Alaska Roll California Roll Spice Girl Roll Dynamite Roll
Natalia R.

I used to frequent here back in the day, but sorry to say things have clearly gone WAYYYY downhill. Ambiance: Poor attention to detail. We were given two dishes stacked together with a piece of avocado wedged between them as appetizer side plates. Food: Miso Eggplant app was cut super thick making it difficult to eat and it had a weird slimy consistency. There was far too much sauce on and it had a dollop of ketchup on each bite. I'm sorry but if you can't do a proper miso sauce, don't try to decorate it with ketchup! Just take it off your menu. No Japanese dish uses ketchup. It tasted gross and was super off putting. Spice girl roll: fish did not taste fresh. We left it. Alaska roll: meh. California roll: basic but okay on ingredients. At least the cucumber and avocado tasted fresh. Dynamite roll: the nori was super soggy and rubbery. Very hard to eat. Everything was falling apart. Rice in all the sushi was bland and cold. Service: attentive at first, but slow once orders were in. This used to be a place you could go for fresh Americanized sushi, sadly not anymore.

Shrek Roll (came with 10 pieces)

I haven't been up in the Madison area for a while, and I had gotten sushi from here once or twice in the past. So when I was in Madison I knew I had to stop by again. WOWWW, I was amazed. The Shrek roll is just scrumptious. It's pricy but worth it for the amount of pieces. The sweet potato roll was perfect and one of the better ones I've had. The salmon sashimi was delightful as well. This was a take out order during lunch time. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi!

Tried some new rolls this time and wanted to update - still fresh and delicious! The Shrek roll is wrapped in bright green seaweed for a fun twist and we split the Box B which comes with teriyaki, shumai, tempura, and California rolls. Of course, I always go with my favorite - sweetheart roll!

Splendid Roll, my new favorite

If you love sushi, you have to try this place. I have been enjoying it for years, as an after work dinner. Sometimes I order to go, but many times I eat inside. No matter where I go for sushi, I compare it to Yuki Hana . The rolls are delicious, fresh, great combinations of ingredients for the most delectable flavor. I go to other places and try to have them duplicate the special rolls here, and they never measure up. I usually get the volcano roll, or green Phoenix which I love. But I just tried the splendid roll which is now my new favorite. This place is very clean, excellent service, their take out service is always busy, which keeps the food fresh, since it moves out quickly since they are busy inside and to go. The bathrooms are clean which also matters, the standards are high in every detail. There is a parking lot which is convenient. Complimentary parking, no meters. You won't regret coming here.

Got their lunch menu sushi 2 roll combo. It was flavorful. Miso soup was average but the salad was fresh and dressing tangy. I had the tuna avocado and sweet potato roll. Both tasted great

This is a quaint little Japanese restaurant in Madison. The service here is very friendly and quick which is nice. They have a large menu with many options and a fantastic lunch menu offering deals on sushi, sashimi, rolls, bento boxes and more. I came here for lunch with my sister and I got the sushi lunch deal while she got the sashimi and sushi lunch deal. Both also came with salad and miso soup. The food here isn't anything out of the ordinary but I recommend it if you're looking for a good Japanese restaurant at an affordable price.

This is a solid spot for sushi. Well priced, fresh sushi. Great menu featuring a huge variety including non sushi dishes. The lunch menu is really good and they get you out pretty quickly.

Ask the Community - Yuki Hana Sushi

Is this place an ayce?

I don't believe it is. There's a new restaurant called Sakana in East Hanover that's right on RT-10 West that is though.

What's the price for AYCE sushi lunch and dinner?

They do not offer AYCE here

This was a very pleasant surprise and has the potential to be a regular spot going forward. I came here with my chum last Saturday night for dinner. I'm not that familiar with the downtown Madison area but it was very easy to locate street parking within a block of the entrance. Interestingly, this building obviously housed a ye olde bank back in the day, but once inside, there was nothing left in the interior to suggest that past - a little disappointing they weren't able to preserve some of that history but I obviously know nothing about the back story there so grain of salt. In what ended up being a tremendous miscalculation, we ended up ordering four signature rolls to split and didn't come close to finishing them - we likely left close to half of the pieces on the plate (don't worry, they found a new home and became a secondary meal later on), which is definitely not a ding on them. Despite having hundreds of rolls in my life, calculating how quickly they'll fill me up remains a tedious work in progress. Anyway. Hopefully I remember all of these, but I believe the four rolls were the Bronx Bomber, Roe Roe Roe Your Boat (couldn't figure out if this one was a subtle political statement or not but I doubt it), Luck of the Irish and Paradise Cove. The Bronx Bomber was our favorite, and for me probably an all-time top three or so, which is saying something. It's deep fried, which I'm usually ambivalent about (sometimes by definition it's too heavy for me and takes away from the other flavors in the roll), and I was a little leery initially about the cilantro which I don't think I've encountered before in this world. Delicious and not overly fried. I brought it home thinking, oh, I can easily eat this tomorrow for lunch, and then I accidentally ate it all an hour later. Huge recommend. The other one I really loved was Paradise Cove, which had a ton of interesting vibes going on there - the diced salmon sounded a little odd but didn't end up being different from just normal salmon (I think I assumed it would be seared or something, which it definitely wasn't). There's multiple mayos, multiple fish and it's just very unique; that type of combo with so many ingredients risks being overwhelming and it was a perfect balance. The Luck of the Irish was just okay for me; my chum advocated for that one I think in honor of a certain recent holiday, and it includes cucumber, which is my least favorite sushi ingredient. Easy to get out (and I did push the pieces out before eating) but it a little bland. The Roe was my least favorite, and that was just a personal palate issue - for me, there was too much fish roe (I think I just figured out why it's called Roe Roe Roe Your Boat) on top which made it extra salty. But that's on me. Everything was fresh and plentiful, and that to me is the ultimate standard. It's rare that I'm over the moon about service when it took over half an hour to get the rolls - sushi places overall tend to have a quick turnaround time by definition, but Blue Wazabi was SLAMMED with to-go orders while we were there (the entire time, there were multiple customers waiting for their pickups). And also to be fair, we did not get mundane, normal rolls. While we waited, the staff literally filled up my water glass five times (I'd been hiking earlier in the day and was still trying to catch up) and never let the level get below 25%. I actually started paying attention to that, and I'm honestly not sure if I've ever been somewhere where they were that vigilant about it, especially given that they were very busy. Huge points though - if you don't have the ability to get the rolls over in a few minutes, intense hydration is a pleasant plan B. I might just fill up on Bronx Bombers next time, which as a Mets fan makes me a little uncomfortable but it is what it is.

First, overall I'd say the food was very good on all five visits. The first two nights, I had dinner here. On the first night, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a bowl of the French onion soup and the halibut. The soup wasn't huge for $12, but it tasted good, and the halibut was quite flavorful. I didn't realize at the time, but they add in an 18% gratuity, so tip extra at your own risk. On the second night, I ate at a table with two coworkers. I had the chicken paillard, which was a large portion and also very good. Service was strong at both the bar and table on consecutive nights. For the three breakfasts, I pretty much had the same thing every day...an omelette with a side of fruit. It also came with potatoes, but it would've been nice if it came with toast or something similar without needing to pay extra. Again, food was good. Service the first day was fine. The next two days, the older gentleman providing service couldn't have cared less. I (and others) would show up at 6:30, when they opened, but nobody would be there. We'd sit ourselves and then wait. Eventually he'd show up. It was difficult getting coffee too, as both days, my cup sat empty for a long time until I'd eventually flag him down. Everything was on his time. I would've given him little/no tip...if the 18% wasn't already added in. The rest of the restaurant...food and service...gets a 5. This guy gets a 1. I probably should've given this a 3, but it didn't seem fair to everything/everyone else.
