The entire process was pretty turbulent and ultimately came to a crash ending. Although Alix was very nice and worked very hard on my dress and the final product did look good in my photos, I would absolutely not recommend this business to anyone. My dress was in 3 pieces about a week before the wedding which as you can imagine was thoroughly stressful as it would be for any bride. I spent a lot of time and money there as you can imagine. There were changes in staff throughout and everything seemed pretty disorganized. I continued to give them the benefit of the doubt and stay positive and friendly throughout and try and see the best in them. The even bigger issue came in after my wedding. I took my dress in to get preserved, which they used an external company. It came back in looking unprofessional, twisted, wrinkled, etc. They sent it back to the company to redo and they ignored the questions I asked and ultimately they still could not manage to put the dress into the acrylic box in a professional looking way. The staff I spoke with at Tailored in White on September 18 was in complete agreement and it was discussed that I would come pick my dress and veil back up and be refunded for the preservation. I was told on the phone on September 18 that the refund would be easier once I come in to get my dress and bring the credit card in physically. After many ignored communication attempts, I finally brought my card into the store in November when picking up my unpreserved dress and was told then that they didn't need the card. So I actually should have received this refund in September since they didn't need the physical card so they were stalling my refund. I was told that day in the store to my face that they would have the manager process the refund first thing when she got there that same day and send me confirmation. As I never received this confirmation, I followed up the next day and the next day and the next day (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). Finally on Sunday, they send a response that they aren't open that day and have escalated it to be completed first thing Monday. Monday morning goes by and still no contact. I reached out for the last time and still received no response. Therefore I was left with no choice but to dispute via my credit card company and report the business to Shop Pay. Between calling, texting, and even going into the business, my refund still was not processed by them for the service that was not provided and it's like they were hoping I'd just forget and give up and they would get to keep the $650. Very convenient how they had no major issues with communication and responsiveness during the tumultuous wedding dress tailoring process when they were being paid by me (approximately $1500 or more) and then when they owe me a refund (of $650), they all of a sudden no longer can respond to any outreach, lied to me when I went into the store about processing it that day, and have done nothing but avoid processing a refund. Do not use this business for any services unless you want to be continually stressed, lied to, and beyond frustrated. read more

I'm not one to write reviews but needed to warn brides about this hideous place that pretends to be a high class wedding dress alterations shop. I'm the mother of a bride and attended all appointments with my daughter except for 1. First appointment, no problem. Paid IN FULL and expected all future appointments to run smoothly. By the 3rd 4th and 5th appointments, we were becoming concerned. Things were not being completed and the work that was completed for each appointment was looking rushed and unprofessional. 1 month before wedding was the final straw. The hem in the dress looked as though a 4 year old had done it. The boning on one side of the bust was coming out through a hole, there were 2 stains on the dress near the bust and the skirt overlay for the after party was an absolute disaster. Lastly, to make the long sleeves tighter on the dress, the put zippers in ... all the way to the elbow. Instead of taking it in or adding delicate buttons, the put 8 inch long zippers!!!!!! 10 days before the wedding, I had to go get the dress and take it elsewhere. I get no money back and they ruined my daughter's dress and had horrible attitudes about it the entire time. They acted bothered by our concerns and acted as if they were somehow doing us a favor. I cannot say enough about this company and the people that work there! I often times went to appointments to get my wedding dress tailored alone and the women helping me there felt like family. They were constantly adjusting to my needs and my dress ended up beautifully done. They lowered the back into a V shape for me and made it fit exactly how I wanted it to. Words cannot describe how happy I am with the end result of my wedding dress. I got engaged mid January 2023 with a May 13th, 2023 wedding, so my husband and I had a very short engagement. As soon as we got engaged, I went dress shopping right away. I was in need of a fully modest dress with sleeves- but with our short time frame- it is nearly impossible to find something like what I wanted. So I had to find a dress that could be built up with sleeves and a fully covered front and back. After finding the dress I wanted, I made an appt right away with Tailored in White. I told them what I wanted and they told me it could be done. I needed to add sleeves, no see through, fully covered front and back. Essentially, I needed a full build up. The only bump in the road was the fabric I ordered for the build up, came right from the designer themself which took about 2 months to come in, delaying the project with Tailored in White. But let me tell you- that didn't stop the amazing team I worked with to get it done! I started out meeting with Hershel who was sweet and making me feel comfortable with each appointment. He made sure every need was met and clarified as we went. He helped with every mock up before the actual fabric came. I so enjoyed working with Hershel!! Later in the process Ken came in and really transformed my dress into what it was when I took it home. There are really no words to describe his work. Ken KNOWS his stuff and knows what to do. As soon as the fabric came in- Ken got to work. He even let us come in during closed hours and days to get the job done. He made sure everything was perfect- from the hems, to the sleeves, to the lace- it was all perfect! He truly takes his work seriously. Ken also never made me feel uncomfortable or made me feel bad when asking to change something here or there. Very professional!! Lastly- I cannot forget about Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn came in not too long after Ken and also helped with making sure everything was in order and done properly. She was so nice and professional with each appointment. She made sure I was heard and made changes if needed without making me feel uncomfortable. Her and Ken communicated nicely so if one of them weren't there, things were done properly. AVOID THIS PLACE. Absolute worst experience. I was referred here by Grace Loves Lace, where I purchased my dress, because they don't have an in-house seamstress. I had a lot of trust in GLL so I didn't question TIW at all. I wasn't pleased starting with my first appointment. I came alone, and nobody offered to help me put my dress on. The floors were dirty and covered in sparkles from another dress, which is literally the worst case scenario in a wedding dress fitting room. The seamstress was extremely rude and made no effort to make this a special process. My dress was made to order, so I only needed some minor work to the dress. Unfortunately, TIW couldn't get the job done. I went in for at least six appointments, and the dress got worse with each time. They really love to push their "trust the process" mantra but by two weeks before my wedding, I couldn't trust it anymore. At this point, my dress was a disaster. Not only did the seams look like they were sewn by a child in a home ec class, but they also acted as if nothing was wrong. They had to completely undo and reseam the sides of my dress. When I asked if it would be ready to walk down the aisle, she said "it will look ... okay". I was in tears! A brides worst nightmare and SO unprofessional. They didn't even attempt to make the situation better. The color of my dress had turned from a bright white into a musty, dirty shade. They also brought out my dress all wrinkled and said "the hanger strap broke so we can't hang it up". I had to ask them personally to fix the strap - they didn't think to do that on their own! I reached out to Grace Loves Lace explaining the situation and sharing photos of what TIW did to the dress. GLL was horrified and luckily was able to overnight me a brand new dress. They then sourced a new seamstress for me who was able to make the minor changes in one appointment! I ended up going to Emma at Best Bridal and Alterations. She was the sweetest person and made what was left of my dress experience as good as it can get. I'm sure TIW will comment with some automated response about how they encourage you to trust the process or something, but I stand by my review. I got married in March of 2021, and my experience with Tailored in White was atrocious. It pained me to even give them one star. I've seen the way that TIW responds to negative reviews and for that reason, I wasn't going to leave a review because my mom and I have already been falsely accused of harassing Cora and her employees. But I was just looking at pictures my hideous wedding dress after they altered it, and I figure if I can save one bride from using this company, it's worth the review. I was traveling to Scottsdale for my wedding and was told that the few alterations that my dress needed could be done in the weeks leading up to my wedding. I met with a seamstress in December of 2020 and they made notes about what needed to be done. A few weeks before my wedding, the alterations started. I visited TIW eight times in two weeks and they could not get my dress to lay properly. It looked worse at every single visit, and three days before my wedding, I decided to leave the store with my dress in hand and find another seamstress. I spoke with the girls who were working there and they said that they would refund me in full and apologized for the inconvenience. I spent my wedding week looking for a new dress (I thought mine was ruined) and eventually found someone who was able to salvage what they could. I was not happy with my dress at my wedding, but I made the best of it. A few weeks later, I had still not received my refund so I emailed TIW asking to speak with Cora. They said that my mom and I were in violation of their contract and that Cora would not be taking my call due to how the staff was treated. I once again asked for the refund that I was promised and they did not respond to my email, but sent me a contract instead. The contract said that I would be refunded $350 dollars if I promised not to make any disparaging comments about the business. I chose not to sign it and leave this review instead. Whatever you do, do not come here for your alterations. Their "trial and error" approach doesn't always work out and when you're unhappy with the final product, the team becomes impossible to work with. read more

Working with Cora was an absolute DREAM! I had a two-piece ensemble as a bridesmaids dress- the top was insanely uncomfortable as it was made out of an itchy material and it had spaghetti straps that were WAY too long. The skirt needed a lot taken off of the bottom (which I'm not used to having to do as a tall girl!) It took two fittings and about a week and a half, and Cora made both my top and my skirt fit like a glove! She also put a super-soft lining in the top- seriously, before she got her hands on this thing I couldn't stand to be in it for more than 10 minutes... but I ended up wearing it all day and I actually plan to wear it again with a cute pencil skirt or jeans! At my last fitting, which was the day before leaving for the wedding (eek!), she made sure I was 100% happy with her work, and made minor adjustments within minutes, which made me feel like I was important to her and not just another "ticket". By far the best thing about Cora is how easy she is to communicate with. She was easy to reach via text message and even on Instagram (yes-- I slid into her DMs, guilty), and her invoicing/payment/scheduling is done online and via text as well. I was first referred to Cora to help me with altering my wedding dress in a panic from the boutique that I had purchased the dress from less than 20 days before my wedding. Cora responded to the inquiry the same night (after hours) that we had put it in and said that she would be happy to help me. She is a savior! Her online process for scheduling appointments was convenient and easy to use and all payments were made online without difficulty. When I went to see Cora I was excited, not only because I had such a unique vision for my wedding dress, but also her boutique alternation studio was private and cozy. I felt at ease with Cora as she was easy to talk to and had a great sense of humor. Every appointment we had was solely me and Cora. Although I knew she was working on numerous dresses at the same time, I always felt as though my dress was her only focus! Altering my dress was a huge task for anyone to take on and Cora did it without hesitation. Though the Pronovia dress was beautiful, the train was appropriate for a traditional cathedral style church wedding, not the intimate outdoor wedding that I had purchased it for. At the first fitting, Cora was just as amazed as I was at how long the train on this dress was. I had asked her to remove at least 50% of it and take out some of the inside layers of the dress to make it lighter! In addition, I also asked that we add a halter to the top of the dress as I really didn't want it to be strapless for the wedding. Cora agreed without hesitation and went above and beyond to find ideas on exactly how it should look. She was more than willing to practically recreate my wedding dress. Every week before my wedding Cora scheduled an appointment to show me the progress she had made on the dress, have me try it on, and ensure that I was 100% satisfied. I couldn't believe the extent of her knowledge on the fine details of how to alter an intricate lace wedding dress with multiple layers and her sewing abilities. She was extremely attentive every time I tried on the dress to ensure that it fit perfectly. Cora had taken in and let out the body of the dress multiple times to ensure that it wasn't too loose, too tight, or bunched up anywhere. What looked perfect to me was never good enough for Cora. Her attention to detail is unsurpassed! Cora went above and beyond to meet any deadline that she set for herself and I never once questioned her ability to not only meet the rushed timeframe to get all of this done, but in the quality of the work she was doing as well. The final product of the dress was much more than I could have asked for! I have to admit it was bitter sweet when she handed me my finished wedding dress. Although I was overjoyed to have it just in time for the wedding, I will miss seeing her every week!! I was referred to Tailored In White from where I bought my wedding dress. My first appointment went okay, and I agreed to have my alterations done with them, despite a few people telling me the way they handle things were odd. You have to wait 10-15 minutes as they seem to be running behind, then you get told during your appointment they have run out of time and need to see the next person. First off, the person you go to for your appointment is not the same tailoring your dress. You are likely to see different people at each appointment. Second, they keep your dress for weeks-months and they want you to get seen every couple weeks. I was told by several people, and other tailors (after all this) that it is unusual for that to happen, and you should only have 2-3 appointments and then be able to take your dress home with a good amount of time before your wedding. There was little communication between the people you are meeting with and the tailors. I communicated my desire to have my dress let out several times at each appointment I went to but there was a disconnect between who I was speaking to and the work being done. At my second to last appointment, I was told that the person who worked on my dress messed up and she was no longer with them- my hem on the skirt slit was completely off. I was told to come back to repair the work in 2 weeks (again, I was brushed off and rescheduled weeks later instead of getting seen right away), but at no point did they apologize for the work that was done incorrectly. At my last appointment, I received a call about 20 minutes before and was told there was an emergency in the shop and was asked to come later, and I agreed. I told them I drive about an hour to get there, so I would wait as I was already almost there. About 10 minutes before my appointment, I got another call asking to reschedule as the "emergency" in the store escalated and there likely would not be a tailor on site for my appointment. We were already there, so we parked out front and noticed a very upset bride and her family in the waiting area. I decided there were too many red flags and decided to pull my dress from the shop. As I was walking in, we ran into the bride leaving the store, where she stopped me and told me her wedding was in 3 days and her dress was not done, and they were refusing to fix it. I spoke to the girl working, and decided to get my dress. I communicated my concerns, and I was told the owner and several upper management were flying in that week and would be making some changes in the store (another red flag- there is clearly something going on that requires the owners to step in and come in store). I was told I would get a refund for the work that has not been done on my dress, and that was a week ago and I have yet to see the refund. I have called and left messages with no answer. I took my dress to another tailor, and sent pictures to other ones, and I was told the work that was done on my dress (it was just letting it out) ruined the dress and the material had been cut. I was recommended by several tailors to buy a new dress because Tailor In White had ruined it. I went dress shopping this week (because now my wedding is in 2 months and I am in need of a new dress) and I was told at one shop that they no longer are referring people here. Another told me they heard the same concerns and would likely be removing them from their referral list as well. The shop comes across as professional (I never was mistreated or spoken to negatively), but there are several things going on in the shop that should not be happening. Do not take the risk of possibly having your dress ruined, or not having it done in a timely manner. There were several other things that happened that were also concerning, but this was the breaking point for me. It is very expensive work for these tailors who do not seem to know what they are doing. I used Tailored in White for my wedding dress alterations and had a great experience. I even recommended them to my friends who were also looking for wedding dress alterations. However, my frustration/disappointment with them occurred when I used them to preserve both my and my mom's wedding dresses. I dropped off the dresses on 11/1/2022 and was told at that time that the acrylic boxes were on backorder for 3-4 weeks, no big deal. I then reached out again 3/3/2023 and was told that the boxes were "now back in stock" and the cleaning/preservation process will take 3-4 weeks. I AGAIN checked in on 4/5/2023, 5 weeks later and was told on 4/10/2023 that they would be done the first week of May. On 5/1/2023, I was asked if it was okay to remove layers of my skirt because it was too big (which I was already asked when I dropped off the dresses). I said that was fine but asked if my dresses would actually be done that week since they were just now asking me that and was then told on 5/2/2023 that they were going to "attempt to have it ready." Mind you at this point, it had been SIX MONTHS since I dropped off the dresses. I then pointed this out and they told me that they would have the cleaners push it to "the top of their queue", which it should have already been given the LONG wait and that it would take 7 business days at most to finish with only complimentary drop off offered for this incredible wait time. I eventually was offered 20% off but have yet to actually see that refund as of 5/16/2023. I finally received the dresses on 5/12/2023. This was incredibly disappointing and I will no longer recommend this business to any of my friends who are looking for alterations and I ESPECIALLY would NOT recommend anyone use them for preservation services. If anyone has any questions about the above review or would like the conversation receipts, I will happily provide them. TL:DR Do not use for dress preservation services because it will take at least half a year without any explantion. read more

Ugh. I really debated posting my experience, but if it can help a future bride then I think it's worth it. Plus, I'm seeing a lot of women with similar experiences in the reviews. I pulled my dress from TIW one week before my pickup date because after two months, 7 fittings and countless hours of my time wasted, they informed me it would not be ready. I took my dress to another alterations place (thank goodness) and was told that my dress was permanently damaged due to the unprofessional nature of the alterations. In order to make my dress wearable for my wedding the next week, the new place had to completely deconstruct it and put it back together and then alter it correctly. It cost me an additional $1400, but also the emotional distress of not knowing if I even had a wedding dress the week before my wedding. In an effort to take some stress off my plate, my mom offered to try to resolve the issue with TIW. She attempted to contact Cora, the owner, several times and was told that, "Cora does not take these types of calls". After expressing how disappointed we were with this experience, her calls and texts were eventually dodged. There are several more details to this story, but it makes me sick to my stomach to think about this experience. I hope no bride has to go through this like I did. I actually chose tailored in white over a smaller single owned business and the whole experience really Probed how unimportant you are when a company has too many things to do. In the 9 weeks they had my dress I went no less than 14 times - 3 the week of my wedding, and twice the Thursday before only to be texted all day saying my dress was not done. If I had changed my mind multiple times I would understand, but the plan was the same from the beginning. My dress was barely ready at 5pm- 48 hours before only because we called and said no we need the dress. You will have to sign saying you're perfectly satisfied when you leave, which if you are 48 hours out from your wedding you don't have a lot of options in regard to leaving the dress any longer. I ended up getting a second dress because the neckline and shoulder of my dress were still not properly fitted. When I told them about my concerns instead of acknowledging them they just said "ok go ahead and pay the remainder" I ended up paying over $1,300 in alterations for a lot of time, emotional stress, and ended up unhappy in the end. read more

Do not take your dress here especially if you have a silk dress. I walked down the aisle in a dress that was an absolute MESS. The seams were a DISASTER. They will gaslight you into thinking that you don't know what you're talking about. My dress needed a total of 3 things altered: side seams by my hips, tighten the loose fabricate in the bust, and lower the back. I walked out of there with a dress that looked worse than when I brought it in. I walked out with a dress (2 days before my wedding) that was "good enough" to wear on my wedding day. The seams were horrible, there were mysterious stains on my dress, and the weights they added to help the dress "lay flat" (to no avail) were so heavy the dress cut into my shoulders causing me to bleed. I had to cut the weights out of my dress during the reception. I am heart broken looking at my wedding photos and all I can see is how horribly done the seams of my dress are. I will let the photos speak for themselves. It cost me nearly $1,000 for this. To their credit the seamstress worked with me for a total of 5 hours over the span of 2 days to TRY and get the dress to work but in the end it was awful. * I am aware that movement can make the dress lay differently, so I chose photos in which the dress was pulled down, the train was fluffed and we were posed/not moving to ensure that this review shows just how bad my dress looked. read more

We took my daughter's wedding dress here and they didn't have it done, they stained it had it cleaned only to make it worse. No one ever called even tho I asked often for help. No apology. I took my daughter home from there crying at least 5 times as they struggle to complete her dress a very simple dress - no lace or beading. Go elsewhere- run if anyone suggests them. The rating "could've been better" is exactly how I would describe my feelings after working with Tailored in White for over a year and a half. First and foremost, I want to clarify that my review of this business is purely coming from a place of being wanting to give an honest and open review of my experience because I wished that I had, had this information before making the decision to hire this vendor. Just a bit of background my wedding was originally set for 10/26/20 but due to COVID we pushed it back, thus I worked with Tailored in White for a longer than normal time span. I spent hours researching all my vendors and hoped that I was making the best-informed decisions at the time. The ladies were friendly, fun and made the consultation an open and relaxed experience. They required a charge of $50 to make the consultation appointment which was nonrefundable but could go toward the expense of your alterations if you chose to use them. At this initial consultation, the ladies broke down the cost of alternations, the standard schedule of their fittings, and what to expect up until the day of my wedding. Begin a type A personality, I felt relaxed and relieved that the shop had plans and protocols in place, it felt like there was little room for error. Just for reference of budget and my expectations relating to their costs. My dress cost $2,000 off the rack and my dress only required shortening/ hemming of the skirt, adjusting the strap length, and taking the bust in a bit. Overall, the original size of dress I bought was not far off my exact measurements, thus I was pretty surprised that the total for my alterations came to a little over $1500, without any additional cost of bustling. However, the seamstress suggested additional boning to my bust area to give the top a smoother overall better look and I understood this task is tedious and would require expertise and time, thus $$$. My naive self-thought, "well this is a shop in Scottsdale, they had great reviews and I wanted my dress to look fabulous so whatever it costs". "I had already spent a decent amount on it, I did not want to have a beautiful dress to start with and a poor final product". So, I left my dress with the ladies and felt confident that it was safe and I was going to be well taken care of. Once again, this is just my perspective and experience but I had spent over a year and a half expressing my concerns about the straps and feeling like I had been to many appointments and nothing had been addressed. And during my first dance during a high point of the song, I raised my arms to cheer in celebration and my strap broke... and I really feel like this wardrobe malfunction could have been avoided. This one dance movement was not crazy or any ballet-type movements but just the raising of my arms, that is all it took. So here is my takeaway from my experience, I had wished that my dress had only been worked with by one seamstress who knew my wishes, my body, and my dress. I wished that I had stuck up for myself and requested that the straps be a higher priority sooner than the week before my wedding and overall; I wished I had interviewed more alteration shops and or asked friends and family for suggestions. Internet reviews are great but unless you know the person, it can be difficult to make the best choice without knowing all the perspectives. Let me start by saying these woman of Tailored in white are super amazingly talented! They were welcoming, warm and felt like I was getting tailored by my very good friends! As a bride and you're already in wedding planning mode aka a little stressed or overwhelmed you really want to feel like the dress is the most controlled chaos of the whole process, Kora and her amazing team really made me feel confident in their abilities and they did not disappoint! They met every expectation and then some with how well they really hugged the dress to my body. They took their time and didn't move on until each section was perfected. My dress was purchased in 3-4 sizes too big due to being 15-20 lbs heavier when I purchased it, so a lot of taking in and forming was needed in the corset area. I'm also 5'Ft tall so they also had to make it so I didn't trip. You would have never known my dress was restructured and lace and beading were re-tacked back together, it looked as if I bought it the way they fit it to me. I loved going to my appointments to see all their hard work and they are thee best hype team around seriously was so fun and exciting seeing them get excited for you!
