Let me start by saying these woman of Tailored in white are super amazingly talented! They were welcoming, warm and felt like I was getting tailored by my very good friends! As a bride and you're already in wedding planning mode aka a little stressed or overwhelmed you really want to feel like the dress is the most controlled chaos of the whole process, Kora and her amazing team really made me feel confident in their abilities and they did not disappoint! They met every expectation and then some with how well they really hugged the dress to my body. They took their time and didn't move on until each section was perfected. My dress was purchased in 3-4 sizes too big due to being 15-20 lbs heavier when I purchased it, so a lot of taking in and forming was needed in the corset area. I'm also 5'Ft tall so they also had to make it so I didn't trip. You would have never known my dress was restructured and lace and beading were re-tacked back together, it looked as if I bought it the way they fit it to me. I was referred to TIW by the boutique I bought my dress from. The initial visit was with Veronica and thought she was great and very thorough. She walked me through the whole process and made sure we were on the same page. We had to halt alterations after my initial fitting due to my wedding getting postponed due to covid and they were very sincere about it and even offered to hold my dress until I plan a new date! Once my new wedding date was planned, they got me in right away and Veronica and Cora were present every fitting. Yes, it's a lot of visits and it's a little more on the expensive side, but I truly believe TIW is a one of kind experience and make me feel like an extra special bride! Look no further for wedding alterations! I was VERY nervous to have my dress altered. The lace detail creates a beautiful pattern but I knew alterations would be challenging and I almost didn't pick the dress for this reason. The girls are so sweet in here and know what they are doing. I didn't doubt for a second that they knew exactly how to make my alterations a success. My dress is perfect! They have a system down to get you in for all of your necessary fittings, are very professional and always on time. I will start by saying that the first appointments I had were great! Sadly, I left very disappointed towards the end. Given that my wedding was only a couple of months away when I brought my dress in I offered to come in as often as needed but I was told one appointment a week was necessary and that all alterations I needed could be done on time. All appointments went great but the week I finally had to pick up my dress things got chaotic. The original appointment to pick up my dress was accidentally scheduled for a day they were closed so they asked to reschedule. I didn't think that was a big deal because I thought all alterations would be done by the time I would pick it up so I rescheduled for later in the week. The day to pick up my dress finally came and when I showed up no one acknowledged that I had been waiting there for 45 mins. I had a very weird feeling since that has never happened before, someone would normally come out and greet you. I didn't even mind the waiting because I understand there are other brides getting fitted but I just had a weird feeling. During those 45 mins I saw the staff whispering and looking at me almost like hiding so I started sensing that something was wrong. An hour went by and someone finally came out to say "They're having an issue with your dress and I don't think it'll be ready for you to take it today". The bride next to me saw how overwhelmed I got and asked when the wedding was which I explained I was leaving for it that night. I reminded the lady that I couldn't leave without my dress because I would be leaving for my wedding that night (I had already told them this and they wrote it down on our contract as the delivery date). The lady that initially came out went back to talk to the team and came back and said they would try to have it ready before the store closed that day. I didn't have much of an option so I agreed and left to do some other last minute things I needed to get done. I asked to try my dress once again to get a feeling of where we were at. There were still two things that needed to be done since my last appointment: the boning and the strap on the right side. They said they would call at 6:30 to come pick it up. Seven o'clock rolled around and I called to ask about my dress which they said would be ready at 7:30pm. I came to pick up my dress and the seamstress didn't come out to ensure it was fitting properly. They simply sent me to a room to try it out on my own and basically hoped it fitted. The strap was still lose but there was nothing I could do at that point anymore so I left. I still paid for all the services and when I left there was no acknowledgment of what had happened. I was nice to the entire staff until the very end as I had not had a chance to process what was happening and I was still understanding that things can come up and people make mistakes. I truly don't think they meant any harm but I wouldn't want other brides to go through what I went through. I work on the customer space and I do believe that constructive feedback is the way to go in these cases. That said, I think a number of things could've been done differently: 1. Do not overpromise and commit to deliver things on time if you do not have the bandwidth to do so. As a customer you want to make an informed decision based on the options available to you and it is not possible to do so if people assure you they can do things they actually can't. 2. Be honest with your customers and respectful of their time. It would've been nice for someone to be upfront with me so that I could've spend my time taking care of other important things I needed to do. I had to move appointments and delayed other stuff to be with you guys on time but between commuting and waiting I wasted hours that could've been better used. 3. Own up to your mistakes. That fact that NO ONE said anything for 45 mins when I initially came to pick up my dress and that the seamstress didn't come out to ensure my dress fitted properly reflect poorly on how much you value your customers and how much do you want them to leave satisfied. 4. Customers spend a lot of time and money to get this services done. Had someone said "sorry this happened" or taken accountability in some way my experience would've been completely different. Like I said, up until the last week I was very satisfied with your services and I think your seamstress does a pretty great job. However, I do think that better organization could've helped in this case. Best of luck! read more

The staff is very friendly and the seamstresses are super helpful. That being said, one of the workers was working on my dress while I was in it. He asked if I wanted a bustle, I said yes and then off he went to pinning. He didn't ask me what kind of bustle I wanted or anything of the sort, he just started pinning! At first I thought he was doing the hem because we hadn't done the hem yet and that's the first thing you need to do! About 20 minutes later it's revealed to me that he's been working on the bustle this whole time. My god it looked awful. Not only that, it was an entire 3.5 inches longer in the front than in was in the back. The front was dragging under my feet and you could see my heels from the back! ​ I took the dress off and went home in tears. I called them back and they promptly booked me another appointment to have it fixed, this time with a seamstress. She did a wonderful job asking me what style I wanted and making sure that it fit on the dress perfectly. The second time around was the right way to go. Come wedding day, I'm putting on my dress and SNAP! The sleeve that I had custom made and had them sew on the dress popped right off! I scrambled to find a needle and thread and had my photographer sew the sleeve back on. All in all, I would have rather gone to another shop at the end of the day. They weren't good listeners unless I had something to complain about and the craftsmanship of the alterations was very poor. I am actually truly disappointed in my service here. They basically quoted me tailoring for a dress that just needed to be brought in to fit, nothing special but quoted me $1,200 but that did not include bustle or hemming of the dress. At this rate, I could have bought a new dress. When I came in the floors in the fitting rooms were not clean, which made me question about my pristine white dress getting dirty in their hands. The seamstress also used a safety pin which left a hole in my fabric. Never have I gone to a tailor where they use safety pins, and all she did was one safety pin on each side, let me know she would have to remove the lace, the boning, and basically recreate a new dress (which is unnecessary). She did not follow the flow of the dress or the line of how it is supposed to fit. She also asked how I wanted to shape my dress to make it different. I did not want a different dress, I bought my dress because I loved it from the get-go, again, just needed it brought in a bit as it is a bit large on hips and waist. To add a cherry on top of this already unpleasant experience, the seamstress commented on how she did not like my designer dress because their models are always tiny in them and let me know "that I would never look like the size 0 model the dress is meant for." This completely made me feel terrible, as it is so special to put on your gown and feel beautiful in it, not be told I will never be a size 0. Remind you, I am a size 4, so the fact she felt the need to even comment like that is a joke, let alone in this industry. Any woman, any bride, regardless of body shape or size should feel beautiful. I actually felt insecure. After being "fitted" I was told I would need to come twice a week to make sure we were done in time. As brides know, between work, planning a wedding, and life, driving twice a week for one safety pin is not plausible. I was then met with their salesperson who basically did the whole upsale, instilled panic in me on why my dress wasn't good enough. I did not like the vibe of staff, they were not kind, it was far too expensive, and did not seem like they knew what they were doing. I would save your humility, wallet, time and avoid this place at all costs. read more

The reviews don't lie. Cora is the real deal. A magician! I have never met anyone more committed to her work. I was a little nervous to start the altering process due to all the horror stories you hear. Once I met Cora, I knew I could trust her 100%. She has been doing this since she was a child with her family business. She will keep working and altering until you both are 120% satisfied. She does not stop until perfection. My dress needed quite a bit of altering due to buying it off the rack too big. She had to completely deconstruct the waist line and move it up. She also created custom straps from the trim of my dress. When we didn't have enough trim to finish them, she went out of her way to order more from the designer. No job is too big for Cora. You can tell this is not just her job, but truly her passion. My dress looked like a completely different dress when she was finished. No one had any idea it was originally strapless due to her amazing work. My bustle was perfect and she made it look like there wasn't even a train to start with, people were AMAZED! On the day of the wedding, she came in the morning to steam my dress and veil, in the afternoon to make sure I got in it alright, then again after the ceremony to bustle my dress. What?! Who does that!? Cora does, and doesn't even think twice. Not only did she alter my wedding dress, she redid my moms wedding dress to wear at my rehearsal dinner! I had to send my dress to another tailor because their solution to having almost nothing done and my dress not fitting a week before my wedding was to find another dress. Photo is of my dress after it broke at the wedding-- we had to sew me in and used my veil to cover the remainder. Under no circumstances should you go here. They were inefficient, unprofessional, and of poor quality-- without a doubt my experience with TIW was the only negative part to my entire wedding. As mentioned, one week before my wedding they were still trying to get a simple strapless dress to stop slipping. Instead of finding another dress as they suggested with days to spare, I instead had my dress sent to a tailor at our destination finish it-- it took her 2 hours to finish the key parts that they couldn't accomplish in 4 months. At the wedding I lost an HOUR of time because my planner, photographer, and MOH all had to MacGyver the bustle they messed up, then the entire zipper (that TIW said they were going to replace since appt #1) broke and my bridesmaid had to sew me into my dress. Even beyond that, throughout the experience the level of unprofessionalism took me aback-- between comments from multiple staff members about my body ("Maybe the dress keeps slipping because your boobs got even smaller?") to comments about other brides and seamstresses. This was the worst experience of my life. My fears became a reality when it was 3 days before my wedding and my dress was not finished. I was promised that it would be finished a week before the wedding. I worked with Sarah and her team and I have to say the alterations that were done looked rushed and the quality was just horrible. They lied to me about 7 weeks being enough time to complete my dress. If I brought up any concerns I had they were addressed with hostility and disrespect. This being the most important time of my life, I expected them to actually hear my concerns. They overcharged me, and they refused to explain to me what specific alterations were for. This was a brand new dress that I had bought from Luv Bridal. I spent almost as much as the dress cost originally. The boning that was done to the dress, on my wedding day, popped out of my dress and scratched me continuously. My hem was not done properly, the slip was longer than the hem. I had to find a seamstress last minute to take it to. I took my dress home with me from Tailored In White three days before my wedding. I was fortunate enough to have found someone that was able to finish my dress as best as she could with all the damage that had been done to it. I was then able to pick up my dress completed the day before my wedding. I am leaving this review in hope that other brides see it. This was one of the most stressful things I had to deal with and honestly the most frustrating situation I've ever encountered. Very unprofessional on all levels. read more

I can't even give this business a full review because it never got that far. It is in a very exclusive Scottsdale location, so you would assume that you would get good customer service. You would be wrong! We were left in a hot room alone most of the time, while our consultant (who looked like she was going to work out at the gym) left to meet with someone else most of the time. I could go on and on about why I am leaving a bad review, this place came highly recommended and at first I was happy. Something changed about 5 months ago, I just don't know what. They are not like other tailors, you have to go in 10+ times). You will pay $1400+ for what other tailors would charge you $500-700 for. You will not see the same person or even the seamstress who will be altering your dress. You will be left in a hot room waiting for them to get to you which has pins, glitter, thread and open safety pins sticking out of the rug. Towards the end of your appointments you probably won't see much progress on your dress and if you question why it's because you're so far out, or they tried to and the sleeve kept falling off (?). I felt like I couldn't be honest with them towards the end because anything I questioned I was brushed off and I just wanted my dress at that point. I worry about leaving this review, they have been texting me asking for photos so they can post on social media and I don't want to continually be contacted by them. I just want to warn other brides because this place had amazing reviews and came highly recommended but something changed. In April/May I could tell something had shifted but against my better judgment I kept going back. My sister is a seamstress and was appalled at the quality, questioned the specific boning used and the lack of detail experienced seamstresses should have. The inside was sewed back together so sloppily, the bustle had missing pieces, my sister had to fix several things two days before my wedding. I had to sign a paper saying I was satisfied at pickup and I only did it because I did not want to deal with them anymore (4 days before my wedding when my dress was supposed to be done 2 weeks earlier per Cora). Tailored In White was recommended to me by the shop I purchased my wedding gown from. It seemed pricey but upscale. It was also conveniently located. TIW does microfittings, meaning they pretty much only perform one alteration per appt. I had 11 appts with Tailored In White and booked them 3 months prior to the wedding. Originally, I loved this idea. You pay up front but less chance of finding out your dress doesn't fit at the end due to body changes because you're constantly putting it on, and they could adjust if need be. The other plus was I got to spend more time in my dress! Here are some of the issues I experienced. For my hem, I was booked for a one hour appt. At the very next appt, my hem wasn't right. They said that it was a complicated dress which I understood and I had to stand for another hour while they ripped the hem out of my dress and repined it. Then go in the very next day because the delay put us behind schedule. We were 4 weeks away from the day. When it came time for the bustle, we were informed that it was $20 per bustle point. My mom and I were confused thinking we had not only paid up front but it was $1,125. We explained that we were not given this info on the day of booking. However, I signed a contract that stated this, and I 100% should have read it more thoroughly. We paid for the bustle and moved on. If that were it and my dress turned out perfectly, I would be willing to give 5 stars. But the last step they do is a "closing" adjustment. When I went in after that specific adjustment for my final pickup (after being there SIX DAYS PRIOR), my dress did not fit in the bust anymore. For the first time ever, it required multiple people to zip me up and I had an extremely squeezed back that looked like it had cleavage. Obviously it had been taken in too much whether it was purposeful or not, I did not gain so much in 6 days that I could possibly now be bursting out of my dress like a can of freaking biscuits. My mom got upset and made it clear this was a problem. The tailor disagreed. There was a literal line in the middle of my back due to how tight the dress was. But to diffuse the situation, I said it was fine and not a problem. Too many things were on my mind, and I didn't have room for confrontation. I should have made them fix it instead. It obviously fit the same way on the day of the wedding. My mom got it closed, again with the help of others, and then the very top hook busted off 30 seconds later. At that point, I said my hair will cover my back anyway and we don't have time to dwell. Twice throughout the night, two buttons busted on the back of my dress, again due to the bust being far too tight. I was also somehow tripping on the front of my dress throughout the day. My guess is that once the dress was steamed, it was slightly too long? TIW did the onsite steaming themselves and it seems like something they should've thought of before? I have no idea. No one else noticed these things and I looked great but what in the WORLD was the point of spending so much of time at this tailor shop for my dress to not actually fit properly?! I was gobsmacked that this could even be possible, y'all. HOURS of my life was spent here. My tailor had a great energy so I won't name names but y'all left me no choice in leaving this review. This shop should have done better. Can't say I recommend. $1,600 to tailor a dress that was $1700 and 11 appointments. read more

I was so pleased with the process I added two more dresses to get alterations. My wedding gown, my second dress and a party dress are absolutely perfect. The staff was super professional yet super comfortable to have casual conversation with. I felt a sense of sadness on my on final pick up because I knew that I wouldn't see them anymore. Horrible people and horrible process. Dress was finally done correctly but the stress of getting there along with being so overly priced simply because alterations get shoved around to different people. Can't believe the way they talk to their customers. Very sad read more
