Liked coming here for years. Lots of food And you get full. Falafel balls were not good and I would not recommend them at all. The Moroccan cigars we're amazing. The chicken dinners and kefta we're done very well. Lacked a bit of flavor for my taste. Overall great value but nothing to wow about.

Grilled salmon salad, delicious

Do not come here, go to Me va me. I've been here many times with my family, good food, awful service. Tonight was next level. My dad asked for medium lamb and had to send it back twice because it was too rare. The servers are incompetent and hang around chatting with each other rather than working. Our server didn't ask how the food was or say goodbye or thank you to us even though my dad left a generous, underserved tip. He can be so oblivious sometimes. And of course they didn't adjust the bill at all after all their fuck ups. I live downtown and would never dine at a place like this but I go because my parents like it but when I say I'll never go back I mean it. There are way less dining options in Thornhill than downtown but there sure as shit are better places than this with friendlier service. I'd rather eat at McDonald's.

Chicken Shawarma Greek Salad

Came here for the first time with my coworkers and it was great. I've never been on this plaza for food but it was nearby my work so I decided to give it a try. I got the shawarma Greek salad and it was tasty. The portions were large and I had to get a box for the left overs. I've only had shawarma twice including this time, I would definitely get it again. The interior was simple, they had a takeout section and a seating area which was nice because it seems like a lot of nearby employees go there for lunch. Overall, the place was decent, not the usual food I would go for but it was nice to try.

Lamp chops

Great family resto serving authentic and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Our party of 11 were originally planning to hit up Me Va Me but after being told there is a minimum spending $30 per person in order to make reservations, we found ourselves at Sofra Grill who will accept reservations without a minimum spend. The food here is just as good if not even better than Me Va Me. Our group shared an order of hummus, baba ganoush and fried calamari served with unlimited pita bread. Personally, I thought the baba ganoush stole the show. It has a perfectly smoked eggplant taste with just the right texture. It was delightful! Our lamb chops were super juicy, tender and perfectly grilled medium. The price is really good for the portion you get. I think our lamp chops was $20 for 4 pieces and also came with a salad and 2 sides. It's a really cozy resto with friendly staff. I would recommend Sofra if you are in the Vaughan area.

falafel with tahini and hot sauce, garlic roasted potatoes and broccoli

I've been fortunate to dine at this local gem for years since moving to Vaughan with my family. Sofra Grill is a staple and never under-delivers. It's a clean, well-kept spot with a takeout lineup as busy as the dining room itself. They have a simple menu that they've perfected and execute on. Meals come with an individual house salad, featuring a variety of skewers, lamb chops, schnitzel, salmon and shawarma. Skewer portions are generous and always cooked beautifully. On our last visit we had the trio cold appetizer dip (with unlimited warm, fresh laffa) with Hummus, Baba Ganoush and Fried Eggplant. The dips on the soft warm laffa with a bit of their killer hot sauce is a great way to start things off while waiting for mains. We also had the double chicken skewer - dark meat (I prefer the chicken here to their salmon or beef options) and falafel entrees. Food is healthy, hot, fresh and tasty. As for the service, it's good -- fast, efficient and attentive. Not over the top. 4/5 overall. There's lots of alternatives for here I'm still salty they switched out their mini red skinned roasted potatoes for the newer wedge style one. Prices have also gone up more than other local Mediterranean spots. Still, I will likely be back soon, hungry!

Chicken shawarma plate. Huge!
Ayad F.

This is a neat place to eat at. Decor makes it feels like you are at a relative's house rather than a diner which is pretty awesome. I ordered chicken shawarma plate ($15.99) and it was huge, juicy, fresh, and delicious! It came with a side of salad and a choice of rice, potatoes or fries. Salad was really fresh. I absolutely recommend their garlic potatoes. If you prefer sandwiches you can get your shawarma in a pita or a laffa and top it up however you like subway style. Overall their portions are huge so don't hesitate to get a to go box. Service is OK. I will surely come back for more.

lunch special.. ( the extra $3 is from a friends meal eith split in price)

The restaurant has a beautiful interior and high ceilings. Service here is little to none. Which is unfortunate since their food is so good. After taking our orders we were never checked on. Asked 2 different servers for extra serveware and never got it. Had to ask more than once to get water. Overall the service is BAD. What saves this place is definitely their food, as it's very delicious. Definitely start with their variety of dips for sharing. Here's what we got: Mix Appetizers 5/5 - Came with hummus, baba ganoush, spicy mashed and haydari. All delicious and served with fresh bread. Mixed Pide 5/5 - This was also great for sharing and tasting the variety of pide options. Came with cheese, minced meat, and sausage. Mix Kebab for 2 5/5 - This was more than enough to share with the five of us, as portions are large, especially when you are ordering other sides. A variety of meats including lamb, chicken, beef served with rice and salad. The meal ends with complimentary tea. Overall, delicious spot with great food but just lacks any type of service. So good that I'd still come back for their food.

A couple of Saturdays ago, I needed to grab some takeout for dinner. I did a search on my Uber Eats app and found Tahini's. It's a few doors down from a No Frills, in a plaza that has a McDonald's, Dollarama, Kaiyo Sushi, and more. I got the following items: - Regular habibi bowl (BOGO) - Beef samosas (2) I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes for my food to be ready. I drove over to this eatery and backed into a parking spot. I waited a bit before I headed inside the eatery to pick my food up. I headed to the counter on the left. A woman said hi. When I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order, she abruptly interrupted me and said that I needed to be on the right. I didn't feel any warmth from her. I felt like I was scolded by her for not knowing. It was my first time at this eatery. The only door in and out of this eatery is directly in front of this woman. Naturally, folks would head over to you, especially a newbie like me. You order on the left. You pick up your food on the right. Got it. I made my way over to the right. I had a friendly woman there who let me know that she was waiting for my beef samosas. Cool. It was enough time for me to take photos. The unpleasant woman seemed happier talking to a male colleague in front of the protein spits. I took a photo. She looked my way. She seemed to default to her sour disposition again. I had the inclination to delete the photo capturing her unpleasant expression, and take another photo once she went into the kitchen. It's one star off my rating. She clearly didn't like me. The feeling was mutual. The beef samosas were done. Yay! The other woman packed up everything and handed me my paper bag full of food. I thanked her and wished her a good evening. She reciprocated. I then headed to my car and drove home. I had the beef samosas first. OMG! They were delicious. The wrapper was crispy and not greasy. The beef filling was generous and yummy. I should have got six. Yum! I had one of the regular bowls that evening and the other the following day. I specified light hot sauce. It was perfect. The chicken shawarma was tender and yummy. I liked the toum. It had the perfect amount of garlic. The parsley provided a pop of colour. It didn't taste like anything. The rice was fluffy and delicious. This bowl was excellent. I had the other bowl for dinner the following day. It heated up nicely and was equally as yummy. I loved everything that I had consumed. I'll be back for a shawarma wrap and more. I'm hoping that the sourpuss woman isn't there upon my return. (451)

Can't go wrong with beef shwarma... great flavors and a bit of tanginess... I didn't expect to like the chicken shwarma but it was nice and smokey... which fishes it some added depth. At other places, shish kebob can be over cooked and dry... not here... grilled on the outside but tender on the inside. Love these flavors... wish we could have had extra containers of that yummy sauce on the side. I don't know what it is... but the potatoes where so so good. There is lots of staples and salad to fill you up. So in total there was plenty... but I felt like I would like a tiny little more meat for the price of the shwarma... the shish kebob seems about right because it's chuncks of meat vs thin sliced. Overall giving this a 3.25 start rating.

What us relatively unique is that for about ten bucks you get a pretty hefty sandwich of chicken mixed in a bowl with a wide assortment of fixings as tomatoes, medeterrean salad and red cabbage. Typical shops have much fewer filling options schmeared on a bagged pita bread and smushed in a panini press. The bread hear appears house made, certainly unique and so doing kind of sticks to the wrapping paper. But still, an enjoyable bite of mixed veg and chicken. While a bit on the dry side and buried with the veg and sauce, thst is a big sandwich and very fresh. I would saw that Mr. Zagros is a good option when you get a craving for a schwarma or falafel. Be prepared to pay a premium, as about $32.00 for three sandwiches and one soda.

It was a really nice spot for a special night... cozy, welcoming, and not overly loud. We enjoyed everything we ordered, but the saganaki was definitely the standout. Beyond the presentation, the cheese itself was excellent... crisp on the outside, warm and soft inside, and really well seasoned. Easily something I'd come back for. The mango ginger spritz was light and refreshing, not too sweet, the Australian lamb chops were cooked nicely, tender, and full of flavor without being overly heavy. We ended the perfect night with baklava and vanilla ice cream. It was flaky, just sweet enough to be shared between us. Portions weren't huge, but we left feeling content. We did have to make a reservation well in advance, which I'd definitely recommend. Prices feel appropriate for a special occasion rather than an everyday dinner.
