The fish was incredibly fresh and portion sizes were hefty. The sushi combo was good bang for your buck! Also the rock shrimp was super crispy and yummy!

Got 3 orders of spicy salmon, finished it all in 10.056 seconds. I slurped, nibbled and licked them up, as a credited Yelp reviewer I can say that this sushi is like getting a 30 year sentence down to 1 year of probation, just incredibly different and nothing like that .

Jumbo taka roll. ..10 large pieces of heaven!!! My fav.

Wow. I can't believe that I haven't reviewed Taka in awhile... Well, for me, it's our local sushi joint! And a BYOB! It is usually easy to get a seat and service is friendly and good. To start, love the edamame and seaweed salad, as well as shrimp shumai. All fresh and delicious. We have sampled a lot here. My personal favorite is the jumbo taka roll. Bf loves the beef nagimaki. We have had a variety of entrees and sushi here and all has been very good. They have a back room with larger booths that can seat 6-8 easily and the area is a bit quieter. We usually have our girls night out in a back booth. Parking is summit style with street parking or nearby lots (free after 6pm.)

Everytime I come to Taka Sushi it's so good. I've come multiple times and the food and service has been nothing less than amazing. The ambiance is so calm and relaxing. Definitely recommend trying their pork gyoza, spicy tuna, and shrimp tempura.

We've been coming to Taka Sushi for over 5 years and it's our favorite sushi spot in the area. The service is friendly and attentive. It can be extremely busy on the weekends with long wait times but it's worth it. Also, this is a BYOB place. The sushi is always excellent quality, fresh and consistent. They have really good appetizers too. We usually get the sunomono (amazing), shrimp gyozas (pan fried on one side), baby tako, pickles, rainbow roll and plenty of sushi/sashimi. I highly recommend Taka Sushi!

Came in on my lunch, I have a usual sushi spot in town that I go to but I figured I'd go here to try it out. Service was very alert. Couldn't really tell if they were nice haha until at the end when I asked the lady if she didn't mind if I stayed just a little bit t finish some work. She smiled and said of course take your time. So that was sweet of her. I ordered the tuna tataki in ponzu sauce... it was ok... I've had better. I can't really say what the issue was... was lacking something... flavor?? Then I ordered what seemed popular which was the Jumbo take roll. I was not pleased... the rice was not stick and the roll maybe wasnt tightened up because everytime I tried to pick it up it would all fall apart. Each one. So it was a hassle to eat. Flavors too neutral and if you know me, you know I love me some flavors! I'll stick to my usual spot in town :-)

Order sushi, sashimi and food takeout from Taka Sushi to share with my family. The food is so fresh and delicious! Everyone in the family love the food and even the kids enjoy the food as well. Will definitely order food from them again!

OVER priced sushi when you can go around the black to Sushi Palace and pay $21 for Unlimited Sushi and it's both fresh and tasty. I ordered three rolls and Taka and spent $25, if not more.

Food is good. It's the waitresses here who brings down the experience. It's sad that management doesn't do anything about it.

The taste was bland and the fish in one of my roll was still frozen. The rest of my meal was OK but it's a bit over price.

We ordered a few rolls and, after complimenting the chef on how delicious they were, were treated to two complimentary pieces of seared sushi. Yum!!! The menu also offers a nice selection of Japanese and Korean dishes if you want to explore beyond sushi. We tried the bibimbap, which unfortunately wasn't our favorite. Although it was served in a hot stone bowl, the bulgogi was a bit lukewarm and the egg was overdone. I also would have preferred for the staff to mix it for us when it was served. The ambiance is lovely, especially compared with many of the nearby sushi spots, and the service was warm and welcoming. Overall, a really enjoyable experience. Well done!

Overall, restaurant had a cute environment with flower decor once you enter. You can also dine outside, which is nice when the weather is optimal :) We tried their japanese inspired spring roll (salmon teriyaki) and lunch sushi (my husband had the chirashi and i had the tuna set). Everything was delicious and our server was very generous (they offered 2 salmon nigiri on the house, which was very nice of them). I would definitely come back here again to try their other menu offerings!

I love temaki! We started with shishito peppers with a smoked honey miso. I was curious to see how they did vegetarian options, so I went with five plant-based temaki. I'm hard-pressed to pick a favorite; each one was so delicious! -- avocado "toast" -- cucumber black sesame -- tofu chimichurri -- sweet potato tempura -- maitake truffle Our waiter was so nice and welcoming. She checked in on us and answered questions that we had about the menu. That kind of genuineness and hospitality always makes the dine-in experience a notch above. I hope to return again soon. The eatery is close to the Welmont, so I made a mental note to remember it next time I'm seeing a concert or show. Nami Nori in Montclair is highly recommended!

We love nami nori for its upscale and clean feel! Its well lit and doesn't seem like a night club lol. Food was amazing!! The spicy tuna dip was delicious and actually spicy! The caviar service has gone up a bit in price since we came here a couple years ago but it was too good of a deal before! All the handrolls were amazing but our favorite was the toro scallion. We added some of our leftover caviar from the apps and it mixed perfectly!!! Spicy lobster is definitely a must as well! Can't wait to come back for our next date!! Pro tip: theres a parking deck right across the street behind the bike store! You can cross through the lit up alley pretty safely there.

If the kitchen is running behind they'll often give us a free appetizer. The space gets a little loud at times but it's part of the ambiance. Our favorite appetizers to order include: Bao Buns, Edamame, and Cucumber Salad. For ramen our go-to is always the Spicy Miso, but will sometimes mix it up and get the Chef's Special or the Shoyu. But we were just dropping by one of our absolute favorite places to eat in Summit. Summit has a great downtown with many restaurants and let me be brutally honest. Many will disappoint. My experience is a lot of muted flavors. Not too spicy. Some honestly pretty bland. Not so here. We get the ramen fairly often. I get the chefs special or house special? Something special. And it is. My wife gets the vegan one. She gets it with no bamboo shoots. Not a bamboo shoot fan. She would make the perfect panda roommate. They are crazy about them. Her panda roommate would not even need to put his name on them in the fridge. She wouldn't go near them. They wouldn't need to have that awkward conversation where he would say, "I'm pretty sure I had like 3/4 of a container of bamboo shoots yesterday," She hates them. Be careful. I am pretty sure they are not called bamboo shoots on the menu. I think they use the Japanese name for them. And we always get the tofu bao buns because she's pretty vegan. Not orthodox vegan. She might have an egg. Especially here. Add an egg to her ramen. Ramen is terrific. And we've had it delivered as well. Packed really well. Actually maybe not delivered. But take out for sure. We ate in tonight I had the Kimchi pork bao buns. Wow. People will write songs about them. And I had the sticky chicken wings which are only available for dine in. Super crispy super sticky. If people are writing songs about the bao buns they would go to war over these wings. Even a panda would be like Why was I eating sticks? What's wrong with me? These are amazing! The place is really cute inside. I see it described as hipster but this is definitely a popular family spot in Summit. When it is nice out they slide the front of the restaurant open to let the fresh air in. So that's nice. Super cute. Great food. Fast friendly service.
