My reason that I come here. Please get it and let me know if you agree!

Honestly the best reason to come to the place is a big plate of hummus with big chunks of chicken shawarma. Take a honking piece of freshly baked Oita and go to town. Seriously, no real other reason to go there. Service is pedestrian at best, but who cares? Gicee those complementary pickled peppers and olives and fresh bread. You can't go wrong. We stopped I'm for a quick bite, ordered a few overpriced salads and shared a sandwich with some fries. But my thought go back to that mecca of goodness. A big platter of hummus that a bunch of people can share, family style. Honestly, I went a while back and that is the only thing I remember. Overall it's a good place for some middle eastern flair type food. Pretty much something for everyone. However, just do the take away if you can and enjoy at home There are takeway locations which I will definitely try next time.

The portion is very big, and the Israeli bread is fresh and hot. Hummus taste amazing, but I'd say the chicken swarama stole the show!

Me Va Me is one of my go-to Middle Eastern spots. What keeps me coming back? The freshly-made laffa, best paired with their delicious dips! Baba ganoush and fried eggplant are my favourites. I usually get the combo dip platter (3 dips) which is enough to be considered a meal on it's own. Of course, they also have other dishes. The shawarma, kebab, and schnitzel dinners are safe options, though I find their mains to be hit or miss most times. Plus, their dinners come with the house salad. No need to upgrade this one, the house salad is great!

This restaurant has a beautiful, classic decor with clean lines and a sophisticated colour scheme. The use of natural materials, from the stone walls and wood pillars to the granite table tops provides an elegant yet casual dining area. It's bright, spacious and well laid out. There is also a large patio upstairs but it was closed the day we were there. Our server was friendly but not overly helpful. I was glad one of my coworkers had provided me a list of her favourites, else I wouldn't have known where to start! I had been given the tip though, that one dish could definitely feed two people with ease! We ordered accordingly and with drinks (non-alcoholic), the bill still came out to $40 after tax!! Here's what we had... Potato Latkes: Potato cakes stacked with thin slices of salmon, sour cream, red onions and capers - $9.99 I'm so glad that this was on the list of recommendations I came with. We were presented with two large potato latkes served over mixed greens. Sandwiched between the latkes were slices of salmon and big dollops of sour cream. If the salmon was smoked, it was ever so lightly. It had more of a sashimi texture and flavour and the sour cream was to die for! Definitely an item you can share but next time, I'm having one all to myself! Simply delicious. Lamb Skewers with Seasoned Vegetables (and Greek Salad) - $18.99 The lamb was seasoned nicely and cooked to a perfect medium. Two large skewers with 5 or 6 pieces per skewer served with a barbecue sauce type dip. The vegetables were al denté and consisted of carrots, broccoli, sweet peppers and bok choy. There were other sides we could choose from but with the potato latkes, we figured we'd keep it on the lighter side. Unfortunately, the Greek Salad that came with our meal failed in comparison. The lettuce looked as though it had seen better days and was not dressed evenly. With a sprinkling of feta cheese, tomato, cucumber and a few black olives this salad lacked creativity and was no different than what I could find at any family style diner. I should note, there is also a Me Va Me Express for takeout and delivery. There are two locations, one is beside this restaurant and the other is located at Steels and Hilda Avenue. From what is noted on the Express menu, there is a $3.50 delivery charge. Not too shabby!

Let me start by saying that this was my first visit ever to Me Va Me. We had to wait about 15 mins for a table but were seated within a shorter timeframe. Their menu seems to be quite extensive. We decided to do two chicken shawarma with chickpeas. I also ordered the mint lemonade. The food and out rather quickly and the chicken was nice and tender and went well with the hummus. The fresh wraps they provide definitely made the experience enjoyable for the kids and myself. By far the highlight of my meal was the Mint Lemonade which reminded me of a virgin mojito and was just that extra that added to my meal. The food was fresh and tasted great, but a little disappointed with the lack of flavour other than garlic. Word of advice don't wear something there that you don't want smelling of food bec it took two days of airing out our jackets, and glad I tried but not sure if I would go back

I like their signature dips and lunch specials, but I feel like the owners have diversified their efforts with Mi Va Me, Mi Va Me Express and corporate catering that the soul of the restaurant is gone. It feels too commercial and North Americanized. It does not feel authentic enough to me. When I'm talking about places that are authentic, I'm primarily talking about places like: - Sofra Grill (8707 Dufferin St, Thornhill) - Suliko (1311 Alness St #8, Concord) - Maha's (226 Greenwood Ave, Toronto) - Aish Tanoor (994 Eglinton Ave W, Toronto) - Jerusalem (955 Eglinton Ave W, Toronto) - Tabülè (2009 Yonge St, Toronto) The above restaurants offer you an authentic experience. Mi Va Me, on the other hand, offers a good, but a watered down experience. A middle of the road type experience. You will leave full and content with the quality of food and service, but there will be something missing. That something, IMHO, is authenticity, care, and love that goes into making food.

Loved the downtown Markham location so tried this one out too. It was good. I've been a few times 3.5 stars Parking: Plaza in the suburbs so yeah, lots of parking. It might be a bit stressful to get parking at the door, you may -gasp- have the walk 1-2 minutes. Decor: So nice. There are tables. Table booth hybrids and booths. The seats are really push and comfortable. It's really nice actually, they didn't skimp on quality tables and seating! Food: Really good. My last visit we got a hummas with chicken to share and a goat cheese salad and a beef tenderloin salad. The hummas was good. You really needed the chicken and onions to add flavour because I has some with just on its own and it tasted like it was just pureed chickpeas, nothing else. Goat cheese salad. I think it was good my friend refused to share it saying " if I give you some it's less for me) Tenderloin salad. Beef was perfect. Skewers served separate. The salad part. Good but lacking in stuff. Technically the things they listed in the menu were there but in very teeny quantities. The lettuce was puked on top so you couldn't really tell until partway through. But it was really good Weird. There were two of us, we order hummas and got one pita. One. Service: Or server was nice. Not around a lot, took a while to get our bill and to pay but not so bad. She was really nice. I want to point out we watched a waitress push straws into people's drinks using her fingers on open mouth parts. She handled money, and touched things people who were coughing touched. Talk about a typhoid Mary!

I love this location! It is so clean and the food is always so good! Can't go wrong with the chicken schnitzel! Me va me house salad is my favorite as well. I love the dressing and the salad is always so fresh. I never get disappointed whenever I visit me va me!

Chicken shawarma on hummus with freshly baked SAN bread

Stopped by the restaurant to try it out for lunch. For starters, it is equipped with a full bar, which was surprising for a Mediterranean place! I ordered the chicken shawarma on top of hummus, which came with freshly baked saj bread. The hummus was whipped to perfection, and the chicken on top was fresh and nicely grilled, served with sliced red onions. The plate was also accompanied by a small side of pickles for the table. Asking for extra bread to finish the large plate was no problem, as our waiter was extremely pleasant (she kept topping off our water at any chance). For desert, I ordered the famous Knafeh, which was a Mediterranean cheese pie served with syrup. It was absolutely delicious and highly authentic. The menu was full with many other Mediterranean food options, including many Israeli dishes and salads, which is new and refreshing. TLDR; Great place for hummus/fresh bread and knafeh, and probably shawarma!

This place is a hit and miss on both Quality and Service levels. It's the only location that I go to, since it opened few years ago, because it is closer to me than the original location so it's very convenient to get to last minute. The convenience of the express section is great for pick up quick orders, and offering delivery in that area is definitely a plus. But when it comes to quality, it really differs every time, sometimes you can tell that it is all fresh and perfectly cooked and taste simply delicious, where at some other times it is barely anything on the plate with blah taste and very mediocre quality. That being said, consistency of taste and quality is key to any restaurant success. I I usually get the chicken schnitzel, hummus with chicken Shawarma, bbq beef or lamb skewers and other classics from the Mediterranean cuisine. Again, when they are on their A game, the delivery of the final product is superb, but when they are not, you are better off with a fast food wrap from anywhere else around and save yourself major dollars. For all what it's worth, me va me is a good family restaurant, with friendly staff 'most of the time', and with some nice selections on the menu and good authentic flavors, when done correctly

I have been going to Me Va Me for at least 5 years now and this is my favourite location! The food is fresh, fast and delicious! If your in the mood for chicken or steak kabob this is the place to go! I love the falafel dinner with the house salad. Something about the dressing on the house salad is to die for! You can't eat Me Va Me with out getting the house salad and the hummus! Always order the hummus to start because they will be bringing your fresh Lafa bread all night long. They hand make it for every order so it's always hot! Make sure you have reservations because it's always packed with locals. The wait could be anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour!

I love the food here. I usually get a hummus and something (chicken or mushroom or ...) as an entree. The appetizer trio is also great because you can choose from a selection of hummus and it comes with some bread for dipping. The decor and ambience for this location is great but it can get busy in the evenings especially Thursdays thru Saturday.

We passed so many places along the way, but couldn't figure out which one would be a hit or possibly even a miss. Honestly, I had no idea what to expect. My search just had me looking for a place that made fresh food, not a franchise chain, but a place with some great reviews. This is how we found Mister Laffa Shawarma House. Instantly when I walked in and saw the spit of juicy fresh chicken shawarma, I knew we found THE spot! We were greeted warmly when we walked in. 2 gentleman working, one making FRESH (OMG) laffa bread, and the other slicing up the chicken for the people ahead of us. The assortment of vegetables and sandwich wrap toppings were fresh, very cleanly arranged and set up. The juicy glistening chicken had me right away and I made a beeline to the counter to order. Hubby and I ordered 2 chicken shawarma plates. This came with the options of: Rice with lentils - wow this was so amazing - I make this at home myself, so I was super impressed! Salad options including tabbouleh and building your own with options including: lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onions Fresh warm laffa bread - I could have eaten 2-3 of these myself (order a sandwich with this bread - you will not be disappointed!) Hummus Garlic sauce Tahini Coleslaw Onions with sumac Some of their options for sandwiches and plates include: Chicken Shish Kebab (dark or white meat) Beef Shish Kebab Lamb Shish Kebab Kefta Lamb Shish Kebab We stuck with salad and tabbouleh, hummus on the side, rice with lentils and garlic & tahini sauce. Each platter came with 1 laffa bread - we loved it so much they gave us 2 extra at no charge. The chicken was so fresh and full of flavour, dark meat that was juicy and not dry at all, the seasoning was perfection. Truthfully, this meal was so fresh and so good, that it tasted homemade. I took away 1 star for the hummus, tahini & garlic sauce. Hummus needed more garlic and lemon, garlic sauce the garlic was really suttle and a bit on the runny side and same with the tahini. Vaughan def has a lot of great shawarma options, that I am really looking forward to trying. I will also be returning here ti try some of the other meat options, plus I am already craving the fresh laffa! Stay tuned!

If you like middle eastern food you must try the food here. With Arabic food, sharing is the way to go. We ordered a few appetizers; hummus, fattoush, Greek salad, baba ghanoush (not pictured), tabouleh (not pictured). The reason I love going here is because of the appetizers, they remind me of how my mom and aunts make appetizers; in the traditional Iraqi way. The salads are zesty and sour, which is very typical of Iraqi cuisine but it's so delicious. The ingredients are all very fresh. I highly recommend trying the hummus and tabouleh, they're addictive. For our main meal we ordered a giant mixed platter with a bit of every meat (lamb chops, chicken souvlaki, beef schnitzel, chicken schnitzel, beef kebab tenderloin, Iraqi beef kebab). This was so delicious, everything was cooked perfectly. If you only want to try one meat I would highly recommend trying the lamb chops, I could easily eat 20 of those. The schnitzels are quite popular amongst kids, I remember ordering those all the time and they still taste as good as I remember them. And of course all the sides are amazing (especially the fries). For dessert we had tea and creme caramel, a great way to end the night. This place is awesome, we'll continue to go here especially for events (they sometimes bring DJs). The place is very clean as well (bathrooms are spotless).

A couple of Saturdays ago, I needed to grab some takeout for dinner. I did a search on my Uber Eats app and found Tahini's. It's a few doors down from a No Frills, in a plaza that has a McDonald's, Dollarama, Kaiyo Sushi, and more. I got the following items: - Regular habibi bowl (BOGO) - Beef samosas (2) I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes for my food to be ready. I drove over to this eatery and backed into a parking spot. I waited a bit before I headed inside the eatery to pick my food up. I headed to the counter on the left. A woman said hi. When I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order, she abruptly interrupted me and said that I needed to be on the right. I didn't feel any warmth from her. I felt like I was scolded by her for not knowing. It was my first time at this eatery. The only door in and out of this eatery is directly in front of this woman. Naturally, folks would head over to you, especially a newbie like me. You order on the left. You pick up your food on the right. Got it. I made my way over to the right. I had a friendly woman there who let me know that she was waiting for my beef samosas. Cool. It was enough time for me to take photos. The unpleasant woman seemed happier talking to a male colleague in front of the protein spits. I took a photo. She looked my way. She seemed to default to her sour disposition again. I had the inclination to delete the photo capturing her unpleasant expression, and take another photo once she went into the kitchen. It's one star off my rating. She clearly didn't like me. The feeling was mutual. The beef samosas were done. Yay! The other woman packed up everything and handed me my paper bag full of food. I thanked her and wished her a good evening. She reciprocated. I then headed to my car and drove home. I had the beef samosas first. OMG! They were delicious. The wrapper was crispy and not greasy. The beef filling was generous and yummy. I should have got six. Yum! I had one of the regular bowls that evening and the other the following day. I specified light hot sauce. It was perfect. The chicken shawarma was tender and yummy. I liked the toum. It had the perfect amount of garlic. The parsley provided a pop of colour. It didn't taste like anything. The rice was fluffy and delicious. This bowl was excellent. I had the other bowl for dinner the following day. It heated up nicely and was equally as yummy. I loved everything that I had consumed. I'll be back for a shawarma wrap and more. I'm hoping that the sourpuss woman isn't there upon my return. (451)

Typical shops have much fewer filling options schmeared on a bagged pita bread and smushed in a panini press. The bread hear appears house made, certainly unique and so doing kind of sticks to the wrapping paper. But still, an enjoyable bite of mixed veg and chicken. While a bit on the dry side and buried with the veg and sauce, thst is a big sandwich and very fresh. I would saw that Mr. Zagros is a good option when you get a craving for a schwarma or falafel. If we had received this order warm and not dried out, then I think we've got a hit on our hands! I think in time this place should be a regular place for Kosher eaters north of Hwy 7. They still just need to work out the kinks and they are getting there! I'd say check them out for sure, I'll definitely be ordering from there again to see if they are on the right track. The staff are friendly and were quick to point out if anything wasn't available from the menu at the time which was great. Menu items are priced well for kosher in the city. I'm a little surprised the lentil soup is $8.50, but everything else is priced fairly (ie about $16 for a shawarma in a laffa) which is amazing! The only other issue I had (small but well worth noting) is that the location is tricky to get to and just know that when heading over, you might have to pull a u turn on Hwy 7 if you are coming in from the east. Best to enter from the onramp connected to Langstaff for a smoother entry. Keep up the great work!

Real Israeli style food hits the Thornhill neighborhood. Yes its kosher and priced right. Portions…read moreare generous and the flavors are as good as it gets. New salads are nice. Pickled cabbage. Bit spicy with a good ballance of crunch. Hot sauce is nice and mild with the right flavors. Sabich plate is the ultimate veggie dish that will fill you up quick. If you want a quick fix then this is the spot to check out in Thornhill.
