I was referred to TIW by the boutique I bought my dress from. The initial visit was with Veronica and thought she was great and very thorough. She walked me through the whole process and made sure we were on the same page. We had to halt alterations after my initial fitting due to my wedding getting postponed due to covid and they were very sincere about it and even offered to hold my dress until I plan a new date! Once my new wedding date was planned, they got me in right away and Veronica and Cora were present every fitting. Yes, it's a lot of visits and it's a little more on the expensive side, but I truly believe TIW is a one of kind experience and make me feel like an extra special bride! They knew my name every time I walked in, rarely had to wait past my appointment time, and they were flexible with my schedule. My dress fit LIKE A GLOVE on my wedding day. Look no further for wedding alterations! I was VERY nervous to have my dress altered. The lace detail creates a beautiful pattern but I knew alterations would be challenging and I almost didn't pick the dress for this reason. The girls are so sweet in here and know what they are doing. I didn't doubt for a second that they knew exactly how to make my alterations a success. My dress is perfect! They have a system down to get you in for all of your necessary fittings, are very professional and always on time. The staff is very friendly and the seamstresses are super helpful. That being said, one of the workers was working on my dress while I was in it. He asked if I wanted a bustle, I said yes and then off he went to pinning. He didn't ask me what kind of bustle I wanted or anything of the sort, he just started pinning! At first I thought he was doing the hem because we hadn't done the hem yet and that's the first thing you need to do! About 20 minutes later it's revealed to me that he's been working on the bustle this whole time. My god it looked awful. Not only that, it was an entire 3.5 inches longer in the front than in was in the back. The front was dragging under my feet and you could see my heels from the back! ​ I took the dress off and went home in tears. I called them back and they promptly booked me another appointment to have it fixed, this time with a seamstress. She did a wonderful job asking me what style I wanted and making sure that it fit on the dress perfectly. The second time around was the right way to go. Come wedding day, I'm putting on my dress and SNAP! The sleeve that I had custom made and had them sew on the dress popped right off! I scrambled to find a needle and thread and had my photographer sew the sleeve back on. All in all, I would have rather gone to another shop at the end of the day. They weren't good listeners unless I had something to complain about and the craftsmanship of the alterations was very poor. I will start by saying that the first appointments I had were great! Sadly, I left very disappointed towards the end. Given that my wedding was only a couple of months away when I brought my dress in I offered to come in as often as needed but I was told one appointment a week was necessary and that all alterations I needed could be done on time. All appointments went great but the week I finally had to pick up my dress things got chaotic. The original appointment to pick up my dress was accidentally scheduled for a day they were closed so they asked to reschedule. I didn't think that was a big deal because I thought all alterations would be done by the time I would pick it up so I rescheduled for later in the week. The day to pick up my dress finally came and when I showed up no one acknowledged that I had been waiting there for 45 mins. I had a very weird feeling since that has never happened before, someone would normally come out and greet you. I didn't even mind the waiting because I understand there are other brides getting fitted but I just had a weird feeling. During those 45 mins I saw the staff whispering and looking at me almost like hiding so I started sensing that something was wrong. An hour went by and someone finally came out to say "They're having an issue with your dress and I don't think it'll be ready for you to take it today". The bride next to me saw how overwhelmed I got and asked when the wedding was which I explained I was leaving for it that night. I reminded the lady that I couldn't leave without my dress because I would be leaving for my wedding that night (I had already told them this and they wrote it down on our contract as the delivery date). The lady that initially came out went back to talk to the team and came back and said they would try to have it ready before the store closed that day. I didn't have much of an option so I agreed and left to do some other last minute things I needed to get done. I asked to try my dress once again to get a feeling of where we were at. There were still two things that needed to be done since my last appointment: the boning and the strap on the right side. They said they would call at 6:30 to come pick it up. Seven o'clock rolled around and I called to ask about my dress which they said would be ready at 7:30pm. I came to pick up my dress and the seamstress didn't come out to ensure it was fitting properly. They simply sent me to a room to try it out on my own and basically hoped it fitted. The strap was still lose but there was nothing I could do at that point anymore so I left. I still paid for all the services and when I left there was no acknowledgment of what had happened. I was nice to the entire staff until the very end as I had not had a chance to process what was happening and I was still understanding that things can come up and people make mistakes. I truly don't think they meant any harm but I wouldn't want other brides to go through what I went through. I work on the customer space and I do believe that constructive feedback is the way to go in these cases. That said, I think a number of things could've been done differently: 1. Do not overpromise and commit to deliver things on time if you do not have the bandwidth to do so. As a customer you want to make an informed decision based on the options available to you and it is not possible to do so if people assure you they can do things they actually can't. 2. Be honest with your customers and respectful of their time. It would've been nice for someone to be upfront with me so that I could've spend my time taking care of other important things I needed to do. I had to move appointments and delayed other stuff to be with you guys on time but between commuting and waiting I wasted hours that could've been better used. 3. Own up to your mistakes. That fact that NO ONE said anything for 45 mins when I initially came to pick up my dress and that the seamstress didn't come out to ensure my dress fitted properly reflect poorly on how much you value your customers and how much do you want them to leave satisfied. 4. Customers spend a lot of time and money to get this services done. Had someone said "sorry this happened" or taken accountability in some way my experience would've been completely different. Like I said, up until the last week I was very satisfied with your services and I think your seamstress does a pretty great job. However, I do think that better organization could've helped in this case. Best of luck! read more

I am actually truly disappointed in my service here. They basically quoted me tailoring for a dress that just needed to be brought in to fit, nothing special but quoted me $1,200 but that did not include bustle or hemming of the dress. At this rate, I could have bought a new dress. When I came in the floors in the fitting rooms were not clean, which made me question about my pristine white dress getting dirty in their hands. The seamstress also used a safety pin which left a hole in my fabric. Never have I gone to a tailor where they use safety pins, and all she did was one safety pin on each side, let me know she would have to remove the lace, the boning, and basically recreate a new dress (which is unnecessary). She did not follow the flow of the dress or the line of how it is supposed to fit. She also asked how I wanted to shape my dress to make it different. I did not want a different dress, I bought my dress because I loved it from the get-go, again, just needed it brought in a bit as it is a bit large on hips and waist. To add a cherry on top of this already unpleasant experience, the seamstress commented on how she did not like my designer dress because their models are always tiny in them and let me know "that I would never look like the size 0 model the dress is meant for." This completely made me feel terrible, as it is so special to put on your gown and feel beautiful in it, not be told I will never be a size 0. Remind you, I am a size 4, so the fact she felt the need to even comment like that is a joke, let alone in this industry. Any woman, any bride, regardless of body shape or size should feel beautiful. I actually felt insecure. After being "fitted" I was told I would need to come twice a week to make sure we were done in time. As brides know, between work, planning a wedding, and life, driving twice a week for one safety pin is not plausible. I was then met with their salesperson who basically did the whole upsale, instilled panic in me on why my dress wasn't good enough. I did not like the vibe of staff, they were not kind, it was far too expensive, and did not seem like they knew what they were doing. I would save your humility, wallet, time and avoid this place at all costs. read more

This was the worst experience of my life. My fears became a reality when it was 3 days before my wedding and my dress was not finished. I was promised that it would be finished a week before the wedding. I worked with Sarah and her team and I have to say the alterations that were done looked rushed and the quality was just horrible. They lied to me about 7 weeks being enough time to complete my dress. If I brought up any concerns I had they were addressed with hostility and disrespect. This being the most important time of my life, I expected them to actually hear my concerns. They overcharged me, and they refused to explain to me what specific alterations were for. This was a brand new dress that I had bought from Luv Bridal. I spent almost as much as the dress cost originally. The boning that was done to the dress, on my wedding day, popped out of my dress and scratched me continuously. My hem was not done properly, the slip was longer than the hem. I had to find a seamstress last minute to take it to. I took my dress home with me from Tailored In White three days before my wedding. I was fortunate enough to have found someone that was able to finish my dress as best as she could with all the damage that had been done to it. I was then able to pick up my dress completed the day before my wedding. I am leaving this review in hope that other brides see it. I had to send my dress to another tailor because their solution to having almost nothing done and my dress not fitting a week before my wedding was to find another dress. Photo is of my dress after it broke at the wedding-- we had to sew me in and used my veil to cover the remainder. Under no circumstances should you go here. They were inefficient, unprofessional, and of poor quality-- without a doubt my experience with TIW was the only negative part to my entire wedding. As mentioned, one week before my wedding they were still trying to get a simple strapless dress to stop slipping. Instead of finding another dress as they suggested with days to spare, I instead had my dress sent to a tailor at our destination finish it-- it took her 2 hours to finish the key parts that they couldn't accomplish in 4 months. At the wedding I lost an HOUR of time because my planner, photographer, and MOH all had to MacGyver the bustle they messed up, then the entire zipper (that TIW said they were going to replace since appt #1) broke and my bridesmaid had to sew me into my dress. Even beyond that, throughout the experience the level of unprofessionalism took me aback-- between comments from multiple staff members about my body ("Maybe the dress keeps slipping because your boobs got even smaller?") to comments about other brides and seamstresses. I could go on and on about why I am leaving a bad review, this place came highly recommended and at first I was happy. Something changed about 5 months ago, I just don't know what. They are not like other tailors, you have to go in 10+ times). You will pay $1400+ for what other tailors would charge you $500-700 for. You will not see the same person or even the seamstress who will be altering your dress. You will be left in a hot room waiting for them to get to you which has pins, glitter, thread and open safety pins sticking out of the rug. Towards the end of your appointments you probably won't see much progress on your dress and if you question why it's because you're so far out, or they tried to and the sleeve kept falling off (?). I felt like I couldn't be honest with them towards the end because anything I questioned I was brushed off and I just wanted my dress at that point. I worry about leaving this review, they have been texting me asking for photos so they can post on social media and I don't want to continually be contacted by them. I just want to warn other brides because this place had amazing reviews and came highly recommended but something changed. In April/May I could tell something had shifted but against my better judgment I kept going back. My sister is a seamstress and was appalled at the quality, questioned the specific boning used and the lack of detail experienced seamstresses should have. The inside was sewed back together so sloppily, the bustle had missing pieces, my sister had to fix several things two days before my wedding. I had to sign a paper saying I was satisfied at pickup and I only did it because I did not want to deal with them anymore (4 days before my wedding when my dress was supposed to be done 2 weeks earlier per Cora). The only reason this review warrants even one star is because of Herschel, who was our only form of consistency and handled my daughters dress the last 4 visits. He was understanding, knowledgeable and patient. Without him this experience would have been unbearable and this operation should be shut down! Prior to Herschel, we had a different person each visit where nothing got done right and where, at times, nothing was done at ALL! They don't communicate with each other so it's as if you are starting new at each visit. The back room is full of dresses and it's apparent that they take on way more than they can handle! As the mother of the bride it was so sad to see the stress and expense this place put my daughter through. She left most visits in tears along with a hefty bill. Her final cost for alterations was $1700 and nearly as much as her wedding dress. Next: when you show up for your appointment you should know that you will have to wait while they "finish up" your dress! Why this isn't done before you arrive is beyond me! When I asked why the dress isn't done prior to the visit I was told by the manager that "it is done", they are just doing quality control. LOL! What?? Next: don't try to talk to Dynell (the manager) because he will just shut you up and tell you not to talk over him. In fact, when I tried to speak up for my daughter because she wasn't being heard he told me that his contract was with the bride and that he was not going to deal with me. I can't imagine being in a management position and treating clients this way. In the bridal industry you should expect brides to be stressed 2 weeks before their wedding, especially when the hem was not done yet promised 3 visits prior! In all, the alterations took at least 10 visits beginning on October 10th and finishing 3 days before the wedding on March 15th. The dress was not perfect when we picked it up but with the wedding that weekend we were both beyond done with the experience and didn't want them working on one more thing. In fact, as I was steaming the dress the morning of the wedding (because they do not do this for you) I noticed several dirt spots on the dress and pins which were never removed. The tailor who worked on my dress had done a poor job on a slit to say the least and convinced me that the boning on the bust was "ok". EVERYONE at tailored in white took me in and reassured me that they would do their best to make sure I loved my dress. You have to trust the process and allow them to work their magic. I attended multiple fittings which I appreciated. They will not finalize anything until you are 100% happy with the result. Cora is so talented, she knew exactly how to turn my dress into something that only exists in dreams (lol, this dress fit like a glove). I am so challenged when it comes to picturing the finished product, but she was 10 steps ahead always and patient enough to explain things to me. For my dress I had cups put in, the straps redone to be off the shoulder, the material on the torso taken in (it was a little loose), and the sash moved from right underneath the bust to my waist. The tailor that you see in person is not who actually alters your dress. They go off of a clip board. They say it's all a part of their process. But the reason you have to go to WAY more appointments than most places is because they never have the same person working on it, so they aren't able to do a lot of the alterations at once. It's a terrible process and we were way overcharged for their mistakes. Don't waste your time going to so many appointments when you can have a much smoother process having the person that sees you in the dress actually make your alterations. We also showed up to one of our last appointments, and the tailor admitted they just started working on it 45 minutes before we got there, it was still hanging on by pins and they sewed the wrong beads onto my dress because they didn't feel like looking in my dress bag for the originals. We went back and they sewed the rest of the beads on but left the wrong beads in that spot and we had to tell them again to replace them with my dresses original beads. It was a very disappointing experience, and my dress didn't fit exactly right because I was too nervous to ask them to do anything else. read more

Absolutely the best in the Phx metro area. The owner Cora is such a creative genius and not only did she alter my wedding dress, I've gone back to her for a bridesmaids fitting as well. TIW is so responsive and on top of all concerns any new bride has. Each fitting ranged from 3 to 5 visits, my wedding dress was taken in, and Cora kept all extra fabric in the case of a last minute alteration to create more room. The bridesmaid dress was two sizes too big when I bought it, TIW completely fitting to my size, switched out the straps for fabric and a sash in the back for a " Gatsby " feel. From choosing fabric, I was immediately provided options in the first week of my initial appointment and consultation. The shop is inviting and honestly makes you feel like a celebrity being there. The price is worth the work. I've recommended at least 2 different brides and other bridesmaids since my own wedding. The few reviews I have seen that are lower in rating are disappointing to hear, not to make excuses, but personally talking with the office manager during the pandemic ( most fittings took place then ) if you're unhappy- tell them there, at the appointment. I can admit at one appointment I felt like I didn't see progress and told the seamstress working on my bridesmaids dress, she immediately had the office manager, Veronica talk with me, and reassured that it may not look like much but, work is being done.
