Such a premium BBQ experience. This place is always fully booked and requires a reservation weeks in advance. Their meats are high quality and service is in par with fine dining. The service was fast and attentive overall. I got the dry aged rib eye, short rib galbi and iberico pluma, along with a plate of seasonal vegetables. The servers BBQ everything for us and every piece of meat was perfectly made. I also got the seafood pancake and the soybean stew on the side. They are great sharing sides but note that they are on the smaller side. Finished off our meal with a matcha strawberry bingsoo and it was so yummy. Very light, refreshing and love the jelly pieces in the middle. Overall, a great spot for premium BBQ. The service and food were top notch, but definitely on the pricier side.

Worth the premium! It's tough to justify an à la carte Korean BBQ restaurant when there are several high quality all you can eat versions available. However, Takja certainly is one that is notably superior and well worth the price premium. Located just west of Little Italy, this restaurant is located near several other quality restaurants and is bit out of place. Service was premium with a team approach where the team is interchangeable with respect to who grills your meat, clears the table or serve you other items. Wife and I had the hansang and added the spicy yukhwe and the dry-aged hiramasa Naengchae was an excellent start with fresh fish accompanied with a perfectly paired sesame dressing. Scallop, o-toro, Red Sea bream were very fresh. spicy yukhwe was a unique way of having tartare. The seafood crisps were fantastic and strong as they were coated on one side with popped rice and which might have been the best tartare base I've had. Tartare has gochujang flavour which did take away from the flavour of the tartare itself as I couldn't quite pick up the beer. That being said it was a unique twist on the dish. Seafood pancake with hokkido Uni was excellent. Well flavoured and the uni was great. I have to say I generally don't like seafood pancakes but this has to be my favourite of all time. Banchan variety was nice as there were several versions of kimchee as well as a selection of different lettuce for the meats including red lettuce, butter leaf, perilla leaf and endives. Dry-aged coppa was cooked beautifully with a perfect balance of char and juiciness. Frankly, the staff here are very good at this as every piece of protein was perfectly cooked and did maintain a good amount of tenderness and juiciness. Dry-aged wagyu striploin from Australia was nice but perhaps had a little too much of the dry-aged funkiness. Was still excellent though. A5 Miyazaki wagyu was heavenly and unctuous. Suggest having it wait just salt and wasabi. Variety or grilled vegetables included yam, mushroom; and broccolini. Grilled perfectly as well. Short rib galbi was excellently marinated and should be tried naked alone to start. Wild Greens Stone Pot Rice was surprisingly delicious. The vegetables imparted a nice umami-forward earthiness that was delightful. Dry-aged hiramasa was delicious and portions were big. Kudos to the staff for cooking this perfectly while avoiding havjng the fish break up which is easy to do while grilling. Matcha Strawberry Bingsoo was massive and delicious. Note that there are strawberry jellies at the bottom that you need to dig deep to get it. Overall this restaurant is fantastic and is now part of my rotation.

Truly enjoyed Takja's Hansang, a table full of food($135 per person) Started with cold seafood salad aka "Naeng Chae" Could not believe how they could bring up so much flavour to go great with seafood from pine nuts dressing. Unlike ceviche there was not much acidity, but it was creamy & delicious. Shrimp, tuna and scallops in the salad were super fresh. Seafood pancake was thick and crispy and Uni from Hokkaido went amazing with the savory pancake. They intentionally underseasoned pancake so it could go well with soy based dipping sauce. For the main course, there were 4 diferent meat served on the table; Short rib ( they add sauce just before they serve) & hangers steak from Guelph, ON, A5 Wagyu striploin from Miyazaki, Japan & Iberico Presa from Salamanca, Spain. My favorite was believe it or not pork from Spain. All the mests were carefully grilled to medium rare & cut off to bite size by the serving staff and was served to my plate. Server stayed with us and made sure we were satisfied with each meat, felt like I had a personal chef at my table. There were fermented squid condiments, ssamjang, flaky yummy salt handpicked from BC served as dipping sauces for the meat. Alrhough each sauce was very tasty, other than salt ( amazing salt!) I did not feel like I needed any additional dipping sauce for my meat. Meat itself was excellent! All the side dishes such as spucy jalapeno, pickles mustard, white kimchi, radish salad were all prepared in authentic Korean style. Using both dry and wet aging process for the meat seem to work to develop the flavor and improve the texture. Caulilini & assorted veggies to grill and fresh veggie to wrap from Tamarack Farm were also super tasty. Stone pot bibimbop was aleo mixed by the server at the table for us. Most of the veggies for bibimbop were special wild ones that you can getin Korea. How authentic! To finish up matcha & strawberry binsu was served. Enjoyed very light icy slushes and they did not go heavy with condensed milk. I had a glass of full bodied Bordeax red wine($19) to go with my meat. However I had a sip of my friend's Superdry Asahi 0.0 ($8) and the best No Alcohol beer I have ever had! Wow. Overall I enjoyed food quality, components, authenticity of Hansang. And was very content with the quality of their hospitality. Will return.

If I could, I would give it 3.5 overall 4.5 stars for service a Servers were nice and friendly. Knowledgeable. We were happy they cooked the meat for us so it's not overcooked. 3 for food 3 for value We got the set dinner so I didn't have to think. I honestly think the appetizer and sides were great but I've had better meat for Korean bbq. we are here for better service and ambience We started at the bar waiting for our table to get ready. That was nice of them to offer the appetizers at the bar if we are hungry and move us over to the table when we're ready. They forgot to give us napkins though. I just devoured the app and realized I had no napkin. Shaved ice on IG looks great but I've also had better ones. Server accidentally / indirectly made a playful comment that my friend looks old ... we were easy going but my friend did tease him and say he could have been offended. No biggie, but we can see someone can take that the wrong way. Menu is fine print font size so probably it's meant for the younger clientele even though it was a mix crowd

We ordered the Hangsang set menu and it was an incredible dinner. The seafood pancake was a standout, one of the best I've had, and the uni topping paired well with it. The seafood tower was on the smaller side but made up for it with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The chef selected beef selection was top-tier, featuring high-quality pork, wagyu beef, and a strip loin exclusive to the set menu. All were excellent, the wagyu was our favourite and melted in our mouths. The variety of sides, including different greens (cabbage, perilla leaf, lettuce) and the mushroom bibimbap, that our server recommended we add the squid sauce with took the experience to another level. We ended the night with bingsoo, which had a surprisingly strong flavour but was enjoyable. The service was excellent, our server cooked everything for us, was attentive, and provided great recommendations. Definitely a spot worth trying at least once!

Heard of this place from a friend. Elevated and higher end KBBQ food at higher price points. I appreciated that they serve dry aged meats but felt that some of the meats such as the rib eye was nothing special. They do cook and portion everything which is a real treat. The side veggies and dishes were really fresh. We also ordered the pot rice and I felt that is was a bit underwhelming. Seating wise we're located at the front so it was a bit chilly. The one dish I would recommend is their seafood pancake, very crispy and delicious. Overall it would be a great place if you are craving higher end KBBQ for a nice little date or special occasion.

Incredible service. They cook the food for you table side. And the food is top quality. We had the set menu. It was highly worth it. Each cut of meat was perfect. The dessert was a bingsu with filling. Best bingsu I've had.

Definitely the fanciest Korean bbq I've ever had. Apparently it's the same owner as Mott 32. Seafood pancake was thick and delicious, sujebi clam soup was so umami. The meats were grilled to perfection by our Server. While I thought the grapefruit Binsoo was quite pricey at $24++ it was refreshing especially with the meringue. Service was top notch, he knew when to chime in and when to give us space. The food was delicious as well. Cool space with dry aged meat in the windows. It was the attention to details with the service that really wowed me.

My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner on a Friday night after snagging a last-minute reservation. We'd heard great things about this place and were excited to finally try it. Since we weren't too hungry, we ordered two meat dishes, seasonal vegetables, and seafood pancakes. For the meat, we chose the dry-aged ribeye and prime hanger steak--both were incredibly delicious. The seafood pancake was flavorful but a bit on the heavier side. Our server was super helpful and even cooked the food for us. Overall, the food was fantastic, and we had a wonderful dining experience. Takja BBQ has a more upscale vibe and is perfect for a date night or an intimate gathering with friends.

High end KBBQ place located on College West. This is the first place like this in Toronto as it's like a fancy and pricier KNBQ spot. It's a great restaurant for a date night. The servers cook your meats for you so you don't have to worry about doneness. A lot of their meats are dry aged and nice quality. I definitely recommend getting the seafood pancake as an appetizer. I also loved the different kinds of veggies they gave for ssam wrap. I didn't get a chance to try their shaved ice for dessert which looked super good. I ordered a yuzu spritzer for a.non-alcoholic beverage and really liked it. The servers were very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised to not smell like kbbq smoke afterwards!

Takja BBQ is a new Korean BBQ spot in Toronto. From the minds behind Oroshi Fish Co. comes this elevated Korean BBQ. They have top notch dry aged meat from A5 Wagyu Ribeye to Iberico Pluma. We got the Hansang which means "A table full of food". They will fill the table for you and you get to try a little bit of everything. It comes with a Seafood tower, seafood pancake, pork and beef, mushroom stone pot rice, and Bingsoo. We ordered Beef tartare which was not part of the Hansang. It was different from any beef tartare I have had before. It was definitely Korean style beef tartare with the gochujang. The ambiance was really modern and clean. Overall, I had a great experience.

The workers were very friendly and funny. I had a great time bantering with them. My friend from 8th grade and I reunited for the first time in 21 years over dinner. This was one of her picks, and I am deeply grateful she chose it. Appetizers: Rock Shrimp, Fatty Tuna Nigiri, Crispy Rice Tuna Entrée: Jidori Chicken Drinks: Sangria, Champagne Dessert: Yuzu Citrus The rock shrimp was delicious. We loved the sauce it was tossed in. My friend is not usually a shrimp fan but she polished it off for me. The fatty tuna nigiri was great, as expected, and the crispy rice tuna was phenomenal. The Jidori chicken was delightful. We loved the sauce, and the mashed potatoes were pillowy. I did not have the sangria but my friend said it was the best she had ever had. The yuzu citrus dessert came with strawberry gelato and cookie crumbs. The gelato was not overly sweet and the yuzu was perfectly tart. They also put a little "Reunited" note on the dessert plate, which we both thought was such a sweet touch. Definitely pricey, but definitely worth it. Recommended it to my Toronto friends, I really want to go back and get that king crab rice.

It's a gorgeous setting and has a complete vibe of luxury. I thought the tacos were yummy, but the meat didn't feel special like you expect when you hear waygu. It also wasn't as earthy as I've experienced with waygu, but I didn't really mind that. I also got the Brother From Another Mother roll and really enjoyed that. Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
