Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing takeout experience. I ordered vegetable gyoza, but received beef instead. There was no apology, and blame was directed to me. They eventually brought the correct veggie gyoza, but when I asked what vegetables were in it, they initially ignored me. After I persisted, they admitted they didn't know because they buy it pre-made. Overall, the poor customer service and lack of accountability have made me reconsider ordering from this place again. read more

Best local sushi place around! The sushi is always fresh and the sides/appetizers are delicious as well. They have a little "mizu mart" in the front of the store with plenty of Japanese and Korean snacks, ramen, and candy. Today was my first time trying Mizu sushi with my fiance, and we are very picky sushi eaters. Mizu did not disappoint! We ordered 6 special rolls, since we typically can eat 2-3 rolls each, but these rolls were double the average size of any other place we've been to! Not only were we impressed by the size of the rolls (and of course the taste), but the freshness of the fish was amazing! I also had a tough time deciding on what rolls to get, because there are so many great special roll options! I've never been more excited to try more rolls at Mizu soon! read more

I heard so many good things about this place, so decided to give it a try... heard that this is own by a Japanese couple, so all the more I want to try... This is a very small sushi place... so don't expect to have many many table... and actually, they only have 1 tablet there... seems like most of the customer come in for take out... and seems like everything know the owner, which to me, they are their long term customers and that means they are good... I ordered couple rolls, and they are very fresh and very good... maybe a little more expensive, but it's not outrageous!! Great service (the owners will make sure everything is right for you...) they even have a little section for Japanese snacks if you want to buy... a cute little place... But as I had 2 hours to wait until my DD's practice ends I sat at the small 3-seat counter adjacent to the ordering and refrigerated sashimi counter. Cozy and Pleasant waiting area and everything looks so fresh and delicious. The sashimi was excellent and had 17 pieces for $18.95. The brown rice I ordered was cooked perfectly. Al dente-like and had a nice texture to it. Too often it's overcooked and mushy at many Japanese sushi places. Great little find right in heart of Basking Ridge and free parking in front! read more

Im staying in the area and stopped by this place for dinner. The place is super small with a few seats outside. The owners are Japanese and very friendly. The prices for the rolls were on the more expensive side at around 12$ for a specialty roll. I ordered the king dragon roll and the spicy tuna roll and the total came out to 24$. Definitely more expensive than other places in new york but for a small town in new jersey it's understandable. read more

It's the best quality sushi in the area. The Double Spicy Tuna Roll is huge and tasty! My only complaint is that they don't stick to their posted hours and will simply stop taking calls for orders once they decide they have sold enough for the day or are approaching an hour or so ahead of their updated closing time. I believe it is more of a take out place but they do have a table and high top table if you would like to eat there and I noticed they have two tables outside, which I'm sure is awesome in the spring. this place is cute, but the sushi is alright, it's just a lot of bang for your buck. it's more rice than fish/filling. a good tip is that their spicy tuna is in fact spicy, not like most places where it is more like a tuna tartare-salad. there is no seating to speak of. that isn't a turn off because it is really cozy for the few seats they do have. the staff is very friendly and polite. read more

On the positive, they have one of the most extensive and unique selection of rolls. They include variations that i have never had before such as fried banana on top of fish. That being said.... Delicious sushi and other traditional Japanese food - the food is really the best in the area, and better than almost every Japanese restaurant in any other area I've been for that matter (including New York City). It's a tiny place with limited seating but perfect for takeout or eating at the sushi bar. Best of all, the chef and the small group who work there are some of the friendliest people you'll meet. I have never in all my life seen sushi made at such insane speeds. I never expected that as I took my seat almost simultaneously this lady was already dropping my food off in front of me, and not only was it faster than the speed of light it came out perfect. Not only was this sushi master faster than any before him he could also sing. I was in such shock when I heard that voice I almost turned my chair so I could pick him up and take on Blake Shelton for the title. Back to the real topic at hand amazing place for lunch great food did not cheap out on the spice at all those rolls had some kick! This is a cute little sushi place on lovely Finley Ave in Basking Ridge. There is only one table inside (seats about 6) and there are 3 small tables outside, seating about 8. Food is great, service of the server is decent (not great, never brought us anything to drink), the portions and good, and the sushi chef is friendly.
