Not a huge fan! I love the concept but the execution doesn't work for me. In some cases it can feel like a money grab. Ok, so they charge a waste fee of when you order too much. I completely understand this. But I asked about ordering one entree and if the entree isn't finished, you still pay a waste fee, but then you can take it home. That didn't sit well with me. Ordering one entree isn't being wasteful. You just might not finish it. But anyway, I didn't order an entree. I ordered spring rolls, and a few sushi rolls. The two spring rolls were good. The sushi is so small. Most were really dry. I wouldn't return. But my friend definitely enjoyed herself. The atmosphere is really nice and the establishment was clean. Recently had my second lunch at Red Sake. Hands down it is super deal if you like Sushi. Just for comparison, you can pick up a tray of sushi at a local grocery store, Sam's, or Costco and spend about $10. For ~$8 more, you can have an smorgasbord of salads, soups, Sushi, steak, egg rolls, etc. The variety of variety of choices is outstanding; the food is tasty and well prepared. We went to red Saki with a few friends and we really enjoyed it. Service was nice and quick and everything was fresh and delicious. I returned here for the all you can eat option better prepared this time. The restaurant was still loud and vibrant. The service was 100 times better this time which is surprising since the restaurant was much busier. I was shocked how quickly my rolls came out this time and as you can see the salmon was a familiar color this time. This is an AYCE sushi spot (but they also offer a la carte pricing) and very popular on the weekends. Sushi and noodles were solid, but service took a while. Order what you can when you can! They don't accept reservations. Prices can't be beat for all the food options though. Parking sucks, because the parking spaces are packed like sardines. So what made my experience mediocre? It was the staff. My friend and I got there around close to 9. There was a slight wait so we got seated at the bar. While seated, it was a good while before we even got our orders taken. It took so long that by the time our order was taken, the restaurant started to empty out and a two seater opened up, so we moved over from the bar. By the time our food came out, it was last call for order so we were able to get the order in, but my orders came out messed up or on the wrong plates. I've seen my waiter maybe three times max since I sat while I saw other waiters and waitresses frequently checking up on their table. The sushi here is delicious! This sushi is some of the best in the Columbia/midlands area, hands down. My son and I came here on one of our regular sushi dinner dates. We have now tried 9 sushi restaurants around here and counting. This one really hit the spot! All of the ingredients were fresh and they came together like a symphony of flavors with each peice we ate. My son loves Salmon sashimi so we ordered that too. Each peice of sashimi was $2.50 each. They were sliced beautifully thick and we were so pleased with that order, we ordered more sashimi after that. Our server was a very nice lady who took great care of us. She was friendly and informative of our menu. We liked her very much. The restaurant is big, with lots more seating than I expected. The bar is really nice looking, with all of it's design and lighting. I like how it is placed in the middle of the restaurant. We were only upset with how long it took for us to get our food, but it was packed. This place fills up quickly. We waited an hour and a half for our sushi, the server comes back up and says they are having an issue with their fryer. (Okay, fine.... But bring me the unfried sushi). The food is well prepared, and served in the normal fashion. The nigiri pieces are small compared to other sushi restaurants, but the rolls are of the same size. I assume they do this because it is an all you can eat, order at the table, no waste restaurant. They do charge by the piece for uneaten pieces. The servers are pleasant and kept our glasses full. The ambiance is a little off because the inside looks similar to a night club with a central bar and booth seating along the perimeter. I was out of town and came for take out. It's in a new building and the inside is very modern feeling. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes and it was ready in 15 min. That's some fast service! The prices of the sushi are very affordable! Unfortunately the sushi was not good at all. The Philadelphia roll had almost no fish in it and too much cream cheese. There was one piece that had no salmon in the roll. It was all cream cheese. The other roll I had was the crazy pepper roll. It doesn't say on the menu that the tuna is seared. Maybe I should assume bc it says pepper tuna on top, but I thought it would be raw tuna with cracked pepper. They have a cheap blow torch, all you can taste is gas. What causes this is incomplete combustion. It can be fixed with a tool called searzall. They get a star for being fast and inexpensive, but overall this place is awful. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! **Disappointing Experience at Red Sake** I recently visited Red Sake and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. First, the service was incredibly slow. It took a long time for our server (Alyia) to come back many times to the table and even longer to receive our orders. Our server only came back to deliver food and take the original orders. Did not check on us for water refills or anything else. We definitely felt ignored and unimportant during our visit. When the food finally arrived, it was disappointing. I ordered chicken and shrimp habachi, and it was lukewarm, my chicken tasted bland and had a rubbery texture. For the price, I expected much better quality. My dining companions ordered a variety of rolls, and it was equally underwhelming, as I don't think they have a good sushi selection and it was poorly displayed and tasteless. Additionally, the restaurant itself was not clean, restrooms were not clean, had trash on the floor, toilet paper sitting on top of the dispenser exposed paper on the floor. In addition to the table booths being dirty and from the looks haven't been clean for a long time. This all detracted from the overall experience. Took my bf here for his birthday. It's very casual. The all you can eat has rules, mainly having to do with food waste (charge per piece and for rice left behind). I never order food I don't plan to finish, but I was really nervous about the rules and charges knowing how picky I am. If the rice is dry, the fish is fishy, the sauce too saucy... I'm just not going to eat it. I usually end up at buffets just watching everyone else eat while I fiddle with a plate of grapes. My strategy was to order a little bit first with the first sushi order being something I knew I could pass off to my bf if I didn't like it. But I didn't need his saving! Bringing it back to the "sauce being too saucy". I read on yelp before hand to expect the sushi to be drenched in sauces (yuck!!!), so I wrote on each order "light on the sauce". It all came out as I hoped... until the crazy pepper tuna. The "Crazy Pepper Tuna" was one roll I had been anticipating- pepper tuna is my jam!! I was excited it was also labeled spicy! But it was covered - nay - DROWNED - in the sauce I asked for lightly. The sauce being some goopy syrup, I think eel sauce? It also had like Mayo on it. That's the crazy thing about it - it wasn't spicy or peppery, it was sticky, oily, and sweet. I tried to pawn the Crazy pepper tuna off on my bf, but it was too sweet even for his gourmand southern palette! Then I desperately tried scrape the sauce and dab it off, which took the pepper right off. Then I even re-peppered it using the table pepper shaker! Futile efforts. I'm sorry to that poor tuna. Fortunately, we weren't charged for its uneaten pieces, probably because we ate everything else. I feared the insane amount of sauce could be the chef's M.O. for covering up rotting fish, but no - it was all fresh when we went. Fresh and actually really good! My boyfriend and I ordered rockstar roll twice. Yelp really saved the day, because if I didn't know to ask for light sauce and all the rolls came out as saucy as the pepper tuna did, we would have spent hundred dollars putting food in the garbage. My family of four enjoyed dining here. We were seated promptly at 6pm. However when we left there was a wait. A table by us was told there was no seating at the bear, but we did note a couple was served at the bar. There are no draft beers, but they had plenty to choose from in a bottle. We had no issues with getting drink refills and felt our server was very attentive. Ordering was simple. We selected the items we wanted by placing a number (1, 2, etc servings) by each item. I recommend doing all requests at once as the food comes out as it is done being prepared. All the items we requested were delivered and correct. As mentioned they do charge for items left on the plate. That can add up, so be mindful. If your child orders chicken nuggets put a two by the box. They only serve two at a time. So we learned quickly to increase the requests. For our family of four, 2 adults. 12 year old and 8 year old our toys was around $120. read more
