Best Chicken Shawarma! I've become a huge fan of Shawarma and I've only had it at Villa Madina and Me-Va-Me so I decided to start trying more places and Tahini's was on the top of my list based on reviews. My Chicken Shawarma was really good with flavourful juicy chicken meats and amazing toppings. I got their "old school" toppings and it was perfect. I got the small wrap and it was not small at all. I will definitely be back to try the Shawarma rice bowl!

Really good value for two people! Delicious food for a great price. We ordered the Ultimate Box for 2 $34.99 which comes with: * Small Habibi Bowl * Small Butter Chicken and Rice * Arabian Bites * 2x Samosa * 2x Falafel * 2x Pops I absolutely love Mediterranean food and this spot has quickly become a favorite! Strongly recommend. They've got a good amount of seating inside, good for one or small groups. It's fast-food style order and pay at the counter. Lots of parking around and close to the Cineplex!

Came to try due to lots of tik tok clips and it is AWESOMEEEE!!! Be sure to order medium or large, as you get the saj bread instead of regular pita. It is so crispy and delicious! I had the butter chicken wrap, family had jerk chicken and chicken shawarma wrap. Recommend chicken shawarma!

I've been seeing Tahini's more and more on social media, and each time I see their posts I instantly have a craving. Honestly their chicken shawarma wrap is next level. The chicken is juicy and tastes unbelievable. Their habanero sauce is just the right amount of spice. And the saj bread is top notch. I usually get takeout but it's nice they have plenty of seating as well. Service is prompt too. All in all one of my favourite chicken shawarma spots!

Honestly I don't want to give this a bad review as this place is my goto spot but after experiencing this I will never go back. I ordered two habibi bowls for pick up. Picked up and got home to eat. After taking one bite I had to spit it out and realized the meat is raw. Mind you there is cooked chicken as well but it was overcooked mixed with raw chicken. I am extremely disappointed and very peeved. Would not recommend this place.

Just opened. I just tried their Saj bread wraps and I love it! Strongly recommend them. Next time I might try a bowl or a platter. Reasonably priced and friendly service.

It was so good that I got three mini Shwarmas. And we got messy fries, and we tried the blueberry flame Shawarma.

Sababa Restaurant - The lentil soup of lentil soups

Sababa in Thornhill doesn't chase trends--it outlives them. I've been eating here for 30 years,…read morewhich in restaurant time is basically surviving a war, and Sababa is still standing, still feeding people the way it always has: honest, soulful Middle Eastern food that shows up every day and does the job right. This is the kind of place where the menu hasn't been "reimagined," because it never needed to be. The chicken skewers dinner is a personal staple--charred just enough, juicy where it counts, seasoned with the confidence. The shawarma is famous for a reason: shaved hot, spiced deep, and piled without apology. You start with the dip platter because that's what you do here--hummus, tahini, baba ghanoush--the opening handshake before the real conversation begins. Attached to the restaurant is a grocery store that feels like a lifeline--shelves of hard-to-find ingredients, spices, and staples that remind you food isn't just something you order, it's something you live with. There's also a takeout counter with a few tables, perfect for quick eats that turn into longer stays because the food demands your attention. Sam Azar founded the place, and the legend goes deeper than the menu--he even made their lentil soup recipe public, giving it away to the newspapers like a gift, not a secret. That generosity still hangs in the air. Today, his children carry the torch, and you can feel the continuity: same spirit, same standards, same refusal to mess with something that works. Sababa isn't flashy. It's better than that. It's dependable, rooted, and quietly excellent--the kind of restaurant you measure your life around, not your Instagram feed. Find calm fam atmosphere, not TikTok madness with a side of chaos. CHEERS!!!

The dining hall was closed, so I ordered food from their next-door Sababa Mid-Eastern Groceries store's to-go counter at the back. First item that caught my eye was their steak liver pita. I also ordered a bowl of their famous lentil soup and grabbed a bottle of Efsane Uludağ Gazozu. The liver was as I would hope, rich iron-y flavor with fresh lettuce and tomato salad with a dash of chili flakes. I pretty much inhaled it, as I was famished. However, it was the lentil soup that made me take pause. I have made lentil soup at home in the past with meh results, but tasting this rendition's unassuming, yet thoroughly satisfying flavor and filling consistency made me want to try again. Lastly, the uludağ rounded out everything nicely, a slightly different crispness to it that took me by surprise. A humble feast was had.

I finally got to try Me Va Me…read more It was recommended that I try the Chicken Shawarma Laffa Wrap. I've had laffa before so I didn't even hesitate. The best way to explain the laffa wrap is like a thinner naan bread. It's huge and baked almost the same way naan is made. They have the ovens right out front so you can watch your wrap being made from scratch. First observation is the wrap is HUGE! It's a solid lunch that will most likely make you skip dinner. There are plenty of toppings to choose from. I chose hummus, tahini, garlic sauce , lettuce, tomato, red cabbage slaw, and pickles. I also added a splash of hot sauce which was a nice kick and gave a slightly smoky flavour. (Toppings I omitted are Tzatziki, mango sauce, onions and pickled hot peppers) The chicken was flavoured and cooked perfectly and shredded nicely so that it's spread evenly across the wrap. Here's a tip ask them to cut it in half before they wrap it in the foil. It will make it way easier to eat. Make sure you have lots of napkins with this one! I will definitely return to try some of the other menu items but I would definitely get the laffa wrap again!

The laffa was tasty and fresh but everything else was just meh. There was just a small amount of chicken certainly not worth the $18 I spent for lunch included a can of Diet Coke.
