my sushi roll and watched my friend eat her noodle bowl.

I went with a few of my friends and we called ahead to accommodate a group of 5. We arrived a few minutes early and waited to be seated. It took 15 minutes to get us seated, when there was only one other single diner in the restaurant. The service was terribly slow. We each ordered a drink, a taco/app, and a sushi roll. Each drink, app, and sushi roll came out individually over the course of about an hour. We saw other people come in after us and get their food first. The food was good but the sushi was small and should not have taken an hour to come out. The poor waiter forgot 2 of our drinks and also struggled to use his mobile check out device. We were there for a total of a hour and a half and it wasn't very busy at the time.

Ordered sushi for take out; however, was not impressed by the quality of the fish. The tuna was flavorless :/

Let me start off by saying I attending the grand opening on Forest Dr. so this review reflects this location. The location is easy to get to and the decor for the grand opening was cute! I was greeted warmly and joyously when I entered and even received a 1yr reward for free queso and dip for being one of the first 25 customers! The decor on the inside is elegant and modern. It is on the smaller side than I imagined it to be. The bar is center which is a nice set up because the decor and seats set off a nice atmosphere but is casually enough for lunch or after work drinks or eating. My waiter was so sweet and nice. One Easter even found crayons and paper for my sons to draw with while we waited for our food! Anything I wanted to know she was happy to ask the manger or other staff. I ordered the shrimp shumai(dumplings) the Susan roll, fries and a Mai Tai cocktail which was good! The fries were on the softer side but I know next time to ask for fried hard. The seasoning on them was good though! The sushi was good. Nothing spectacular but still good! My MIL ordered the tacos and she said they were good! So I'll definitely be back when I crave sushi and want a good drink. Definitely getting the burger next time because they highly recommended it.

This was our first time at their new location. We went often when they were off of Assembly. Without a doubt my favorite thing to order here is the tempura asparagus. They come in a little boat and is loaded with the Takosushi sauce, which really sets it off! Our entrees were the chicken stir fry and the firecracker shrimp. Both came with rice. I loved that my rice had some of the Takosushi sauce on it. The stir fry was full of vegetables and was very flavorful. My husband enjoyed his firecracker shrimp. He particularly likes the sauce. When went on a Monday evening and it was not busy at all. We were seated immediately and the customer service was excellent. Will definitely visit again for a drink and the tempura asparagus!

Sushi is quite average. Portion size on the other hand is absolutely horrible for the price. A small roll for $16?

I live in Columbus and haven't had the options like CO has. We shared a green papaya salad, and it was delicious! I would eat an entire bowl by myself. Don't forget to tear up the basil - it completes the flavor! We got the Lotus, Lemon, Firecracker, Sesame and Pork Belly sushi rolls. That is the order I would rank the rolls in flavor. It is a shame if anyone uses shoyu (sou sauce) or even wasabi when eating these rolls. The lotus has a rice paper wrap (for those who don't like seaweed) and an aioli on top that was so refreshing and flavorful. The lemon was honestly a very close second - maybe even a tie for first. I don't normally like salmon but it was so fresh and the lemon slice was refreshing and clean!

My son and I were greeted by our server soon upon arriving to our table. We came to dinner around 8pm on a Monday night, so the dining room wasn't very busy. Our server was polite and took our order at our pace with no issues. We like to stagger our orders when we go out to eat. That way, we're enjoying every plate we share that comes out without a rush. We ordered the Salmon Carpaccio to start, but then their Yellowtail Jalapeño came out to our table instead. It was disappointing to see, but then our server came out shortly and apologized. She also made sure to make our appetizer "on the house" for our troubles. This is a gesture I appreciate coming from one service industry gal to another; very professional and hard to find these days. Once the Salmon Carpaccio came out, we were very pleased with it and loved the notes of lemon zest and oil on the salmon sashimi. Next, we were eager to try something new so we asked about the "pressed sushi," on the menu and went with the salmon avocado sushi stack. To be honest, it was okay. It was literally salmon, rice and avocado pressed together and cut into little rectangular pieces. I'll give it to our server though because did tell us that's exactly what it was. Then we ordered the pan fried gyoza dumplings and the Cambodian Roll. The dumplings were disappointing. The flavor was just okay and it felt overpriced. I just know I could get those same dumplings elsewhere for cheaper, or that I would have better luck buying frozen gyoza dumplings and making them myself at home. However, the Cambodian roll was absolutely delicious! Bravo to whoever invented it! All of those flavors, textures and temperatures came together beautifully. It was unique and very satisfying. Lastly, we finished with an ube cheesecake for dessert and it was a perfectly balanced ending to our meal.

The fried rice and chicken combo hits exactly the way you want it to: flavorful, slightly indulgent, and satisfying without being overly heavy. What really keeps me coming back, though, is the bar. The Suishaya Special in particular is strong--not just in a gimmicky way, but balanced enough that you actually enjoy drinking it while still feeling it. That's about what I though too. It was really weird because we went at 4:30 PM and there was no one in the restaurant. It said to wait to be seated. We stood by the counter for about ten minutes waiting to be seated in a completely empty restaurant. The staff working just kind of looked at us like we were lost. Anyway, ordered spring rolls and they were $5.50 for two pretty small ones. Also, very greasy. I got the Singapore Noodles with chicken. It was okay. I kind of felt like I could make it at home. My girlfriend got Philadelphia Sushi and Shrimp. She said they all tasted like it came from a grocery store. I agreed. Columbia has a lot of Sushi restaurants. I'd skip this one.

The drinks were blended very well and used fresh lime juice, which was nice. The appetizers -- the kimchi fries and the boneless wings were pretty standard. The fries were crunchy, but we felt like there was more cheese than there was kimchi and sauce, so we've had better kimchi fries elsewhere. The cheese was very gooey though. The boneless wings weren't as crunchy as they could have been, especially coming out in a stone dish, but the garlic soy sauce was still pretty good. Our mains were really good -- the japchae, which I ordered with fried tofu, had the right texture and flavor, and was delicious yet spicy. The tofu was a little bland though. My partner enjoyed the squid and pork belly dish and said that the sauce was similar to the japchae sauce. The portions were pretty normal and not too big, so we had a few leftovers but not too many. The prices were also pretty reasonable as well. Overall we were really happy with our food here and would come back if we ever visited again.
