The fish was incredibly fresh and portion sizes were hefty. The sushi combo was good bang for your buck! Also the rock shrimp was super crispy and yummy!

Got 3 orders of spicy salmon, finished it all in 10.056 seconds. I slurped, nibbled and licked them up, as a credited Yelp reviewer I can say that this sushi is like getting a 30 year sentence down to 1 year of probation, just incredibly different and nothing like that .

Everytime I come to Taka Sushi it's so good. I've come multiple times and the food and service has been nothing less than amazing. The ambiance is so calm and relaxing. Definitely recommend trying their pork gyoza, spicy tuna, and shrimp tempura.

Wow. I can't believe that I haven't reviewed Taka in awhile... Well, for me, it's our local sushi joint! And a BYOB! It is usually easy to get a seat and service is friendly and good. To start, love the edamame and seaweed salad, as well as shrimp shumai. All fresh and delicious. We have sampled a lot here. My personal favorite is the jumbo taka roll. Bf loves the beef nagimaki. We have had a variety of entrees and sushi here and all has been very good. They have a back room with larger booths that can seat 6-8 easily and the area is a bit quieter. We usually have our girls night out in a back booth. Parking is summit style with street parking or nearby lots (free after 6pm.)

We've been coming to Taka Sushi for over 5 years and it's our favorite sushi spot in the area. The service is friendly and attentive. It can be extremely busy on the weekends with long wait times but it's worth it. Also, this is a BYOB place. The sushi is always excellent quality, fresh and consistent. They have really good appetizers too. We usually get the sunomono (amazing), shrimp gyozas (pan fried on one side), baby tako, pickles, rainbow roll and plenty of sushi/sashimi. I highly recommend Taka Sushi!

Came in on my lunch, I have a usual sushi spot in town that I go to but I figured I'd go here to try it out. Service was very alert. Couldn't really tell if they were nice haha until at the end when I asked the lady if she didn't mind if I stayed just a little bit t finish some work. She smiled and said of course take your time. So that was sweet of her. I ordered the tuna tataki in ponzu sauce... it was ok... I've had better. I can't really say what the issue was... was lacking something... flavor?? Then I ordered what seemed popular which was the Jumbo take roll. I was not pleased... the rice was not stick and the roll maybe wasnt tightened up because everytime I tried to pick it up it would all fall apart. Each one. So it was a hassle to eat. Flavors too neutral and if you know me, you know I love me some flavors! I'll stick to my usual spot in town :-)

Order sushi, sashimi and food takeout from Taka Sushi to share with my family. The food is so fresh and delicious! Everyone in the family love the food and even the kids enjoy the food as well. Will definitely order food from them again!

OVER priced sushi when you can go around the black to Sushi Palace and pay $21 for Unlimited Sushi and it's both fresh and tasty. I ordered three rolls and Taka and spent $25, if not more.

The ramen had great depth of flavor, the tempura was crisp and light, and the roll was fresh and satisfying. I also loved the ambiance of the place. There's something about it that feels very communal, and it was cool being able to watch the sushi chefs and the rest of the team at work. This will definitely become one of my staples in Morristown!

While it's not quite on the level of New York City's omakase spots, it's solid for New Jersey and worth a visit if you're in the area. Standout bites for me were the Otoro and Chu Toro- both beautifully fatty and flavorful - as well as the Hamachi with shishito and the scallop topped with crispy garlic. Other highlights included the Madai (seabream), barracuda, striped jack, and a satisfying bone marrow served with toast. I also tried Kumamoto oysters for the first time in years, and they were a lovely surprise-cleaned properly, topped with a light sauce, and incredibly fresh. The Hokkaido uni was creamy, though slightly more briny and bitter than I personally prefer. Mr. Bin himself mentioned that uni flavor can vary depending on the season. Throughout the meal, Mr. Bin was present and helpful, guiding us toward which fish to try. The fish is delivered fresh twice a week, and the quality really does show. That said, it's still missing that little extra something that sets top-tier omakase apart- the purposeful dot of yuzu sauce, the hidden dab of wasabi under the fish, or a crisp garnish that adds dimension and surprise. Some sushi have this, some don't. The technique is good, the fish is fresh, and the experience was enjoyable- I'd return- but it's a notch below the more elevated experiences you can find in the city. Hence 4 stars. Solid though, and friendly. Nice ambiance inside too, Saturday dinner time it filled up quickly so I recommend a reservation.

I'm glad I did because, honestly, I would've been disappointed paying full price for this. The packaging was well done for takeout, but the food itself was pretty underwhelming for the price. The hand rolls lacked the fresh, melt in your mouth quality I'd expect from a slightly elevated restaurant. The only items I genuinely enjoyed were the coconut shrimp and the crab hand roll. The potato salad was $10 for a very small portion, which felt hard to justify, and the chicken karaage was a little soggy instead of crispy (may be from the takeout box). Overall, I'm thankful for the Grubhub deal because I don't think the food was worth the regular price. Between the quality and portion sizes, I don't see myself ordering from here again.

But we were just dropping by one of our absolute favorite places to eat in Summit. Summit has a great downtown with many restaurants and let me be brutally honest. Many will disappoint. My experience is a lot of muted flavors. Not too spicy. Some honestly pretty bland. Not so here. We get the ramen fairly often. I get the chefs special or house special? Something special. And it is. My wife gets the vegan one. She gets it with no bamboo shoots. Not a bamboo shoot fan. She would make the perfect panda roommate. They are crazy about them. Her panda roommate would not even need to put his name on them in the fridge. She wouldn't go near them. They wouldn't need to have that awkward conversation where he would say, "I'm pretty sure I had like 3/4 of a container of bamboo shoots yesterday," She hates them. Be careful. I am pretty sure they are not called bamboo shoots on the menu. I think they use the Japanese name for them. And we always get the tofu bao buns because she's pretty vegan. Not orthodox vegan. She might have an egg. Especially here. Add an egg to her ramen. Ramen is terrific. And we've had it delivered as well. Packed really well. Actually maybe not delivered. But take out for sure. If people are writing songs about the bao buns they would go to war over these wings. Even a panda would be like Why was I eating sticks? What's wrong with me? These are amazing! The place is really cute inside. I see it described as hipster but this is definitely a popular family spot in Summit.
